First time at plum pt bistro was last night for my birthday, and it won't be my last! Lisa took great care of our table of 7, and she was amazing! We loved her! Everyone that came in contact with our table was friendly and helpful. They clearly have a great staff. The restaurant was stunning inside. From the tables to the decor to the plating---everything was perfect. All of the food was delicious. We had several food restrictions and they took wonderful care of us. My best friend has a gluten allergy and her plate looked drool worthy. I would have had no idea the pasta was gluten free. I had a special which was out of the world, someone had steak, another had gnocchi, and everything else looked and smelled amazing. We recently had dinner here and we loved the setting. Lots of flowers, flower pots, butterflies, etc. The parking lot is not really big, but they do have one on the back of the building. We asked for a table outside and we got one by the bar under the awning. Julia was our server and she was very attentive, cute and friendly. We asked for the complementary bread basket (ciabatta) and it came to us warm with some butter. I got the pork chops with the sauce on the side and no salt added. That was the right call. My meal was nicely seasoned, and I was able to dab just a bit of the sauce on my pork chops. It came with grilled veggies. The meat was good but a bit dry in the middle...still....not bad. My husband got the chicken francaise special. It came over a bed of mashed potatoes. The dish was good but a bit salty for my taste. Visited Plum Pt Bistro last night for dinner. What I enjoyed - the ambiance - cozy, warm vibe, nice leather booth. Service was great! We chatted with the waitress and additional wait staff and everyone was warm and inviting. I'd like to say I loved my food but it definitely wasn't my favorite. Ordered the fish and chips. Coating was on the hard side and the fish was really thin. My friend ordered the Cod special and did enjoy hers. Perhaps another visit with a different choice at some point! read more

We paid a visit to Plum Pt. On valentines day after a while of struggling to find reservations at other places. Luckily, this restaurant had something a available. It was quite busy because of the holiday, so we had to wait for our table. The restaurant was dimly lit and had a romantic atmosphere. Apps/drinks: we ordered the tuna tartare and the burrata, both of which were delicious. The burrata was soft and chewy, easily spreadable onto the crunchy bread. The prosciutto was great as well. I do wish they gave you more than two pieces of bread since there is a lot of cheese. It also came with comical amount of arugula, literally a mountain of green on the plate. The tuna came with thin potato chips which paired so well with the raw fish. For drinks, I had a midnight punch which was fruity and sweet. My bf went with the 'Some Like It Hot' martini, as we both wanted to try it. It was delicious! Salty, spicy, strong taste of olive juice and two blue cheese stuffed olives sitting on top of the glass. If you like savory drinks and dirty martinis, this is for you! Entrées: for our main dishes, we went with a lobster fettuccine special and a fisherman's stew. The stew came in a large bowl, it was full of seafood and clams. The tomato sauce was tangy and filling with the pasta and seafood. My bf's special was absolutely delicious. It was creamy with large chunks of lobster. The pasta was cooked perfectly. We obviously had to get dessert, I went with banana bread pudding and my bf had a pineapple upside down cake. The ice cream came in a cute little glass, which was a nice touch. I wasn't a huge fan of the banana bread because it had a strong alcoholic taste, it was a bit overbearing compared to the other flavors of the dessert. Our server, Scott, was very knowledgeable about the menu and was wonderful despite how busy it was. We had a great dinner, this is one of my bfs favorite restaurants and I'm so glad we were able to come in on a special night like valentines day. TL;DR: all the seafood is great, get the tuna tartare! The dessert was a miss for me but could appeal to others! I just have a crazy sweet tooth and love things to be very sweet. This seems a popular local eatery, as the parking lot was full (with many patrons having to park at the nearby Park & Ride), as well as the restaurant. It's a noisy and lively location. We had 9 people here for dinner, with 2 being a pre-teen and a toddler. Beers, cocktails, and soft drinks were the order of the day, rather than wines, given the fare and the vibe. The menu is reasonably diverse and there were at least a half-dozen specials or more detailed on a large, centrally located chalkboard. A wide variety of food and drinks were ordered and everyone really enjoyed everything brought to us. It's a farm to table venue and all the food was very fresh and tasty. One of the highlights though was a chocolate torte dessert. This was so rich and dense it easily satisfied several of us. This establishment is obviously popular with locals and will satisfy visitors too. It is family friendly, but be aware it seems it will generally be busy and boisterous. read more

