I checked out this theater recently because we had a private screening of The Devil Wears Prada II. I hadn't been here in ages--literally a decade. I usually go to Regal Atlantic Station or IPIC at Colony Square, but I'm definitely adding this spot to the list. The theatre was clean, ordering food was straightforward--kiosks, then pick up at the main bar. There's even a full bar on the right if you want a quick cocktail. The seats? Super plush recliners. They've upgraded well at this location. Since I'm in Buckhead Village, it's too convenient to ignore. The only snag is the parking at Phipps plaza--it's a maze. But with patience, you'll figure it out. Overall, I'll definitely be back--it was a solid movie experience. read more

We wanted to see a movie at Phipps Plaza AMC in their "Laser" format, since we don't have that in our local AMCs. My husband (who is the big film buff) tells me that the Laser format just means they are using laser projection instead of the normal bulbs, so it's little more vibrant. But still, we wanted to check it out. This AMC is located within Phipps Plaza, which is a high end mall, so the theater gets kept up pretty well. They have a little better concessions than normal AMC theaters I've been to also - and a full wall of candy and chips/snacks. But the best of all is that they have a Costa Coffee right in the concessions area! I have never had a frappe to sip on while watching a movie before, but I don't know how I'll go back to not having that now. Their seats are nice and large. Maybe even TOO large - it was a little difficult to get out to use the bathroom LOL The movie we saw was F1 and it was presented well with great sound, and the screen was newer in the theater we were in. This is a nice, newer-seeming theater (or maybe it's not new and they just keep it maintained very well?), with extra treats that not a lot of other AMC's have, and a theater-going experience that's a little different - so definitely check it out if those types of features interest you! read more

I hadn't been here in years and came last month to see the new "Super Mario Galaxy" movie, which was super cute! As for the theater, I'd say it's not worth the price unfortunately. Over $30 for a single ticket is WILD. The theater felt decently clean, and they have the typical theater snacks (we got popcorn and a pretzel) which were really good, but certainly not worth the $30+ ticket price. My biggest gripe, however is that the chairs should recline more. It felt like I could only extend so far and was almost still completely upright. I did like that the seats had heat or cool options and were very spacious. To be honest, I'll stick with other theaters unless specifically invited here again. I'm all for a good splurge when it's worth it, but this didn't really feel like it, sadly. read more

RE: Paris Hilton special early screening of Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir I honestly didn't expect to enjoy this documentary as much as I did, but it was really good and surprisingly eye-opening. It shows a side of Paris Hilton that goes far beyond the media image most of us grew up seeing. One thing that truly shocked me was being reminded that she made music. I actually recognized one or two of the songs, but it never clicked back then that she was the artist behind them. Seeing her creative journey explained in context made it all make sense and gave me a new appreciation for her as more than just a pop-culture icon. The documentary does a great job of peeling back the layers -- the pressure, the misconceptions, and the control she's had to fight for over her own voice and narrative. It felt honest, vulnerable, and human in a way I wasn't expecting. Overall, it's a well-done, engaging watch that definitely changed my perspective. Whether you think you know Paris Hilton or not, this documentary will likely surprise you. Only 1 thing I wanted to see was her really like FOR REAL DANCING. read more

I have seen movies at Phipps Plaza for decades. The mall and the theater have definitely evolved over that time, but it was nice to return here to see a film after a few years away. We arrived and parked in the garage below the mall. This was relatively convenient. We were close to an escalator that got us into the ground floor. From there, we oriented ourselves and determined how to get to the theater. Pro tip = use the elevators. The theater is more automated than at my last visit. Tickets are all via kiosk at the entrance. It appeared that much of the concession was also of the do-it-yourself / automated variety, but we did not get any food. The theater itself was nice - with reclining seats that were comfortable. Prices were average. We mostly chose this for timing and convenience, due to the film being in limited release. I don't know that I would pass up closer venues just to watch a movie here, but the experience was fine. I would go back. read more

We caught a movie while in town, and this AMC was the closest one. The theater itself is located in Phipps Plaza, and you'll have to get to the top floor to access it. It's more on the smaller end and outdated, and the 'recliner' chairs make the squeaky noise, so throughout your moving-watching experience, you'll be hearing people reclining non-stop. Do not go to the new Dolby theater here, they do not have the capacity/stadium setup, and it makes 75% of the screens in the theater unusable. It's actually worse than most of the other theaters in this location, as you can usually extend your recliner all the way out to account for being a bit too close to the screen. But because Dolby is extra cool or whatever, they don't have full recliners, so if you pick anything in the first 4 rows, you're screwed. The manager here is a pretentious try hard with no regard for the cinema experience, so I know he was pushing for this installment for the money & to screw audiences over. Don't come here. read more

