Came here for an independent film screening. I love how cozy the theaters are and how quirky the design is. I wish they had more snack options but they're close to lots of restaurants so you can still grab food before or after a show.

If you want a classic Atlanta experience, you MUST go to the Plaza!! This theater has the most immaculate vibes inside - cool retro movie props and aesthetics. I've been there a few times now, both for big blockbuster movies as well as for small indie films... both types have been good experiences, but I love that Plaza offers the chance to see smaller independent movies. Plaza's charm is unmatched by other ATL theaters - you can tell the staff put in a huge amount of work to keep the spirit alive. Please consider supporting this Atlanta staple next time you see a movie!

Took my dad here since we are both movie nerds and this theater is SO CUTE AND HAS SO MUCH PERSONALITY. I feel like i took a trip back in time and was in a vintage movie theater. Heads up, no assigned seating so if u want a good seat, come early. ALSO! The photobooth they have takes cute pics too lol. I cant believe it took me a decade of living in Atlanta before checking this place out! Definitely gonna be a regular spot for me

We went to the Plaza Theatre for a Netflix screening of Wednesday, and it was such a great experience! This was our first time visiting, and we were really impressed. I love the iconic, vintage theme of the inside.....it reminded me of the kind of theaters I used to see in shows and movies growing up. The staff was so nice and accommodating. They worked hard to make sure everyone got in smoothly and found their seats. The concessions were also on point.....the popcorn was fresh and delicious, and the Sprite was as strong as McDonald's (lol). Overall, we had a wonderful time and no complaints at all. The Plaza Theatre is definitely a gem in Atlanta, and I'm glad we finally got to experience it!

We attended a series of short films for the Atlanta Film Festival and would highly recommend this theatre and the experience overall. They had an interview session after with directors, cast and crew...really great to hear the backstories and perspectives of the filmmakers.

This place is amazing! I happened to be traveling and wanted to watch a newly released movie. I was really excited for the unexpected interior decoration, nostalgic and deliberately thought through. Truly a local gem.

Date: October 2024 Service: 5/5 There wasn't much staff around besides the concession stand. I did receive a great service there. Prices: 5/5 $12 for one glass Fanta, and I believe a medium popcorn. Ambiance: 5/5 You have to see this for yourself. Too cool and old-school. Loved the waiting room that leads into the restrooms, love the photo booth and the hallway and all of the really huge mirrors. Theater doors appear to be named after famous people within the film industry. Super cool and lots of photo ops. Taste/Textures: 5/5 Listen , the Buffalo seasoning for the popcorn was something truly amazing. 10 out of 10. I enjoyed the Fanta in the glass bottle. It's giving nostalgia. Value:5/5 TLDR: Attended my first movie premiere at this vintage movie theater. Really enjoyed the campy vibes and my $12 popcorn and Fanta.

The waiting parlor near the restrooms.

A quaint little movie theater in the Virginia Highlands. We never really went here until the European Film Festival. They had the normal film concessions. Service was friendly and we will be back for future events.

I stumbled upon this theater while shopping next door and just had to check it out! I spoke with a couple of the workers and learned that it actually holds a bit of history. The concessions were pretty standard compared to other theaters, but I did find it super cool they had a pretty wide alcohol selection! I didn't attend a movie while I dropped in, so I'm unable to speak about the movie watching experience. I toured the lobby and around the plaza, they have such cool decorations. I'll update my review when I attend a movie!

The midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture show on Halloween weekend at the Plaza was something I loved to do with my friends in the 90's and 00's. I went back this year and it was amazing. The Plaza is a much cleaner and nicer place than it was in the 90's but still so much fun. The cast was amazing and it is still a fun experience. It was my husband's first time seeing RHPS and he loved it. The movie is still terrible

This is an upscale experience with reclining seats that includes 2 seats per pod. Super cozy for a date night. Complimentary blankets are included at every seat for your enjoyment, at no additional cost. Now let's get to the fun part! IPIC is not your typical movie theater as they have a full bar with cleverly crafted cocktails, my favorite had to be the Lavender Lemonade. It's cool and refreshing and so esthetically beautiful that you question if you should drink it or admire it. But wait there is more, on top of having a full service bar they also have a full menu! Yes you still have the typical popcorn and candy option but they also include such dishes as spicy tuna on crispy rice, charcuterie and cheese platter, lobster rolls just to name a few. Everything is savory and delicious! They do validate parking, allowing guests to park in the garage for a discounted rate. Validation usually brings the cost to approximately $3-$3.50 for 4.5 hours. The cost of tickets range from $14 - $28 per ticket. I have come many times and plan on coming back many times more. IPIC has officially become my favorite theater!