I recently came with a large group and our service was excellent. We were so impressed with our server. She was personable and gave great recommendations. Food was ok. Service was less than ok. We ordered a wedge salad with a steak. We asked for the steak to be medium. When we cut into the steak it was very rare. The server never checked on us to send it back. We had somewhere to be so we couldn't wait and we ate wha we could. When the server did check on us we explained the issue he apologized and said he would tell the manager. He also said he would have taken it back and fixed it. Paired with crispy fries, green beans, and roasted tomato, every bite delivered. The Honey, I'm Home cocktail was smooth, balanced, and stiff in the best way. Service sealed the deal, our server was patient, attentive, and made sure our group was taken care of all night. I finally got a chance to try Plum Pt. Bistro and I am so glad that I did! I would have put it on my list of the top three restaurants in RI. Where is James Beard? The hot and dirty martini was one of the best I ever had...I wish that I had more of those blue cheese stuffed olives though. The beet salad was perfectly executed with watermelon radish, sherry vinaigrette, fresh roasted beets, onions, goat cheese, pistachios, and greens. WOW! Lucus, our waiter, brought out warm bread with olive oil and balsamic. He was very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the food on the menu. I would highly recommend him as he was very kind and attentive, especially with a full house. The Halibut was definitely a 5 out of 5 dish. The fresh fish was thick, juicy and tender. It was a chef special for the night and what a great job! It was seared perfectly, topped with micro greens, and finished on a salad with fresh strawberries with a vinaigrette. The flavors were amazing and it was super healthy to boot. Although, we only had enough room for for a couple of bites, we had to a homemade pasta dish so we choose the Papparadelle with Ragu sauce (Bolognese). Outstanding. The stuffed eggplant appetizer was rich, flavorful, and gone too soon. The fluke was so fresh we joked it might've swum through the kitchen doors. The whole menu is approachable but elevated, and there's something for everyone without trying too hard. Drinks were a hit across the board with creative cocktails, a wine list with actual by-the-glass options (that weren't sad), and a beer selection that even our IPA snob gave a nod of approval. This might be the finest restaurant in the South Kingstown, North Kingstown, Narragansett area. A fine selection of seafood, steak and pasta dishes all cooked to a fine and original order. Portions are generous and have a wonderful flavor unique to the bistro. I can attest to the chicken parm, chicken cutlets wrapped in prosciutto, pesto pasta, French onion soup and escargot. Tried Plum Pt Bistro for the first time last night after a recommendation from a friend. I can't wait to go back again! We sat at the bar and the service was very good. The bartender was attentive, constantly refilling water and checking in. Drinks were tasty, appetizers were delicious (calamari and escargot) and our meals were equally as amazing. I'm a sucker for homemade pasta, and it did not disappoint. Ended the meal with the tiramisu, and even that was tasty. All and all, 10/10. I will not be returning to Plum Pt Bistro -- LADIES, EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN DINING HERE. I was so excited to try this restaurant, and the food was decent, but my group had one of the worst service experiences we've ever experienced. An older man seated at the bar next to my table took an unprompted photo on his cell phone of us ladies, and we caught him. We saw him zoom in on us, examine us in the photo, and then close his camera app. While this was disturbing enough itself, what was even more disturbing was the restaurant staff's reaction to the situation. They were unwilling to speak to the patron, who we learned is a regular at the restaurant and is friends with the chef, and offered us a (cheap) bottle of rose as their "apology". The creep who took our photo is named Frank, and we learned from another server that this is not the first time this has happened. And still, management decided to protect him when all we wanted was for the photo to be deleted. To say I am disappointed in management (especially the women) is an understatement. I am appalled. I was also appalled when the chef came out to speak with us and apologize (it did not seem genuine), and all he had to offer was "yeah, he takes edibles and he comes here." As if that excuses the behavior exhibited. I will never return to Plum Pt, and I hope protecting this creepy patron Frank was worth losing 4 potential loyal customers as well as the reviews we have all submitted. I beg of you to do better, and protect your customers better, especially women. Shame. read more

