It was a beautifully warm evening and we were thrilled to eat outside at Siena Cucina in East Greenwich, RI. We took a look inside as we were anxious to see the renovations and the entire restaurant was stunning. Our hostess was happy to seat us at any location on the patio and we selected our favorite table. We were then greeted by our waitstaff person, Gabriela, who was nothing but spectacular in every way throughout the night. She was so helpful and specific in describing certain entrees and was patient in taking our order and knew exactly how we desired our meal, time-wise. Our first course was the always delicious Wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. My husband ordered a special entree for the evening, the Tortellini Gorgonzola which he loved. I was also very pleased with a new chicken entree added recently to the menu, Chicken Basilicata, a scallopine chicken breast pan-sautéed with sweet Italian sausage, scrumptious artichoke hearts, and mushrooms, all finished in a rich chicken demi-glace sauce. It was very satisfying and tasty. The roast potatoes and vegetables complimented the protein very well. It was a great dinner served by very friendly and capable individuals. read more

ARANCINI APPETIZER IS SO GOOD. PLEASE ORDER IT! Braised short rib inside, served with jus... I believe. Great service from our waiter. A blonde-ish man. He was thoughtful, attentive, and perfectly present/absent at the right times. Also, my sister ordered the seafood pasta + she added sea scallops. The dish was served with no scallops on the plate. Waiter apologized + then a lovely manager came to apologize as well. My sister decided she didn't want them at this point but then the manager came back out with the scallops in a ramekin and let her have them complimentary to her pasta. Very nice. read more

This was our fourth time at Siena. Whenever we have an event in the Providence area, we are happy to make the hour+ trip from CT knowing we can stop here. Delicious, quality Italian food. Drinks and wine are always on point. Ambiance is perfect for date night or for a group dinner. Last night we were in a little time crunch before a show and our waiter Chuck was super personable and accommodating. Had an awesome experience at Sienna. We went in without a reservations on a Sunday night and were able to find a seat without a problem. The food and service were both wonderful. The crab and lemon pasta was definitely the highlight of the night for me. Would 100% order that again. Lots of chunks of crab with a ton of flavor. My sister and I had a wonderful dinner at Siena this past weekend. We didn't have reservations but we were lucky to snag seats at the bar. Our bartender carefully listened to me and documented all my allergies. He patiently helped me select a dish and creatively made accommodations for sides. The steak was incredible. Instead of the demi glaze, chef prepared an amazing garlic butter sauce that was out of this world! The risotto was phenomenal too- flavorful and perfect consistency. They also provided delicious bread for me that didn't have rosemary (one of my allergens). Our personable, attentive bartender elevated our dining experience by creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere with his ice-chip-filled dirty martinis he made for my sister and me. - Reservation 3/13/2025 at 7:00 p.m. - Drink orders were taken in a reasonable amount of time, yet it took about 40 minutes before food orders were taken. - Prior to offering specials, I communicated that I have celiac disease and require gluten free options clear of cross contamination. I asked if the fillet and salmon specials were gluten free. The waitress returned to say both could be gluten free and that the fillet dish had arugula that is deep fried in the same place as the calamari that can just be removed. She said, "If I can take it" (referring to the deep dried arugula) - I will be fine." I confirmed I could not take it, and opted for the salmon to be cautious. - We ordered the fillet for my husband and I ordered the GF salmon special. - We ordered GF creme brûlée to share and ordered tiramisu for a co-worker to go. The waitress commented that it was okay if I wanted to sneak and eat gluten behind her back. Unfortunately, celiac disease is very serious and should not be taken lightly. - The creme brulee was delivered, and we didn't have any silverware. The hostess who delivered the dessert offered to get us spoons but never returned. - The waitress returned to give us the check and realized we still didn't touch our dessert because we didn't have silverware. She apologized and quickly returned with spoons. The creme brulee was cold. Moments later the waitress returned with the tiramisu to go and gave us our check. -Shortly after eating, I experienced several symptoms similar to when I eat GF food that has been cross-contaminated. I have eaten here several times in this past and have not been contaminated. Based on the service, I'm not confident the waitress communicated the severity to the kitchen staff. Calamari was horrible! Breading just fell off and the squid was very rubbery and bland. We had 2 dinners that were again bland and tasteless. The service was excellent (Tatiana) was very professional and polite. I do not mind paying more for good food but this was not even close. We probably won't be back. read more

