I wish I could add stars to this review, but I'm left disappointed again. With the impending ice storm I was testing all the connections, and while I couldn't find bubbles, I smelt gas outside where the connection meets the house. I figured it was something behind the plate that I couldn't reach. Turns out that was true, but the poor connection was from the original install. So we're another $300 in the hole for this (emergency fee) and now have a half attached wall plate to show for it. Photos attached. This is a horrible experience with this company for the simple things: The fill valve issue and flapper replacement. The technician would like to replace all toilets... and quoted over $ 3000 ($ 1728.53 +$ 752.36 +$ 666.36) ??? Do they try to rebuild the entire bathroom? Ridiculous !!! The house was build in 2018 !!! The label of " $69 Plumbing Repair Diagnostic + Same Day Service" on the website is a joke . The technician charged me $85.10 with the diagnostic fee anyway. We've been using PlumbV for almost 3 years. We have called them about 6 times for various plumbing issues in our home and a rental property. We've always been satisfied. Called this week for a backed up bathroom drain. I agreed with the estimate not realizing it was a simple fix. Plumber was here less than an hour, ran a snake down the drain. Problem solved. $480. I called a supervisor and he told me this was bc of inflation. Angie's list and Forbes currently lists this exact service at $225 and up to $360 max. Inflation is at 3%. None of this explanation adds up to $480. The supervisor made it clear that he would not adjust the price. PlumbV has lost a long time customer and the supervisor made it clear that he really doesn't care.​ read more

Unfortunately, the Management Team at PlumbV doesn't seem to value their customers any longer, so I'm done with them. Note that most of the positive reviews reference Matt Vanderwalker, the former owner / creator of PlumbV - he's no longer there and it shows. I previously provided a 5 Star review, but have removed it because current management refuses to come correct an installation they did that never worked correctly. (Note: it has been a long time since they did the installation, but they don't refute that they botched the installation and they won't even consider coming to investigate without insisting that I pay them full price for a repair, even though nothing has broken) I have spent a huge sum of money with them and worked with them for over a year on a full renovation of my house. It's sad to end this relationship, but that's the decision of the new management. read more

Full disclosure-this review isn't about PlumbV's service necessarily but professionalism. I was behind one of their trucks for 12 miles as he weaved in and out of traffic on US 70 and Glenwood Avenue and was driving at least 15/20 MPH over the speed limit. I guess that's why all the weaving was going on. Every time traffic (which was heavy) would slow down, he would change to another lane. Maybe if he wasn't trying to be speed racer during rush hour, he wouldn't have to do that. Like I said, I've never used their plumbing services but any company that acts like risking the lives of others on the road is justified to go fish something out of someone's drain would make me have second thoughts about using them. read more

I took off work to be here for this appointment so at the very least they could have told me at least a day in advance if they wanted to change the price and charge me. I wish I would have checked here instead of just relying on reviews on Nextdoor. I was told I would receive an estimate before the technician arrived, but I did not. He offered a free whole house inspection of all plumbing-related areas (washer, dishwasher, all sinks, toilets, tubs, etc). The only reason I called was to fix a leaking toilet (I couldn't get a good seal on the new flap). It should have been about $160 or less, which is what I paid last year when a different plumber came for similar problem. Technician said he'd have to do a partial rebuild of the toilet, which would cost $300 (before I had a total rebuild for $160), and for the work to be warrantied, he'd have to replace the pressure valve for the house, which would cost $600. I told him no way was I paying $900 for a simple toilet fix, which should have just taken maybe 10 minutes. I feel like the whole house inspection was a way to jack up the price and I wished I never would have agreed to that. So many lessons learned here. In the end, his supervisor did agree to do the job for $160 and said it wouldn't be warrantied. It's not like I would ever call this company back again anyway. read more

Friendly service from Richard. Two new shower valves and trim kits function just fine, but I do not recommend PlumbV due to the fact that the tub spout they installed is totally crooked and looks bad. The base plate that should sit flush with the shower wall has a gap of three-eighths of an inch on one side (that's how crooked the spout is coming out of the wall!). Nothing is perfect, so one-eighth or so would be acceptable-- but three-eighths? That's a big gap on one side and a very crooked spout. Visually, it just looks bad. I recommend going with a company that has more of an eye for detail with these kinds of things that you expect to be pretty exact (or close to it). read more

On two separate occasions they have not been able to show up the day they were scheduled and then when they finally made it they weren't able to show up within the time window. When they did finally show up they were super late, came in, notified us that our water pressure was way too high because the main water valve was stripped and then said it was too late in the day to repair and left...... rescheduling to have them come out and make that repair as well as some additional repairs due to the pressure issues has been a nightmare. The second time, we still had their number around for when a shower in another part of the house wouldn't turn off. When we called them, they were responsive and very understanding. Very disappointed today Wednesday 5/6/20 with PlumbV. I scheduled an appointment on Monday and was told there is a $130.0 diagnostic fee- after questioning the staff (Nikki) she told me that the fee will not be charged to the final bill if the work was done- but i will pay it if i decline the work. This was just to put a cap on a small pipe in the backyard that was broken when mowing the yard- I even went to Lowes to find the part (less than $20.0)- but i thought there was more to it so i wanted to have a professional do it. The staff came and the charge was $230.0- the technician noticed how disappointed i was with the price and asked if i wanted him to ask manager for reduction- he called the manager and it was reduced to 227.60 for a job that didn't even take 10 minutes to complete. I called the manager and he didn't want to reduce or even give credit for the diagnostic fee and say I was not charged for the diagnostic fee which was not correct. They emailed me the invoice but the charges were not broken down and I emailed back to request a new invoice; no response. I understand that this is a difficult time for all and business is slow but it shouldn't be a reason to charge so much for such small job. I will never request service with them again- or recommend. read more

PlumbV stepped up when my wife and I were confronted with significant damage on our newly purchased 1947 farmhouse. While foundation repair was being performed, the original sewage pipe was discovered to be seriously corroded and unrepairable leaving us without use of the home. Replaced a shower handle and cartridge for a shower that would not turn all the way off. Service was capable if a bit unfriendly, and a day later than we were originally told. At $275, the charge seemed high to me. When I asked how it broke down the technician said the cartridge alone cost $75, but every model from that manufacturer that I find on line sells for less than $50 and in some cases considerably less. The invoice he subsequently sent me did not break down the cost by parts and labor, just a single charge of $275. Got the job done, but I would not use again. read more

We've used PlumbV many times over the last several years and have been very happy every time they've been here. We've had both Matt (the owner) and members of his team out to the house for various repairs and have found everyone to be prompt, courteous and above all, conscientious about cost and solving the problem correctly, the first time. We've had faucets and toilet parts replaced, various miscellaneous plumbing issues resolved, a new laundry sink/vanity installed and an emergency main sewer line replacement (after a landscaper drove a stake through our sewer line causing every sink and toilet to back up with water). When our master bath jetted tub had a stripped faucet handle that would no longer turn the water on or off, Matt immediately identified the problem and even though the faucet was 10 years old and we're not the original homeowners so we had no idea what model faucet it was, Matt called the manufacturer himself and worked with them to figure out the correct part that was needed and returned to replace it for a reasonable charge. We'd used several plumbers from the triangle area before we tried PlumbV so we know "what's out there" and I can tell you it ain't always pretty!
