I recently stopped into PJ's Pub in Narragansett with friends for some post-dinner drinks. I've driven by countless times but never made it in until now. We grabbed seats at the bar, enjoyed our drinks, and tried two kinds of wings, both delicious. Even later in the evening, the place had a steady crowd and a great vibe. The bartenders were friendly, easy to chat with, and even filled us in on some special food options they were running during the game. My friends and I will definitely be back! read more

The staff greeted us warmly and got us a table right away. We requested a quiet table and they were able to accommodate our request. The atmosphere was casual yet clean and classy. The server was attentive and friendly. Looking at the menu I could see there was something for everyone. There was pizza, burgers, salads, seafood entrees and great looking specials. Our recent visit, Elyse was our server. She's awesome, helped pair our wine selection with dinner. She's attentive and personable. J lohr cabernet was smooth and enjoyable with Suppa Zuppa - generous portions of lobster meat, little necks, shrimp and sea scallops over linguine. Incredible! It's been many many years since I've dined here, but PJ's was recommended last night and since we was right around the corner and rain was coming down pretty hard. This was more of a sensible choice. So there was a few parties waiting to be seat so we just opted for the bar seating since it was for a quick bite. Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the chicken parmigiana w/penne And the Boon street short ribs. Both really good. The restaurant and bar area is well lit and good atmosphere. Recently I traveled to my home state of RI for 3 purposes; eating New England Seafood and visiting family & friends. My old friend suggested that we head over to a Local Clam Shack only to be met with huge lines of locals, summer residents and visitors alike all waiting for their favorite Local RI Fried Seafood. We opted to take a walk to see what we might find. We were in Narragansett and most of the dining places were closed on Tuesday nights. However my friend a longtime restaurant server suggested PJ's Pub. It was after 8 and the place was not packed and we were quickly greeted and seated.Ice Cold Blue Moon on tap were quickly served up along with Steamed Soft Shell Clams, known as STEAMAS in RI, or as Pissahs in Maine. A stuffed quahog was flavorful and filled with chunks of clams . We ordered two orders of Fried Whole Belly Clams that were really wicked good , just as the townspeople proclaimed them to be. All in all, great friendly service, well prepared menu that's reasonably priced. The decor is a bit dated BUT two out of three ain't bad. read more

Visited PJ'S for the first time about a year ago with my husband .l ordered fish and chips and he ordered lasagna. My fish and chip dinner consisted of 3 small silver dollar sized pieces of fish and a handful of French fries . My husband's lasagna dish was an adequate portion . A salad may have been included with our meals. Our server was inattentive and didn't smile once . Drink prices -well, there doesn't seem to be any consistency among the restaurants in south county so we just roll with it . We may be back to try other items - probably the pizza - but not likely, an entree. UPDATE: Snarky responsive from Manager not appreciated. Had a good experience at PJs on a recent rainy Friday night. The fish and chips were solid. The margarehetii pizza was a nice appetizer. The clam chowder was warm and flavorful and the perfect liquid comfort on an unseasonably cold and rainy Memorial Day weekend. A friend ordered the pasta- liked but didn't love it. The atmosphere at the bar was lively and friendly. Our server was hospitable and drinks were refilled rapidly. I liked the fact that bar offers keno and power ball! The menu is large and boasts a large amount of Italian dishes. I would reccomend pjs to anyone in search of reliable , tasty food in a classy sports bar atmosphere. read more

We had a delicious dinner yesterday at PJ's. It was a first time visit and the reviews brought us in. Our server was friendly and attentive great night : UNTIL: 6:06 PM when the hostess approached our booth to tell us there is a 6:00 reservation and basically asked if we could leave. Are you kidding me?!?! We literally just paid the bill ( less than 5 minutes prior) and were just digesting and chatting a bit. Very unprofessional: we might not be locals but our business matters as does our review. Taking our college daughter out for dinner might have to be a different establishment. As it's very quiet this time of year, businesses I'm sure rely on us parents and travelers coming through. read more

