This is my second time visiting, I am so happy to have a superduper burger on this side of the bay. I ordered the chicken sandwich fried and spicy. The flavor was phenomenal. I love the apple slaw. They went a little heavy on the pickles, but that seems to be their thing, so I can adjust that easily myself. I will say I'm not loving the abundance of cornstarch in all of these fried chicken recipes (not just at super Duper). I don't like that bounce when you bite into a chicken breast it tastes almost uncooked when it bounces on your teeth like that but even worse it gets stringy all around the edges. I was trying to eat my sandwich and literally pulling out strings of chicken that I could not bite through. Not pretty. Would I order it again? Yes, it was very, very good. The seasoning was perfect. I liked the side of chili sauce too. Hopefully, it was a fluke, and there was just a little too much cornstarch in the dredge. I've been to many Super Duper locations from San Francisco to Berkeley, Walnut Creek, and now San Ramon, and unfortunately, this was by far my worst food experience. We visited on a Sunday around lunchtime, and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet. After receiving our food, I understood why. The grilled chicken sandwich has always been one of my favorites, but this time it was very disappointing. The bread was burnt and hard, the tomatoes were mushy and made part of the bread soggy, and the entire sandwich was bland and lacked flavor. The garlic fries were even worse. They were extremely greasy and tasted like they had been sitting in oil for far too long. We ended up throwing the entire order away because they were basically inedible. I've had consistently good experiences at other Super Duper locations, so this was especially disappointing. The San Ramon location needs to seriously improve its food preparation and quality control. I won't be returning to this location unless the food quality improves. read more

Super Duper Burger definitely lived up to the hype. We ordered the Super Duper Burger, a Mini Burger, and the jalapeño cheese fries. Both burgers were fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and everything was cooked perfectly. The jalapeño cheese fries were tasty with a nice kick, although they would have been even better if everything was fully melted. It was a small detail, but it would've taken them to the next level. The service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I also really liked the touchscreen ordering kiosks because they were clean, intuitive, and incredibly easy to use, making the ordering process quick and easy. Overall, a much needed burger spot in San Ramon and we'll definitely be coming back a lot more. read more

The first thing I noticed is that this restaurant is nice and clean. Easy to order at the self-serve kiosk. Menu above the counter was easy to read. Received a text when my order was ready. Burger was tasty. I love how they tuck in a little packet of ketchup in the burger wrap. Fries were cooked and seasoned just right! Love that they have free homemade pickles. I'm not a pickle fan but my husband certainly enjoyed that. :) Extra points for having real water glasses to save the environment! We decided to check this out the first month of opening. It packed the crowds in, but we got in right before the rush. It's not bad. No complaints about my burger or fries. I purposely tried a kid/mini shake to sample it, which was probably a good portion for the both of us (we treated it like sharing a dessert). There's a lot of seating, but this place attracts the younger mid-high school kids and families with young children, so every seat will get taken. I'm not sure about this place. We tried a couple things and I have to say I'm not too impressed. Mini burger with cheese Kids enjoyed it, no complaints but they weren't raving about it. Fries was standard. Jalapeño cheddar fries also was standard. Literally shredded cheddar with jalapeno slices on top. Strawberry shake was good Vanilla shake was also good. Fried chicken sandwich was not good. I really did not enjoy this at all. The chicken didn't taste seasoned. I can taste the coating a bit but the chicken itself was rather bland. It's moist but not tasting like much. Also I could only taste onion in the slaw. I feel like there's not enough dressing on it. The sriracha on the side was very vinegary. This was an interesting experience! My friend and I walked in at the height of rush hour on a Friday night. We ordered ahead since it was super crowded, and we had a wait time of about 20 minutes. Expected, and my food was ready by the estimated time as promised. They are located in the plaza with Whole Foods and Target across from City Center Bishop Ranch. I say this was an interesting experience because both items were wrong but close enough? But they called my name? LOL (If you're reading this and the below was your order, I am so very sorry) Single Sensei Burger ($13.50): I was intrigued by the smack sauce! Not too spicy but tasty. This was supposed to be one 1/4 lb beef patty, but my burger had grilled chicken and a beef patty together. Not gonna lie, it was a killer combo and I didn't think twice when I ate it. Only realized upon drafting this review that the menu did not mention a chicken patty LOL. There's no notes section when you order online so perhaps this was chef error? Either way, I will actually order this again :P Fries ($4): I ordered garlic fries and only realized I got regular when I already dug in halfway. Being hungry makes us do hasty things :) Fries were nice and crispy, and I didn't bother to ask for the right order since it was the same price. Could be a 5 star - would return to give it a second try. Came around 6pm on a Friday and it was packed at first. A lot of people were waiting for to go orders. There are two self serve ordering kiosk and one cashier as well. The middle area of the restaurant has a large communal type of table but it can get crowded or full of people waiting for their order rather than people eating there. I did like how they provide self-serve pickles that you can grab yourself near the sodas. These were really good and complemented the burgers well! As for food, I ordered the sensei burger (not on the menu in store, but shows on their website) along with garlic fries. I forgot to sub the ciabatta bread on the burger, but it was still good. I think I'd prefer a burger bun but the ciabatta did hold up well since there was avocado and sauce and some juice from the beef. The smack sauce it comes with does have a kick but goes great with the fries. Garlic fries had great garlic flavor but were a bit soggy and clumped together. Do wish it was a bit crispier. read more

