Drove here for the first time since a bus from my local community center was going. It was an easy drive and definitely the closest casino to San Fernando Valley. The drive is a little boring and not a lot of stops on the way. But it is only an hour away. Definitely in the middle of nowhere. Very nice and new looking. I took my 99 year old mom in a wheelchair so I was prepared to pay a ton of money for valet. Very happy to find out it's free Monday to Thursday. EVERYONE from cleaning to service desk was so nice. I hope that pleasant and happy personality continues and not because they are fairly new. I liked the spacious casino and the square floor plan. It was easy to maneuver the wheelchair in between the machines. Everything was very clean and well maintained. I didn't like ordering at a kiosk. I figured it out but kinda rushed because I felt pressure to hurry up. I had a little trouble using my players card. I could have looked for staff but I got through it. I ordered tacos. They were okay. The salsa was lacking flavor and heat. It was chunky ketchup. There were super aggressive flies! I made a comment and one of the staff admitted they closed the food court down for two hours because of the flies. Get some natural oils or a something! It was very annoying eating overpriced mediocre food. The drink service was super nice but I wish there were access to a water fridge. A water fountain is definitely needed in the food court! 5 stars for The Roost. Chef Jose, Chris and Aaron did well. I was on the gaming floor and they kept my food warm until I arrived for pick up. Food is great at this location. The food is saving this place. BUT be warned as I tell all of my gaming friends / meetups and Inner circles DO NOT come here for gaming. As an ICON member (should be renamed WeCon) and top tier player at many locations across the state I would be foolish to recommend this place for gaming. My seventh time here since its inception and it's been the worst time I've ever had at any casino. Service from floor members are so subpar in comparison (that's another review across social media). Now, I understand the rules of engagement but when it's blatantly obvious and the machines DO NOT engage the player but just take your money, it's programmed to do so. The funny part is that it's noticeable for seasoned players. My things is engage me with my entertainment dollars because you're fortunate we all decide on their establishment. So they should be grateful to their patrons. But this place is NOT a place to come play unless playing and ensuring you'll lose is your thing. Then you're in the right place!! Stopped by this new casino on my way to San Diego for the weekend. Beautiful on the outside. Has a modern look to it without being too flashy. The inside has a basic layout with gaming tables on the west and east end of the gaming floor. Multiple stations for ATM/ ticket redemption which makes for less lines. Did not stick around to try anything besides some tables and slots so I can't touch on food or other amenities. TONS of open lot parking. Finally made it to Hard Rock Casino! First of all, when I walked in and smelled the newness with a touch of cigarette smell...I was immediately taken back to Vegas! I was highly impressed and think that this casino is beautiful and more importantly - located here in Kern County. My boyfriend and I went in the morning hours to avoid the crowd and took a tour of the place. Many options for food and drink. I'm pretty sure I saw: a steak house, Asian food, Italian and Mexican. Sergio was our waiter and he was by far one of the best waiters we've ever had, anywhere! He was polite and was all so eager to answer all the questions we had. He made us feel as if we were the only ones dining. We counted 4 people who help at out table of 2. The food was delicious, scrumptous and the portions were impressive. Thank goodness we decided to share the bone in rib eye steak. After each of having our own salad and the appetizer of mouthwatering thick cut bacon. It was steak thickness. Came here with low expectations, yet high hopes, and left with a lot of disappointment. 30 minutes south of Bakersfield this new casino is off the 99 to the west. The casino is beautiful and well themed. It's full of celebrities and some of their iconic outfits, from Chappel Roan to Janet Jackson, you should definitely find someone's music you like. There's a good array of slot machines as well and the food in the marketplace cafe looked good too. That's basically where the positives end. I came around 8:30 AM on a Saturday morning and wanted to check out the players club since I got an offer in the email for some free play. There were no hosts there and just some machines but none of them seem to recognize my name or profile. I then waited by the players club around 9 where some staff started to set up the players club but they were ignoring us standing there. I didn't know if they were directly with the players club or not but eventually someone that was also waiting asked when they would open and they said 10 AM! You see a bunch of people standing there and you don't say anything to ask if they needed anything. Ridiculous. The staff in general seem like they don't want to be there and were very unpleasant. I was walking to the table games hoping to gamble and as I was checking it out, a worker started moving chairs like 20 feet from the table to clean them. I'm not sure why he had to move them that far out but it was strange since I have seen people clean tons of tables before but not like this. Speaking of table games, there were only a few tables open and even before 9 AM, minimums were $25 for Blackjack! Insane! The only staff that had a more positive experience was Jill at the cashiers desk. I tried to see if they could help with me with my account but apparently I was not in the system even showing the actual card number on my account. Which is weird since I had the email with my account number right there and still didn't find anything. Strange. Why advertise for something that I am "longer in the system". Sketch! This place needs better management or better guest service at least. I decided to wait until a few months after the grand opening in hopes they would work out the kinks, but there seems to be a lot more to workout here. Even looking at the attached image of Janet's shoes by the high limit room and the description shows a mismatch. With Yaamava, Chumash, Pechanga, there are definitely much better casinos within LA area to check out than this. I would not waste more time coming out here. read more