I've been here 3 times in the last year because I live right next door and had 1 good experience. First time, I went to a movie in theater 10 and the theater hadn't been cleaned, popcorn, butter, drinks EVERYWHERE, the bathrooms covered in water and trash cans overflowing. Second time, everything was okay, decided they must've been understaffed the first time. This time, I go to pull up my tickets, the lady wouldn't say hello back, okay. Then I go to get a small popcorn because who in their right mind eats a whole large and they tell me there's no smalls. I find that hard to believe. Either they ran out of bags like idiots or they're trying to upcharge me for a large popcorn and an $8 water. Officially hate this location. This stuff never happens at Madison Yards. Close the Phipps theater if you can't do the basic things a theater needs. read more

AMC really knows how to do movies right. I'm a major movie fan. Like, going to the movies once or twice a week isn't crazy in my book, lol. Because of this, I've been a member of Regal's unlimited program for a few years now. When I moved into my new apartment last year, I wasn't as close to Atlantic Station and realized that AMC had more ITP locations so I decided to join their unlimited program as soon as my contract was over. What a great move. My subscription gives me 3 movies weekly and a host of other random perks, I love it! Phipps is one of my favorite AMC theaters because the experience is always fantastic. There's tons of free parking in the garage, allowing you to park and walk right into the building in under a minute on a good night. There are escalators and an elevator to head upstairs to the movie level, recently (Jan 2024) they have been turned off/broken/idk and that's never a good look lol. Located directly across from the LEGO Discovery Center store, this AMC is really prime real estate as it sits in a mall with luxury designer brands. They're not selling fashion but a different kind of fabulous experience. Digital tickets are scanned in-person before you go beyond the movie threshold and it's usually an incredibly quick process. On many of my movie visits, I love to have a prosecco with my film lol. I figure, why the hell not? AMC has their MacGuffins Bar which actually offers seating, which surprised me. Great place to kill some time before your movie begins. The prices are not good, but we know what to expect at the movies lol especially if we decide to go to the bar. Oh well! I love that when I order my prosecco they offer you the mini bottle and a cup vs. their own small pour. Makes it totally worth it. The concession portion blew my mind on my first visit, not gonna lie. I was like, "I just walk up and... take it?? And then I pay?" Because I didn't need any drama, I had to confirm lol. I enjoy this concept, especially seeing that there's a sneeze-guard of sorts up there. Hot foods are always hot, the popcorn sits under a warmer or is freshly-filled when requested and my fave part - there are tons of jalapeno cups just sitting there. As a person who eats a jalapeno with every single nacho chip, I appreciate not having to ask for them. But even better than all of this, AMC allows you to order your snacks in advance to go to your seat! *mind blown* I have a movie routine and always get the same snacks, the only thing that I switch up is candy sometimes, so I always know what I'm getting. Being able to order my faves in advance and have them delivered to my seat at showtime or a few minutes afterwards is amazing. Both times I've had my concessions delivered, I wasn't in my seat but came back to my snacks nicely packaged in an AMC bag and laid in my seat! Such a great thing for those who want to head right in and avoid the line or if you have a larger party. I came here recently to see the new John Wick movie. I found it weird that there aren't many movie theaters in Atlanta. Getting here using public transportation was not the most fun thing to do. It is located on the top floor of Phillips Plaza. There are not many dining options nearby. However, there are several high-end stores in the mall area. The theater offered the usual nachos, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. I ended up getting their chicken tenders special which was pricy but expected for movie theaters. The seats were very comfortable. You are able to sit back and watch the film. It wasn't too crowded which was nice. I was able to fully enjoy the movie which was a great experience. The movie ended around 10 which left everyone leaving to an empty mall. The movie theater was a nice experience I just wish there was more to do nearby. read more

I love this mall. It has a few food options and a lot of parking. Be sure you take note of where you parked because you can easily get turned around. The underground parking makes it hard to get your bearings. The mall is nice with a lot of shops. The movie theater is at the top. They have plenty of snacks and food. I like that the theaters are not that big. I do not want to be far away from the screen. The seats are huge lounge chairs that recline and you reserve the seats. read more

