I live in an apartment complex. I purchased my own rodent trap of outdoors. The Plunkett guy stole my trap and put theirs down. There could no confusion their traps have their name on it. They came early in moring 7am we didnt here the door bell so they canceled our service and said if want more service we need to pay $300 more to restart the service. I called Plunkett's in regard to a mouse issue in my home. They came to my home and sealed holes on the exterior of the house, and did not recommend setting their own traps in the home since I had my own already. The mouse issue has not gotten better, and the mice are still entering my home some how. When calling the company back within 60 days of my first visit, they claimed they cannot assist me without charging another $200. I am simply disappointed with the level of service, and overall quality they took to remediate my problem. I now need to inquire with another company that can do a better job identifying how these rodents are entering my home better than I can. read more

I am a small-time landlord and I hired Eric Benedict (through Plunkett's obviously) on three different occasions. My rental properties are all older homes so they tend to occasionally get mice or roach infestations. Eric was very professional and took care of business every time, including repeat visits where necessary. He is very knowledgeable and reliable as far as coming when he said he would and following up with either myself or tenants. I don't know about Plunkett's in general but would highly recommend Eric. read more

I live in a deeply wooded area in Prior Lake. I have had problems with forest mice invading my house for over ten years. In the past, I've had local pest control services out to my house a couple of times. In both instances, they've laid some traps and said that should do it. It never did, and they were not cheap. Then I called Plunkett's. Chad came out and spent two hours going through the interior areas of our house, then went outside and inspected every inch of the exterior of the house. He found several areas in which there was clear evidence of the mice getting into the walls. He sealed all the holes he could find, then set traps in key areas around the house. Then he did two things that blew my mind - 1. He said if any of the traps are triggered, to call him and he would dispose of the trap. Not only do I not have to perform the duty, he wanted to keep records of where the traps were effective. 2. He then proceeded to get into my kitchen cabinets and CLEAN THEM of all traces of mouse poop! Chad is coming back next week to do some more work to the house at no additional charge. I was absolutely blown away by the amazing service and professionalism. Plunkett's has a new customer for life. read more

I own one rental property in the west metro and I recently had a new tenant take occupancy. Shortly after moving in my tenant began to complain of red itchy bumps on her legs. She immediately assumed that fleas were to blame. Upon hearing this I was skeptically concerned. Prior to move in, myself and an army of my friends and family were in the property for several days sprucing it up (painting, cleaning, etc.) and no one encountered pests of any kind. Now, that does not mean my tenant was not experiencing something. I don't want any type of pests in my property, so I immediately contacted Plunkett's. Kathy, the Plunkett's customer service rep, was extremely helpful. Upon hearing my story about the possible flea issue, she too was skeptical. I am in no way an expert on bugs of any kind, so she thoroughly explained the details of flea infestations and none of the issues my tenant was experiencing seemed to add up. Kathy even contacted my tenant directly, explained the same details, and told her some steps to take to make sure the issue was indeed flea related. Heading Kathy's advice, my tenant laid out water, white towels and wore white socks for 12 hours around the property. Low and behold, NO FLEAS! This prevented a technician from coming out to the property, which ultimately saved me time and money. Hats off to Kathy at Plunkett's for a job very well done! Obviously this review is only for the customer service I experienced with Plunkett's and not their actual pest control services. But if Plunkett's pest control service is as good as their customer service, and I can only assume it is, then they definitely have a customer for life! read more

I'm not going to be recommending this company to anyone. Our tech , among many things, pointed out doing his first visit, that we have gaps in our siding which were allowing mice to get in our house. He promised that he be back at his next visit to plug them, then blatantly denied that he had agreed to that. Plunketts has a 60 day guarantee on mice, that none will be seen in the house alive after the first treatment . I spotted a live mouse in the house a week and a half after our exterminator was out for treatment. I called him and mentioned the 60 day guarantee, he came out to do a check and charged it as though it were a regular visit ( we bought a three visit deal which costed several hundred dollars). Two weeks ago he called me for his "final" visit, stating that he wanted me to leave work early because he couldn't make it at 4:30 when I got home. I thought these guys worked til 5. It doesn't take long to check in and re-bait traps, (based on his second visit, as he was in and out the door in five minutes). If This is the standard, I fail to see the trouble in being done by 5 o'clock. He told me that he has grandkids in sports after school and things. I can understand that, as I have a child as well. However, if someone is representing an employer and they are still on the clock, then it is absolutely inexcusable to assume that they wouldn't be required to do their work up until the moment they are off the clock. The exterminator contacted me today and told me he wouldn't be showing up at all. He encouraged me to call him back to reschedule. At this point, I'm going to be calling Plunketts directly to complain. If I don't get some sort of a refund or compensation for the horrible job that this person has been doing, then I'm taking this all the way to the Attorney General. I'm so sick of this. read more

