Stopped in because I was craving something like this. I got the 8th ave bowl and added strawberries. The place itself is very nicely built out. The young lady who helped me was very polite and quick making my order. Only reason for 4 stars is the acai mix was a bit too frozen, it seemed to need to be thawed maybe another 15 minutes or so. read more

Seriously such a cool playa bowls location!!! Honestly; I know Im super late on the Playa Bowls craze but I AM HERE FOR THIS. I always remember what I get but this time I got one of their special bowls where the base was made of oranges, pineapple, coconut milk, banana & the super kind girl working the counter allowed me to add and subsitute a bunch of things. Wish I remembered her name because she was awesome. So I added kale to the base & it was topped with chia seeds, hemp seeds, mango, sliced almonds and coconut flakes. Very delicious!!! Loved it so much. My boyfriend got the electric mermaid which he loved but it's a tad too sweet for me! We will definitely be back (and pro tip: take your bowl to the marina) read more

I placed an order tonight on DoorDash and it was confirmed at 8:35pm. A dasher went to the store to get my order by 8:40. The person turned him away and cancelled my order with 25 minutes left before they close. I was told that their protocol is to not accept orders after 8:30. Due to Dashers not coming in time. Never mind the fact that he was there and talking to her. They still canceled the order. According to the door dasher, he was first told that they won't accept orders after 8:45 but when he pointed out that it was 8:40, it changed to they don't accept orders after 8:30. I don't trust that this was truthful. Very very poor customer service!! read more

Most delicious and fresh real fruit combinations I've ever had. These bowls are like being in HAWAII!! I'm a big fan of this store. I love every concoction they have created. To be honest I had no idea what half the ingredients were. I never heard of these fruits until PLAYA BOWLS came to our town. There are several ways to get PLAYA BOWLS. I can order it online. I can use an app like Uber eats. I'm sure there is other ways. I'm grateful that PLAYA BOWLS is there and they take very good care of the customers. The atmosphere of the restaurant is, fresh and summer like all year round. It's like you're at a beach resort, ordering a fresh drink and fruit bowl. Today I visited Playa around 12:30. The only customers were myself and another man. His order was being taken care of by 2 gentleman behind the the counter while two other gentlemen behind the counter were talking.....talking........talking while I stood waiting for someone to ask me what I would like. One of the two men behind the counter talking looked right at me and continued to talk.... I WALKED OUT. It's always fun to try a new trendy place so I was excited to finally give Playa Bowls a try. There is a rather large menu of bowls and juices written on the wall. Be warned...this place is fairly pricey, in my opinion. I paid about $10 for my tropical/sunshine bowl. It was delicious and very filling. Absolutely perfect for a hot day! Not to mention this place, along with the actual food, is SUPER Instagramable (if you're into that kind of thing). The staff were all very friendly and the service was fast. There is plenty of seating inside the store. I did not see a private lot, so I believe there is only street parking. I would definitely return on a Summer/Spring day for another bowl. Wow! What a selection they have!! I usually frequent a place in Keyport which has a small selection of smoothie bowls, so it was a little overwhelming at first! I got the Dragon Berry which is pitaya based topped with blueberries, strawberries, granola, and honey. They really load on the fruit! The color of pitaya was a shock since it was BRIGHT pink, but was delicious! The kids making the bowls didn't have much of a personality but they did make yummy and quick bowls. First time eating at Playa Bowls and I'm a fan! You can choose from acai, pitaya, green(kale), coconut, chia pudding, oatmeal, or mixed. They also serve smoothies and fresh juices. Everything is made to order. If you never had it, you could be a little overwhelmed like I was. I ordered a Protein Acai bowl. It had acai and protein blend, with granola, banana and peanut butter. I thought the bowl was delicious but eating peanut butter can be a little tedious, so I will forgo any bowls with peanut butter in the future! Acai bowls are pretty refreshing! It felt really healthy eating it. Although pricey, you get quality fresh ingredients made to order. It was not busy at all! Another yelper pointed out to me that it gets crowded at the Belmar location. Restaurant is clean and there is plenty of seating. I'll will be back to try other bowls! read more