We enjoyed going to PJ's. It has a great bar, good food, but upon our last visit we were met with possibly the WORST service and rudest treatment we've ever experienced at a restaurant. We sat at the bar, and that night there were two women tending bar. From the start, our bartender was preoccupied and not very friendly. But that's okay because it was extremely busy. But what happened next was uncalled for and frankly, completely unacceptable. Our friend who sat next to us at the bar, ordered about 20-30 minutes after we did. He got served. The couple near us at the bar ordered well after we did and they got served. My partner flagged down the bartender and asked "how's the food doing?" The bartender looked at him and replied "the food's doing fine." He then said "does that mean it's coming out soon?" to which she responded, super snarky, "the food will be out when it's out" and walked away. The truth is we had waited over 40 minutes for our meal and she was super rude and dismissive. We notified the manager upon leaving, and he was nice enough to say he didn't want to lose our business and gave us a gift card. But it really left a bad taste in our mouths. Not sure we can go back. Beware the bartender. Update: we did go back with the gift card and had a much better experience. Thanks for taking customer feedback to heart. read more

AMAZING. Request Tamo as your waitress, she is super social and knowledgeable. Makes you feel like you've know her forever! Outstanding service. The food is phenomenal. Everything is fresh. The grilled chicken with prosciutto, mozzarella and pesto sauce is or of this world. I ordered it 3 days this week. The beet salad over arugula and Gorgonzola with balsamic dressing is a great salad and I highly recommended. They give you dark & light beets. It's not a big portion. I don't recommend for 2 people. Fish sandwich out of this world as well as there gluten free pizza with spinach and tomato sauce. They don't have a large selection of food for toddlers that are picky. My niece loves cheese. Anything grilled cheese or Mac n cheese. It wasn't on the menu and Tamo had a special mac n cheese made for my 2 1/2 year old niece. James the owner is fantastic !! We were visiting from NY and my Aunts are as well but when in Rhode this is there late night spot. I liked that James remembered them. After stumbling upon PJ's Pub because we couldn't get seated elsewhere we were pleasantly surprised!!! The seafood pomadore special was outstanding! The shrimp, scallops, and clams were fresh and delicious! The red sauce was scrumptious! The hostess was very accommodating and sat us outside without much of a wait on a week night. First time going there in season. Usually go there over the Winter. I ordered a Seafood Platter and was very disappointed. The quality was excellant but the amount of seafood compared to off season was much less. I recieved one scallop and the fries were scarce... the food must have shifted which showed more plate than food...presentation poor. My girlfriend ordered a clam plate and we shared steamers...both great. Oh well...may try it again...never the platter again...which was the only reason to go last night. read more

Went out for a casual family dinner and happy to try out PJs Pub for the first time. We received excellent service from our friendly waitress, and pleased to see the manager making rounds and chatting with guests. We started with mozzarella sticks to appease the ravenous 8 year old and they were piping hot and served with a tasty marinara. I tried the clam chowder which was very thick and although a bit generic, it was hearty and satisfying. For entrees, I had the seared scallops with 2 sides (mashed potatoes and side salad), K had the cod casino (veg & rice), and little B had the grilled cheese and amazing fries. The cod was fantastic and the scallops were slightly overdone but still sweet and fresh. It was a nice meal and warm atmosphere- we will definitely come back again. read more