I love the convenience of this theater. They usually have a wide variety of movies to choose from. They also offer Laser, 3-D, IMAX, etc. It is great that you get to select your seat and order food and beverage ahead of time to be picked up when you arrive. Please note that the tickets at this location is a bit higher than other movie theaters in the area. Food and drinks are also more costly for standard movie theater food. There are other movie theater options in the area if you want more food variety and better cost efficient beverages. We have an AMC Stubs membership (if you see more than one movie a month, it is definitely worth it's money!), so this is our usual movie theater. It is at the top floor of the Phipps plaza next to the Lego store, and it has a bar and a coffee stand inside the concessions. If you're just buying popcorn, you'll just grab it at the stand on the right after paying for it. Their popcorn is always lukewarm since they make it in advance and let it sit out. I also don't think this was their decision but AMCs overall, but I hate their new popcorn buckets. I miss the round circular ones because these square ones keep spilling soooo much popcorn. The reclining seats at this theater are super comfy, and you can lift the middle armrest up for couples. We will continue using this theater while we have our Stubs membership. read more

This is probably one of the nicest theaters I've ever seen. It is in the middle of the shopping center so parking can be a problem when the mall is busy; but pretty much everything else is easy and convenient. They do have a staff member up front; but you can buy tickets via the ticket machine if you are paying by card. You can even pick out the exact seats you want; then there's no need to hurry in to the auditorium to ensure getting good seats. There were no traditionally long lines at the concession counter because pretty much everything is self-serve. There are grab and go popcorn bags of various sizes, pizzas, nachos, and coolers full of water, juice, and ice cream treats. Then there are boxes of the usual movie candies: Milk Duds, Twizzlers, M & Ms, Skittles, Reese's, Sour Patch Kids, etc. right by the cashier. Grab what you want and have it rung up. If you want a soft drink like Coke or Sprite; the cashier gives you the cup and you fill your own soda. (You can mix flavors or add lime, lemon, cherry, etc.). The prices were ridiculously high; which is almost always the case in a movie theater. The regular sized popcorn was $8.39 and the regular sized soda was $6.09! They had a full liquor bar across from the regular concessions with beer, wine, and cocktails. My sister ordered a beer and even though she is over 50; she still got carded. The bartender said you could prepay for a second drink and pick it up during the movie so you won't waste too much time/miss too much of the plot. As for the theater; it couldn't be any comfier. There are big leather seats that recline back while your feet go up . They are in groups of 2 and there are big cup holders in the armrests. The picture and sound quality was excellent....only complaint; the prices! Two tickets were almost $36 and a regular popcorn and soda were $15.77! I would have given the theater a 5 star rating.....but $34 per person is a bit much to pay for a movie, popcorn, snd a fountain drink! read more

This is probably the best AMC I've been to. Top floor, you can take the elevator or the escalator. Always clean, spacious entrance and welcoming staff. Has a bar too! Probably some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in and yes I'm comparing it to luxury movie theaters too like Silver Spot. Came here for a friends birthday where we reserved a theater for just our group to watch a movie. It was a really great experience. I enjoyed the space and how our theater was toward the end of the hall so it felt very secluded. The biggest issue is that the seats were obviously not properly disinfected prior to our visit. The seat I wanted to sit in was sticky and I had to wipe it down prior to sitting. On the plus side, there were big containers of wipes throughout the hallways so i was able to quickly grab a wipe to clean my seat. Also there was no trash bin inside of our theater. Since we were having a birthday party, this made it difficult to clean up during and afterwards. They should add trash bins and wipes inside of each theater room (not just the hallways. I'm not a huge fan of the concession set up at this theater either. You order at one counter, pay at another, then pick up at an additional counter. And the wait for my food was still 10mins. Its unnecessary considering the theater was super empty. I was the only person in line for concessions. This location is in phipps mall so there was plenty of parking. I would do this again but I do think service needs to be adapted for this post-pandemic world. read more