We finally decided to brave the crowd and head to the Hard Rock Casino after 2 months. We went on a Friday night and although it was packed, it wasn't so busy that I wanted to leave. The place gives the Vegas vibe immediately once the waft of cigarette smoke slaps you in the face but it's still is pretty. We went directly to the Unity kiosk to get our cards. One of the 2 machines was broken so it took us about 25 minutes to get our cards with only 5 people ahead of us. I gambled a little while we waited for our table at the restaurant, Deep Cut. They got me for about $160 before it was time to eat. We stayed for a bit after we ate and watched a roulette table since it was too crowded for the hubs to get in on the action. I will definitely come back again to try the other restaurants but probably on a weeknight. read more

I had a fantasic time at the Hardrock Casino!! I'm not to big of a gambler but I had a fun time. The Marketplace is the place to go when the DJ shows up and got us dancing! Staff all wonderful the Bartenders and amazing and staff at machines are really helful, I spilled a drink and they came and cleaned it up and made sure I didn't feel bad about the situation. I also signed up for a unity card and was pleasantly suprised that I got a free spin for a bonus game. The unity card took me a min to figure out and remeber to use it but glad I got it. Some things to keep in mind, its a bit of a drive but Uber/Lyft drivers do head over. I recommend if you plan on eating at the Hardrock Cafe, make a reservation. Very excited for Phase 2 and the resort to be built so next time we can just spend the night. read more

The place is absolutely gorgeous, clean and sparkling, and full of fun things to see including rock and pop memorabilia that line the walls. The workers are friendly and helpful, and though the place was crowded, it was still enjoyable to be there. There was a great shop, several restaurants including an Asian fusion place, steakhouse, and of course their signature café. Plus, there is a food court with several options. This is also where we got a couple of drinks. The prices weren't bad and they gave a nice pour for my White Russian. We drove in yesterday to check it out, it is indeed beautiful! The line was super long for the players card, but they do have a kiosk where you could make your own card by scanning your drivers license, which was pretty convenient ! Machines were pretty tight and we didn't see anybody around us getting hand pay or big wins, we were only there for a couple hours on a Saturday morning and this was our impression 1. Really hot in there. I had a short sleeve T-shirt on and was literally sweating just sitting there playing the slots, Crank up the AC guys ! Who wants to sit and play if they're totally uncomfortable? 2. No bathroom attendant! I walked in and sat down and guess what no toilet paper ! Luckily, I carry a small pack of facial tissue in my purse ! Then I come out to wash my hands and there is no soap ! What the heck? Come on, soap and toilet paper are the bare minimum that you can supply in your bathrooms. 3. Before we left, I was craving an iced coffee, so we walk up to the coffee bar and the worker was just standing there doing something never made eye contact with us never gave us direction. We were just waiting for her to take our order.. then after a minute, I mentioned that we were ready and she said oh, and pointed to a small card on the counter that you have to scan the QR code to order.. also pointed to some kiosks that we could order from, long story short, we walked away frustrated without our coffee because when we tried to use the kiosk and the QR code thing, we just could not figure out what we were doing wrong. Maybe this kind of non-contact thing works for some people, but we are older and we do get a little frustrated with some of the technology and we're used to having attendants help out with these things. read more

Finally was able to visit it on Black Friday (which might be a bad idea due to it being a holiday) and to no surprise, it was full.
