So I didn't actually go into the restaurant to order, I picked it up from the dining hall that serves Plucked chicken and basically there were only two types of chicken sandwich the regular and Nashville. I got one of each to share with my cousin. Either my spice tolerance went down or it's actually spicy spicy' but the Nashville was just hot! My nose started running and my ears were on fire, besides that the flavor is very rich! I would def choose a lower level spice next time I order. They have four levels you can pick from and I chose the 3rd one. The regular fried chicken sandwich was also very tasteful and more on the sweet side. I think they put honey on it, but regardless it was so delicious! Def recommend if you're not into spicy chicken sandwiches. I got a side of onion rings and crinkle fries to go with the sandwiches. There are a couple ways of placing your order when you go inside. It being my first time there, I thought the only way was to use the digital kiosk. These are good for those who do not want contact with a real human, other than to pick up your order when it is ready - they'll call out your name. The menu was new to me and I felt like I was working behind the counter entering in my family's order, haha. It was fun, but I had to read carefully and I think overall entering in an order this way took longer than to just go up and speak to someone to enter it for you. They have a drink fountain machine, you know the ones that house multiple drinks in one machine? I had one of these at one of the previous companies I used to work for, but we had way more options to choose from. What they did have was orange Fanta, which is what I got, lol. Food: Naughty Nash, Tweety Birds w/ Mac n Cheese and Waffle Fries. I was able to try a little of everything and I think everything was in good portion. I actually had quite a few fries left. If you like spicy chicken sandwiches, I would say opt for the Naughty Nash over the Tweety. Tweety has a cuter name. This was my first time trying Plucked and I was overwhelmed (in a good way) with all the menu options. Obviously, their speciality is chicken so you can't go wrong with any type of chicken sandwich. They have sandwiches on regular buns in addition to waffle sandwiches. I opted for a waffle sandwich with hot honey and powdered sugar on the outside. I really enjoyed the chicken and the hot house sauce it came with! I have 4 stars because the waffle was very sweet with huge chunks of powdered sugar inside. I don't mind a little powdered sugar, but this threw off the sandwich a little. Next time I will try a savory sandwich as the people in my group ordered that and they looked great! A group of 3 shared a large waffle fry which was plenty. The fries were fresh and delicious. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating and is very casual. We've been here before but it was before it merged with other establishments (Pimp My Ramen, Murder Burger, and Taco Munchers) to become Fat Chance Food Hall. They have two kiosks on the side for you to order from and you're given the option to order from all of the different restaurants. We were there for the plucked chicken, so we ordered our chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders. I got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and the Crinkle Fries. My chicken was "Pretty Cluckin' Hot" which is only the second hottest option, and it was already a good spice level! It tasted really good and I should have asked for ranch dipping sauce to make it even better. The fries were solid on their own and paired well with the chicken sandwich. I definitely want to try out the other food options that they offer now that they're available. I also noticed that they had a new pick-up system. It looked very high-tech and they were almost like transparent safes which contained each person's order with the name displayed outwards towards the customer. You would then enter a code that would open the safe to give you your food. I got another sandwich that's not pictured here. I'm torn between a 3 or 4 rating. I'm not a fan of their kiosk ordering system. It gets confusing when you have to click on add to cart even though you already selected your sandwich and all of the options. They weren't too busy on a Saturday lunch, and I should've simply ordered from the cashier. The sandwich is a 4/5. It's got decent bread, excellent slaw and OK to good chicken. I'm more of a floury/crispy chicken person so the light breading probably didn't do it for me. I forgot what I exactly ordered but it's contrasting flavors hit the spot. There is a bit of tangy, sweet, salty and a hint of bittersweet from the slaw. It's actually quite nice, but again I wish the chicken was better. As a comparison, I'm not a Chick Fila fan but I think the chicken is cooked similar. I do like Bakesale Betty but they're all the way in Oakland. The 3 piece tenders is a 1/5. They're so small, barely crispy, and cost $9.99! Sure they may be a little better quality than chicken nuggets, but honestly I wouldn't mind $6 for 20 piece chicken McNuggets. You get more pieces, more crisp and you get sauce. This came without sauce, and although I got this for my kids they didn't even take more than a bite. Disappointing at best. Their waffle fries and hot as pluck fries are pretty decent. A chicken sandwich meal is about $15 with waffle fries. The large side order of fries we got had a nice spicy kick, yummy cheese and bits of pickles. Hot as pluck? I had no problem devouring them. My friends had their sandwiches and one ordered a salad. It had a unique sweet taste to it due to the jelly. It was decent but I'd probably order a savory chicken sandwich next time. Used to love spicy stuff in my youth. Unfortunately, old age has gutted my gut so can't handle much spice anymore. Fortunately for me, the Sticky Chicky sandwich was more sweet than spicy. A whole lot of sweet with a bit of mild heat. Bursts of heat that don't linger popped up occasionally, probably from the jalapenos. Tweety Bird is even sweeter. Same ingredients except the sticky sauce is replaced with honey mustard. Super yummy overall. Personal preference; however, didn't care for the very faint aftertaste of anise or licorice. Perhaps there was raw fennel in the slaw? Mom can't tolerate any spice at all so she eliminates anything spicy on her sando. She opted for the Rooster replacing the jelly with plain mayo. She loves the fried egg and chicken combo. The bacon is a salty bonus. She also likes the Fried Chicken Monte Cristo which is basically a mash up of a sweet dessert with salty fried chicken. We usually do takeout because despite the bright lights, the interior feels cold, dark and claustrophobic. Maybe the dark red paint, dark wood, grey concrete and low ceilings give this impression. The bright pops of yellow helps but doesn't totally negate this impression. The patio out front is awesome in the summer though. read more