Sadly this is the closest AMC to where we live. However it is absolutely the WORST AMC Theater in ATL!! Yes it's located inside swanky Phipps Plaza Mall, but it is NOT up to Phipps Plaza standards! The entire facility is in dire need of an upgrade! I think last time it was remodeled is pushing 12-15yrs ago. I remember when it was remodeled, and it was the nicest theater in town!! Not so much any more. Nowadays the carpets are dirty, reclining seats are flat and hard, and the sound systems are way outdated compared to other AMCs around town. Dolby sound is not available here at all!! Bathrooms are constantly full of trash that needs emptying. This has been going on for quite a while, yet nothing changes. Was there last night to see Pet Shop Boys concert film! Audio was horrible, had to ask several times to have it turned up. Some could have been related to the way it was filmed, but mostly it was the awful outdated sound system! Also last night the bathroom was a literal wreck!! Every urinal in the men's bathroom was out of order, covered in black plastic and had a warning cone in front of each one!!! And trash all over...which is a constant here! Come on AMC, remodel this dinosaur of a theater and bring it up to today's standards!! read more

Only reason Im not giving it a 5 star is because it is honestly very overpriced for a movie theater. On a regular day its almost $20 a ticket. If you sign up for AMC loyalty program, every Tuesday is $7! Super worth it. Easiest way to get there is park at the monarch parking deck and take the elevator all the way up! I like AM C Phipps Plaza 14; however, it's not my favorite AMC theater complex. Parking has always been easy to find. There's parking on the mall parking deck outside, and there's two levels of parking underground. Wherever visitors park, there are escalators and/or and elevator to get them to the second level of the mall. However, getting downstairs is a different story. Visitors can take the elevator back down to the level that they parked at, or, because the escalators that took them upstairs don't go downstairs, when they leave the theaters, they have to veer to the left in the mall, walk to the escalators on the far end, take those down two levels, then walk out the mall exit doors or take the escalators down to the underground garages. I like that we are able to buy our movie theater tickets online before even leaving home. AMC even has an A-List program in which members pay a monthly fee and can watch up to 3 movies in any AMC theater, including IMAX and Dolby theaters. Currently, AMC Phipps Plaza 14 requires customers to wear masks upon entering. If you're anA-List member you have to show your ticket and your ID at the entrance to the complex. I'm not sure what the process is if you buy your ticket prior to entering. Generally, at this AMC complex, employees are of two types: ones who go out of their way to provide great customer service, and the employees who just want to do their jobs without much customer interaction. The bar has been in operation for a couple of months, but, with pandemic surges, this status can change at any time. I think this is one of the best snack bars as far as convenience goes. This location seems to have a lot of items (like popcorn, and other snacks) ready for anyone to grab and go to the cashier to pay. There are multiple self serve Freestyle beverage dispensers for customers. A-List members not only have discount perks at the concession stands, but they also have an A-List line that gets them through faster than non-members. Personally, I think concessions are pricey, but I also believe concessions also enhance the movie theater experience. The leather recliners in all of the movie theaters are well maintained and clean. I've never experienced a malfunction in the recliner operations. All of the seats are separated by armrests, but the thinner armrests between each group of two recliners can be moved up and out of the way, so that two people can relax and have more room. Each recliner has a cupholder. Most recliners in all theaters have a great view of the movie screen; however, in any theater that requires a lot of steps to get to the highest recliner levels in the back of the theater, I would try not to get a ticket in any of those seats, because the higher you go in the theater, the more likely your feet will be in the way, making it harder to see the screen if you recline. The sound systems in all of the theaters that I've been in have been great - not too loud, not too soft. The employee clean each theater after the end of each movie. PROS: - parking; it's at a mall and there is a ton of lower level parking - movie selection, they don't just show the top grossing movies - courteous staff CONS: - dated, there are newer, more recently renovated theaters in ATL - dirty - I went to what I thought was the first round of movies of the day and the theater was dirty (popcorn on the seats and floors) - I dislike the popcorn...which is weird b/c the popcorn at all AMCs should be the same but Cumberland and Madison Yards have better popcorn - bathrooms - dirty within 2 hours of opening - Icees - only 1 machine that didn't work properly I came here because they had Denzel Washington's McBeth which was no longer showing at other AMCs...and that's why I usually come here, their movie selection is slightly different than other theaters. AMC Phipps Plaza 14 is an awesome movie theater in Atlanta, Georgia. You can really experience the difference of AMC amenities, from spacious rocking seats to luxury recliners, innovative menus and premium offerings like IMAX, Dolby Cinema, and Prime at AMC. AMC Theatres offers a range of ways to get more out of movies. By far the best AMC I ever frequented. It's always clean, and the staff are informative and helpful. The crowd and the overall atmosphere inside the theatre is so awesome. Their chairs in the theatre are a good size and super cozy. And the fact that their seats supports leg rests and reclines to almost 180 degrees without bumping the one directly in front of you shows one way that they put the customer first. Never had any issues with over the top audio level or bad picture quality. They have Freestyle Coke Machines, and amazing popcorn. There is a nice bar at the entrance. Bring or show your ID if you're going to order some alcohol. The nachos were pretty good. I also ordered a hot dog and curly fries. Be sure to request your toppings when you place your order. The process to get your order was different. Line to order, another line to pay, another line to pick up. I will definitely say they need more help in the service area. When theaters are crowded on the weekend, you definitely need more than two people checking customers out in the food line. It also has a great location for you to shop or eat after you finish your movie. I have been to this theater several times and I highly recommend this location for a date night or if you want to go alone too. I love that this movie theater has a bar in it. I tried the Tito's Tide Pool drink and it was so good. Only thing is that it had a strong taste of pineapple and coconut from the Malibu. So not for you if you aren't a fan of Malibu. It also has Blue Curacao in it so it had a cool blue gradient effect. Drinks-wise, Studio Movie Grill is still better because they bring the drinks to you inside, the drinks have better presentation (in actual glasses and garnished), and they have more variety of food. Here you have to get the drinks outside and bring it in yourself. But I believe service is better here. This theater is quite pricey, but makes sense for the area. Still, $17+ for a movie is still quite a shock if you are used to cheaper movie tickets. Seats are great and can recline almost fully. The theaters are small in size so it can be hard to get seats last minute. We did have to sit in the front row, but I honestly don't even mind sitting in the front row here. We could recline quite a bit and since the theater is so small, the back rows aren't too far from the front. I could still see the whole screen easily. read more

