I personally don't like sour cream and guacamole in my burrito, but my niece got fresh avocados instead of guacamole in it. But sadly the food was bland, and chicken was dry and luke warm. Not as fresh as I had at other restaurants. The prices were quite steep for what you get, but I can see if you're in the area for a quick bite this spot will be popular. I think what I love the most about this establishment is it appears to be the only Latino owned and run Taqueria type of restaurant except for Rancho Grande. Every time I go in this place, the staff is always so welcoming, warm. I am ready to serve fast and fresh The other thing I love is how fresh everything is made, don't be afraid to ask for specials and being from New Mexico. I took a chance and asked them about red or green chili. They had both chili sauces available and we're happy to also give me posole when it wasn't even on the menu. Ordered a super burrito with al pastor, chorizo, pinto beans, and red chili sauce. This is literally the best combination of flavors in my opinion. The al pastor and chorizo were well seasoned and the red chili sauce gives it a nice kick. I was pleasantly surprised with how big the burrito was as well. I added a picture of my hand size in reference to the burrito. The only downside was that on my online order I asked for it to be cut in half but as you can see from my pictures it came whole. It has been a long time since I last ate at High Tech Burrito back in the day when they sold a Surf and Turf burrito. I stopped by Bagel Street Cafe but they were close to closing with limited bread choices. I decided to stop in at High Tech as my 2nd choice. The burrito is decent size. Initially, I thought $13.50 was pricey but the prices of almost everything has shot up so the price is probably within the range of normal. I ordered the Super Burrito with steak. The ingredients were fresh, the meat or something was a bit salty but overall it was a good burrito. I shot a picture of the burrito cut in half showing the ingredients. I've been getting burritos from High Tech for over 25 years. Now that I no longer live nearby, I often stop in for a burrito when I'm in town for a visit. I LOVE that there are vegetarian and vegan options (especially the California burrito, which is my favorite). I would really appreciate if items were clearly marked as vegan or non-vegan when ordering online. Buried in the Sides section of the menu, I found information about how the pinto beans, refried beans, and Spanish rice aren't vegetarian, and that the black beans, cilantro rice, and brown rice are. It seems like it would be an easy update to add a little V next to items that are vegan for peace of mind. As it is, you can swap out non-vegan items for vegan ones when modifying the California burrito (or other burritos) and accidentally order non-vegetarian ingredients. Along the same lines, there's a new plant-based protein option (yay!), but the taco that comes with it isn't vegan because it comes with a mayo-based chipotle sauce that isn't clearly marked as non-vegan, and isn't removable in the online ordering system. I falsely assumed it was vegan and had to call to find out about the sauce, then order a street taco and modify it instead. (Offering a vegan/nondairy cheese like Daiya would be awesome too, but the California burrito is delicious as is. I love that it comes with double guacamole.) read more

We were curious about this place and decided to try it out. Honestly... a little disappointing although it tasted decent. Ordered the fish taco"s" for my wife, the Godzilla burrito for me and a cheese quesadilla with rice on the side for the little man. The Godzilla was straightforward and fine. The fish taco"s" came as a single with two tortillas. Was really weird since it shows on the menu as two and everywhere it's down as two. I have no idea what happened here. Tasted great but was terrible execution. My little guy wanted a straight cheese quesadilla with rice on the side. So ordered him that but for some reason they put the rice inside? I'll summarize: selected the breakfast burrito with egg & carnitas. All it had were egg, carnitas, and beans; medium in size; no chips; $13.50 but with deliver $22. Was I happy? No. The burrito is supposed to have cheese, green onions, red chile salsa, avocado-verde salsa. Did it have? No. So, I don't know if it's a Doordash app issue, or the store...so I won't fault High Tech. On the app, you could select upto 13 free items to add. But because it was supposed to have egg, carnitas, beans, cheese, green onions, red chile salsa, and avocado-verde salsa -- that sounded great "as is" so I didn't select any. Enough about that. The chorizo was high quality. I added my own sour cream, hot sauce, and grated cheese, and it was satisfying. Could it be better? Hell yes. Have chips? Double Hell yes. Tbh I didn't expect much when visiting high-tech burrito, from purely the pictures on Yelp, reviews and the walking by, I though this would be another chipotle/ Americanized Mexican spot, lacking flavor and authenticity. But let me tell you, I was very wrong!! Don't let the name throw you off, this place has so much charm and their staff so helpful and kind. the flavor are delicious, good quality meat, and char flavor that adds so much. Service: the staff here is amazing. Even though it's a very fast-food walk setup, the cashier and staff are warm and amazing. My first time trying this spot the kind lady in the front walked us through their various refreshments (Agua frescas). She personally made them and they were delicious. I especially like their spin on the original horchata, they use coconut milk (b4 all the traditional and OG grandmas fall off their chairs and yell out in outrage, hear me out, it is different (even the lady admitted) but it's very appealing - try it, I didn't like it at first taste but it's really good the second time around. Anyways, more on to the food. I primarily go there for the tacos, my favorites has to be the Al pastor with slice of pineapple. Meats perfectly season, juicy not dry, and has a light flame kissed delicious ness. Also grilled pineapple, tortilla, onion and cilantro. Simple and delicious!! Street tacos are the way to go. Steak tender a a great cut, nice flavor, not as flavorful as Al pastor (of course) but the cut is good and delicious. Chicken (yum), shrimp ehhh, I can skip, has rice in the tacos, not my cup of tea. I always try to give this place the benefit of the doubt but it never pulls through. I ordered and paid extra for double chicken and literally got 10 fingernail sized chicken bites. When my boyfriend picked up the order the whole staff gave him sass about him verifying the double chicken. The quesadilla we ordered was truly laughable and looks like a 4 year old put it together. Meat quality is trash, salads are not worth a single penny, and staff truly sucks. Not worth your time or your money. I hate to give a poor review especially during COVID and the challenges restaurants are having. The good. The pico de gallo and guacamole were enjoyable. The southwestern chicken salad was also pretty good although the chicken was dry and overcooked as was all the meat options. The rest of our entres were totally unsatisfactory. Quesadilla falls apart in your hands not made with any cheese just dried meat pico and and lettuce ewee!. Fish taco was like jerky adn tasted so fishy like it was bad tossed it. Pork taco was barely edible beside dry meat tortilla shells dried out and chewey, my dog woudlnt eat the left overs, joke.
