This is one of the last stops for food before you get to the Bridge, and my fiancée and I stopped in to wait out a massive storm that was clogging up traffic. We were glad we did. There were only a couple of people in due to the rain, but the inside was brightly colored and well decorated. I saw posters for a lot of events, including a karaoke night we only missed by one night and I could see this place being super fun and loud with a packed crowd. The food is reasonably priced, the menu is large with lots of options, and they offer a range of beer and cocktails. The service was great, everyone was really friendly and helpful, and the servers were very attentive. Our food also came out very quickly and very hot, which was awesome! We started with margaritas, which were classic and refreshing. We also ordered the queso fundido, which was suggested by another Yelper as their favorite to split with their partner, so I wanted to try it. I honestly didn't love it, the queso was grainy and not hot when it came out, and it was soupy. The flavor was there, but not the consistency. Maybe we ordered it on a bad day, but I would not recommend based on my experience. The three enchiladas combo was fantastic. Each one was piping hot and loaded with flavor (and cheese). The beans and rice were great, also, and I love shredded lettuce with mine! The carne asada was also good, it comes with a side of tortillas to make your own. This restaurant was recommended to me about 6 months ago when I was inquiring about good Mexican food and it took me way too long to check it out. The food is authentic and it comes out hot and ready. The staff is cool enough. Carlos was the waiter on a busy Sunday afternoon. I tried the special and the chips were amazing with the sauce. No bueno! Soooooo....I love love love hispanic food, well all food! I am a foodie BUT hispanic food is in my top 3. I am picky so it can be a challenge. I am not a rice and beans kinda gal but I know what I do like. I prefer restaurants with limited English - authentic!! This place was small so I decided to try it out. Right off, I wasn't impressed... Service was no bueno - They kept saying ma'am but it seemed rehearsed not authentic. I didn't feel welcome. One person took my order but never came back til I was ready to pay. Two different people brought the food out at two different times. I had to request a refill. The food tasted, well bad. My food at home is more authentic. The chips were not warm or even handmade. The flautas/taquitos were made with shredded chicken (and they weren't very crispy). The sopapillas were thin and crunchy like chips. The whip cream was more like icing (birthday cake icing). The taco beef tasted more like whatever fillers they used. I paid $20 for my food : $2.75 taco $7.85 (two flautas/taquitos) - regular order is $9.00 (4) so why it was this much for two is beyond me! $3.00 sopapilla $3.95 for side of queso $3.00 drink *A little excessive if you ask me. one taco/two flautas is a combination plate anywhere else** Save your money, visit taco bell two blocks down. Plaza Jalisco is our go-to for Mexican. This place can get pretty packed and the staff does their best at zipping around the restaurant during crazy times, to take care of everyone. Large indoor table and booth seating can accommodate normal and large parties. The parking lot has front & side parking which has rarely been an issue for finding parking. As usual the chips and salsa keep rolling in like waves of the ocean. If you like soda, try the Jarritos which are made from cane sugar and not that garbage American soda (yes, I said it). Had lunch at Jalisco's today. I treated my friend for her birthday, who has eaten here for years. Never eating at Plaza Jalisco's before, I asked my friend, "what's really-really good on the menu?" She said she always gets the chicken fajita salad bowl. I have to admit, this didn't sound good to me ... thoughts of the hot chicken wilting all the lettuce .... but I went with what she was getting. Let me tell you she was so right on! The chicken fajita salad bowl had all the great taste of a sizzling chicken fajita, in a bowl, with sautéed onions, bell peppers, lettuce, and refried beans. I loved this tricked out crispy -crunchy fajita salad bowl...break apart goodness and I didn't miss the soft tortilla. The chicken was juicy, marinated and flavored well! The chips and salsa were homemade and warm, served with complimentary Salsa Blanca (white dipping sauce). My other friend got the " chicken quesadilla with salad" special, and finished every last bite of food, and was not disappointed. I would definitely recommend Jalisco's if traveling on Route 50 to the beach. read more

My wife and and I eat here every so often. We order the same sizzling fajita every time. We split the regular beef fajita and we always end up taking it home for lunch the next day. The reason is that we fill up on the secret white dip and chips. That dip is addictive, but good. read more

What a wonderful find! In the area for a doctor appointment and decided to try this place for lunch. Husband had Burritos El Paso and ate every bit. Gosh the food here is so good! But the three times we went we had the same waiter: spoke very broken English and cake to our table TWICE. Once to take the drink order. Once to bring drinks then take food order. Someone delivered the food and we sat for over 30 Minutes and no one returned. Didn't check on our food. Didn't refill the drinks. I had to find someone to refill our drinks. Then we waited about another 10 minutes and nothing. We couldn't even get our bill. If you are going for great food this is the place but do not expect any sort of food service and plan on waiting :) read more

If you actually know good Mexican food and/or good Tex mex this is NOT it. It's just ok. Nothing to write home about and the service generally leaves a lot to be desired. They almost never have the food ready when ordering online or calling it in.. one time I even waited 45 minutes only to be then handed the wrong order. And the in person service isn't much better ..they take your order ..drop your food and disappear. But hey I've been coming here for years and will keep coming here ...because let's face it there really aren't many other choices for Mexican food around here. read more

Currently sitting here and have been here for 45 minutes waiting for our food. Simple order. Someone who was seated 15 minutes after us has already been served their food. When I asked for salsa he nodded but then ten minutes later we still didn't have salsa, then salsa was brought but our chips were taken...? Then we were left with just salsa for another 5 minutes until we had to ask another staff member to check on our food and if we could have chips with this bowl of salsa. When our original server came back he poured water in glasses that had had soda and ice tea in them but had been empty for several minutes. The food arrives about an hour after we sat down and one of the orders was simply not cooked. The peppers and onions were raw and cold in the middle. It would seem that our order was never put in until we asked the second server where it was. All in all this experience left us extremely unsatisfied. I think there may have been a language barrier but chips and salsa and full drinks are just simple routine things in a Mexican restaurant and to be left without those for long, long periods of time is really unacceptable. read more

Every time we eat there, we are stuffed and happy when we leave. This is comfort food at its finest. The ingredients are always fresh and the service is fast and friendly. Definitely a good value for the money, as well. The only thing I don't care for is the sometimes overwhelming smell of bleach or soap in the dining area. I have been on a sad quest to find good margaritas. Here's what I've learned- you have to tell them what you want. Any place that won't customize your margarita is for suckers. Drop that tortilla chip and walk right out. Don't pay the bill or anything. Just bail. Plaza Jalisco has a bar that seats three (with 5 stools) and they are hiding a secret.