I've been a pretty big fan of Sauced for the longest time, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that I enjoy Plucked (they share the same owners). The sandwich isn't the best Nashville chicken sandwich I've ever had, but it's still delightfully crispy and the mayo-based sauce is tangy yet spicy. I would have liked the sandwich to be a bit spicier, but I'm a spice fiend so it probably is just a me issue. My friend ordered the tenders which was a tad too dry and nothing special. The sauces are a must for the tenders as they'll add at least a semblance of flavor to the dish. And, if there's one thing I know Sauced / Plucked does really well, it's their sauces! The real stars, though, are the sides! Unlike other fast food chicken restaurants, the slaw at Plucked is not overly saturated in mayo and corn syrup. Regarding their fries, I'm a huge proponent of waffle fries and I can assure you Plucked does them well. Their fries carry a vestige of "Chick-Fil-A-ness" since CFA also does waffle fries notably well, but I might venture to say Chick-Fil-A's fries are lighter and better. The prices are a bit high, but such is the life when you're a resident of the East Bay. With good food and friendly service though, I can't really complain. read more

We have gotten take out from here countless times and it's always been delicious but on the pricier end. On that note, I'm giving it a 4 rating but it's more '3.5 rounded up to 4' for me because the prices is really what keeps us from coming here too often. I also dined in once during a Giants playoff game so the atmosphere was fun as well. I enjoyed the beers on tap and you can purchase a card to get samplings of different ones. There are now 3 other locations around Contra Costa County as well so I'm glad they are thriving. Businesses that were able to survive the pandemic and now opening new locations are pretty resilient. My go to is usually Sticky Chicky and it is exactly like it sounds! It can get messy so make sure you have some wipes ready. We've also tried the Naughty Nash (a bit too spicy for me even though flavor is good) and the Basic Chick (almost TOO basic considering it's still an expensive sandwich). They have waffle fries which is one of my favorite type of fries - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! We tried the loaded Kimchi Waffle Fries recently and it was sort of a meal in itself (similar looking & tasting to the fries of a popular Korean Fusion truck - perhaps was inspired by them). They were good but not a must get item for me. Kimchi really does elevate a dish so it's hard to get it wrong. Solid spot for fast casual chicken sandwiches & fries, good for families with kids, groups, but in my opinion a bit on the pricier side given the portions. Plenty of free parking in the parking lot. We got takeout from here tonight and got the Love Me Tenders 15 piece family meal. What a great deal! It costs $32.99 for 15 chicken tenders, 2 large sides, a family size dessert, and a family size fountain drink. If you order the 7 piece chicken tender meal (tenders, reg side and reg drink), it costs $17.99. So if you do the math, it's worth it. I really like their chicken tenders. It does NOT have a greasy, thick, heavy batter. You can actually taste the chicken and every piece of chicken is juicy. Whenever i order chicken tenders off a menu, more times than not it tastes like frozen tenders that are fried and dried out. Not the case here. These are the real deal. Came with all the sauces- ranch, bbq, honey mustard, buffalo. For the large sides we got the waffle fries and macaroni and cheese. Waffle fries are crispy and pretty standard. The white cheddar macaroni and cheese is made with shells in a very creamy cheesy white cheddar sauce- very decadent, rich, and delicious. Can't go wrong with either of these sides. And the large side portions are very generous. The family size fountain drink is literally a gallon jug of your choice of soda. The family size dessert was a box of the glazed mini donuts. Light, bite-sized donut holes with a hint of sweetness from the glaze. They are the perfect accompaniment to finish of such a savory meal. Was working in the area so decided to give them another shot. Went with the recommendation I received from Kevin, the Business Manager and decided to try the Naughty Nash combo. The COVID precautions are still the same, so I will not go over