Never a bad time. Went last night to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was a wonderful time. We were seated in a booth in the center of the rotunda at the front of the restaurant. A perfect spot for a party of 6. Interior is warm and well designed. We started our evening with wine and cocktails all of which were delicious. The black fig martini was fabulous! Arancini and calamari were next, and both were good. A great sauce on both, and the breading on the calamari was light, and not at all oily. Meals included pastas, and fish mostly and everyone enjoyed their meals. The carbonara was very tasty and made without cream! Bonus points! Two in the party ordered the swordfish and enjoyed that as well. We had three desserts all of which were tasty but the crème brûlée with the lemon curd and raspberry coulis was the standout for me. Another outstanding meal at Siena in EG. Top shelf ingredients highlight all the dishes from the apps to the main course. Beautiful presentations, great service, and the owner Anthony is always a pleasure to chat with when he comes round the tables thanking people for dining here. One of my favorite places in Rhode Island. The food is always phenomenal, the servers are always knowledgeable and friendly, and the dessert is always decadent! We visit a few times a year for celebrations and events, as we do not live close. If I lived closer, I'd be here much more often! This was my fifth trip in general, and second this year. Hostess was at the door when we arrived. Our reservation was already ready, despite being about 15 minutes early. It was busy and decorated for the holidays. As group of 4, we ordered a small charcuterie plate for an appetizer, 4 entrees, and 4 desserts. This included the cod (average), sirloin special (above average), chicken Milanese (above average), and carbonara (average). We also tried their Parmesan risotto, which is phenomenal! Bread is also served to all tables at the beginning. For dessert we had the eggnog cheesecake, banana cheesecake, chocolate cake, and dough boys. Siena is literally walking distance from my house so I've had the opportunity to dine there a few times. He ambiance is very clean and the decor is polished and calming. The service has been professional and efficient on each occasion. On our last visit we dined in and received good service. We started with Ariancini appetizer, which was quite good! We split a house salad and I ordered Pollo al Milanese- vey tasty And Laura ordered Swordfish which she indicated was very good a well. Most Enjoyable Location Me saying that this location understands how to treat people better than Providence or Smithfield is an understatement. We walked in without a reservation, they told us it was a 20 minute wait and it was. Try hearing that timing at the other locations, good luck. This Italian eatery in East Greenwich has a varied menu, tasty food and a very good atmosphere. Any trip to Sienna has to include a cheese and Italian meat board. We split an entree and ordered a couple of sides, it's a good amount of food. We also split a great bottle of wine and at a great value for a higher scale restaurant like this. Unbelievable Experience We were on a mission for a restaurant with incredible Italian food along with a killer ambiance for our date night. Siena didn't disappoint! Not only was our server superbly knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and experience of the chef, but also an expert on every beverage they offered, cheese and meats for charcuterie, specials, and main dishes. When I commented on how rich and flavorful the butter was and inquired if it was European style, he returned not long after to inform me that that make it in house. I cannot do any justice by describing the food because kids have numbed my brain a smidge, but suffice to say, everything was delightful. I've never tried (or heard of) a fig martini with a Gorgonzola stuffed olive, but now I'm on a mission to replicate it at home. I'm not finding much success playing playing bartender, so we've determined that we have to return ASAP to grab a seat a the bar and try some of their more casual fare, such as their pizza and scrumptious appetizers. The atmosphere in the bar was pretty amazing and super busy for a Saturday night so I cannot wait to go back! read more

We did receive a response from management. Our issue was they had a number of large parties in the restaurant at the same time as our foursome and the service to us was extremely slow...three hours without coffee and desert (which we would have liked but did not want to spend another hour there). We had to get the attention of the wait staff on multiple occasions, which was pretty frustrating. Since this was the only bad experience out of a dozen visits, we will try again to see if this was just an off night or not. read more

