I visited Plumb Line with a friend from Clarksville who had been before and RAVED about it, so we came in with high hopes. Let me start with the positives: I would give Plumb Line a solid 5 stars for ambience. It's such a cute and unique coffee shop that's perfect for studying or relaxing. The environment was great, and the staff is friendly. That part of the experience was genuinely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the coffee didn't live up to the hype. We ordered drinks from the fall menu (The Cozy Sweater and Pumpkin) and both tasted more like watered-down black coffee with a hint of cream. There was hardly any flavor, and I couldn't taste the pumpkin at all. The bakery items were also a letdown. We both had cinnamon rolls, which were pre-wrapped and stale. You could tell they were probably delicious when freshly made, but that wasn't the case when we had them. I really loved the space and the service but the quality of the coffee and food really missed the mark. I wanted to love it but it just wasn't the experience we were hoping for. read more

I came here for the first time to get some work done and the staff were so welcoming and the ambiance was perfect. I was able to focus and take calls without it being too noisy - which is a huge plus! Wanted to check out a local coffee shop while visiting and Plumb Line Coffee does not disappoint! I was greeted as soon as I walked in. This coffee shop is cute and cozy! Very relaxing feel to it. There was a customer with his young baby sitting waiting for his order and I asked if he had any suggestions for me. He recommended the Cuban Cappuccino. Needless to say, it was delicious! $6.25 for something that is like a 25:1 ratio and tastes like a medium dark blend instead of the natural process strawberry tasting note Nicaraguan coffee I ordered. It was also served extremely quickly and scalding hot. I still think it was the dark drip coffee and not a pour over. Won't be back. Way to far off of the interstate for the quality of a gas station when I was expecting a nice single origin pour over. The service was amazing, this very sweet barista informed me of the coffees they had and I went with a timeless classic, the cappuccino, brought me strait back to being a child again when my great grandmother would make a cappuccino in the mornings, she always talked about growing up in Florence and I always think of that when I have a cappuccino! Unfortunately, my experience this morning was the same as another person shared in a review. I ordered an Iced Whiskey Carmel Latte and it tasted nothing like coffee... more like milk over ice with the TINIEST hint of espresso and the TINIEST hint of caramel syrup. And the worst part is I nicely went back to the counter (not to complain) but to gently see if it was possible to get a splash more of the whiskey caramel syrup (to secretly/discreetly make it taste like something other than iced milk) and the barista was snooty : ( She rudely pointed and said there's simple syrup right there and basically shewed me away. They weren't even busy so I can't blame it on that. I'd also typically say we all have bad days sometimes and go on with my day, but this barista has given these vibes before and my friend and I both found their coffee weak last time. Quiet cozy coffee joint, great place to do work. The woman who took my order was very friendly and welcomed me upon entering and helped me with their menu Bc new places can be overwhelming. I decided on the iced vanilla bourbon latte which is two shots espresso over milk with vanilla bourbon flavor, and one hot coffee with room for cream and sugar. I should note I love a sweet coffee, but I also love a great flavor coffee, the kind you can smell when you take a sip and my latte definitely hit the coffee flavor profile but lacked the sweetness I love so I recommend a syrup that will sweeten it up like liquid cane. My "hot"coffee also had a great smell but sadly was luke warm at best, the shop has two sweetener options at the self service station (stevia and brown granular sugar) I used the brown sugar and getting it to dissolve in the coffee was difficult. For my two 12oz drinks I paid $9.14 I think with a little more trial and open conversation with the barista I can find a great sweet coffee profile Bc the beans truly have a great flavor . read more

I really enjoyed my visit to Plumb Line Coffee and everything I or my friend tried was great. I spent a few hours here as I was catching up with a friend and we were working on a project on our computer. So I had time to start with one coffee--the caramel whiskey latte--and later another (the "authentic Cuban" as well as a cinnamon roll along the way. My friend opted for the creme brulee latte and raved about it. The caramel whiskey latte is delicious, the cuban was super stout but good, and the Cinnamon Roll was pretty great. Prices are a little high and service takes a little bit but it's understandable why as they're using great ingredients (from what I can understand organic as possible and locally sourced when that's a possibility as well) and really taking their craft seriously (it looks a bit like a lab with beakers and equipment when they're working on a craft coffee, they have all the bells and whistles in terms of equipment to make your coffee just perfect). It's also a nice location, good atmosphere in a decent spot. The service was super friendly. I'll definitely give them another stop some time. read more

