Took care of problem but tech was 3 hrs later than expected. Not techs fault but still frustrating.

I called roto rotter originally to fix the leak underneath my tub in the master bathroom. The original owner of the house did not pipe it up correctly and when I went to replace the drain the piping broke. I called them and they sent someone out the next day. The person that was sent looked at and tried to fix the issue but did not have the right tools. So he indicated that they would send someone else out. Two days later the next technician came out and indicated that I needed some specialty parts ordered and that he would order the parts and install them on his next visit. During the next visit two new technicians came out and indicated that a specialty part was needed. So I told them thats what the last technician indicated as well and to check to see if the parts were ordered. Turns out the parts were not ordered. So the two new technicians ordered the new part and when it arrived the day later they went to install it. This fixed a majority of the leaks but there was a smaller leak an the part that was not replaced. So i called and they sent another technician out (5 total different technicians). He indicated that it was not leaking from the parts that were replaced and that would not be covered by the exiting quote. I said this was ok and that I wanted to have the smaller leak fixed regardless since my expectation is that there are 0 leaks under my house. He told me that the 2 technicians that installed the fix for the major leak would be sent out to assess the situation. Well I got a call from the manager this morning that they would not be fixing the smaller leak and that the technicians would not be coming to my house anymore to fix additional leaks. Additionally, the manager indicated that I did not want to pay to have the leaks addressed which is a straight up lie. They told me "Go look somewhere else to get your leak addressed". So now I am out 900 and still have a leak in my crawl space under my tub and a company that does not want to fix the issue I called about. This all took place over two weeks and has been extremely frustrating. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR ISSUES RESOLVED! read more

I called Roto Rooter because my usual plumber wasn't available for emergency weekend service. I pointed out the leaking fitting and the repair was minor. The charge for the work was astronomical. I will not be using Roto Rooter for any plumbing problems in the future. read more

They overcharge you. Charged nearly 200 and could not find the leak. Then tried to get my insurance info to file a remediation claim before I could even go and access the damage. Would not honor coupon. read more

To upcoming prospective customers.... I recently had a water leak in my kitchen. I called Rotor Rooter and within an hour and a half the water was turned off and I was told the insurance will cover the costs and the technician confirmed coverage via my insurance, I was later billed with $5,669.47 after Roto-Rooter determined it was a one time leak. I have now received a letter from Roto-Rooter "Notice to Owner" with threat to have a lean on my home with immediate payment. I have reached out to both the contractor Manny and Russ business with no options for repair, lack of communication with my insurance company, and no support to rectify and provide even minimal compensation. I will never contact Roto-Rooter ever again. 0% customer service. read more

Don't use this company. Gave me a price of $550 to snake my drain. I refused. He called his boss. They dropped it to $250 after more refusals from me. I should have kept going maybe I could have got it down further. i bet they rip people off everyday who dont know what prices are reasonable. The technician dis his job. I dont blame him. read more

Had a clogged main drain, got them out to snake it all going well till the snake broke through the toilet and bounced off all the walls, he replaced the toilet and asked if I had any bleach proceeds to wipe the walls down missing spots and leaves me with bleach soaking into walls and matter still on floor boards. Fast forward I'm in the same situation but the toilet they installed has now leaked into my house damaging the hard wood floor. Called to see what roto would do about it and since I'm past my warranty they refuse to do anything to help. Will NEVER use again even if they monopolies the plumbing industry. The saga continues, a roto rep Pat Swanson had commented on Google​ to ask for me to email them to follow up. Strange how that is missing now because they never followed up. Now I've had another company out here to fix my issue and they proceed to tell me that my back fill valve is broken and needs to be fixed. When roto came out it was working because my yard was filled and not my house. Now the valve is broken and the matter has found it`s way In my house. Would you trust a company that has people working for them that don't even know how to do thier job, from plumbing down to customer service. So the mitigation group I give 5 stars. Doc and his crew have been amazing. The plumbing side not so much. Yesterday they had a window of 1-3. I took all day off and called first thing letting them know I was available in the morning too. At 2:45 I get a call that they are super busy and running late I'm next. At 3:30 I call them... same story. At 4:00. I call them ... same story I tell them I have to be gone at 4:45 for a 5:00 appointment. At 4:45 they call and say they are on their way. I tell them off at this point. At 5:15 I call and talk to a manager and she apologizes and sets up a 8-9 window today ( it's 9:13 and they aren't here) she gives me a 50$ credit At my appointment I looked for other services and see Roter rooter has a 60$ credit. I call back. They promise a guy will be here at 8-9 ( it's 9:15 not here). (9:18 here). Well he quotes me 500 more than my high quote. Let's see what he comes back at cause I'm not happy. They get you for your desperation that's sad... my floor is ripped up, the water heater that's 19 years old is leaking and at any moment can crumble, I've lost pay and possibly a job taking time off. I'll keep you posted... I raised my rating from 2 to 3 They quoted higher by 500. I told him my budget and was able to move it down. It's getting done today. So that is good! Well update: he got here at 9:15. Left for an hour and is still here at 3:23. I was told from two other companies it would take 3 hours. Going on 5. ‍. I'll update when he leaves. read more