Wow.... So good to finally go out with our friends. We hadn't seen them since January 2020 and Siena was the perfect restaurant. First and foremost the service was outstanding!!! Amelia our waitress was perfect. So accommodating and funny at the same time. Sorry.... Did not get the water boy name but he was very good too. Thanks Started off with the large meatball and calamari which were awesome! Highly recommend both for appetizers. My wife had a special salad with Granny Smith Apples, walnuts and dried cherries. My wife liked it so much, she ordered it for her dinner but added chicken. Our friends had the short rib and truly enjoyed their dinners. I had the steak and it was good. Overall, outstanding dinner and would definitely go back. Highly recommend!! FYI.... I deducted one star because although the food and waiter were great, it did take quite some time for us to receive our meals (over an hour) and we had only ordered two pasta dishes. Had it been busy I would understand but even the waiter commented on how it wasn't a busy night. Unfortunately this was the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered at a restaurant. I ordered a chicken dinner. It was RAW! not undercooked .... completely raw inside. The waitress informed the manager who came over to our table. She apologized, and said I could order anything on the menu and take it home since she would assume I'm not up to eating at that moment. They took the originally item off the bill, but I HAD to pay for the new item she insisted I order. So receiving raw chicken cost me an extra $2 because the new item was $2 more than the original. This is a restaurant that I visited often, but I will not visit it again. I understand issues happen at busy establishments, but how you handle them is what makes the difference. This wouldn't have been an issue except for the fact there was a man at the bar dinning with Viking ears and a women in a baseball hat dinning directly behind us. I often frequent this restaurant and was saddened by the treatment I received at the Bar. My Husband and I like to eat at the bar. There is silly no issue but last night was atrocious. We had been waiting for a seat at the bar. First come first serve I've always been told. The female Bartender, seemed very inexperienced, never informed us or put us on the so called "wait list". We had been standing there for half an hour at least waiting patiently. Never once told about the " wait list" or asked to place our names. There was one seat on the end. A woman came in and sat down. No issue with that. I heard the Bartender say " I left that open for you." Ok. Then a gentleman comes in and is standing behind her. My Husband went over to the Bartender as we see a couple leaving and started to sit. She then decided there was a "wait list" and proceeded to give it to this couple . I was very upset as we had been there long BEFORE this other couple. Meanwhile, it was obvious the Bartender had " saved" the seat for them . The Bartender never once asked if we wanted a drink. Nothing. It was obvious she knew these people as they were talking with first names and exclusively waiting on them. So unprofessional. The Bartender's attitude was insulting and she was very young and immature to be running the bar. I asked to speak with the Manager, who was friendly but basically told me the bar has their own wait list. I understand that but we were never put on the so called list or even offered a drink. He honestly didn't seem like he cared. Sad because we have gone there for years and have recommended it , well not now. We frequent a lot of restaurants and have never been treated so poorly and unprofessionally. We walked out and left. I'm all set and will not return. I can't imagine if the Owner was there that would have happened. Seems like When he is there and on the floor everything runs smoothly. Bar Staff needs customer service training . read more

I can't recall what night we came on but it was definitely after work and just about rush hour. We did not have reservations, table for four, and they were booked. Luckily we arrived just in time b/c the party at the high top table behind the bar was just finishing up! The service was quick, great, & friendly. The main reason we went there was b/c my son wanted their giant meatball & I must say, it did not disappoint. We had the giant meatball before in the Smithfield location & I didn't care for that version--it was a bit dry. East Greenwich definitely had juicer meatballs--it should be consistent with all locations but oh well. My entrée was scallops in a spinach & arugula pesto. BOMB!!! It was tasty and pretty & y'know presentation helps with making a dish taste better! (sometimes) My son had a filet mignon entrée that was a huge portion, cooked perfectly to his liking (medium rare) and oozed with juice when you took a bite.
