I was in a huge pinch and had to get my bridesmaid dress tailored by noon the following day, a Friday, for a wedding in Sacramento. The bride and I called around desperately but no one would take on the challenge. Suki, however, rose up to be the hero of our story. She took it at 8:15 Friday morning and had it hemmed and fitting well within 3 hours! She is the kindest, most pleasant lady, and the price was fair, as well. Sookie is so nice and helpful! I had never been before because I was in search of a good cry cleaner/alterations place. I've found one! I asked about dry cleaning an expensive purse and she held onto the purse for me to ask a specialist and she called my cell the next day to tell me the price and see if I wanted to do it. She hemmed 2 pairs of jeans for me and patched 2 other pairs and did a fantastic job! I've been taking my husband shirts and pants to Pleasant Cleaners for about a 2 years and the quality of the work has been excellent. We are very satisfied with the service and personal attention. The owner knows all her customers by name and it amaze me whenever a customer enters her shop, she already have their clothing out for pickup without them presenting her a ticket. This is one of my favorite places to have my shirts laundered. I love supporting small mom & pop businesses and this one definitely is one of them. The dogs are great and I always find myself looking for them every time I visit. This is one of the few places where your clothes don't end up with a weird chemical smell. It doesn't appear that the cleaning is done onsite. The standard turnaround time is on the slow side (3-4 days) but the quality of cleaning is top notch in my book. Once I had a sportcoat altered, just needing the sleeves shortened. I was charged $30 which I think is overpriced but I needed it ASAP so I reluctantly had it done. No problem with the alteration but I'm a little skeptical of the price, not knowing what that type of service would cost at other places. read more

I have been coming here for the past few years. Suki is always friendly and welcoming. She always greets her customers with a big smile saying "Hi, (customer's name). How are you?" I have read all reviews. Frankly speaking, I have never had any problem with her service. I am pretty satisfied with it. Once I noticed a stain on my husband's shirt as I picked it up. I pointed it out. She was more than willing to send it back to clean it. One week later I picked it up. Stain was gone and his shirt was nice and clean. Someone mentioned her rude comments. I love it here. Our work made us come here to alter our uniforms 7 years ago, and I have been coming here ever since. The place is owned by a lady named Sookie, and she is very friendly and very helpful. She does on site alteration and has same day service. If you drop it off early enough in the day, she tries get to back you in the afternoon. I had many special occasions, where she came through, and hymned my pants at the last minute. The place is conveniently off of Pleasant Hill road off of Taylor. T.J. Maxx is right across the street. There a lot of parking places, and an another lot next door near the Burger Road. I just want to warn you that she has 2 adorable dogs. One is named Tuscon after the Mountain range in Korea. The other one is named Paco. Paco looks sweet, but he likes to be the ALPHA DOG. Don't worry, he is Chihuahua and weighs like 4 lbs. The place is open Mon-Sat. and they are reasonably priced. Don't make the mistake of going in on Sunday because they are closed. VERY Disappointed. Picked up the top I had cleaned and it was totally wrinkled like it had never been pressed. I did not look at it while I was there just today as I was putting it away. This was my first visit due to great Yelp reviews. I did call and she said I could take it back for ironing but that type of fabric will always have wrinkles. I don't agree,, it is a nice top from Nordstrom with matching pants and I had ironed it myself last year and it looked fine. I was hoping because this is near my home I found a new place for alterations and dry cleaning. Sooki is very nice but I want my clothing to look good and it should for that price. NEVER again. Cannot recommend unfortunately. It seems to be the biggest problem in this country today is that no one takes pride in what they produce... very sad. I can't say enough good things about this place. Suki, the owner, remembers everyone no matter how often you come in. I was getting married and only had a few weeks to get my dress and any alterations. I heard Suki is great at alterations so I took the dress to her with only intentions of altering the hem. However, when I got the dress it was one size too small. With only two weeks and it barely fitting me, Suki assured me she would make it work and she did. She pulled it off!!! I was able to fit in my dress comfortably and was able to enjoy my special day. The alterations were flawless!!!! I highly recommend this place for any of your cleaning and alteration needs! I am beyond livid with this facility. I just moved to the area and needed a few things dry cleaned for a wedding. Only 3 had light staining. When i first walked in they were so sweet and seemed great. I brought in 4 simple blouses and 2 dresses to be dry cleaned. I went to go pick it up and they charged me $80 for my items. My jaw dropped. I explained to the woman that never in my life have i spent THAT much for 6 items to have a simple dry cleaning. The woman working gave me $4 off. Ok. Thank you. I left very upset and the more upset i got the more i felt the need to call and explain my frustration. I called and asked for a break down of what they charged me for and was told she didn't know, the owner would be in tomorrow and she will have her call me. But honestly, $80 for 6 items. I feel taken advantage of, cheated and WILL NEVER ever go back to this place. I'm not usually one to complain but this is just ridiculous. UPDATE: I went back because i got home and realized that one of my dresses had not been cleaned the stain was still there. I went back in asking for a refund and they would not refund my money. The woman told me to leave my dress there and they'd clean it again. I said i'd prefer to simply have that dress refunded. She proceeded to say because she wasn't the owner she could not refund it. I gave her all my contact information and asked her to have the owner call me as soon as she got in which she encouraged me she would. Needless to say i did not receive any call. Really inexpensive work, in relationship to the local competition. The lady that runs the place is really open, and pretty efficient. Pleasant Cleaners is definately dry cleaning at its best! I was extremely pleased with the quality of work provided to my boyfriend and I, as well as the quick turnaround. My boyfriend and I came to Pleasant Cleaners in May as new customers. We desperately needed two pairs of jeans (True Religion and MEK) altered within a week's time frame, for my upcoming birthday weekend. Now my boyfriend is very meticulous about who alters his jeans, especially because they're so expensive and require the original hem to be kept on them. Suki more than exceeded our expectations. Not only did she complete the alterations in one day, but she was also extremely reasonable in her pricing, charging much lower than that of her competitors. Park Avenue Cleaners is cheaper AND better. Sookie, the owner, of Pleasant Cleaners is very nice but for quality and price, Park Avenue Cleaners on Contra Costa Avenue is way better. I had a chiffon dress altered at Pleasant Cleaners and Sookie charged me $35.00. I had another chiffon dress altered at Park Avenue Cleaners and they charged me $12.00. I wanted to get work out pants altered at Pleasant Cleaners and she was going to charge me $14.00. I took the same pants to Park Avenue and they only charged me $12.00. I took 7 of my husband's work shirts to Pleasant Cleaners and she was going to charge me $58.00. I took 7 work shirts to Park Avenue and I was only charged $39.00. My sister took her wedding dress to Sookie at Pleasant Cleaners and charged her $150.00 and when she got her dress back, it looked like they didn't even clean it and just ironed it. It still had dirt stains on the bottom and a small wine stain. Sookie told her, I never guaranteed that it'll come off but still charged her $150.00!!! Her dress was as simple as it gets. Plain Satin with 1 strip of beading work around her waist. I could see why people love Pleasant Cleaners; because of Sookie's nice personality and cute tiny dogs BUT it's not worth the cost, lack of guarantee and quality. read more
