I moved from LA to Ventura county, haven't touched cards in years, let alone play NLH, but I figured I would give a call to hear about the action at this casino. Mind you I've never been here, but I called twice to ask about the tables (buy-in, limits, # of tables - basically the action), but the man who answered literally said "hello" and immediately hung up TWICE before I could even say a word. ANY peak of interest I had to drive over to the casino, test out the rooms, or play a little, essentially became 0. I guess thanks? For saving my time and/or my money lol read more

I was bit by a wild rodent in their card room. I asked for medical reimbursement since I had to go to ER and they banned me from the casino and their GM (Marina) told me it's a Fair Grounds issue not their problem. Zero stars, small poker room and all the dealers play there all the time. Bent cards and urine smell don't go here if you want to have a pleasant evening without a tetanus shot. read more

Where do I start? The casino only cares about short term profit. You can't even flush the urinals without them leaking all over your feet which has been a problem for the last 8 months. The bar is literally worthless as it takes more than 10 minutes to get a drink and they will not hesitate to cut you off if you have over 3 ultras in a hour. I honestly would never come here if it wasn't 5 minutes from my house and so I would honestly say the drive to LA is worth it. The staff by far is amazing which is another reason why I come back but everything else is terrible. read more

I actually used to adore this place and Followed its ventures from the Main Street area. Especially as local circuit player between. Bike- commerce/ gardens/ Hollywood and hustler. This was best exterior perimeter LA place before Chumash. Unfortunately management lacking skills on handling simple issues is a huge issue. I played Omaha for a couple hours after a doctors appointment then changed to go sun bath at beach in a bodysuit. Jake actually specifically used that as reason for him kicking me out .... Which is crazy. I was wearing A body suit(tank top) and jeans. The majority of time I had a kimono type sweater covering my shoulders due to the marks on my back from testing and jeans. It was so demeaning and embarrassing to be approached and talked at the table that way. Everybody at table was watching intently and asking why I was being booted. He only said this after I asked to speak to him as to exactly why I was being removed when he indicated I had been warned about drinking which I never was and even verified with security about this. They acknowledged I was most definitely not warned or cut off as I was not causing issues. I did however get extremely frustrated with Jake putting me In such a situation and announced it because of the ludicrous of it it. This place is terrible! It's old and dirty. The cheap beer is $10. It stinks and the people are old and cranky. We were trying to sit down at a Blackjack table. There were 3 seats open and two of us. The old guys were manspreading and refused to let us sit. The dealer finally asked if we were waiting to play. We said yes and the players were very rude. Security guard snapped at us to move out of the "walking area". We were literally trying to sit. Then this regular was so rude. He kept demanding I play on his command. I told him I'm good and he continued to scold me each round. We had enough and left. Never again! read more

My wife and I are a regular customer. My wife was born in 1989 which is 35 years old. Since she is a regular customer, I don't know why she has to show her ID every time she goes. Doesn't the manager SMART enough to remember their regular customer? If he is not smart enough to know his customer, I would recommend they should hire a new floorman manager who ls more capable appreciate the customer more. If my wife get check ID, everyone should get their ID check. It is very unprofessional and racist of a petite woman. Also, if you want to lose alot of money, then you go here because this casino is rig. On Baccarat, the whole shoe will not have a single dragon and panda. Also players or banker can go out like 9 times consecutively. read more

Good morning! Its 3:37am I luckily got a ride home from a costumer/player of yours at this time! I was there for at least 4 to 5 hours giving players casino business, i love your place but tonight i was disappointed, i had called my uber to pick me up, my phone died, i went upstairs to ask for a charger (nicely) my phone was about to turn on, when the security came up to me and told me i had to leave, that the casino was close, (tall Hawaiian looking guy with a pony tail) im a business owner myself amd thats not a way to treat your costumers, i definitely expect from management to take further action about this situation ! I have been a costumer for years, you probably dont need my business but ill will definitely gonna do the impossible to get rid of your hawaiian looking security guy! I've given up playing here. I was a regular in the 3 6 big o but they increased the rake so much it just isn't worth playing. It's a shame as I really loved playing there. Floor people and dealers are great - unfortunately upper management have no idea how to cater for customers, which is why it's so hard to get a game in anything other than no limit. read more

waited for 2 hours for a table at a tournament. Immediately got to point where i had to go all in or nothing.

I don't always win but I enjoy playing here. What other casino/cars room has windows at all, much less sweeping views of the Pacific?!? They spread Big O (5 card Omaha) my favorite, although only on Fridays and Mondays right when they open at 11:00. The food is good but not cheap or any sort of poker rate. But you do earn $1/hour for playing with a players card. Just remember to bring it and/or add it to the Stocard app (found in the App Store.) if you need a replacement it costs $5, but after five hours of play you've earned that money back. Players and staff are friendly. Dealers are very good for the most part, not too many mistakes. read more