I've had Plunketts for 5 years now and we used to have a wonderful tech who would get back to me and come out quickly. She moved to another area and now we have a tech who doesn't communicate and no shows. We recently had an ant problem and he was supposed to come out. Never called until I called Plunketts and was informed " he was in a meeting" and couldn't cone out. He then reschuled for the following day without telling me an approximate time so I had to call back again. I even contacted the supervisor and nothing. We pay up front to get a discount but not worth it any longer. Taking my business elsewhere. BYE! read more

We have used pocketsp plunketts for mouse control. They've been good about suggesting solutions. We had a fabulous technician. Unfortunately he no longer works for Plunkett's. The new guy seems good too. They come regularly but will also come if we hear a problem. The bait to use kills them nice and slowly disintegrates them. I've never found a dead mouse nor have they smelled one!Last year we had a problem with squirrels. They did some wildlife trapping. That didn't go so great. It was also pretty costly. That said we've been We've been pleased with them. Now looking into some bug control. I trust that should go well. read more

We had a flying ant infestation at our log home. After much research we decided on Kline Pest Control because of the thoroughness of the proposed treatment plan and the competence of the technician. Alas after only two treatments, the owner of Kline's retired and sold his business to Plunkett's. Klines spent alot of time inspecting and treating our home, garage, gazebo and hot tub but this new company spent under 15 minutes and treated only the house with 2 ounces of Delta dust. Cost to us $162.48. Seemed like an exhorbitant amount so we called the company. We found out that the Kline technicians declined to work for Plunkett (not a good sign). There was no satisfactory response to our phone inquiry about the high cost for the work involved. She did have the Plunkett technician call us who sadly was clueless about the specifics of our home treatment. There is not alot of info about Plunkett apart from their website. I have far more questions than answers and probably will rethink what we choose to do in the future. $162.48 seems to be alot of money for under 15 minutes and 2 ounces of dust that can be bought at Home Depot. And that is if I believe the times that were submitted on our invoice. We weren't there. Thus far I AM NOT IMPRESSED and at a minimum will begin to research my options. read more

We have used Plunkett's for a few years to help keep rodents, ants, beetles and other pests controlled. Our experience has always been amazing. We were working with a guy in northern WI (Tony), who gave great advice and very timely service. He was always there to answer our questions, stop out at the place and deal with an issue we were having. Tony's territory was split up and we were shifted to a gentleman by the name of Nate B. Nate called me to introduce himself, discuss what challenges we have historically seen. He went out to our place in dead of winter to check up on the place and give it a good look around. We were not home, but we do have a camera system...what blew me away is he went up on our deck, grabbed the shovel and cleared the snow off our walkway before leaving. Amazing service. read more