If we're gonna watch that many commercials before what we came to actually see, then make it half the price. I still wouldn't want to go honestly, and be sitting in a such a cold room with cold air blowing on me the whole time. It's a theater, not a gym with people exercising. You don't get hot sitting on your butt to justify making it that cold. You're burning more fossil fuels to cool far beyond necessary contributing to global warming and hotter weather. Go figure. Yes, I was confused on where to park and how to find the theater since I don't go to malls, but my issue was with the temperature and incessant trailers. After all that? I actually like coming to this theater. However every time I come there always missing something from the bar. They have nachos no cheese, cups no tops, soap no paper towels in the bathroom. I love the chairs and the relaxation aspect of the the theater. Overall good experience and great time had. read more

One movie ticket for a 1.00pm show on a Friday? $14.47 (including tax) Came here to watch Crazy Rich Asians. Of course, right? ;D I booked two tickets online and it was quite painful for me since I was trying many times to use my $5 reward on my account. Eventually I realized it seemed to be impossible to use that $5. I also caved and upgraded my membership to AMC Stubs Premiere which : (1) waive off all online booking fees (they called that convenience fees :( ) Actually, that's the only reason I upgraded the membership. Interestingly, I was allowed to use the $5 reward, so now I just paid $10 for the Stubs Premiere membership (usual price?$15). (2) get $5 for every $50 spent. (3) free popcorns and fountain drinks upgrade. (4) priority lane at box office and concession stand. Honestly for me, I don't care about any of the benefits after (1) above. Staff at the entrance was friendly and nice. Reclining seats were godsend.. that reminds me. Ahem! ***To my fellow movie goer who was sitting in front of me yesterday (1pm Theater 6- Crazy Rich Asians), that chair you were sitting?? It does recline. Why didn't you recline? :( If we are in an international flight, I really do not care if you want to sit upright all the way. Half of the back of your head was blocking my view of the movie screen. Ok fine, perhaps he does not know that seats in some movie theaters can recline. So I was watching Crazy Rich Asians, it was alright. I recognized those places, the food and the same flowers 曇花 which only blooms at night at my mom's place. However, I just did not understand why they would play those cheesy Chinese songs? I cringed when those songs were played. Who in the production chose them? What makes them think we listen to those songs? Gosh! It's year 2018! Honestly, I am not sure why some people show such great interest in how other people spent their money. I am not sure what's the hype? I know media and many been raving about this all-Asian cast. Oh that remind me of another thing.. ***I also did not understand why some of my fellow movie goers would laugh at almost everything they saw in the movie. I did not think the sight of a nonya kueh (a soft peranakan dessert) could trigger that much laughter? Clearly some people were trying to portray the image they totally get every part of the movie. Sorry, they do not and I know that. PS. The surface of the arm rest of seat E6 was torn. It is sad cos I find it hard to believe it was not damaged intentionally.