it again. The food itself was pretty good. Per the recommendations I got the Naughty Nash, but only a little bit of heat to it. I knew it was going to be spicy, so I did not want to eat a sandwich that would make me sweat at work. Overall, the sandwich was really delicious. It was fried, but not overly fried. The sauce was spicy and paired well with the meat, and the jalapeño slaw fit the sandwich. My waffle fries were very crispy and felt fresh from the fryer, even though I had to walk it back to work and let it sit in the bag for a little. My drink was the same, so nothing special. Only downside I would say was my buns were a bit "soggy". Not sure if it was the sauce or the bun itself. It didn't hamper my meal too much though. Overall, a better improvement. The price was still a bit expensive for a meal (~$16). But I felt very satiated afterwards. I would give them another 1/2 star, just because the sandwich was a lot better this time. I think the menu deserves 5 stars because everything looks and sounds amazing. I literally said "oh hell yes" when I looked at the menu after a coworker suggested it for lunch. However, my sandwich was just so-so and I was a little underwhelmed. My go-to is usually buffalo chicken, so that's what I did here. I ordered a "Buff Chick" meal, and upgraded to nacho fries. The chicken was huge, but the buffalo sauce was very standard and nothing special. Good, but not great. The nacho fries were REALLY good, on the other hand. I think the rest of my coworkers had similar thoughts on their meals, too. Would I order again? Sure. But it was just "fine" for the price. As I write this post-meal I must confess that I'm stuffed. If I were a chicken I would've most definitely been "plucked" (am I using this terminology right...Ha-ha! Prob not)! I didn't get the chance to try the beer during my visit, but it did look like there was an array of choices you could get on tap. Note: my visit was for a to-go order and I did not dine in. While there were many chicken sandwich options, I ended up choosing the Tweety Bird with a side of waffle cut fries. The Tweety Bird has honey mustard, jalapeno heat slaw, and dill pickles. I enjoyed my sandwich, but honestly wish it was a bit spicier. If it was possible to add an extra kick I definitely would've been down to clown. Regardless it was a solid sandwich. The chicken wasn't dry, it was moist and juicy and the heat slaw and honey mustard worked well with the protein and the bun! It was an overall good combo. The waffle-cut fries were also pretty good too, but they leaned towards the saltier side (at least personally). Getting a side of ketchup really helped to cut down the saltiness. My colleagues got the Rooster, which is another fried chicken sandwich that has sharp cheddar, apple wood bacon, an over-easy egg, and house pepper jelly. They both told me that they enjoyed it, however, it was definitely sweeter than they thought it was going to be. As one of their sides they got the macaroni and cheese, which we all got to get a bite of an we found it to be super cheesy, rich, and heavy - aka it's good but be prepared for a food coma folks! Also, they tried the buffalo cauliflower "wings" and said they were quite good and had a heavier vinegar flavor than some may be particularly accustomed. During lunch hours this place can get really busy and getting to the front of the line can take some time. They also have screens on the side that you can order from near the ketchup, but if you're trying to pay with a gift card you do have to go to the physical register. I also noticed that some patrons did order they food ahead for pick-up and they were able to avoid the hustle and bustle of the lunch rush. For those of you worried about parking, they DO have a parking lot. In fact it's in the same plaza as Ike's, Sprout's, etc., but if you're familiar with the area you are also likely aware that this means it can get super busy. If I'm honest, this spot is definitely worth trying and I would come again, but not sure how often I'd crave it. All in all, it's a pretty good lunch option. It tastes good and it's filling. They don't just have fried chicken sandwiches, but also have chicken wings, chicken salads, and fried chicken tacos - so as long as you like fried chicken there's bound to be something here for you but if you don't like chicken, not sure if Plucked is the right spot for you. read more