They will automatically tell you it's a bad year for rodents... well why the hell not? I hate mice so sucker is written across my forehead! I'm just going to give you $1800 a year for NADA!! Last experience, my representative knocked on my door, I was on a conference call so I didn't hear him. I head out to my car, and see him. I rolled down my window and said I had an appointment I had to get to... could you come back?? He said, "sure" I never heard from them except for my bill of $150 bucks!! I moved to the Twin Cities 2 years ago. I had lived in the Chicago area for 38 years. In Chicago, I learned which were the best sources for services by trial and error. So I am going through the same experience in the Twin Cities. Some are great and others have been poor. Plunkett's has been great and I gladly recommend them. They are reasonably priced and operate with a high sense of integrity. In the past 12 months I needed them to remove a chipmunk from my basement, a squirrel from my attic, and yellow jackets from under my roof. This week they dealt with chipmunks burrowing in my backyard. Each time they were prompt and effective -- and as I mentioned, reasonably priced. Dawn an employee there spoke very condescendingly and said "I'm sorry you don't understand the contract YOU SIGNED" then threatened to put the bill in collections, which it already was. Do NOT use Plunketts Pest Control, especially the team lead by Bob!!!!! :-( I live in a Condo Downtown and they were called to take care of a pest problem: I am Visually Impaired and was NEVER given ANY information about what I had to do to prepare my place for treatment in large print BEFORE they came out and, when I finally GOT the information in large print, they had already come and provided 'service'. :-( I had also lost my husband and was trying to plan his funeral, so I think a little compassion is in order! :-( I spent a little over $200.00 dollars to get my furniture pulled away from the walls and my pictures and art taken off my walls ahead of their visit. Now I am being charged a $432.00 fee for having to reschedule their visit?! I was NEVER told by Bob or... from Plunketts BEFORE they came out that I would have to pay ANY fee if they had to reschedule their visit!!!!! :-( Further, though I had supposedly paid someone to 'prepare' my house for their visit, they completely left my Condo UNFUNCTIONAL as they had moved all of my shelving Units IN FRONT of my outlets such that I could NOT see AT ALL in my house the night I came home as I could NOT GET TO the wall outlets to replug everything. Further, they had left my window blinds OPEN/UP with the cords to close them tangled in the slats and, as I am only five feet tall, I could NOT close my shades and nearly had a heart attack when I realized they were OPEN and the whole world could see into my Condo, especially as I had changed clothes when I got home! :-( I feel VIOLATED!!!!! As I am Visually Impaired, I ALWAYS leave my blinds DOWN/CLOSED to PREVENT any problems!!!!! Moreover, Plunketts did NOT follow my request to place my Artwork and paintings in the hallway so that they would NOT get damaged and, when I came home, I dropped my backpack and nearly TRIPPED ON and BROKE several pieces of Art they had left IN MY BATHROOM?? Also, they had DISCONNECTED ALL of my electronics, my cell phone and tablet chargers, my computer, my two TV's as well as my microwave such that I had NO functioning electronics from 6:00pm until my Maintenance Engineer Nick came the next day and HELPED ME MOVE MY FURNITURE back against the wall so I could actually REACH my outlets and get my house to run again!!!!! :-( Oddly, Plunketts did leave ONE thing plugged in, my reclining sofa?? As I did NOT realize when I came home that my cell charger had been unplugged I was left WITHOUT any way to contact 911 when my blood sugar dropped and, when I was finally able to get help through a neighbor, Plunketts had left my house in such disrepair that the paramedics could NOT get to me!!!!! It is wholly IRRESPONSIBLE of them to leave ANYONE'S house in this state and it was/STILL IS a NIGHTMARE as I have been unable to find simple things that I knew EXACTLY where they were BEFORE Bob and Plunketts INVADED my house!!!!! It has been VERY disorienting and completely DISRESPECTFUL and I would NOT recommend them to ANY person or family Member!!!!! Finally, they RUINED the plastic chair mat that I had so that I could sit COMFORTABLY at my computer: They have NOT contacted me to REPLACE it, which is VERY DIFFICULT for me as I do NOT drive and must take a bust to get to Office Depot!!!!! They are UNTHINKING ROBOTS who think their only responsibility is to treat the BUGS, but could CARE LESS about their customers!!!!!!!!!! Use TERMINIX OR... ANYONE but PLUNKETTS!!!!! I feel that it should be THEIR responsibility to ensure that THEY have discussed ALL of the procedures and what needs to be done BEFORE they come and treat your Condo/Residence as this is what RESPONSIBLE businesses DO!!!!! :-( Finally, like when you go to the Doctor and must sign papers that say that you have been GIVEN your HIPPA information and treatment options, I ask that Plunketts create a form that must be signed BEFORE service is provided that the customer UNDERSTANDS EXACTLY WHAT THE COST(S) wil be, WHAT, if any, service charges may be incurred as a result of rescheduling the treatment, WHAT will be done in case of DAMAGE to replace or repair what is ruined or broken and WHO should be contacted if there IS a problem!!!!! Plunketts has done a SHITTY job of ALL of the above!!!!! I think they should be REQUIRED to ASK customers if they need this information in a different format at the time the customer CALLS IN to get information as, if Plunketts can provide me with their information AFTER the fact, they should be MANDATED to do this BEFORE services are EVER provided; I do NOT feel that I should have to pay extra money for THEIR SHODDY handling of this situation as I had NO WAY of knowing all of this until AFTER they came?!?! :-( Use Plunketts at your own risk!!!!! They tore my apartment apart. Broke multiple items. Left there dirty gloves on my 50" tv. Balls of tape and dirty gloves all over the apartment. Left all lights on. Packed all my dresser clothes on my bed. I wonder why I found a pair of my underwear on my couch in the living room. It would have been less work and less damage if a tornado came through. Very unprofessional. I'm still fuming and this was yesterday. I worked all day and only have the living room cleaned up after them. Another 3 days and I may be finished. I had a bed bug infestation in my home from my next door neighbor in my apartment complex. These guys came out with the maintenance man for my apartment complex and did an evaluation of my apartment and found bed bugs in my son's room only. Since my son's room is the closest room to my neighbor who had the infestation of bed bugs for over a month my son's room is where the bed bugs came from the neighbor apartment. Wendy's I came out to my home yesterday they were uninformative and it literally kept trying to shove me out my door so they could get started I understand that they wanted to get this done I respect that however the way they were rude trying to shove me out my door was terrible they had a lack of consideration for any of my personal belongings and several of my things are now destroyed because of the throwing around of my personal belongings and the lack of respect for anything that belongs to me. I would not recommend these guys to anybody especially someone who lives in an apartment. read more

