Never been to a Habit before, but found myself in the area and stopped in. Very interesting concept, and I was skeptical at first, but it turned out to be unfounded. Figured out the menu, and ended up ordering a grilled chicken burger. Open kitchen so I could see them working the grill and making sure my order came out perfectly. Sunk my teeth in and it was very well seasoned and cooked. I was pleased with my selection and left full. What was really surprising to me was the amount of delivery app orders they processed during my roughly 20 minute dining experience. It was wild, seemed like they were getting one every couple of minutes, I guess people caught on to Habit long before I did. This recent visit (3/8/2025, 12pm, Order #119) ordered their Baja Crispy Fish which was absent of any slaw and only had pickled onions. Only noticed when I got home as thought it a bit plain and referred to their menu pic! Yup, no slaw! Just a flat looking fish sandwich but still good. Street Corn Tots - corn with cream cheesy (no cheese pull!) with random bits of jalapeno as some pieces were bland and others you could taste the jalapeno and the mild heat. Accompanied with an avocado ranch (basically light green ranch!) Location in the Sprouts shopping center - clean with plenty of indoor/outdoor dining. Set up more for self service with kiosks as you enter, online order pickup but can order at the register. Orders are usually ready as estimated. This used to be our favorite Habit Burger location, because food was always made right... I feel like I have to rethink on that. My last experience on September 1st was a 17 minute wait for two burgers - and when I received our two burgers they were the worst habit burgers we've ever had The meat was overcooked and very dry, we had one slice of tomato and hardly any lettuce. Stopped by Habit Burger with a few coworkers and was really impressed by how quick and smooth the experience was. We ordered using the self-service kiosk, and within about 8 minutes, all of our food was ready--fresh and hot. Everyone in our group got their meals within minutes of each other, which was great for a quick lunch. I ordered the Double Char, and it was cooked perfectly--juicy, flavorful, and the grilled onions were a definite highlight. Fast service, great food, and an easy ordering process. I had the caesar salad with sirloin steak. I'm so glad the Habit brought this back as a protein option, even though the meat I got on this day was on the salty side. I also had the tempura green beans which were light and crisp and delicious as usual. I ordered an extra side of ranch. However they failed to include this in the bag. Not only did they forget the one I paid extra for, but they also forgot to give me any at all for the green beans. I understand, mistakes happen. But if you're gonna get the order wrong, don't give me a hard time when I come back to the counter to ask for what you forgot to give me (the employee wasted my time searching for the order record to check if I was actually missing the items). Tried the new steakhouse char melt! It's sooo good even though it looks smaller than the picture. The portabella mushroom and cheese go so well together with the beef patty and sourdough . Santa Barbara used to be our favorite but now I'm not sure if it would be a tie between these 2! Hope this will stay on menu and it's not a seasonal thing. We also tried the seasonal peppermint bark shake. I thought it was a peppermint soft serve. But then it didn't taste that peppermint. And I read the ingredients and it's actually vanilla soft serve handspun and topped with crushed peppermint and chocolate flakes. So that explains why it didn't taste too peppermint to me. On this occasion, I chose to pick up inside and the wait was shorter than the promised 12 minutes. The food was behind the counter. And I decided to enjoy my meal the restaurant. I had ordered a side salad and two char-burgers since it was on National Burger Day where it was buy one and get one, and a medium fountain drink. The side salad met the requirement of a small salad with their special dressing, not extraordinary. The charburger was dry and needed condiments to add favor. Fountain drinks with the variety of choices was the hit of this visit. So for relatively inexpensive meal this is the place. I love the Habit Burger Grill and since I'm staying down here in the Bay Area for a few weeks, I'll take advantage of it , as there isn't one where I live. I learned not to try any of there seasonal specialty menu offering, like the Patty Melt, or that Pretzel bun burger thing. That was a big fail .... no longer offered either. No, I stick to what the Habit Burger does best, the Charburgers! These are grill over a charbroiler so the meat has that nice broiled flavor from flames that you'll never get at say In N Out as they just fry the patties on a flat top. I get the Double Charburger with cheese and add grilled onions. That free to add! This beats the heck out of a Double Double from In N Out. OK, a little more money, but way worth it. I always think of In and Out among famous burger chains from California. The Habit started in Santa Barbara, and over the years it has been a reliable place for great burgers and sandwiches. They definitely have a wide variety of proteins - beef, grilled chicken, fried chicken, ahi, and even that Impossible meat. The Dublin location is a pretty clean establishment, and they have several ordering kiosks along with a traditional cashier. For my recent visit I ordered: Ahi Filet - Normally this is one of my favorites, other than the Santa Barbara Double Char. I found the seasoning a bit more aggressive that in the past. Still, a very solid sandwich. Would be even better with some wasabi! Tempura Green Beans are definitely my favorite side, more so than fried.' Very puffy and piping hot. Enjoy with a side of ranch. Not a bad way to up your veggie intake. Note that besides the diverse proteins they also change up the breads - regular burger buns, ciabatta, sourdough, etc. If I'm not mistaken they also change up the menu periodically. Yesterday was my first time at a Habit Burger, and it definitely hit the spot after a long hike. Parking was easy, the store was pretty clean and organized, and I appreciated being able to order off the kiosks, having never looked at their menu before. I ordered a Portabella Char and Sweet Potato Fries & Fries and my friend got the Original Impossible and Tempura Green Beans & Fries. I love how you can split your side into two different items here - perfect for indecisive people like me. We didn't have to wait very long for our food (less than 10 minutes) and grabbed a booth near the door in the meantime. The burger itself was decent (a very standard burger) but I really loved the portabella mushrooms on it. The fries were fine but I didn't end up finishing them. They did have a good selection of condiments at the counter though, which I appreciate. Overall, I probably wouldn't come here regularly but it was pretty good lunch! read more