This happened 6/29/24, Saturday, about 8:30 pm. I've played poker for over 30 years, at dozens of different casinos. I've never been treated rudely, that is until the floor man Jake decided to make a sarcastic statement, which I felt was rude. It was bad enough to bring tears to my eyes. This is what happened. I had been playing for over four hours. All at once, three people left our table, putting us at five people. Then another person said he was leaving after one more hand. I asked the dealer if she'd call floor, since I saw empty seats at other tables, so I thought we could perhaps move to other tables. As this was happening, another person was seated at our table, which now put us at five temporarily, but that's still light. Jake came over and said we'd draw for seats. There seemed to be no problem. I then asked if the fact I had been at the table the longest, meant anything. He said no. We drew for three seats. The fourth person was put on the empty waiting list. The fifth person was leaving anyway. I believe Jake mentioned some table numbers as I was gathering up my chips and jacket, however I didn't hear. He then decided to be sarcastic with me by saying "since you wanted to break the game so badly, I thought you would've been watching where I had pointed." He then showed me where to sit and I put my chips down at my new seat. My feelings were hurt, as I felt he shouldn't have been sarcastic with me. Therefore, I went to the desk and asked him why he was sarcastic to me, because I thought it was rude. He said " you were the one that was rude because you broke the game and insisted on getting a seat at another table." By now, I had tears welled up in my eyes, because his rudeness completely took me by surprise. I then asked if it was okay at The Players Casino to be rude to players. Apparently he didn't like me questioning his rudeness, as he then said "I can ask you to leave at anytime." So by now I felt like he was threatening me, because he was implying that if I kept questioning him, he'd throw me out. I'm a 64 year-old, soon to retire teacher, who is looking forward to playing poker in my retirement, I live about 90 miles north of Ventura, and sometimes drive out of my way to play here. Now, I doubt I'll want to go out of my way to play here, since I was treated so poorly by Jake. On another note, the food is excellent as are the food servers. But Jake seriously seems like he gets satisfaction out of being rude and throwing people out, like he did to the other woman who also complained about him on this forum. read more

Been here 5 times. The reviews on here are bogus.. I drove an hour past this place to Chumash due to how low the reviews were (the poker options & wait time up there were laughable). Great place, one of my favorites. Permanent security or police presence outside would make this the ideal spot for poker. Love this spot though... Looking through the reviews and I'll be honest, only a moron would give this place less then 5 stars. Hard working floor men that know all regulars and the games they play, dealers are polite always and same as the floor men they know the regulars and treat the new guests just as well. I've been playing at the player's casino since it was on the avenue and after everything that it's gone through in the last 3 or so years I'd say it's the best anyone could ask. read more

It's a card room. Staff is friendly, the view is great. The lack of food and drink service really degrades the experience. They did say last I was there they had one thing on the menu, burger and fries and it's $18.00. The entire table laughed and we played until we got hungry and left. Who is going to pay $18.00 for a hamburger from a place that can't make anything but a hamburger? Pretty sure there's not a Michelin star chef on premises making hamburgers guys. It legitimately seemed like they didn't want to actually sell any. The other knock is the lack of security. There's no security at the doors and being at the fairgrounds it's really exposed out there. It's only a matter of time before something terrible happens in this unsecured lot to someone leaving with cash. They have security for their staff, but I guess the actual players are a bit on their own coming and going with cash. It could certainly feel a lot safer. The rake is really high considering the other faults. I don't mind the slightly higher rake, but for it I kind of expect more of the basics. read more

So a poker dealer, Bryan B. slightly older than middle aged, must've been having a bad day or maybe he hadn't had his lunch yet? First he chastised me on speaking about a hand at the table in a VERY rude and angry manner. I did make a comment about a playing hand underway, but it was innocent and accidental. That is a no-no at the table. It is understandle to be asked by the dealer to not speak in such instances, but for a first time offense where there wasn't much money on the line, you'd think he would be more cool headed about the situation, and not go off, but that's okay, it was pretty much my bad. I was cool with letting that go, but guess he wasn't. Marsha definitely needed a snickers bar. The thing I wasn't okay with, was about 10 minutes later I hadn't put my chips in yet to play the hand and he looks at me and mockingly speaks in the tone of a deaf person I guess you would say, or someone mentally handicapped. He put up a mocking hand gesture and all??? Which struck me as really odd. Just highly inappropriate. So now we banter back and forth until he gets up from the table. My problem, isn't so much the mocking. I wasn't offended, and can trash talk with the best of 'em. MY PROBLEM IS, if you want people to come back to your card room, you want people to feel comfortable. Especially beginers! Which Im not, but I did make a rookie mistake. He didn't know that though. He doesn't know me from Adam. Poker players LOVE beginners, but novice players would feel uncomfortable with this dealer's etiquette. Poker for beginers is already intimidating enough. I've been playing at PCC on and off for over 15 years. Never had an issure until now. I have never even left a yelp review before. LoL. But that dude needs a Modelo attitude adjustment. Not a bad little casino. It's mostly locals & regulars here so finding anything less than nuts & rocks is tough, but it's not a bad place to play. The food is ok, the wait staff tries hard to keep up, and overall things are run fairly well. Early in the day during the week they are sometimes hesitant to open tables & the tournies gave lately been restructured and have very fast levels and increased admin fees. If you're looking for true casino feel, this isn't really your place. They do have some Cal Games running, but it's really just a nice stop for the locals. read more

Good action. Lots of different hold um games. I think they have black jack in the back room. They try on the food side, but it's still a little players club in Ventura so don't expect to much. Full bar. But if your looking to play some cards, they have action tables. read more

I must clarify that this review is for the RESTAURANT/BAR/STAFF only....only because I don't gamble. This place is fantastic! The booths are made out of beautiful wood and everything is super clean! It has the cutest patio outside also. I was there as a performer on a Friday night and although it wasn't that busy, this is a pretty new place. So if you have a family member or friend that likes to play poker, bring them here while you have a nice dinner while listening to live music. It is seriously a really nice little venue. It's a little shocking to non-gamblers when you walk in the front door because its just white walls and people at tables everywhere playing but once you walk through and get to the restaurant it's super lovely. And the staff- they are EXCELLENT. Extremely NICE and COURTEOUS! I really enjoyed my experience there and look forward to going back even though I live an hour and a half away! read more