The owners attitude was horrible tonight. He was rude and condescending to me and my cousin. We had a reservation and we were checking in with many take out customers that were coming in and out through the entry way in which in house diners wait--which was not Covid safe! Then as we were checking in, the owner took a friend customer first in front of us. When my cousin told him that we were here before the other customer, the owner gave us an attitude and told us to leave and never come back!! He had no customer service etiquette... rude and totally overreacted to the situation. I guess he doesn't mind losing business during this these times. Ok when we first arrived the young lady greeted us very well and took my name appropriately. So I then went to order a drink at the bar and the tattooed fake blonde haired female behind the bar was a rude obnoxious BITCH!!! I tried to order two drinks and she acted like I was inconveniencing her. Ok I understand it is the end of the season and you're burnt out but don't give me an attitude cause you couldn't make it to the beach. We sat at the bar and a young fella came in after us and seemed to be a local. He ordered after us and received his food well before us. I made a call to a constiuent of mine right after we ordered and realized ONE hour later "after we ordered our entree" we haven't received our entree yet... To continue with our experience, The fella seated next to us paid for his food after he was finished and left and we hadn't received our food yet. So, what do we do? Ask for the manager in the black shirt who was supposed to come and and see us first but never approached us at all. I hope the people who own this place address this because it is not good for business and I am pretty sure you are in the business of making money and obviously to do this, make your customers HAPPY!!! Anyway, the appetizer we ordered was pretty good but rather long to come out and I sure she had something to do with that. I have worked in the food industry and know how to work the system and screw customers like she is doing. She is totally white trash and should be FIRED!!!! Hopefully the management/owner notices my post and takes the appropriate action as such so as not to lose future business. She can be replaced with someone much more friendly and pleasant. Best burger in the state!!!! My friends and I visited PJ's Pub this past weekend and the four of us order the Round Up Burger. This burger was the best thing we've ever had and have been raving about it to everyone we know! It was extremely juicy and cooked perfectly! Everyone needs to order the Round Up burger when dining at PJ's Pub. The steak fries served with the burger was also amazing and deserves the hype as well! Went here to get out of the house and have a drink. It was around 10:30 PM on a Thursday night. We ordered bar food at 10:44 PM. I tried the Snickertini I believe it was... IT WAS DELICIOUS! Excellent girly drink. We Needed something to soak up the alcohol went with an order of six mozzarella sticks and an order of chicken fingers. They have really bomb honey mustard for their chicken fingers... Our bartender Caitlin was attentive and very helpful with suggestions. Her knowledge of the menu was on point. All great things to say!!! My wife and I tried PJ's for the first time on Tuesday night from a recommendation from a friend. We sat at the already full bar. The bartender was by herself and was extremely busy. Not a problem for her though! I am in the restaurant business and need to recognize jobs well done! In my 25+ year experience I have never seen a bartender in such control of her surroundings. Every drink was kept full around the bar throughout the night. The amazing thing to watch is that she owned the full experience by also doing service bar never skipping a beat or a smile to each person. As most know restaurants have taken a hit on staffing levels, however the shear magnitude of how she did her job this night was so amazing to watch. Found this cute bar style restaurant after a nearby college tour. Our waitress was very delightful. My mom ordered the Neopolitan gyro and couldn't stop talking about it. They were able to accommodate a Buffalo chicken wrap for me (off the menu) and I swear it was one of the best ones I had in while...they should seriously consider adding it to the menu! Both came with sweet potato fries which were the perfect combination of fluff/crisp. I am so glad I found this spot and definitely will revisit knowing my new school is nearby! read more

We were looking for an alternative to all of the fried food served at most places in the area and felt like a drink, so Crazy Burger was out. Yelp brought us here. A 3.5 average is about right. There wasn't anything special enough for me to give it four stars. The inside was nice with a large bar and plenty of tables and booths. Service was polite, friendly and attentive. The menu was a good size and looked to have something for everyone. A pizza and a pasta dish went by our table and they looked and smelled great. We started with the Greek Isle mussels and they were great. The ouzo added a nice flavor. I highly recommend these. I could have eaten a few plates of them. For an entree I ordered the citrus scallops. It came with rice and broccoli, which were ok, but nothing special. I received a generous portion of scallops. They were cooked well, but the sauce was a bit too sweet for me, but that's a personal preference. Others might like it. My husband ordered the salmon and he thought it was OK. I would visit again if I were in the area, but would probably order something other than the scallops. read more

Stopped by mid week. Very few customers so we sat at the bar. Bad choice. The bartender/server spent all her time chatting with a couple of customers she knew. We had to interrupt and ask if she would take our order. She actually glared at us and came over. It was that way the entire time. So glad to get out of the place. Management must not care how the staff treats customers. The food was very good and the place is very nice inside. For me, I think PJ's Pub was a solid 3 stars. There was really nothing off or bad about my experience and I thought it was good but not quite as good as other restaurants I've tried and given 4 stars. I must say that two things stood out. First our Greek Isle Mussels (olive oil' garlic, ouzo, parsley), was the best dish and I would get that again easily. Second, our waitress was attentive and efficient. I also liked my main dish, the Salmon Joanne, grilled and topped with a cucumber and lemon dill sauce. The sauce was quite tasty, however, I was hoping for a larger cut of salmon. It was wild salmon so that may explain the seemingly smaller cut. If in the area again, I would return to try another dish. read more

PJ's pub is located in a quite area of Narragansett. Good size dining room and you can eat at the bar where booths are separated to meet covid guidelines. Decor is warm and cozy. This was my second time to PJ's and both times food and service where great. Food is fresh and tasty. I had the fish and chips last time in and it was excellent. Prices are really reasonable for the area and qualify of food. I will be coming back to PJ's for more good food and service. read more

