Heard the guy next to us order a French dip and the waiter said great, we have only 2 left. So when he came to us I ordered and he said great timing it's the last one. Took 45 minutes to get our strawberry salad which was delicious. Another 3o minutes go by (and the guy next to me who ordered the other French dip had already finished and left) So the strawberry waiter, after more than 1.15hr walk over and says "hey, we ran out of the French so I ordered you the steak sandwich. Huh? 1 hour and fifteen min later you ran out and the other guy already ate and left? I said great, but I'm not paying for it. 10 min later the owner came out. He could not have been a friendlier, responsible and all around nice person. It wasn't that he not only covered my meal but the table but it was the way he handled it. Owning a restaurant is not easy and problems happen. Food - 8/10 Prices 9/10 Place 8/10 I would not only recommend this place but they have absolutely earned my business. I obviously can't give a 5 because of the incident but I will change this to a 5 when I go back and get the service I have a feeling I'll receive. This owner deserves the business because he knows how to run a business. Money follows the people not the other way around.

Ambiance at the Westbury location is a 10/10. I really love the vibe and the welcoming, "home" feel…read moreyou get the moment you walk in--and it stays that way throughout. I've been here several times now, and I've genuinely enjoyed the dishes. That said, even though everything is still very good, some of the menu items have changed. I just wish that when we told our waitress we'd been there before, she would've mentioned that some menu items were updated. We ended up ordering our favorite items because the names were the same on the menu, but the descriptions (how it was prepared) were different--so we didn't think to look closely at the descriptions. For example, the crudo is now a salmon crudo with capers. Before, it was tuna with cucumbers, which I honestly love and prefer over the salmon. The chicken dish was also switched up. When I told friends who haven't gone yet, they were disappointed as well. The chicken dish is now a mushroom sauce version, and we definitely tasted it, but we weren't expecting it to be different when we ordered. Since there are a lot of regular customers, I think it would be helpful to mention when some items have changed, especially when the names stay the same. We didn't even think to read the descriptions because the names looked familiar.

When the food was delivered to the table, 3 of the dishes were correct and the fourth one (mine) was the wrong dish. I thought the runner may have grabbed the wrong dish and mine was still in the kitchen and would've come right back out however it looks like the wrong dish was made so I insisted my other three friends eat their dinner and mine finally came after they were more than halfway through. My dish was the ravioli and it was good not great. It was also lukewarm once it was finally delivered and I did not want to send it back again and wait even longer to eat. My friends ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese, Pasta Primavera and the Cacio e Pepe. They enjoyed the Primavera and the Bolognese however they said the Cacio Pepe lacked flavor. Before going into this restaurant, I read the reviews and was skeptical, but wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I understand they are working on improving things, however for me personally, I will not be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family. I may try the Huntington location as that has a better reputation.

HAD MY 50TH BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE AND WOULD DO IT AGAIN!!!!!…read more This was only my second time here but my first visit made such an impression that I had to celebrate my big day here!! I started my party planning with a previous employee but upon getting in touch with the owner TOMMY, everything went off without a hitch!!! My host/server MICHELLE T. was truly amazing!!!!! She orchestrated my party like a pro, checked-in frequently with me, perfectly timed my chosen courses and paid careful attention to ny birthday cake and cupcakes I brought in. I loved all their party options, they truly have something for everyone. If you want afternoon, brunch or dinner times, you can literally have dozens of different selections for your entire party courses, I hope to have a future celebration here, and try even more delicious choices. Valet parking was a great plus, location is also very convenient from Queens and Suffolk counties. Defintely check them out if you're looking for a weekend brunch, romantic dinner or a family celebration.

Our group of 7 had reservations for 7:00pm a couple of Fridays ago. When we arrived, we pulled up…read moreto the valet, handed him our keys, and walked in right on time. We were seated immediately in the room toward the back left corner where we were the only table occupying the space. In fact, as the evening progressed, no other diners/groups were seated back there, which was nice. We observed that although it was a Friday evening at prime dinner hour, the restaurant never got too full nor was the bar area buzzing. Again, it was nice that it wasn't so hectic in there, but we noted that as curious for a spot like this, on a Friday evening, and when the weather was pleasant. Starting with a high point: our server was really good. He was a very nice young man who let us know at the end of our meal that it was actually his first day on the job. While we could tell he didn't know everything about the menu - which is totally understandable given him being a new hire - he was kind, personable, and went above and beyond to provide excellent and timely service. As for the venue, it was nice although not upscale and that was just our speed for this evening. We loved having the room to sit comfortably at a setup that could comfortably seat 8. As for the food, it was decent although I wouldn't call anything I tasted fantastic. For apps, we shared 2 orders apiece of calamari, crab cakes, and lamb chops (6 apps total) with the chops being my favorite out of those. The calamari were small and didn't pack a lot of flavor but they were fried well. The marinara sauce that came with it was also fine but not remarkable. The crab cakes were a little mushy for our liking. For my entrée, I ordered the Lobster Rigatoni. There was plenty of lobster on top, the portion was more than solid, and it came out at the right temperature but the flavor again failed to really impress and was somewhere between "fine" to "good". For dessert, I ordered the chocolate lava cake, and I was truly disappointed by that. For starters, there was no gooey "lava" as the name implied, and the edges were dry and seemed overcooked. The flavor again fell a little flat and I didn't bother to finish it even though I am usually a huge fan of chocolate desserts. All in all, we had an enjoyable evening as a crew, but the food could be elevated a bit from a flavor standpoint. I would give the food a little better than a "3" but I think they have enough going for them that amping up the flavors could do wonders for their desirability and drawing more diners.