It was my first time here, and I was blown away by the customer service from the baristas and food/drink quality. The barista that helped me was very informative and recommended some drinks based on the answers I gave for what I like to drink. The avocado toast was to die for, it tasted so fresh and my fat self wanted more but held off since I already had this huge cinnamon roll waiting for me. The iced latte was so delicious. I'm one of those chicks that go to StarBucks and get those sweet "coffee" drinks, but this latte I had was perfectly balanced with the sweet and coffee taste. I really enjoyed it. This was my first time here. I've been trying to find a coffee shop in this area that makes a good Cuban. It wasn't mouth watering, but it was still great. I think next time I order it I will request about half oz of the condensed creamer. It wasn't as smooth as I expected it to be compared to others I have had, but again, still very good. The place was pretty quiet and trendy. It's a great spot to get some studying or work done with your laptop. It was still pretty full of customers scattered throughout the coffee shop. It really close to Austin Peay State University. I wish this coffee shop existed back when I was a college student. They have some couch furniture towards the back that's pretty comfy, otherwise tall bar type tables and chairs throughout. This totally would have been my hang out spot. I'll have to come back to try some of the other menu items. I seen a few items I made a mental note to come back and try. And definitely interested to try their coffee. So next time I have a coffee date with a friend, I'm definitely recommending we come to #PlumbLineCoffee. Staff was pretty friendly too. Look forward to coming back. I had been hearing great things about this place for a while now. I just hadn't made my way down there.... embarrassingly enough it's pretty close to where I live. Face palm. The space it's quite small, but it's pretty inviting. There is a parking lot behind the space, but I didn't park there. I parked a block up and walked. This location is perfect for apsu students since it's right in front of the main campus entrance. Before you even walk up you can smell the amazing aroma of coffee. Like i mentioned, the space is very inviting and cozy. There are and stools when you first walk in and tables and chairs in the back. There's a little nook for you to purchase coffee related items. After seeing great reviews on here and reading about specialty house made syrups, it really made me excited to check out a coffee shop in Clarksville after only seeing Starbucks and having other local coffee that wasn't up to par with my expectations. My hubs got the bourbon vanilla latte and I got the dark chocolate latte. The kids (1 & 7) and I shared a blueberry muffin. The coffee was fantastic! It's been the best that I've had in Clarksville so far! The dark chocolate was rich and creamy, with a bit of sweet. The bourbon vanilla was good, too. I only tried a sip and it was less sweet than my mocha, so I didn't pay much mind to it. Plus, I'm not much a bourbon drinker so I can't comment to the flavor of it much further than that. The blueberry muffin was really good. My 1 year old ate majority of it. The blueberries tasted fresh and a littler tart, just the way they should be. The atmosphere is trendy industrial. The majority of seating is High tables and chairs, with a lounge area in the back made up of a couch and comfy chairs. The only reason I don't give this a 5 star is because of the price. These prices are expected in a place more like Seattle. They do acknowledge that they have higher prices because of better quality. So if you're coming to grab a decent priced drink, expect to pay at least a dollar more than you're expecting. Otherwise, great coffee and great staff! read more

The owners are really helpful to everyone (you don't need to be a coffee snob at all). They have a few flavors that aren't just sugary syrups that cover up the taste of the espresso. A vanilla bourbon or whiskey caramel flavor help sweeten up the drink if you are so inclined. Seriously try a latte though without it.. the espresso they use is top notch. The coffee shop literally has slow drip coffee in their windows which is awesome and I'm assuming something they serve throughout the day. However, the only reason this place received 4 stars instead of 5 is because the cold brew was a little bitter and the bourbon stout cold brew had no hint of bourbon. My wife purchased the sunflower latte and it was better than the cold brew and had a great flavor but overall I would definitely give them a try because it could have just been an off day. read more

It was very hard coming from having a local coffee shop on about every corner in STL, to going to TN and having to drive miles for one ( and hunt for a speciality coffee shop). This was a gem in the middle of a college town. They have plenty of interesting options as drinks go, and I really enjoy the in-house syrups they make. I had the Whiskey Caramel latte and my SO had the Cherry Bomb Soda. The soda was super interesting and I don't think I would ever get it again.