Never call them. I will never call them again. They overcharge you. I guess because they are on the stock market and have to make as much as possible. had a toilet clogged up (said it would be $250) . He finally got the job done but with a great amount of unnecessary work and time. The guy didn't even have a decent auger. He had a drum auger and couldn't clear the clog with it. I looked and his auger didn't have a corkscrew or sharp end, it looked like it was broken off. He messed up my bathroom with nasty water all over the walls and floor. Then he took the toilet off (for an extra $175 dollars) and found the clog inside the toilet. Roto rooter doesn't even have decent enough tools to clear drains without taking your toilet off so they can charge you more, what a scam. Should have cost only $100 for clearing a toilet. read more

Called around 5pm due to sudden problems with our kitchen plumbing, was given a 5:30-7:30 window, it's now after 9pm and no one ever showed up, no one called to tell me they'd be delayed. I called twice and they were not able to give me any sort of estimate about when a person could come out, so I canceled the job. Super frustrating that I could have called another 24 hour plumber hours ago if they had been upfront about their unreliable timeline. read more

I couldn't be more disappointed and dissatisfied with Roto-Rooter. I had a 2:00 to 4:00 appointment scheduled. At 4 they called that they were running late, at 5 same thing at 6 same thing at 6:30 the technician was on his way, at 7:00 they technician was having problems finding the house, and then he was unreachable. Because I needed my water heater and they were the only ones that would come out on Saturday, I rescheduled with them again. This time they missed the 2 hr window by 30 minutes and gave me a $500 estimate for parts and labor. I wasn't ready to spend that without a second opinion so I told to call the gas company. They came out, looked around and noticed some condensation on the view window. He tried to light it for about 5 min and it lite and has stayed working since. Total price $0 . read more

Called on weekend. Had sewage backing up in the drains in house. Called Greensboro city, came out dug up yard and said that needed to put in another clean out,but there were some roots that needed to be addressed outside there area. Called Roto rooter, technician called back and quoted 700 dollars sight unseen. Said many would quote less, but would be at least 500 after all was said and done.We couldn't afford that. I have had mixed experiences with Roto Rooters. The customer service has always been wonderful - friendly technicians and office employees. Their rate at contacting my insurance has been super slow, and is holding me back from getting new floors after a leak and restoration fix. When performing the restoration, they damaged some of the molding and didnt tell me. I appreciate their 24/7 service, but am weary to call them again for future issues. read more

This was some of the best services I have ever received. I had a water leak in the ceiling and was in a panic on a Sunday and Roto Rooter sent the project manager Devon out ASAP to assist me. They located the source of the leak which was from the HVAC. Then identified all the parts of the ceiling and wall that were damp using an infrared technology. Then he immediately started placing drying fans and dehumdifiers. They advised me to contact HVAC repair technician. I was surprised at how honest they were and still assisted me with my water damage even though it wasnt plumbing. They left the fans so that the structure could continue to dry and they basically did all of this as a courtesy. Its very rare to find a company that is so honest and so truly focused on satisfaction. The showed me that as a company the valued my property as much as I do. read more

Our plumber, John, was super friendly, fast, and helpful. He went above and beyond with information and made us feel confident about our decision. The downside is with the obscene expense from the Water Restoration department. $900 to have two fans and a dehumidifier running in our kitchen for three days. It was about 45 minutes worth of work from a separate crew to inspect and install. How can Roto Rooter justify such a crazy charge!? read more

Be very careful of this company or be ready to pay a high price. They did come quick, promised to work with my insurance and ensure me that it will be covered under a regular policy (which it was not), and than left me with an almost $10,000 bill for toilet over flow clean up. About $5000 was for the clean up (that even the insurance adjuster estimated for less than a half that cost) the other part was for repairing a pipe witch included more than $3000 in labor for a work that took several hours . Not only this, the plumber for the repair told me they will come in the evening (this was not an emergency repair). they showed up at 11:30 pm and wanted to dig with a jack hammer in a condo subdivision, my tenet asked them to come the next day, so they wanted to charge me additional money for one more day of equipment rental. read more

I had a water leak in my upstairs master bath that drenched the sheetrock our garage. My Roto-rooter tech Don and Dominic provided excellent service! They located the source of the leak and cleaned up all the sheetrock and insulation. I had to get a Roto-rooter plumber, Matt, out to fix the drainage issue and it took about 30 min to resolve. The dehumidifying is still underway, but these guys are amazing and I would highly recommend!! read more