Do NOT use Plunkett's for mouse problems. We literally caught a mouse in our own traps a day after the Tech had cleared out his traps. Because we were technically beyond the 60-day guarantee, they would not come back unless we paid more $$. And, they were not cheap. So disappointed, will never use again, will not refer. Now I've been doing more research and it looks like Midwest Pest guarantees for at least 6 months and Adam's pest advertises 100% satisfaction guarantee. read more

In September I experienced some strange bites on my arm and made an appointment with Plunkett's for an inspection. This cost just over $100 and took place within a couple of days of my initial call. The inspector went through my bedroom as well as my roommate's and found nothing. He suggested that our dog had fleas (although the dog was not scratching himself or demonstrating any other signs of experiencing discomfort). The marks continued to show up on my arms, legs, torso, neck and face. Having received the all clear from Plunkett's, I sought advice from a series of doctors-- first my general practitioner, then a dermatologist, then an allergen. The diagnosis was uticaria-- or chronic hives. Despite a battery of tests and treatments, both chemical and herbal, the marks continued to appear and caused me intense discomfort. In early November I left the teaching position I had held for the past two years. It was a hard decision to make, but ultimately it appeared that the hives were the result of my body responding to stress. I took the leap to preserve my health. One week later, I discovered a bedbug on my pillow. This led me to remove from of the upholstery from my headboard, where I discovered an infestation of bedbugs. Did the original inspector intentionally pass over the infested area, knowing that we would be in need of treatment further down the road? Or is he simply incompetent at his job? Plunkett's will not reimburse me for that initial inspection. The level of inconvenience that this infestation has brought to my life is nightmarish to say the least. I am out of a job. My body is covered in scars. I spent hundreds of dollars in unnecessary medical bills. My home, my place of refuge, was in fact the source of my torment. Plunkett's didn't do their job the first time. Please share this information widely. read more

