This was only my second time having Playa Bowls and I really enjoyed my meal! I ordered a hot oatmeal bowl with strawberries, blueberries, sliced almonds, hemp seeds, cacao nibs and nutella. The oatmeal was plain but the toppings sweetened it up. Super filling and satiating. My friend ordered the Nutelloco coconut bowl with half pitaya, which was not an up charge! The bowl included banana, blueberry flax granola, strawberry, coconut flakes cacao nibs, Nutella and she added extra mango. Although she paid for extra mango, it did not make it on to her fruit bowl. We were offered a $3 credit to a playa bowl member account but we are not members. We do not have an account with playa bowl, we chose guest check out. They said they could not refund online orders and we would have to come back to the store for them to remake a new bowl. By that point we were already at work so that was not an option. We currently have no resolution to this issue. I placed an order ahead of time (literally at 3am from their website) and had no issues with the pickup or the order being ready on time. Pickup was smooth, seamless and pleasant. The atmosphere makes you feel like you walked into a store on the shore. Very beach inspired, colorful and fun. TIP- The website does not list if the oatmeal is hot or not but when placing an online order there is a "special note" section where you can request the oatmeal to be warm. read more

A little overpriced. Good fruit. They're always slow. Last time I went there were at least 5 people behind the register just talking. I had already ordered ahead of time so all I needed was to pick up the order. 2 different girls came up to the register and barely acknowledged me or asked what I needed(I'm guessing they were clocking out) and didn't have someone else do it. I like that this place is open in the evening since I often want something light on days I've had a big lunch. I would prefer to see more use of hair nets, which has been standard pre-covid. I was surprised how many customers were coming in during the last 20 minutes of business. Staff was friendly and the wait wasn't too long considering the number of pickups and walk-ins for that time. I ordered the Nutelloco, as is, and it really hit the spot. Fresh fruit, nice flavor, very little melt on my drive home, definitely filling. Easily the worst customer service experience of my life. I have never actually been witnessed this level of verbal abuse and unprofessionalism in a place of business. I ordered a smoothie that another customer took by accident. I waited for 45 minutes for this smoothie. I waited another 15 minutes for a refund. The manager refused to refund me and screamed in my face, leaving me in tears. I left the store with no refund and no drink. I was on my way to a wedding, and I was so upset I missed the wedding entirely. I contacted Playa Bowls corporate to try to get my refund. I called once more to politely ask for my refund only to have the manager scream at me over the phone and hang up. Do not go here! I paid $15 for nothing but stress. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER! NEVER ever go there save yourself the bad experience. The place is nearby my house so I've ordered a few times. Today I ordered the same Protein açaí bowl that I did last time but as son as I opened the flavor was like rotten fruit really bad I even gave a little to my friend to double check and she almost threw up. I called to let them know the situation , I'm Hispanic (AND VERY PROUD) so my English is not the best. A girl picked up and when I tried to explain her she laughed and told me to wait a minute , another girl came to the phone and ask me to explain her again and so I did , she literally went off the phone but I could hear on the background how they were laughing , that went ok for about 10 seconds and then a third girl went on the line , she at least was polite and told me the manager wasn't there and she couldn't do anything to help. Customer service SUCKS! and the fruit is not fresh. I'm a fairly frequent customer, but the last 2 times I went wasent good. The first time I received a bowl with very slimy strawberries, I didn't realize it until I got home, so I end up having to throw the strawberries out. I went back today but this time I asked the girl at the register to make sure the strawberries were fresh, and I told her about the prior visit. She was nice about it, but I still end up getting very slimy strawberries. Now we all know strawberries are not suppost to be slimey. Long story story I end up receiving old slimey strawberries, so I addressed it to that staff and I asked if the strawberries can be exchanged for pineapple. One staff member, took the bowl, she had gloves on, she took the slimey strawberries out the bowl, then with the same hand instead of her changing the gloves because they had strawberries slime on it, she then covered the bowl, so the entire bowl was wet and slimey and she would even try to wipe it off or better yet replace the bowl. Aiden one of the staff members asked if he can change the entire bowl, which I agreed to. I feel like what she did was also an infectious control issue.That was highly unsanitary. I will not be going back to this facility again in nanuet. And please customers what how the staff is handling your food with those gloves that are not being changed. read more

This was the first time that I went to this establishment. I like it it's a nice healthy alternative that can go in the morning and during lunchtime I really enjoy the energy smoothie and the green power drink as well to having a healthy alternative establishment like this around is beneficial for a lot of people who want to be able to keep a certain lifestyle and it gives an opportunity for people to learn about recipes that work well with each other. I'm going to give this place a three star rating because it did what is the job was and I wasn't over a price but it's a great business and I will return again. They do though need to be able to work on the sound of the blenders because they are really loud I know they're doing their job and making the balls and drinks but I need to work on that sounding so loud. read more

Upon entering, I noticed there were many people waiting for orders, so when I approached the cash register to order, I was patient as no one was there to take orders. I waited about 6-8 minutes, during which no one greeted me or advised me they would be with me shortly. I then kindly asked a staff member if anyone was available to take my order. She looked towards another woman, who appeared to be a manager of some sort, and asked if she could take my order. The woman rudely responded "do not take her order." I was taken aback by her unkind words and felt bad for the staff member who asked on my behalf. I proceeded to wait another 2 minutes, in which everyone continued chopping fruits and refilling Nutella bottles, until I decided to leave. I asked for 1 Nutella Acai Bowl plus a Acai 1/2 Gallon Tub which I have purchased several times from this location. I asked Ava B first before I ordered the Acai 1/2 Gallon if they had it in stock. She asked some young lady if they had it and replied yes to Ava. As I was waiting for my order I saw the staff preparing a Acai smaller tub, but I never thought it would be for me, because I knew the size I usually get when I ordered a Acai 1/2 Gallon Tub. I questioned the young lady about the size and told her that I knew what a 1/2 Gallon Tub looked like and she was trying to convince me that it was the same size when what she was giving me was much smaller than my usual and charged me $45.00 as a full size of 1/2 Gallon Tub. We waited 40 minutes for a bowl of frozen smoothie, granola and fruit, as well as 17 people waiting with us, After waiting 30 minutes I approached the man who seemed to be the owner doing nothing, and he replied they were understaffed.