We had some gurgling in the kitchen sink when showing. He decribed it as if there might be all sorts of complications. Said it would cost nearly $500. We said to go ahead because we didn't want to have sewer trouble in the house. Then it took him 5 mins with a tool and it unclogged. He then had a guy with a camara come by (we didn't need him, but its was what was done, and he looked in with his camera and saw... nothing... because the pipes were already working again. So all in all a 5 min job. and he charged nearly $500. Crazy. Said it was fixed rate. What's that? $6000 an hour. Total rip off. read more

Called and was pleasantly surprised they had someone to come before 5 on a Friday. John our tech was awesome and helpful. Took off his shoes before he came in. Unclogged toilet and gave us a coupon to help with cost. We were very pleased! Will call again if needed!! read more

They arrive within the window of time they say they will (which is fairly promptly), they are professional, and they leave the place looking better than before they came! Crooks. If your a homeowner or insurance company I would get a second opinion. Sent a leak tech out to my rental and proceeded to tell me I needed to contact my insurance company because I had a major leak. Told me my crawl space had standing water, the meter was still running rapidly even though the water was cut off, and I had water in the floors. Said they needed to rip walls and floors to find leak. My husband went over (he does heating and air and plumbing (if he has too) and said there was no water in crawl space, took a video of the water meter which didn't move at all, and checked every tap, faucet, toilet, tub, floors and no water. They almost cost me thousands!! I guess they expected I would just call my insurance and have them pay for it! This should be illegal! I wonder how many insurance companies they have scammed!! read more

This started in march my son made the mistake of calling these guys to fix a toilet after a 500 dollar charge the toilet was replaced wrong it was leaking well they came back after several calls they Finally got it replaced properly always very nice but you could see and feel it was only because they had my 500 already but that did not stop the smart comment When I was asked to sign the invoice the guy made a crack about it being a free trip I responded I just payed 500 for an 90 mins or less work plus there was an horrible smell after they left repeatedly called and tried to post to their Facebook page but you cannot post comments in the public section it's blocked you can only do the private messages The bottom line they broke the pipe I just payed to flush out all the waters and water from my house they are crooks look else where for an honest plumber let's me tell you I called I was promised a call back 4 separate times never got a call the charges are out rages I do not mind paying for quality work paying not the problem it bad service poor feed back after anyone pays you what you charge you are due some respect read more

I had a water main break that required extensive digging which also included installing a cleanout. After several hours of determining the source of the blockage, Roto-Rooter sent the most qualified technician - Matt G (tech #4519)! He was professional and courteous. I told him I really needed to have the cleanout completed today. He said he would do all that he could to make sure the project was completed. He did! He also worked very hard to ensure the cleanout was installed in the right place. The roots were removed and the broken pipe was replaced. The plumber was so arrogant and so busy trying to sell me add on services, it took almost an hour before he actually even started the job. There was another guy with him doing a 'complimentary' imaging of my pipes - which, of course, they did not show to me - to encourage the digging up of my yard to replace pipes. I was very suspicious of this since the first thing they said when I opened the door was "Are you ready to replace some pipes today" with a big ole smirk. Answer: Not ever! We had an issue where our tub and shower diverter was broken and the hot water would not turn off. It wasn't just leaking a bit, it was gushing water and the hot water diverter was broken so the only way to stop the flow was to shut off the main water to the house. The next morning, John and his assistant came out to assess the situation. They were very professional and friendly and took the time to explain both what they thought the issue might be and then confirm after their inspection. They had to leave to go buy parts but were very quick about it and came right back to fix the diverter. They even caulked the three diverter faucets so that other issues wouldn't occur, which wasn't even the issue I called them about. I really appreciated their communication and the quality of their repair, would definitely use Roto-Rooter again! read more

Highly recommend him and the company overall, who kept me updated on status of repair when a rescheduling was needed due to bad winter weather. I called Roto Rooter after coming home from work to a dish disposal that was clogged. They told me someone would be out to my house between 5-8 and someone finally arrived at 9:20. I paid $179 for the man to spend literally 1-2 minutes fixing the blade. I would have saved so much money and time waiting for the guy if I had just looked it up on YouTube. The only good thing about this experience was the guy was nice. He however didn't apologize for getting there so late and did he did not offer me any coupons for the over pricing. My metal pipes corroded under my kitchen sink and left me in a bit of a bind as I had tried getting help/advice from the local hardware store that just left me with a bunch of plastic tubes since my tinker toy skills didn't translate to fixing a sink. So I caved and called a professional. My appointment time was between 9-11 am and Scott (2062) showed up at ~920 which was great. My dog likes to be passive aggressive and growl lowly from behind me, but Scott took this in stride and didn't mind at all. While he was fixing the piping, he was receptive toward my questions and was patient during throughout my "interrogation." He was finished in just about a half an hour and even used some of the parts i had bought from the hardware store so he didn't have to charge this extra couple bucks. Anyway, he was nice, courteous, and helpful. So far so good, no leaking! read more
