Scheduled an appointment with Himar and texted barber regarding my appointment because the time for appt was approaching and he hadn't confirmed it yet. He has read receipts on so I could see he read my message. I texted him again, and still left me on read. He never confirmed the appt so I ended up cancelling and booking somewhere else. However he still charged me the $36 cancelling fee even though he never confirmed it. I texted him again asking him to refund the fee and he still left me on read. Horrible service. Looks like he just scams people out of money. Avoid this place. read more

Great barbers, parking is easy since they're inside of a plaza (no valet), but the music is SO bad. The two times that I've been here the music they play is super inappropriate. A curse word here and there is fine however the first time I went they were playing very sexual reggaeton like guys this isn't a club, be more professional. Today I went back because I really liked the barber's job last time and they were playing AWFUL rap music super loud. I also have to mention no one said hi, or asked me if I had an appointment so that was mildly uncomfortable. All in all, I will try my best not to come back because it's very unpleasant to be waiting your turn for an hour with loud music playing in the background and music videos with shirtless men, rapping about smoking weed and guns and prison. Edwin (the owner) is a really nice guy and reached out to me to see if he could fix it, but unfortunately I don't live in the area anymore. I want to update the review because I still liked the majority of times I've been there. I still trust him and his shop, but just not many of the new recruits. I just got fucking robbed by this fool named Byron. The pictures I showed him and told him I wanted are the last 3. The first two are me fresh out the chair. I paid $45 for the cut I wanted him to copy, but this piece of shit charged me $50 for this average ass bullshit, $30 supercuts job he just did. Look at the lines on the side of my head on the cut I WANTED, then look at the lack of definition on this trash he just gave me. Didn't help this fool barely speaks English either. Fuckin garbage ass barber prolly just charged me extra cause he saw me wearing a suit in the pictures. I asked another barber how much he charges on average for a head and beard and he said $30. What's crazy is I could already tell that that other barber was better based on how he did his client while I was with Byron. I didn't wanna start complaining mid cut and have this fuckin clown intentionally fuck me up, but honestly it probably wouldn't have looked much different anyway. Never coming back here again cause I'm fucking livid. Only reason I'm giving two stars is cause the other barbers are probably actually worth trying, and I don't want my review to hurt anyone else but Byron. If you're considering visiting this shop, do NOT let Byron touch you. And to the business, if y'all want people to spread the word about you being a good, honest barber shop, get rid of this asshole. Definitely changed a lot since 2 years ago. Due to covid I feel like they reduced the amount of barbers in the shop but I like the layout way more than when they used to have more barbers there. According to the barber I had, his name is Nestor, they have another shop in Westmoreland, which is probably where the original barbers from this location moved to. Anyway, regarding the barber that cut my hair, definitely one of the best barbers I've had in a long time. He has great attention to details, friendly, maybe friendlier than the other barbers I've had here 2 years ago, makes conversation and takes his time and really does a good job. New barber shop in KTown. When I walked in, they had only just opened yesterday. It's really nice to see cool businesses like this popping up in our neighborhood. The barbers were super cool and did a great job. I'm not super picky with barbers but these guys are pretty good (check my pictures). He took his time and went over all the edges with a straight razor--very classy! The guy cutting my hair told me he had been working as a barber in KTown for more than 10 years now and this is his first solo operation. The place was very nicely renovated, with new floors, chairs, and counters. There still wasn't much in the way of decoration, but I'm sure that will change over time. I went on a Thursday afternoon, and when I left there were 3 other people waiting. Come quick, cause I'm sure this new neighborhood place won't stay under the radar for very long. Oh, and the price is great! Basic Haircut for 15$! That makes it easy to support local businesses. I'll definitely be returning soon. read more

STAY AWAY. Cheaper isn't always better. They gave me a new hair line! How is that even possible?! They cut your hair without looking at your head. For example, there was a child playing with his toys and all 3 barbers (seemingly brothers) were mesmerized and couldn't keep their eyes off him. One of them took a video of him playing with his toy car and the other 3 barbers stopped the cutting of their clients hair (including mine) to watch this stupid video. I came in giving CLEAR instructions to the "barber" who cut my hair and one of those was to not touch the front of my hair as I'm growing out my hair for an undercut style. Well he failed because guess what? He thought it would "look cool" to use his blade he already used on the sides of my face (you know, where he took my hair line back) and use it on my forehead. I was like what the fuck is he doing? I've never been more pissed at a person for cutting my hair poorly. I still have him $5 tip. I'm an idiot. Have you ever seen the 5th element? Remember the villain with the super short sides, linger top janky hair cut? Well if you don't, here's some pictures of him and my new cut to compare. If this were a Pinterest challenge, he won! I grew up on Catalina and 8th and one day my family decide to leave Ktown; however, I still frequent this area. I have family and friends that I still keep in touch. In all my years of visiting and living in Ktown, I have never seen such an amazing barber shop. This barber shop is a place everyone needs to frequent for their fresh cuts. The barbers know how to fade extremely well and the added perk is they can touch up your beard with a straight razor. I walked in for a fade and I ended getting a shave too. The damage was 20 bucks.
