Don't be fooled by their low prices, the portions are surprisingly massive! Our most recent visit was on a bitterly cold day, but their "warm falafel bowl" drove the chills out and warmed us from head to toe :-). There are 7 sauces with enticing names to choose from - 2 come with the order, and from the 3rd on is extra charge. We tried their "smoky nightshade" (roasted eggplant and pepper), "sweet cardamom" and "spicy cilantro" - very impressive, certainly added great flavor to all the ingredients. Our attentive waiter kept checking on us too see if we needed anything else. It's a small and cozy eatery, with artful decorations and antique looking yet comfortable furniture. For all the vegan lovers out there this is not a spot to miss. Came here for lunch and had the pita kebob. This thing was humongous!! Left me fulfilled and delicious. The staff is super helpful and accommodating. They made a smoothie for my significant other that is keto even though they don't have it on the menu. They are now serving gluten free pizza (I haven't tried yet). My first time I had the blue banana bowl which was beautiful in color and the coconut was a nice crunch. Thru falafal is one of the best I've had it's not dry its moist on the inside with a nice crunchy texture on the outside. I got the chocolate acai bowl which was amazing. Wow! This is a a gem of a place and has some of the best food I have had in Nyack in a long time. A cute and cozy atmosphere with a trendy and yet subtle feel. Two outward facing booths in the front of the house which are just fun to sit at and people watch while you eat. I tried the Impossible Kabab which I can say is absolutely amazing! Also the soup on the top of the menu which is a medley of great things is rated a 10 out of 10! This is a great place for those that are vegan. Their drink choices and desserts are also top notch. I see all the positive reviews and I'm sort of reluctant to post my three stars, but that was my experience. Here's why: I got a falafel with tahini and a smoothie. Falafels come with two sauce choices, so I asked that tahini be put on it and to give me a second tahini on the side. When I got my receipt I saw that apparantly meant an extra charge to my bill. Strike one. Second, I guess I'm old fashioned but when I hear falafel pita, I expect pita with the ingredients stuffed inside . This was falafel ON pita. Now the pita and the falafel balls were terrific; fresh and tasty, but the damn thing was next to impossible to eat since the ingredients were sitting on top of the pita. I tried to eat it folded but the ingredients were falling all over the place. A bloody mess. Strike two. Third, with tax and tip my bill was about $22.00. Great little place in the middle of the cute town of Nyack to grab or sit and enjoy some healthy treats. Their offerings accommodate vegan, gluten free, and even paleo diets. We stopped by for a morning smoothie and fresh-pressed juice run.... I was craving some clean green and went with the 'Hydrator' made with kale, cucumber, pineapple, lemon, ginger and coconut water. It was refreshing and tart. Loved it! Got hubs, a novice smoothie drinker the 'Green Mint Chip' made with bananas, dates, spinach, cocoa, cacao nibs and mint extract. He found it too minty, while I enjoyed it very much. Much to my surprise, we actually wound up switching drinks. I will say the color of this drink wasn't so appealing, but I thought it tasted like what I remember Breyer's mint chocolate chip ice-cream to taste like. Yum! I also perused their to-go goods which included salads, chia parfaits and puddings, baked goods, Yerba Mate' and Kombucha. I grabbed the Paleo chocolate chip banana bread made with dairy-free chips I had a sample of at the counter. It was phenomenal! It was filled with dairy-free chocolate chips, and super moist, even the following day! A winner with the whole crew! I am happy to come back and update Bari's review to four stars. It's nice to see that Dan made some changes. For starters, the falafel pita now comes with three balls!! Hooray!!! The falafels are still delicious! And I don't know if it's in my head, but the pita seems much better as well. They seem bigger and fluffier and hold the balls in together better than before. I also like their green juice. I've had it three times. The first time it was delicious. The second time they put in way too much parsley but I was already home before I tried it. This last time I made sure to tell them to go easy on the parsley and it was delicious. I will keep coming back. read more

Good lord, this place is wonderful! I can't speak highly enough of the wonderful service and the incredible food. I stopped by for some to-go items and picked up Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Balls and the Paleo Banana Nut Bread. Ummm, they must be using crack in their recipes because these were insanely good and now I'll be craving them constantly. The energy balls lasted a grand total of 3 minutes and the banana bread... is ridiculously delicious. I am appalled at my experience due to the lack of care from your cashier. This is the second time he gave us bad service. I did try to contact your direct email but with response. The cashier seemed bothered he had to stop looking at his cell phone to take my husbands order then got the order wrong so he had to fix it wait longer. Then when we got home the pizza we ordered for my daughter was packed upside down so a 2 year old would not eat it. I need a refund for this. I called to speak to a manger right away and the cashier hung up on me when I asked for a manager. I'm disappointed because we really enjoyed Bari and due to the same cashier we will not return if he is there. Too many issues when ever he is the one helping. I always look for places wherever I travel that have interesting and different açaí bowls, and this place absolutely obliterated my standards. The flavor ideas and combinations are so interesting, flavorful, and full of deliciousness. I recommend: Blue banana bowl, Pitaya Bowl, or Maqui Bowl... Tried it twice, not sure when I'll be back. Here's what you need to know about the falafel pita at Bari. * Want 3 falafel's in your pita? That'll be an extra $1.50. Otherwise you're stuck with 2 falafel balls. Cheap move, Bari. * The pita is stale. Also, incomprehensibly, Bari chose pita without a pocket. In other words, the pita sandwiches are more like stiff bread tacos. * While the falafel tastes right, it is mushy, instead of crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Some fine tuning of the friers or cooking time is needed. * Cilantro, radish, and pickled onions are the stock toppings. Bari, cilantro is the wrong flavor profile, consider switching to parsley. Kudos on the pickled onions, they are tasty. The radish is pedestrian. Consider offering lettuce, tomato, and hummus as potential additions. * The sauces are the highlight. Smoked nightshade (same flavor as baba ghanouj) and sweet cardamom are the standouts. Very creative, Bari! The garlic sauce is good. The tahini is basic. In sum, while in principle Bari is a welcome addition, the execution is lacking. Hope you're able to improve things in the near future. read more

OK, I am ecstatic. I have been in the doldrums since Sweet Pea closed in Nyack, as I went there at least twice a week for a quick healthy lunch. I have just bought the falafel bowl here at Bari and it is my dream come true. It is super hot-spicy which is great for me, but I think they're going to have to offer a toned-down version, and I don't remember seeing a warning that it's this spicy. I'd call it a 9 on a scale of 1-10, using US standards. Anyway, it is fresh and bursting with flavor. Can't wait to start eating these regularly. I'm already looking forward to next time. Service was very friendly, but it's obvious they're working the kinks out, so go with a little time to spare until they get their sea legs. read more

Why it took me 2 weeks to come in is beyond me... they are a hop and a skip down my stairs literally. I saw an Instagram post about a build your own oatmeal with lots of toppings, and I was very tempted! Also snagged myself a pita falafel that I ate on the run- so messy, but so good, but so messy!
