Visited Plum Pt Bistro last night for dinner. What I enjoyed - the ambiance - cozy, warm vibe, nice leather booth. Service was great! We chatted with the waitress and additional wait staff and everyone was warm and inviting. I'd like to say I loved my food but it definitely wasn't my favorite. Ordered the fish and chips. Coating was on the hard side and the fish was really thin. My friend ordered the Cod special and did enjoy hers. Perhaps another visit with a different choice at some point!

We paid a visit to Plum Pt. On valentines day after a while of struggling to find reservations at other places. Luckily, this restaurant had something a available. It was quite busy because of the holiday, so we had to wait for our table. The restaurant was dimly lit and had a romantic atmosphere. Apps/drinks: we ordered the tuna tartare and the burrata, both of which were delicious. The burrata was soft and chewy, easily spreadable onto the crunchy bread. The prosciutto was great as well. I do wish they gave you more than two pieces of bread since there is a lot of cheese. It also came with comical amount of arugula, literally a mountain of green on the plate. The tuna came with thin potato chips which paired so well with the raw fish. For drinks, I had a midnight punch which was fruity and sweet. My bf went with the 'Some Like It Hot' martini, as we both wanted to try it. It was delicious! Salty, spicy, strong taste of olive juice and two blue cheese stuffed olives sitting on top of the glass. If you like savory drinks and dirty martinis, this is for you! Entrées: for our main dishes, we went with a lobster fettuccine special and a fisherman's stew. The stew came in a large bowl, it was full of seafood and clams. The tomato sauce was tangy and filling with the pasta and seafood. My bf's special was absolutely delicious. It was creamy with large chunks of lobster. The pasta was cooked perfectly. We obviously had to get dessert, I went with banana bread pudding and my bf had a pineapple upside down cake. The ice cream came in a cute little glass, which was a nice touch. I wasn't a huge fan of the banana bread because it had a strong alcoholic taste, it was a bit overbearing compared to the other flavors of the dessert. Our server, Scott, was very knowledgeable about the menu and was wonderful despite how busy it was. We had a great dinner, this is one of my bfs favorite restaurants and I'm so glad we were able to come in on a special night like valentines day. TL;DR: all the seafood is great, get the tuna tartare! The dessert was a miss for me but could appeal to others! I just have a crazy sweet tooth and love things to be very sweet. Overall a great night!

I've been to Plum Point a few times for date night and absolutely loved it. Everything is made to order and most can be made gluten free. I recently came with a large group and our service was excellent. We were so impressed with our server. She was personable and gave great recommendations. We tried a little bit of everything and all left full. Thank you for always being a great go to spot.

Plum Point Bistro is the real deal. Started with the chowder and it was rich, flavorful, and not too heavy. The bistro steak was cooked perfectly and that garlic butter on top? Unreal. Paired with crispy fries, green beans, and roasted tomato, every bite delivered. The Honey, I'm Home cocktail was smooth, balanced, and stiff in the best way. Service sealed the deal, our server was patient, attentive, and made sure our group was taken care of all night. Only knock is it gets loud if you're trying to have a conversation at the table, but the food and service more than make up for it. Solid 5 stars.

So let me begin with telling you to make reservations! This is an only reservation type of restaurant so plan accordingly. Now to review the food and drinks, I had the Plum St bistro steak and it was amazing! My friends had the pasta and a cod burger and we were all happy! This is a very popular place because there were a lot of people there waiting for their reservations. Fun place for small groups of friends or families who don't mind a lively atmosphere and have to speak up. Come see for yourself!

Ken our bartender was awesome! He gave us an entertaining translation of the menu! Great cocktails. The handmade pasta was delicious. Glad I tried this restaurant and didn't go by past reviews. A must try! Sit at the bar!