Overall have a bad impression from my experience with them. Back in August, I stayed in a hotel that had bedbugs, ever since I have been very paranoid/fearful of if they may have traveled home with me. When I found a dark bug on my bed, I immediately freaked out-I killed it with a piece of tape to attempt to preserve it (this was on Saturday). I sent a message to Plunkett's and they called me Monday morning, which I appreciated the promptness. They said the first step would be to get one of their guys there to investigate and confirm if it was a bedbug. From there, they suggested that if it was one, they would advise the K9 inspection to determine how much of the house was affected and therefore needed to be inspected. One of my points of contention is that the said the K9 could take a couple weeks to schedule, therefore we decided to have the manual check first ($100) before having the K9 came. The manual check came on Tuesday (once again happy with promptness), he looked throughout my room and did not fine any signs of bedbugs other than what I had on the tape. He glanced at the tape quickly (no magnifying or anything despite it being slightly squished) and immediately said 'yes, that is a bed bug, a second stage nymph'. I had caught some tiny almost microscopic bugs on glue traps, which he said were 'too small to tell' if they were first stage nymphs, once again did not use any magnification. All in all, his visit was about 10 minutes, immediately said 'yes it's a bedbug, you need to treat and get the K9 team over', and cost $100. I called to schedule canine. Although I was happy that they were able to schedule next day (Wednesday), I was a bit irked that they were available so soon and I could have had the option of immediately doing K9 rather than adding on the $100 manual visit if I had known they could come so soon. Important note: I am very happy with the investigation done by Brent and Loki, the canine. When Brent arrived, he immediately asked to see the bug I had caught. First, he pulled out a magnifying device to look at the tiny bugs on the glue traps and immediately was able to identify them as something other than bedbugs. Next he looked at the taped bug. He was slightly hesitant since it was a bit squished and there was some lint but was able to quickly say that he was 95% certain it was not a bed bug. Since he was already there (and there is a trip charge to have him and Loki come from the cities), I had him go through with the K9 inspection. There were no signs of bedbugs found in my house. He also brought the tape bug back to the office to look at under a microscope, where as it was identified as not a bedbug. I am extremely upset that the first "professional" incorrectly identified the bug, especially since he did not seem to use due diligence to really look at it. I also feel that since he knew I was interested in the K9 inspection *if* he found bedbugs, he was more prone to not truly look and instead collected his $100 and sent me on my way to spend an additional, unnecessary, $500 for the K9 inspection. If he had correctly identified the bug, or at least put forth a half decent effort, I would not have had to pay that additional $500 for the more thorough investigation. I feel that this company leads its customers on in order to reap the most profit possible. I called them a few days after the investigations to express my concern about how my case was handled (had to wait a few days due to holiday). The lady seemed empathetic and said a manager would be in contact with me. It has been almost 2 weeks and I have not heard a reply back. read more

Jim from Plunkett's Pest Control in the Brainerd Lakes area came out to check a noise in our attic. He quickly diagnosed the problem (bat). Although he could not remove the bat because the State of MN protects them (what!), he suggested a solution and, get this, did not charge for his expert advice. We started to see small red bumps on our skin back in Jan. We called Plunketts to come and check for what could be causing it, fearing it was bedbugs. They came out, charged us 100 dollars, and said it was not bedbugs, but it might be spiders or other pests, without giving much guidance on how to get it taken care of. Its nearly 4 months later, we've been in quarantine for nearly 2 of those months since we have respiratory issues in the family, and we're still getting bit. We have to conclude they were wrong, and it was bedbugs --they will not credit the initial visit , even though we could have taken care of this for a lot less hassle at that point rather then now. They want us to give them another 200 dollars to re-check for bedbugs--but even stated upfront that even if they find evidence of them they will not treat it unless they see an actual bug. We used them for various things in the past, notably a squirrel problem and more recently a mouse problem--but we will be looking elsewhere for services from now on. read more

The tech who came out to our house was great even though we paid 300 bucks for a "guaranteed visit." he said he call back and check in in a few weeks and never did. When I called back when we had another huge influx of mice problems te woman who I spoke to was a total bitch and blamed me for the mice and not calling sooner before the guarantee was up. Long story short they never got rid of the mice, just lower the incidence and literally as soon as te guarantee was up we had a house full of mice again. Feels like a scam to me. They arrived a day earlier than scheduled (after calling to make sure it was ok) promptly and professionally took care of a structural yellow jacket next and went on to take care of some paper wasps without being asked. The price quoted on the phone while scheduling was the price paid. No up selling or up charges during the process at all. Beware of up charges - I contacted them to come out for mice and ants, not a major infestation, but one I should have taken care of myself with six traps and a can of Raid..They quoted me $289 on the phone, the tech said it was $339, but the charge was $450! I thought it was a typo, so I called customer service only to have a supervisor call me back and squabble with me because of the size of my home (evidently if you have a nice house you pay more.) My review is mixed because my issue is with their customer service. The first experience I had was great. Scott explained everything to me, told me what my next prices would be & everything. He was very thorough. The bugs that I have been seeing 6 months later are mostly dead when I see them, but since it's spring i wanted to get a head start. I called to make an appointment & was told a different & higher price, which would have been the same as the initial price-but Scott the technician told me it would be about half. I spoke with the manger Sue & she had Scott call me. He scheduled last Friday to come out & try to fit me in & said he would call if he had to reschedule. Bad business practices...avoid! We had mice issue and signed up for one year services agreement where they visit your home regularly. They did not provide the on-going services and when we asked them to make good and stop in and check at the end of the agreement period they automatically signed us up for another year. We were told by our rep that there would be no charge for the last visit and we kept getting the bills and were ultimately told by their customer service that they sent us to collections!