They have a bar out there too which adds to the ambiance They have a nice selection and we had trouble deciding so my friend and I chose two dishes and we split them. They were both delicious. I ordered the seared tuna special with a citrus pistachio sauce. It was cooked perfectly and it was very flavorful. She ordered the handmade pasta PAPPARDELLE - slow stewed tuscan meat ragu. That was delicious too. We were happy we split the dishes because they were both delicious. My husband had the fisherman stew. It was a very hearty portion. He was very happy with his dish. For appetizers we tried the grilled octopus which was cooked perfectly and the spicy lentil balls were also very tasty they were not too spicy. For dessert we tried the tiramisu, it was just ok, too much cream. But the chocolate chip bread pudding (special) with pumpkin whipped cream was AMAZING. I also tried the spicy martini from their cocktail menu and I did not like that. This is a nice small restaurant in North Kingstown and perfect for a date night or get together with friends/family. I would definitely recommend having reservations. Everyone here was really friendly and customer service was great including the bussers! The bread and butter they provided were good and the bread was nice and warm! We had their calamari which was really good and crispy with a slight kick to it. I really enjoyed the cherry pepper sauce and pickled onions with it! My husband and I got their handmade pastas. The fettuccine was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked! I got the mafaldine which was much lighter and I really enjoyed their handmade noodles but probably could have used more cheese and/or more sauce. Overall, we were very happy with their homemade pastas and the perfect chewiness to them. My husband loved their take on a dirty martini called some like it hot and enjoyed the blue cheese stuffed olives. It was a delicious drink! I had the harbor sunset drink which was okay and light. My only complaint is the restaurant gets very loud inside so you feel like you're yelling to each other. Also, when we arrived and checked in the hostess mentioned she was waiting for the people to finish up (we were also 20 min late) and it seemed like other people were waiting for their table too but soon got seated on a Friday night. As we shifted towards the bar area to order a drink, the hostess mentioned to us that our table was free but she was waiting for the other table nearby to leave so we could have a little more space. The tables weren't super close together so we said it's okay we can sit down. While sitting there, it might been another 30-40 min until the other party left, so I'm glad we opted to sit down at our table because the closeness was really no big deal. I came here back when this place opened and haven't been back in a very long time. I'm not sure why it's taking so long to return but I will certainly be visiting again more often this year even if it's ordering take out. Hostess got as seated within 10 minutes, despite no reservation. Lisa was sweet, professional and charismatic throughout our stay, and we enjoyed her company. We got calamari, burrata and a grilled chicken caesar. Calamari was delicious with a jalapeño type sauce, burrata was amazing and had ample prosciutto, and the salad was huge! Recently looked over the menu, and was planning to go again soon. Grilled octopus on the menu. Ugh, so disappointing, and so surprising given that one of the owners is supposedly vegan. I don't like that any animals are sacrificed for food..but octopuses are particularly intelligent...and is it really necessary to add to the menu?? I can't return. Went on a Tuesday, busy but not at capacity. Took anout 10 minutes before being greeted by waitress who arrived holding dirty dishes from another table while telling us about the specials. Caesar salad over dressed and lettuce was limp like it had been prepped hours earlier. Seafood was over cooked. Very loud, difficult to hear across the table. Charming restaurant with fantastic food. Grabbed dinner here with friends last night and had a great dining experience. It was packed for 5:30 on a Thursday so I was thankful to have made a reservation. The parking is abundant in the adjacent park and ride lot just across the street. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. There's a cute full bar on the deck outside with some dining tables under an awning. It was blazing hot so I thanked my lucky stars that my table was reserved inside but something to note if you do call to get a table ahead of time. The food is listed as Italian but there's plenty of options outside the traditional Italian fare. I enjoyed an AMAZING dish of homemade pappardelle pasta with a pistachio pesto. I added a protein of grilled shrimp and it's easily the top ten of pestos I've enjoyed. Not oily but rich, deep nutty flavor but not overwhelming. And the basil was forward but not overpowering. Huge portion that would have easily been today's lunch had one of my dining companions not finished it for me. We also shared the appetizer of rolled eggplant parm which I would totally get again. The marinara sauce in the hot skillet baked out the rich ricotta filling and was great as a dip fit the crusty rolls served at the table. Lots of kids so family friendly. Not a quiet dining room so be prepared to speak loudly and enjoy the high energy dining room. Servers were great.