I finally got a chance to try Plum Pt. Bistro and I am so glad that I did! I would have put it on my list of the top three restaurants in RI. Where is James Beard? The hot and dirty martini was one of the best I ever had...I wish that I had more of those blue cheese stuffed olives though. The beet salad was perfectly executed with watermelon radish, sherry vinaigrette, fresh roasted beets, onions, goat cheese, pistachios, and greens. WOW! Lucus, our waiter, brought out warm bread with olive oil and balsamic. He was very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the food on the menu. I would highly recommend him as he was very kind and attentive, especially with a full house. The Halibut was definitely a 5 out of 5 dish. The fresh fish was thick, juicy and tender. It was a chef special for the night and what a great job! It was seared perfectly, topped with micro greens, and finished on a salad with fresh strawberries with a vinaigrette. The flavors were amazing and it was super healthy to boot. Although, we only had enough room for for a couple of bites, we had to a homemade pasta dish so we choose the Papparadelle with Ragu sauce (Bolognese). It was excellent as well, with the perfect amount of sauce and fresh cheese. Can't wait for lunch tomorrow!

We sat at a high top in the bar and our waitress, who I called the Ice Queen, waited on us. Efficient but completely not friendly. We started with the Brussel Sprouts which were not great (my husband's are better), too much vinegar or something. For entrees, I had the chicken parm -- the chicken was super thick (not pounded out) and had very little flavor. The spaghetti was not fresh made -- felt like it was made yesterday and heated up -- the sauce wouldn't stick on it for some reason, weird. My husband had Eggplant parm and it was the worst he'd ever had - you couldn't even find the eggplant - it was just breading. Was sad, I'd picked the restaurant. Maybe it was an off night...?

Located right on Thames Street, the restaurant is close enough to enjoy the energy of the area, but just far enough off the main path that it felt peaceful and relaxed rather than crowded and chaotic. From the moment we walked in, we were charmed by how beautiful and unique this restaurant was. Located in an old house, the space has so much character and is decorated beautifully. Throughout our entire meal, Italian music played in the background, which really added to the warm, authentic atmosphere and made the whole experience feel even more special. After sitting down, we were quickly greeted by our server, Nicole, who was absolutely amazing. She was kind, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a great experience. Her service was a huge part of what made our night so enjoyable. For an appetizer, we ordered the special eggplant parm, and it was out of this world. The sauce had the perfect amount of spice, and the eggplant itself was cooked to perfection -- tender, flavorful, and the perfect texture. For dinner, I ordered the penne alla vodka, which was easily one of the best versions I've ever had. I especially loved the dried ricotta on top. It crumbled perfectly into the dish and added an extra layer of creaminess and flavor that really brought everything together. My husband ordered the pork entrée, and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce was absolutely incredible, and he decided to add pasta with it, which ended up being such a great choice because it allowed him to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce. For dessert, instead of a traditional dessert menu, Nicole brought over a dessert tray with the available options. I absolutely loved this touch because it allowed us to actually see the desserts before choosing. Sometimes when reading a menu, it can be difficult to picture what a dish will actually look like, so being able to visualize the options made the decision even more fun. We ended up sharing a berry dessert (I unfortunately forgot the name), and it was the perfect way to end the meal. It was light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. One of the small details we really appreciated was how much thought went into the entire dining experience. Our entrées came out on hot plates, while our dessert came out on a cold plate, a simple detail, but one that showed the care and attention this restaurant puts into serving each guest. Between the beautiful atmosphere, incredible food, and outstanding service, Mama Luisa Italian Restaurant was one of our favorite dining experiences during our Newport trip. It felt like the perfect combination of a special night out while still being warm and welcoming. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable Italian meal in Newport.

We walked over and noticed two people waiting out front. Figured this may be hard to get into but we'd ask anyway. We were met with the cutest Italian man who was frantically running around. He told us he was pretty booked but wanted to keep us there so he figured something out. He was able to squeeze us in between reservations. Meanwhile the two people waiting outside turned into a HUGE LINE. It was apparent that this place is a big deal and we were lucky to have gotten a table. The food was amazing! The wine was amazing! The waitress told us all about the history behind the place and the recipes. If you want authentic Bolognese this is the place. I will absolutely be back. This time with a reservation so I don't give that poor man a heart attack.