I was driving past when I decided to stop in for a burger & onion rings before my Santa Con festivities. There was a gentleman cleaning the windows & he opened the door for me to enter. Such a nice gesture! Another gentleman took my order correctly & asked if I wanted to add on a drink. I declined since I had my own water bottle. My order was ready within 5-8 minutes. Pretty quick! There is 3 order pads to put in your order and even though your putting in your own order the lady working made sure she greeted us. The tempura green beans were my favorite, so light crispy and delicious! The onion rings soo crispy and not oily! I also ordered the mushroom burger and sea salt caramel shake all of it was amazing! Simple and satisfying. I was impressed with my last meal at Habit. This is fast food, no question, but it's made fresh and with high standards for quality which really make a difference. The cheeseburger had good flavor and was nicely assembled. I appreciated the freshness of the veggies and the nicely toasted bun. Garlic Parmesan fries are ubiquitous nowadays but seldom are they well done. Today I found the elusive unicorn, the jackpot, the ultimate: the best garlic Parmesan fries since before the pandemic. The fries were fried a tiny bit more than normal to prevent soggy bottoms from the toppings. Firm and crispy outside but still moist and tender inside. Held up perfectly to the garlic butter. Speaking of which, there was a generous helping of garlic but not too too much butter, enough to coat the fries without drowning them. Also appreciated that shredded instead of powdered cheese was used. Slight disappointment with the veggie burger. Didn't do my due diligence so didn't know that it came with sweet mustard and cucumber. These standard toppings skewed the taste sweeter than expected. My favorite burger is the Teriyaki Char Burger [$5.39] and with Cheese [$6.19] -- love that charbroiled flavor and sweet tangy sauce. It's nearly impossible to avoid their super fries & a drink (as a combo) -- heck yeah!. That's fast food prices, and yet, no sacrifice on quality whatsoever. Perhaps the best under $6 burger in the business. I also highly recommend their salads. They have several kinds to choose from. More than half of my visits I would order the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad [$9.79], and I have them add bbq sauce atop. It is supreme! The chicken is served warm, and again, love that char flavor. "Backslidden Vegetarian meets Charburger!" Being an aspiring vegetarian, I don't come here often, but after a 6-hour hike today I had to get a hamburger. I have eaten here just a few times in the past, and they were good experiences. I was quickly greeted when I walked in the door, and my order was efficiently and quickly taken. They give you one of those beepers which blasts off when your order is ready. It was just a few minutes. The regular Charburger is as tasty as it sounds. Surprisingly, it is only about 440 calories. The fries are a surprisingly large portion, with a calorie count to match it. 440 calories! I did not notice if they had a smaller option for French fries. Naturally, I just had to have a chocolate malt. It was over 800 calories. I did not think it was anything special. Tastes a lot like a McDonald's shake. I think I will pass on the shake and the fries next time. To be fair, if you're coming to this restaurant, you probably aren't very health conscious or watching calories. I'm pretty sure that this restaurant in not the top choice for vegetarians. Nevertheless, it was indeed a tasty meal. I was especially impressed with the manager. I'm not even sure why I keep going back to the habit. Well we decided to go Sunday night since we didn't know where else to go. I did my order online for pick up in the store. My husband went to grab the food and when he came home I was taking out all of the stuff out of the bag and noticed my fries were missing. We only ordered one thing of fries. My husband went back to the restaurant so we can get our fries we paid for and the lady who already helped him when he came to pick up the food said "no the fries are in the bag with the hamburger." And she kept complaining to my husband and kept saying they were in the bag. How could we miss fries? First off she was the manager of this location, and I can't believe she was talking like that. And why would we lie about fries? I also took a picture of our bag with the hamburger in it and there is NO FRIES IN THE BAG!!!! She gave him the fries, but being accused of lying is insane!!!! It has been a while since I've gone to The Habit and since I was in the area with a coupon to redeem, I figured I'd swing by. I decided to try something new this time and went with the Santa Barbara Char (~$7). It is a Double Char with Cheese & Avocado on Grilled Sourdough. I also got it with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, and mayo. The Santa Barbara Char is definitely one of their better sandwiches. They have really perfected making the sourdough buttery and golden brown. That alone had so much flavor. The meat is well seasoned as usual and the avocado really took it to the next level. This sandwich is so filling, it can easily be split into 2 meals, in my opinion. I was pretty stuffed from just the first half. So come hungry! I'm glad I decided to explore more of The Habit's menu.
