What a pleasure to dine at El Dorado. We decided for Cinco de Mayo our party of 6 would celebrate. No reservations accepted so we knew this was a long shot. Arriving at 6pm it was crazy. Restaurant was filled with a wait line. The manager told us a 30 minute wait and we agreed We were seated in less time and enjoyed our meals. They make the best margaritas in town. The guacamole is excellent, carnitas, taco salad and enchiladas received high marks. The real magic here is the staff. They worked together, service was good and our bills were correct. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this restaurant. The menu is sort of pan-Hispanic, with a lean toward Mexican cuisine. The basic quality of the food is quite high, with an evident concern with healthy dishes. My only criticism is that the dishes are quite bland--much use of hot sauce is necessary to bring the flavors to life. But because the basic food and preparation are good, hot sauce does the trick. read more

El Dorado is a nice local place for mostly Mexican cuisine, although they have some Honduran and Peruvian dishes on the menu. Visited with a party of 4 at dinner time, and were seated promptly and courteously. There's a full bar and they make excellent margaritas! Complimentary chips and salsa are provided. I like the salsa but the chips are fair. Food is pretty good here. I like the carne asada. The burritos are also very good. Rice was delicious. One of the party had the Barbacoa. Everything was pretty good. I'd say you should give it a try! read more

I was eating a meal there and my sister found a hair in her food and then I witnessed a cockroach climbing up the wall and while I was eating my taco the roach fell onto my left shoulder and when I proceeded to tell the waitress her response was that the exterminator came earlier to spray and then she made me pay for my meal and everything and expected a good review even though a literal roach fell onto my shoulder the food is good the service was well below average tonight we were forgotten twice tonight and then the roach this is the absolute worst experience I've ever had there and this makes me so upset that they were okay with this and played it off like it was fine. No I am not fine with a roach on my shoulder and crawling on me. The waitress actually squashed the bug intentionally after I told her. This is a horrible horrible experience 0/10. read more

We dined here on a Saturday afternoon. All of the staff were friendly. We ordered the Avocado Salad which is made fresh at one's table. We had one adult beverage (margarita), which was delicious and a lemonade. We ordered chicken enchiladas with green sauce that came with black beans and rice. We also had an order of carne asada tacos. Which didn't come with sides. So we added an order of black beans and plantains. The food was hot, but everything tasted bland. Worst Tex Mex and Poor Customer Service: Picked up Fajitas. When picked up they only gave us the side lettuce rice and sour cream. Husband went back to pick up the order and they gave him the meat. They left out the tortillas. Meat was very old, dry and not edible. Avocados were completely brown. Shrimp was very small (like canned shrimp) and burnt. Worse than dog food!!! Won't be returning. Please save yourself the trip. When I called to report the problem they acted like they did not know what to do. Passed me along to several people. Then, eventually once I got the manager on the phone, she blamed it on new stuff and they didn't know what to do. Learn how to run a business. read more

This is a nice little spot in Easton for South American cuisine. Get the homemade guacamole which is prepared table side. The fresh ingredients served immediately make it superb. The only issue we had was one of my friends asked for a Jack Daniel's and Coke. They had no Jack Daniels. Said they were out of stock and it would be in next week. This seemed odd. The fam and I went to El Dorado's new location near Railway market in Easton today for lunch. The food is as terrific as the original downtown Easton location. We had the table side guacamole which is some of the best guacamole I have had (including when I was in Puerto Vallarta last year). The margarita was strong and very tasty. Super fresh corn tortillas, and the mixed fajitas were top notch. When I go back I'd probably just get the chicken and shrimp fajitas as the steak was not quite as good. Service fast & friendly. This experience left much to be desired. We were extremely hungry and merely ordered 2 taco salads with grilled shrimp. So, where I come from a taco salad at the very last contains, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, refried beans and some type of salsa or dressing. This one was tiny in size (I wish I had taken a picture of how little it was) a few warm shrimp that had been thawed in the microwave, a few sprigs of lettuce and some guacamole. Oh... and let me not forget the bacon on top. Seriously ? it was horrible. Had we not been so hungry, and not in the mood to cause a seen and ruin the afternoon, we would have sent it back immediately. We will not go back again. Very disappointing lunch. I stopped in January 12th, 2022 on my way home from Baltimore. First time here and I must say it was amazing. I had Ropa Vieja and it was delicious. My companion had a dish that had chicken, french fries and rice. Weird concoction, but my companion liked it. That visit I would have given them 5 stars. I returned there today, February 4th, 2022. Maybe 3 tables occupied, no one at the bar. There are 4 of us, my daughter orders a pork dish with rice and frijoles negros. My granddaughter orders the ropa vieja, which comes with rice and frijoles negros. I ordered carne asada which came with rice and refried beans. In all three dishes the meat was hot but, in all three dishes the rice was warm and the beans were cold. Since no one came to the table we ate. By the time were were almost done, the waiter came and asked how everything was, I told him about the food temperature. He said he would check with the kitchen. Never saw him again. I traveled over one hour for this visit, will not happen again read more