We waited over an hour on a Tues night be use they were short staffed. Once we were seated we waited patiently for over 15 minutes until I saw the waitress deliver drinks to a table that was seated after us. I approached her and she apologized for not coming over but said she forgot. We were ready to order drinks, apps & meals but she insisted on doing the he drink order first which we waited for another 15mon, then she put the apps in and then finally the meal. The apps came out fairly quick and when they brought ours meals out, I did not not like the Greek pizza, it was extremely salty and had no sauce on it (I told her I didn't like it) and my niece did not like her margarita pizza, it had huge chucks of tomatoes and we didnt care for it. She immediately got offended and said they've been making the pizza the same for years. I said ok, I don't like it. She brought the pizza away and a man returned with the pizza boxed up and said the owner said he's not taking it off the bill. Ok, I didn't ask. This place is not worth $20+ for a pizza. And the meatballs were pretty gross too. This was our most expensive meal while in Narragansett and our worst. Definitely won't be back especially after seeing how the owner reacts and how he disrespects people that do not care for his food. read more

My experience here last night was horrible!! It was my family and I, 8 people, including 2 kids. We got there at about 6:15 and ordered drinks rather quickly, once we received those we ordered appetizers which consisted of chowder, mozzarella sticks, salad, and a stuffy. We also ordered our meal with the appetizers. Personally I thought the appetizers took long to come out but it was nothing compared to how long our meals took!! We were understanding, it's July 3rd maybe their busy but it reached a point where the kids were starving and acting up and it had been an 1hr since we received our appetizers so we stopped the waitress, who never came over after serving our appetizers to see if we needed drinks of anything. We politely asked how much longer our food would be and she said they were very busy in the back with a big take out order. We said okay that's fine but can you at least get the youngest kids meal out (which was pasta and ONE meatball) she responded again with they are very busy in the back but I'll check. Another 45 minutes goes back and we stop her again and she said it would be about 5 mins. FINALLY the food comes out @ 8:00!!! 2 plates came out then 10 minutes later 2 more plates then 5 minutes later the final plates. WEIRD! Finally we are all fed up so we quickly ate out food and just wanted to get out at this point! It took has another 30 minutes after eating just to get the check!! The place was completely dead by now. We asked to speak to a manager because we were not satisfied at all and we wanted to see if we could get the kids meals taken off. The manger continued to tell us that in the computer it says we received out food 45 minutes after it was entered into the computer. We told them it was most certainly not 45 mins and that the waitress must have entered the food late! He repeated we got our food 45 mins after it was entered and was defensive about it!! He then said we couldn't get the kids meal off because the boss wouldn't allow it but we could get a 25 dollar gift card. That'd be fine if we lived in the state!! Out of the 8 of us 2 lives in RI 3 were from CT and 3 were from SC! The kids were from SC so how are they suppose to use this gift card?!?!? And Frankly we don't want to come back!! It was my first time there and it was an awful experience. I live in the state but I will definitely never be back! The food wasn't anything special and we were treated like shit! The only genuine person who seemed to be shocked by our wait as well was the trainee! She actually snuck away and brought us some extra bread and butter, NOT OUR WAITRESS! I wish I could have given just her a tip but she probably wouldn't receive it since she is training. !!!!!LONG STORY SHORT!!!!!! We were there from 6:15 - 9:00pm; the restaurant wasn't busy at all and our experience was terrible! The staff was defensive and never once came to see if we needed another drink They wouldn't even bring the spaghetti and meat ball out for the kid after we asked just for that. Our food was obviously not entered on time, Then the Manager acted as if we were in the wrong Then they wouldn't even refund us for the meal they gave us a gift card that can't be used since they are from SC WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR BE BACK!!! Don't waste your time or money!! 3 hrs we will never get back waiting for food instead of spending family time walking the wall as we planned after dinner. So many other places to go in the Narraganset area, go somewhere else!! read more

We had a really good experience here. Our server was friendly, personable and attentive. The food was top notch. Really great mix of pub fare and Italian fare. I had the whole belly clams which were fantastic. Very fresh and crispy. My mother tried the lobster roll and it was delicious! Good portion sizes too. My dad had the Fruit Di Mare which was the best thing I've ever tasted in my life. My brother had the shrimp risotto dish and was happy with it. Really nice place, friendly staff. read more