So Playa Bowls has incredible açaí bowls, with many perfect combinations, which you can also customize and mix around. However, if you really want to appreciate Playa Bowls even more, try getting an açaí bowl somewhere else. It's just so disappointing. There is no comparison. Something about Playa Bowl's açaí base is brighter in flavor and much more delicious. Whenever I go to NJ to visit, this is usually a stop, especially if it's nice weather. Again, I now no longer bother trying to get an açaí bowl where I live in Queens because I know I will be disappointed. Love that they have a loyalty card; I think it's always appreciated when you frequent somewhere with $10 products and there's incentive to get one free. (I would like to point out that I do believe $9/$10 is a fair price for a bowl, especially with their quality.) As soon as I stepped into this trendy spot, I was excited to try Playa Bowls. The decor looks like the lovechild of a hipster and a beach bum. The menus are scrawled on giant chalkboard wall panels, and you can sense the "good vibes" all around. The food was fresh and prepared quickly. I had an Electric Mermaid bowl, and it was delicious but very sweet, and likely not as healthy as one might think. Bad part : I ordered my food to go , and they didn't give me any utensils or napkins , so by the time I got a spoon someplace else, the passenger seat of my car was drenched in melted dragon fruit, with its unmistakably vibrant fuchsia hue. read more

Worst customer service. I have never been to a Playa Bowls before and have heard wonderful things. I am vegan and couldn't find on the menu if the protein was plant based. I asked the cashier when I was ordering and she immediately gave me attitude saying "it could be- if I wanted it to be." Ok, that was kind of weird but didn't think anything of it. Ordered a Dulce Shake with plant based protein, which has banana, chocolate protein, and peanutbutter with coconut milk. I took my order and walked out. Took a sip when I got outside and thought it just tasted like banana and didn't have chocolate or peanutbutter in it. My husband thought the same thing. I went back inside and asked if I had the right shake and if there was chocolate and peanutbutter in it. She said... "yes, it's plant based". I said it just tastes like banana. She goes, "that's weird." And shrugs. I'm not sure if this review is exhibiting how rude she was but I won't be going back to Playa Bowls since I had to go home and remake the shake with peanutbutter and chocolate. read more

They kept taking pictures with our food for their instagram, shoving it close to their faces, and they were mocking two customers for asking if the place was open (they closed 2 hours early because of power outages, even though the power outages lasted only a minute or two). In red bank waited on line to find out none of the granola was vegan. And when questioned about not washing their blenders in between they said "if you ask we can wash it before yours" this day in age cross contamination is a big concern with allergies and all. Plus if you voluntarily leave something out of your diet for a decade it's not the best idea to unknowingly reintroduce it (ethical reasons aside). And finally if you boast about how heathy you are please proudly display your nutritional facts I'm sure in actuality it will be surprising. Furthermore I wouldn't be writing this review if I wasn't made to feel ridiculous for asking these questions of your staff. if i could give zero stars i would ordered one bowl through the Playa Bowls app from the Red Bank location for delivery and have been waiting 2+ hours for it!!!! called the store over TEN TIMES during the span of the 2+ hours to ask for an update and delivery status and nobody answered AT ALL. it's a Wednesday night and you can't answer the phone?! ridiculous. what kind of establishment are you trying to run when your employees can't answer the phone for their PAYING CUSTOMERS?! now it's almost 7pm, they are closing, and i still have no order. do yourself a favor and NEVER ORDER FROM HERE! a total waste of my $17 dollars! i want my money back!! read more

Had a great experience at my visit to Playa Bowls Red Bank this past week. I had experienced a Playa Bowl this past summer in Asbury Park, and loved it! I some time before a work committment, so I stopped in to Playa Red Bank to grab a great bowl, and some coffee. Their selection of bowls is fantastic! I chose a coconut based bowl, and customized it with some added fresh blueberries. The bowl was just what I needed! So good! And the staff- a young man, and young woman, were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful! I really enjoyed the staff very much. The space is a big open space, with a cool vibe. And they were playing great music! I asked the young man what they were playing, and he told me what Pandora station I was hearing. So fun! I loved my whole experience at Playa! I look forward to stopping by again the next time I am in the area. read more

I'm giving them two stars because the service is TERRIBLE. Knowing they take forever to get an order out, I attempted to place a to go order via telephone. I was told they don't take telephone orders and that I needed to place the order online. I placed the order online and was told it would be ready in twenty minutes (oh, and they charge a .50 service fee for online orders). I arrived twenty minutes later then waited an additional ten minutes before anyone asked me why/What I was waiting for. When I told them I placed an online order I was told it never printed out. While the food is great, avoid this location if you can unless you have time to waste. read more

Took 35 minutes to make my bowl after ordering online, of course the store front was completely empty when I got there, no excuses about it being busy. Multiple times they have not given me the points for my playa bowls account, despite them typing in my phone number. This never happens at the Marlboro location, neither waiting an astronomical amount of time or being shorted on the points. Not sure why this store can't get it together. This is my favorite place to go every time I come and visit the Red Bank area. The ratio of toppings to content (chia pudding, açaí, etc.) is always on point. They are quick, tasty and generally pretty healthy--basically everything I love. Definitely a must try in the area. read more