The drinks were on point and the food was delicious! Their menu is more finger foods and decent bites if you plan to drink. I would like to see 1 or 2 more food menu items added but everything we had was very very good. We had the sampler and it was perfect for us. The DJ was everything! The music was so good. Old school early 2000's hip hop and r&b. But I hear on any given night, the music goes to the vibe of the crowd. The service was fantastic. The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.

Normally, I don't start a review on a negative but after we left and counting up all the missteps, I felt off. My wife is more forgiving, she liked the Frito Misto and Bolognese. It's hard to believe this was a BBQ spot a few years ago. The glass garage door is still in place, back in the day it was enjoyable during the spring. There's a reason why it's called Sparrow Cocktails. I ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned. Made with Angel's Envy Bourbon and wood smoked chips, this was a great cocktail before dinner. The Frito Misto had a delicate coating, it wasn't overly battered. The green dipping sauce served on the side was bland. It didn't add to the dish and was thin. The Malfalde Bolognese was a hearty portion, we were able to share this large dish between the two of us. Made with beef, veal and pork and simmered in San Marzono tomatoes, this entree satisfies all my pasta cravings. I was looking for some grated cheese, none was offered.. The Back Sea Bass special, IMHO we should have passed. My wife asked about bones and was told they de-bone the fish table side. What was served to us was a fish that was cooked well but was full of small pin bones. We passed on dessert, it was time to go. an expensive meal that doesn't warrant a return visit.

Overall, we found many of the dishes to be overly salty and oily. I ordered the rib sandwich and was disappointed because it wasn't what I expected. I anticipated an actual rib sandwich, but it appeared to be more like shredded beef and didn't have the flavor or texture of ribs. My son ordered the stuff Nutella French Toast and ended up sending them back. The eggs he was served were also quite salty. My daughter did not enjoy her burger, which was unusually thick and difficult to eat as prepared. My wife finished her meal, but she did not find it particularly enjoyable and felt the portion size was too small for the price. I think part of the issue may have been the limited Father's Day brunch menu. Had there been more options available, we might have found dishes that better suited our tastes. Additionally, dessert was not included in the package, which was somewhat disappointing. While the atmosphere and service were definite positives, the food did not meet our expectations. Based on this experience, I'm not sure if I would return.

Alibi is currently running a Harry Potter pop up, and if you know anything about me, you will know I am a HUGE fan. The Alibi was decorated beautifully and there were two really cute Photo Ops by "Platform 9 3/4" and the Wand Shop. Come here for the drinks! The Hufflepuff was bourbon forward and reminded me of an Old Fashioned which further confirmed that is truly my house. It also came with an edible golden snitch. The server pointed it out before I gave them what I thought to be decor. I popped the chocolate golden snitch in my mouth after being directed to take the wrapping off first. We then did butterbeer shots and I can't even begin to tell you how delish they were...dangerously delicious. Food was had and it wasn't anything to write about but I'll try. Queso dip is made in house, which I respect. Loaded potato wontons were a great idea and were probably the best things on the table. You can't go wrong with pretzel nuggets. Chocolate cake is never a bad idea. I ended my visit with a chocolate frog drink. Very similar to an espresso martini. You know how hot they are right now. It came with a an actual chocolate frog which was nice. Finally one of the staff members came over to help us play Bertie Botts and we all picked a jellybean. I got lemon. Some of us got soap and warwax. So fun! It was so good, we are going to try to snag another rez for trivia. Reservations are for 90 minute seatings. You pay $15 for a ticket but you get a souvenir cup with your ticket. Not mad about this because the cup is actually decent and will be used. Their next pop up will be "Slime Time". Slime is not my thing but maybe you'll see me at the other pop ups.