My bf and I finally got to try this place, my coworker has been talking about this for the longest time! I'm so glad we did, my bf loved it! His rating of this place is 5 stars and that's absolutely rare for him to say. I expected a lot from it because of how pricey it was... $32 for our meals. EXPENSIVE! It's a decent size fast food restaurant and there was no line when we came on a weeknight. We weren't sure how big the portions were so we got the chicken and waffle sandwich meal and the rooster meal. It comes with a side and a drink. We picked waffle cut fries and mac and cheese as our side dishes. It took them around 5-10 minutes to get our order done. I really liked the chicken and waffle sandwich! I couldn't eat it like a sandwich though, got too messy but still really good! I thought the rooster sandwich was just alright, there was some sort of jam that didn't taste that great to me. The hubbs decided to be nice and picked up a couple of fried chicken sandwiches for us for dinner. I've had the location book marked for a while and have been wanting to try the Sticky Chicky so I was excited to try it. My Sticky Chicky was very tasty but lost a lot because it had sat in the commute to Livermore. I ate my sandwich about 30-min after we got it and with the sauces and jalapeño coleslaw it was very much on the soggy side. This is a messy sandwich that should be eaten right away. Halfway through, I pulled the sandwich apart and ate the chicken and coleslaw. I did have to pick out some of the jalapeños because it was a little overkill with jalapeño coleslaw and additional jalapeños. The hubbs had gotten a plain fried chicken sandwich which survived the commute better, when crunchy the chicken is definitely yummy. I've been to the Pleasanton branch a couple of times and this branch is up to par as Pleasanton's. Food is the same quality. I like Plucked because their chicken is seasoned well and fried perfectly to a crisp. Not overly fried and the meat is fresh, not rubbery. My dad really enjoyed the Lemon Pepper chicken wings. I wish I got to try them but I was so full from my enormous Valley Chick salad. The wings certainly looked good and from where I was sitting, it looked crispy and moist. Th Rooster didn't look that great at first. I thought the yolk was overly cooked but when my son took a bite, the yolk was runny and drizzled over the sandwich with a vengeance - saying, "Here I am, ready to add richness to yo chicken!" Was looking for some food spots to eat after shopping at the Livermore outlet and this place popped up. From the pictures, it all looked amazing! I'm a fried chicken lover and I'm always in the mood for some chicken haha. We decided to stop by and it wasn't so busy. It looks like one of those restaurants that are hidden and no one really knows about. The restaurant was spacious and there were plenty of tables available. There were two long communal tables and individual tables set up. The place included a self serve beer tap, which I thought was pretty cool. As I was looking at the menu, the options all seemed super tasty. However, I like a little spice, so I opted for the Flaming Mo which had ghost pepper cheese and jalepeno. I upgraded to a side of nacho fries. This upgrade is not the same as the loaded nacho fries which included fried chicken pieces. The burger was soooo good and flavorful! It wasn't a lot of heat as I expected, but it was enough for me. The chicken was crispy and juicy! They use chicken thighs, which is why they are so flavorful and juicy! I love cheese fries, so the the nacho fries were on point! My boyfriend had the naughty Nash and his spice level was "kinda hot". He really enjoyed his sandwich and said he wanted to try the Flaming Mo next time! Overall, we really enjoyed Plucked and wish there was a location near us; we live in Richmond. I cannot wait to come back next time when we're in the area! This is one of my top chicken sandwich places!!! read more

Great tasting sandwiches. My favorite is the Nashville Hot! It's got great spice and a delicious authentic taste! The waffle fries are also amazing! Be sure to upgrade and get the biggest size! Plenty of sandwiches to choose so be sure to bring an appetite. Tons of chicken on the sandwiches. Prices are a little high but I suppose that is expected nowadays. read more

Came here around 1:30 PM with a couple coworkers. I had been to the Pleasanton location, but this was my first time trying the San Ramon location. I rather liked the kiosks that you could place your orders on instead of waiting for a cashier to take your order. I noticed some new items on the menu that we had to give a try. The table shared the kimchi waffle fries- which were amazing. My coworker and I ordered the fried chicken tacos and the rocket tacos and shared. The fried chicken tacos used to be my go to menu item, but I actually enjoyed the rocket tacos more. I think I have a new favorite! My other coworker had the naughty nash and she said it was very good. Overall, we all enjoyed what we got and will definitely be back for more! read more