We ordered from this restaurant yesterday, 2/6/21, specifically because the menu said they would cater to any food allergies. We placed our order notifying them that I couldn't eat dairy. After arriving home, my order contained sour cream (or mayo) and cheese over the meal. We had also ordered guacamole and it came with no chips. We contacted the restaurant letting them know we were disappointed and asked for a refund on the one meal that I couldn't eat (the other orders were fine). They refused. They did say we could return (a half hour trip) and they would make a new one. We refused. I again asked that they refund the money. I would even have taken a credit for a future trip to the restaurant, this was not even an option to them. Obviously, we will not be returning, now will we ever recommend this restaurant (which we have in the past). Very bad customer service. read more

Ordered an appetizer off the menu ... first selection they were out of the choice ... never a good sign. Selected another... One price on menu, another on web and third on my bill. Of course bill was highest ... twice what was on web. Asked about difference after charging my cc. Did NOT apologize or credit my cc...just handed me back some cash. Not enough either. I have been to both locations of this restaurants. Both experiences were fairly ridiculous. In the original small location, we were there and it was not crowded. I ordered a beer. 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 15 minutes. No beer. It's like everyone disappeared in this tiny place. I actually went up and SERVED MYSELF the beer and told them I got it. They were like, whatever...less work for us. Got the tacos which were nothing spectacular. Can do a much better version of carnitas at home then they serve here. Maybe I should have gone into the kitchen and cooked it myself. When their second location opened, I thought maybe this was just a bad experience, and I'd give it a try again. Again, order a beer with the meal. Dogfish 60 min IPA. 5 minutes. 10 minutes. Hey, they brought the beer themselves in under 15 minutes this time. But, the beer is very light in color. I tell the waitress immediately that I'm sure this is the wrong beer. She says, "No, dogfish". I take a sip, definitely Corona or a Mexican lager. Worlds apart. Tell her it's the wrong beer. She takes it away. 5 more minutes. 10 more minutes. Finally I go up to the owner/manager and ask where my Dogfish beer is, and he says we gave you Dogfish. I tell him there's no way, it is the wrong beer and that he needs to check his taps. He says, no I'm not doing that, you got Dogfish. We left without waiting for food because if they don't care about their customers face to face, imagine what they're doing with the food behind closed doors. I have a few acquaintances who work at the local beer distributors and told them this story and they said there had been a major mixup with their taps, yet they refused to admit it to customers. Not going back again. When your menu consists of a few limited ingredients mixed up or presented in different ways, you're really going for service and a nice place to go out, but the service is so horrible here, you feel like you've intruded into someone's house who didn't expect you or want you there in the first place. read more

I'm from New Mexico and this place has the BEST margaritas in the entire state of Maryland, maybe on the entire east coast! No mixes. Quality tequila. Could not have been better. I'm also vegetarian and have to say there aren't many selections on the menu for folks like me. I'll have veggie fajitas with another margarita when I return. Terrible food and service. Being our 1st time there we walked in and no one said a thing to us so we just picked a place to sit. We waited awhile then a young man gave us a menu. We ordered unsweetened tea and then I ordered steak fajita's and my husband got steak and chicken fajita's. The food was out in less then 10 minutes. The peppers were not even cooked and the beans and rice were COLD. He brought a plate with the lettuce, sour cream, guacamole with the same plate the rice and beans are on....this was not a big plate.They didn't even put any cheese on the plate. The young man never came to check on us and of course we never got our drinks refilled. The two meals came to 46.00 without tip. I had to walk up to the bar to get my bill. I wrote on the bill worst service and the food was COLD!!! They didn't even say sorry. We will never go there again. read more

I've eaten at the other location on Aurora St. and had pretty good food, but this location - maybe it's what I had - chicken enchiladas. The chicken was plain, warmed shredded chicken, no flavor, inside a rubbery corn tortilla out of a package, covered in tepid sauce straight out of a can, topped with a bland white sauce out of a squirt bottle. The food was bland and completely unappealing, not to mention not hot. The side of beans and rice were edible, but again, very little flavor. Stick to the Chilean dishes, I guess. But really, they need to try harder. read more