Despite being opening day, they were very intentional and efficient with their line and making food. They split two lines for those waiting for the grand opening promotion (first 50 people got a free Mini Burger) and those who did not need the promotion and just wanted to order could walk in for the kiosks. They serve beer and wine and have TV's inside, so I imagine it could be a nice place for watching sporting events Cheese is not standard on their burgers and costs extra. Burgers themselves are cooked medium by default. Where is the variety and are we sure grass fed means they don't ground up grass in the burger patty? My goodness this was not good. I can live with the dripping grease but where is the sauce and the flavor and the deliciousness of a burger? I got the super duper and they had no sauce but ketchup to put on it. Please add some variety like a blue cheese burger or at least carry some bbq sauce. I also had the chicken sandwich and it was straight up 4 out of 10. Fatty and burnt to the crisp. Their menu claims all these organic ingredients but they must have forgotten how to make a burger actually taste good. The burger reminded me of The Melt (another burger place) burger just a bit., I'd rate it a 8.5/10.The milkshake was one of the best milkshakes I ever had, 10.5/10. Today I tried the new Super Duper Burger. This is where the old Mods pizza used to be. It still has some of the same seating set up but done well. The service is good and pretty quick. You get a greeting when you enter and exit which is very rare these days. It's been open a little over 1 week and it's packed. I got the mini burger, fries and a Oreo cookie shake. The mini burger is a good size. Not a slider but a small single burger. They give you the option of other cheeses like cheddar. The burger doesn't natively come with pickles so if you want them you have to ask. Everything was fresh and made to order. The bun was really soft. The patty was very juicy and filling. The cheese a bit sparse and melted away. But overall a good burger. For a burger fries and a shake is going to fun you about 20. Everything is an add on. The portion of fries is large. They were crispy and hot. The shake was bit runny lacking Oreo so it's not like a blizzard or McFlurry. Is the best burger in the bay? You have to come and try it for yourself. It's fantastic! I've been to several of their other locations many times. This new one has great decor, is in a convenient location, and has tons of parking. Despite it being packed, we were greeted upon entry. We had a Super Duper and chicken sandwich, garlic and regular fries, and drinks. They nickel-and-dime you a bit: of course cheese is extra, but more for aged cheddar? Come on.... And charging like $2.75 for three sauces is a smidgen criminal. All of this being said, the food is delicious. Something went askew and our order was lost. We were just beginning to think that it had been a long time when the owner/manager/very nice person came by, apologized, brought us our food and comped everything. Wow, that totally unnecessary but also very kind. THAT'S the way to provide great customer service. In sum, hooray for them coming to San Ramon, and we will be regulars. read more

I really love Super Duper Burger. Shoot, I love all burgers. In-n-Out, Super Duper, 5 Guys, Fuddrucker's, mom/pop shops, and yes.. McD's too. Super Duper, I've been to the ones in Cupertino, 2 in SF, the one in Valley Fair (Before they closed it). They're all great and this San Ramon one (so far) is no exception. The burger meat quality is as expected. Great fat content and perfecftly rendered so as you bite into it, it does have grease coming out but not so much it's disgusting. The bun, fresh baked and not super airy like Fudds' but it is like a slightly denser brioche. The reason I want to dock a star (but won't) is because they're still getting their legs. We went during the early soft opening. This is so their crew can learn the processes to make everything work smoothly. They've got some time to get it all down, but I am confident they will. We waited about 15 minutes for our meals which is a little long, but when you have 30+ people in line, waiting for a free meal, of course you're going to get slammed. The place was immaculately clean. Not beacause it's new, but be cause the staff walk constantly walking around, wiping tables, and helping people. Top notch! Great job Super Duper. I came back to give this place another try after the manager responded to my previous review and invited me to return for a better experience. Unfortunately, this visit was even worse than my last one. When I walked in, there was no line, yet no one greeted me even though there were about six employees on the floor. As I approached the counter, the cashier quickly turned around and ran to the back. Another employee working at the shake station looked directly at me but didn't acknowledge me or offer to take my order. After waiting a few minutes, the cashier came back and asked if I could wait a little longer because she needed to use the restroom. It wasn't until another employee noticed that I was becoming frustrated that she finally took my order. While ordering, I asked a question about the seasonal menu. The employee taking my order mumbled under her breath, "It's on the menu. Why can't you read?" I felt completely disrespected, so instead of ordering what I originally wanted, I just ordered a mini burger and garlic fries. To make matters worse, my burger came out cold, and the garlic fries were soggy and extremely oily. When I politely asked if I could have a fresh order, the employee at the counter told me they couldn't make anything fresh because the kitchen was understaffed. I returned because the manager encouraged me to give the restaurant another chance, but this experience was far worse than my first visit. Poor customer service, disrespectful staff, and low-quality food made this an extremely disappointing experience. There is a large parking lot, so parking is easy. It's located where Mod Pizza used to be, near Target. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday night. There is inside and outside seating. We only waited about 10 minutes for our burgers. No French fries because I just started a statin . My mini burger was the perfect size. It was a little pink inside, but good. Brand new in San Ramon, very excited they opened over here. My wife says their veggie burger is the best one out of the many places. Good prices and very customizable. We did online order/pickup, so they were a little slow, but it makes sense as they're getting out some kinks still. Inside is very clean and busy- I assume it'll calm down after the opening weeks. They have a pretty expansive menu as well, but not so much that you can get decision paralysis. Thank god it's open in San Ramon! read more

I have been excited to try this location since I read they were opening and it did not disappoint. I went a few days after grand opening and had the mini cheeseburger which was the perfect size for me along with the garlic fries and regular fries. The garlic fries were definitely heavy on the garlic but the burger was the star. It was juicy and cooked perfectly. I also had the seasonal banana shake which was okay I'll probably try a different flavor next time. Definitely recommend coming here!! read more
