They took the time to walk us through everything and made sure we felt comfortable and knew exactly what to expect. The owner was especially amazing with my daughter. He personally showed her every detail of how to maneuver the drift cart, patiently coached her, and even ran out to help her whenever she needed it. You could genuinely tell that he cared about making sure she had a great experience--and she absolutely did! She had the BEST time, and watching her have so much fun was the perfect way to end her birthday weekend. We purchased the 5-pack of rides, and there's no doubt we'll be back again soon! The slides and play structures were really cool and my little one had such a fun time running around and exploring. I especially appreciated that they have a separate toddler/younger kids area which made it feel safer and less overwhelming. As a parent, I noticed the staff did a good job keeping things organized and the overall environment felt pretty clean. There were also plenty of places for parents to sit while still being able to watch their kids play, which I appreciated. But it's either my hubby, I, or the both of us with my baby the whole time. Parking was easy too and check-in was pretty smooth. I do wish the place was a little bigger, but I also understand indoor playgrounds are probably expensive to maintain and operate these days. Just hope that you're not there during peak hours or during another reservation! Giving life to brick and mortar malls, Activate Dublin benefits from a huge parking lot fit for the shared space among many shops and eateries. While its actual footprint isn't too big, it does sure attract a lot of folks here, especially during the weekends. The crowds can be a huge turn off, not only because of the congestion, but also because they directly impact your opportunity to enjoy your time here. Time is a key factor at Activate. For those unfamiliar, you pay based on the amount of time you play to be inside the play area, all tracked with an electronic wristband used to scan into games. Once you start a game, your timer runs whether you're actively in a game or not (better hope you don't need the restroom or need any breaks). Therefore, with peak times, you'll likely be spending half of your time waiting for the next game. Granted, the waits aren't too long but it's time (and money) spent nevertheless. Each of the games have similar mechanics utilizing lights, switches, and objects to score points (think mini games within a party game). There were about 10-12 different games and at the site, you can walk into the game area to view the game previews to get a glimpse of the objectives and tutorials, that is if you're over 6 years of age and not accompanied by someone under 6 years of age. That's right, even if you're holding your kid who is nearly 6 years old and simply perusing the screens from afar, you are not allowed in the area for liability concerns; the manager was extremely strict about that (although the other staff members were more lenient and allowed us in to peek at what all the hype was about while our older kid played among their friends). For those who do plan to spend time here, they do have lockers for your belongings. Please also keep in mind waters are not allowed in the hallway; the manager was also very strict about this. The payment options are truly limited by the time you plan to spend. There is no unlimited play per hour option as you may have expected for something like this (like Round1). The experience with staff here was mixed. Most of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the games and media available to learn about them but the manager didn't leave a good impression on us and truly sucked the fun out of the whole experience, despite us only being there as chaperones and observers. Overall, Activate Dublin absolutely activated something in me that wasn't entirely fun, although the folks who did end up playing seemed to have a decent, albeit repetitive time. If gaming is a passion and getting active with company while doing so excites you, consider checking Activate Dublin out, however be wary that the business side of the experience may not align with your motivations. Bringing arcades back is an awesome idea but I think Activate Dublin has a bit more initiatives they'd want to consider activating to bolster customer satisfaction and engagement.

(Ages…read more1-11) Pros: -They helped set up/clean up -Coaches were friendly -Up to however many kids you wanted -Reasonable price for party Cons: -No real communication between owner Jenny and coaches (coach was unaware of size of party) -Lots of waiting around for instruction -no water break -kids were told to not go in foam pit -not organized The kids were kind of kept away from the foam pit. Almost like the foam pit was sacred space. There were 3 coaches but only 1 really giving instruction. So instead of 3 groups of kids it was just 1 big group. Lots of waiting around for instruction. They played hide and seek for most of the time. I had a few kids come tell me they wanted to play in the foam pit and use the foam pads but were denied. Also, no water breaks. The older kids told me after that they were denied water and told to wait until it was time to eat which was another 30 min later. I had great communication with Jenny up until after the party when I went to give her feedback. This is the text I sent her," Good morning Jenny, thank you for letting us have my kids birthday party at your gym. Just a few things before I forget. There was a lot of waiting around and definitely not enough free play. I understand it was a large group but this should have been thought through and organized to accommodate our group size. My deciding factor to come to this gym was the gym itself and half of the time the kids were waiting around for instruction and playing hide and seek. Also, there were no water breaks.