Naughty Nash - I asked for "hot as pluck" because I loved spicy food, and boy oh boy they weren't kidding when they warned me how painfully spicy it would be. But don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it still very much. They slathered Nashville hot pepper oil on the fried chicken and inserted slices of jalapeño in my sandwich. It was hot, it burned my mouth, but it was super delicious too! The slaw provided a nice, welcome cool relief from the heat snd also a pleasant crunchy texture to the sandwich. At the end of my meal, I was sweaty "as pluck". As much as I loved what I ordered, I'd probably order just the "kinda hot" next time, lol. Price was $10 for the sandwich only at the store as of March 2020, even though the website said $9. White Cheddar Mac & Cheese - a great side to go with the fried chicken sandwich. It was creamy, cheesy with a bold note of white cheddar in the flavor. It was great. They used the shell-shaped pasta for the noodles. My only dislike was that the noodles were a bit too soft for my liking, but it was understandable because this dish was most likely made in advance and not to order, so the noodles were probably on heat for hours and continued cooking during those times. Completely understandable. Overall store look was pretty clean and tidy. The staff made a few rounds to clean up the tables while we were there, which was nice and surely helped keep the place neat. The employees were all very nice and friendly. They delivered our orders to our table and cleaned up after we were done. It was great. I would certainly go back. read more

This chicken is so "plucking" good!!! I saw a picture of the Valley Chick salad online and it looked delicious. I was kinda prepared for it not to look the same as it did the photo but I was pleasantly surprised at how colorful and fresh the greens looked... especially the avocado. It was perfectly ripe; not to firm or too mushy and didn't have a single brown spot on it. Avocados are tricky to serve just right, so that in and of itself was worth 5 stars. I got extra fried chicken on top of my salad and that was a wise decision because that chicken was goooood! Seasoned perfectly, fried just right, a little crispy and not at all greasy. The chipotle lime ranch dressing had a bit of a kick, but nothing too serious, and it complimented the ingredients of the salad nicely. My salad was served in an aluminum bowl (like a kitchen grade mixing bowl). That threw me off a bit (I thought my order wasn't finished yet and hesitated picking it up from the counter), but I appreciate them doing their part to cut down on unnecessary plastic waste. read more

If you are obsessed with fried chicken or a sandwich... this place is the JAM! Their fried chicken sandwiches are HUGE, tasty, and freaking juicy. I can during lunch rush, though there was a bit of a line, the food came out relatively fast and didn't taste like it was sitting under a heating lamp. I ordered the Tweety Bird (sauced/pickles/slaw) and for my side kicker I picked the nacho fries (waffle fries) because why not. An extra $2 more to have nacho fries as my side versus was worth the investment to try it. Because it was lunch (work week) I couldn't (and shouldn't) try the beer options however I did peep a happy hour menu that is from 3p-6p. So if you're in the area try it out. We also ordered a side of the Mac and Cheese. I would have gone to Plucked just to order that. It had a bit of southern gravy vibes and very rich without being overwhelming. The food is SO good and huge portions. I get two meals out of the salad with the chicken on top. I've only ever tried the fried chicken. Beware that their hottest spicy is SPICY and I tend to think I have a high heat tolerance. This place is one of our favorite take out spots in the area and we've gotten it about 5x, very consistent flavor and experience. Also they get the orders out quickly! read more

I headed into Plucked on my day off to try something new. I was intrigued by the options and excited to try it. We ordered the fried chicken biscuits, the naughty nash at "pretty pluckin' hot", and the sticky chicky. For something sweet, we ordered the glazed apple hand pies. -The sticky chicky doesn't taste Asian at all which was supposed to be covered in Asian sticky sauce. I really love slaw so I was excited to see jalapeño sweet slaw on two of my sandwiches. It was disappointing and tasted only of vinegar. The whole sandwich was pretty odd and had a lot of flavors that weren't cohesive. -The biscuit sandwiches were okay, a little dry. We did ask for extra honey drizzle on these thankfully. Nothing to rave about though. We paired this with the side of brown sugar cinnamon butter we asked for. This butter ended up being the best thing from here. -The Nash burger was a rollercoaster of flavors. It kind of grew on us. There is cilantro on everything btw. My gf said "it was the spice without the fun". The hand pies were okay and they gave us a free cookies. Overall, this place was very average and overpriced. read more

This location has gone down hill... we are given the chicken shortage excuse but today we were given the excuse of we don't have spring mix for your salad. That was the tipping point of our Friday dinner going down hill. We used to come here all the time and witnessed it progressively going downhill. 1. Nacho fries did not represent nacho 2. Tenders, looked like a tender piece was split to maximize profit. Tender was drier than a desert oasis. 3. Bread was dry and started to crumble apart. My sandwich had the same chicken tender strips. All said and done, this is probably the last trip to this location. Concord location seem to stay in tact with the old days of Plucked quality, I guess not all Plucked locations are built equally. read more