There was no notification, no auto-renewal, and no indication in the app that I had ever been a Gold member. For a premium theater experience that relies heavily on app-based ordering in a dark theater, the lack of transparency was frustrating. Unfortunately, the experience only went downhill from there. There was a noticeable sewage smell in parts of the theater, which immediately took away from the upscale atmosphere IPIC is known for. I was also disappointed to learn that the blankets, one of the signature touches that made IPIC feel special, are no longer available. The food quality has also declined. I ordered the chicken tenders, and even staff acknowledged they are using a different supplier than they did in the past. The difference was noticeable, and not for the better. To make matters worse, our drinks took an exceptionally long time to arrive. I've happily paid premium prices at IPIC for years because the experience felt worth it. This visit felt like a series of cost-cutting measures wrapped in a higher-end price tag. Between the membership confusion, declining food quality, slow service, unpleasant odor, and removal of amenities, it's hard to justify the value compared to what IPIC used to offer. I hope management takes a hard look at the customer experience because the brand that earned my loyalty over the last two years feels very different today.

It's great that this piece of history will continue on as it has for the past almost 100 years! I'm so glad I got tickets to see a performance here because the experience was great. I definitely will have to keep my eye out for other shows to catch. Surprisingly, security was fast. It took me maybe a minute to get through and scan my ticket. Staff was friendly and really helpful. They check tickets for seats before directing you to another member that will guide you to your seat. My friend and I came to see Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and it was amazing! I believe they stopped by Atlanta last year, and I'm glad that they returned. According to the program, each day had some differences as to what was performed, and I considered going again just to see the other dances. Pros: -The Box Office opens several hours before the shows (this provides an opportunity to upgrade seats). -The security at The Fox is bar none! They manage the lines and quickly move the crown through the scans. -Staff is vey friendly, welcoming and super helpful. - Food options are pretty good (although pricey). -Upstairs sound quality is great. Cons: -The Box Office staff is super slow and there are no line markers to separate Box Office/Will Call from the window for Season Ticket holders. -On the Orchestra floor, the sound quality is hit or miss depending on where you sit. Tip: Avoid double letters on the left and right if you can. - Exiting the theater through side doors can be super dangerous at night. The stairs are step and lighting is limited They should have a sign to warn seniors. Many of them were having difficulty getting down.

BaconFest is arguably the most glorious of all festivals in Atlanta. In fact, anyone who contends…read moreotherwise should be tried for crimes against humanity. Quite simply, any individual who doesn't enjoy engorging themselves on excess amounts of bacon while joining in an inebriated chorus of "I've got two tickets to Porkadise" is no friend of mine. Now in its 12th year, BaconFest is an annual festival orchestrated by the genius folks at Dad's Garage Theatre Company in Inman Park. The festival continues to grow each year, but recurring highlights include hoards of bacon (1,200+ lbs from Vortex and DBA Barbecue), plenty of beer (PBA), live entertainment, hilarious carnival games (e.g. wheelchair obstacle course, insult booth, Hobo wine tasting), and a silent auction with enough variety to please almost anyone with a pulse. In fact, the festival has garnered such a strong following that even Kevin Bacon made a cameo appearance in 2012. The festival is typically held on a Saturday at the end of March, with festivities commencing at 1PM and ending around 6PM. Various levels of tickets are available, which include Portioned Porking ($25 online/$35 door), Bottomless Bacon ($45 online/$55 door), and Whole Hog ($85 online/$95 door). The Portioned Porking option includes admission, 5 carnival game tickets, and 3 cups of bacon or beer. The Bottomless Bacon option includes unlimited bacon/beer/games, while the Whole Hog option affords you the opportunity to enjoy a whole roasted pig (P'Cheen), a free BaconFest t-shirt, and unlimited bacon, games, and premium beer (Ale Yeah!). Although tickets are advertised as being available at the door, they typically sell-out online well before the event, so make sure to snag yours before someone else gets their greasy little snout on them. First time festival goers should know that BaconFest is restricted to adults only (ID required at door), no pets are allowed, and is held rain or shine (no refunds). Parking can be problematic, so you'd be wise to either carpool or take MARTA (Inman Park Station). It's also important to note that this event is a fundraiser for Dad's Garage, which is a non-profit theatre company with some incredibly commendable talent. As such, you should rest assured that all funds you spend at the festival are going toward a worthwhile cause.

Instead, there were only a handful of vendors there and the one or two who had just bacon, the bacon was standard affair Oscar myer. The only reason I would even give this festival 1 star is because my favorite restaurant Barcelona was there serving up the most delicious pork belly with cherry caramel sauce. They were the only saving grace. And the festival had other vendors there charging for food. What the heck did I pay for?? Unacceptable! For the price should be all inclusive and upgrades should have access to quicker wait times. The other disappoint was that there was very little drink varieties. 3 plain beers and 3 plain wines. The other disappointment was that I upgraded my ticket to bottomless bacon and beer thinking that would get me into a quicker line but for the price of $125 for 2 people we still waited with the regular ticket holders with limited coupons. For the 2 hours we wasted, we only got to try 4 vendors and 2 beers. As a foodie, this is unacceptable. I paid for a food experience, not a carnival spectacle. If this was family focused then I could possibly see the value but as an adult with no kids to saw no value. I wish I could get a refund, totally wasted my day and left utterly disappointed and famished as I didn't get my share of food. We ended up at Woodys enjoying the most delicious Phillys with bacon added lol Please please rename this to Bacon Carnival Spectacle or Pig Farm Fair not Baconfest when it clearly missed the food focus. I won't be going back unless it improves and even then I will need convincing
