I stopped by for the first time yesterday and was honestly a little overwhelmed by the massive variety of smoothies and add-ons. Pressed for time, I went with the Lemon Ginger Spinach veggie blend, recommended by the incredibly helpful and patient Courtney. I couldn't have been happier--it was the perfect sweet and refreshing post-workout recovery blend. Impressed and wanting more, I used their app to order the Gladiator Chocolate smoothie for pickup after work... and wow--so chocolatey and decadent! Prices are super reasonable for the portion sizes, and the convenience is unmatched. Definitely my new go-to. Don't hesitate--stop by, you won't be disappointed.

Had there been something local nearby, we should have opted for that. SK offers various drinks (refreshers, weight management, vegan, favorites, etc). Their smallest size is 20 oz (around $8 each) and goes up to 44 oz, which seems like you're just asking for sugar trouble. They try to use clever marketing to put a veil of healthiness on their drinks like added ginger or a boost of this or that. Also they don't put the ingredients or nutrients information anywhere to clearly let consumers know what's in the drinks. Service was lackluster and not personalized, with staff milling around creating drinks and not knowing what was going on holistically. We waited for our drinks while everyone was getting theirs because they were put in the to-go fridge with no callouts to our name. They have a rewards system that may be worth it if you patronize them often. For a small place, they also have a bathroom which is great.

This was only my second time having Playa Bowls and I really enjoyed my meal! I ordered a hot…read moreoatmeal bowl with strawberries, blueberries, sliced almonds, hemp seeds, cacao nibs and nutella. The oatmeal was plain but the toppings sweetened it up. Super filling and satiating. My friend ordered the Nutelloco coconut bowl with half pitaya, which was not an up charge! The bowl included banana, blueberry flax granola, strawberry, coconut flakes cacao nibs, Nutella and she added extra mango. Although she paid for extra mango, it did not make it on to her fruit bowl. We were offered a $3 credit to a playa bowl member account but we are not members. We do not have an account with playa bowl, we chose guest check out. They said they could not refund online orders and we would have to come back to the store for them to remake a new bowl. By that point we were already at work so that was not an option. We currently have no resolution to this issue. I placed an order ahead of time (literally at 3am from their website) and had no issues with the pickup or the order being ready on time. Pickup was smooth, seamless and pleasant. The atmosphere makes you feel like you walked into a store on the shore. Very beach inspired, colorful and fun. TIP- The website does not list if the oatmeal is hot or not but when placing an online order there is a "special note" section where you can request the oatmeal to be warm.

I've been to many other locations and trust me, it's NOT supposed to smell like this. The staff and customer service is very inconsistent. You either get a hello and wonderful service. Or you get a girl, hunched over on the counter, eating a playa bowl and on her phone, who annoyingly says "hi". I stopped going to this location. I've received old, slimy and rotten fruit (esp the strawberries; more than once). You put in request and they don't follow it. Other locations I can recommend would be Ridgewood, Westwood, and Bronxville (THEEEE BEST LOCATION). Trust me, try another location and you will never spend another penny at Nanuet playa bowl! This restaurant is located on route 59 close to a central area; with its own parking. So if you are a Latin food lover this place could be for you. I went on the weekend, and for a new place there was a lot of people present. I tried the beef empanadas which comes with dipping sauces which bring them to life. I also had a guanabana soursop drink which was nice and cold, if there is an option for more creamy and sweet I would opt for that since it is cold weather. I also had the Salteado mixta with white rice and fried plantain. This dish has beef, shrimp, and chicken and sweet pepper strips. All foods were hot, the Salteado came out on a hot dish which kept the temperature. Overall the place was nice and clean, I sat in at the bar area as seating was easier for one person. I would come back as there are many good options to try. The food was good.

The place is nicely decorated and has a very cool vibe. To start we had the Mini Empanadas and the Guacamole con Chicharron, both were scrumptious and the portions were more than enough for 4 of us to share. My son and I had the Churssasco, which was cooked to perfection and accompanied with Rice and plantains (Platanos Maduros). We also ordered sides of bean and Papas Fritas (which reminded my wife of the fries her grandmother used to make). My wife got the Arepa de Pollo, which was exquisite. My nephew ordered the Arroz con Pollo, which was great and such a large portion. My son and nephew split the flan between them, they are still talking about how delicious it was. The service was just perfect, the staff were attentive and friendly. The owner even came out to introduce himself and check on us. It was such an all around great experience, I can't wait to go back.

They carry dairy products from a farm across the street, local grains, cheeses, and bulk maple syrup from farms upstate. Beautiful bulk and produce sections. Hidden juice/smoothie bar in the back! I have watched this Co-op evolve over many years. They had some growing pains in the past (seems like any of the negative reviews are over 10 years old), but they must have taken feedback seriously, and consistently re-blossomed. They are now, again, my favorite place to find healthy food and a wonderful sense of community. Whole Foods is handy, but not cheap, and cannot compete with the amount of in-season local food available here. I love that we can have this option to support local farms, and keep our money in our regional community.
