Plushblow is by far my favorite local spot for a blowout for any occasion: whether it's for a birthday party, wedding, shower, or a night-out, this is my go-to place. Both the Scarsdale and Rye location are great! They're always friendly, prompt, and are very accommodating based on how you'd like to style your hair. Gabby & Kate in Rye is absolutely wonderful and always does a spectacular job with my hair - this really goes for all of their stylists. Well worth the price! Maybe it's because I've lived in Manhattan for the past decade, but the blow dry bars in Westchester are terrible. I've tried BLVD and Plushblow - both in Scarsdale. My hair has come out flat on the top, and with curls at the bottom, after my request each time is for volume (super easy for my hair) and waves from top to middle with straight ends. I've had to create an updo myself one time and another re wash to get any life back into it. Team is quick and friendly but if you can handle a blow dryer at home, save your $$. Unfortunately my experience here was not good my 3rd time here. I feel bad for the owner. Most of the time the girls were speaking very badly about her, saying she was disorganized and couldn't count hours? One girl said she was writing down her hours to be tracked and the others laughed and said it didn't matter. ANYWAY customers don't care about ur work drama I just want my hair blown out keep ur chit chat for ur coffee talks when customers aren't here. This review is for my wife because she doesn't have a Yelp account so here goes: They Never wash your hair fully. Never wet it to the scalp and really give it a nice wash so your hair is ever nice and clean. And I agree with another reviewer that your hair is damp when you leave. Another bothersome thing is that it is impossible to tip on a credit card so I had to ruin my hair in the snow by walking to the bank in the snow to tip the stylist. THANKS! read more

I've been here a few times & each time I've gone I walk out disappointed. For a blowout only salon the stylists should be doing an amazing blowout....they are not. One time my hair was not even fully dry and today the stylist seemed like she did not know how to blow dry or style bangs. She was going to leave them frizzy and sticking up until I told she needed to blow them forward. The receptionist did not have change therefore this left me giving the stylist $10 which was not deserved. The owners should work on training rather than opening more salons. This place is a gem! The blowouts are affordable, the stylist are professional and they're always running on time.I've tried other blow-dry bars but they were either too pricey or extremely packed inside due to tardiness. Its amazing that they can give me the exact look I ask for with just a blowdryer! My hair is very straight and can hardly keep a curl, let alone a wave but plush nails it on the head every time. This location in scarsdale was a terrible experience. I normally go to the rye location but thought I would give this one a try since it was closer. Unfortunately, The girl didn't even know how to blow out hair she just took large chunks and dried the ends pushing and pulling at my hair like I was a bobble head. At the end she literally yanked out the brushes leaving my hair rough slightly curled at the bottom and full of static. She left my bangs flat along with the rest of my hair. So much for a voluminous va va Voom! My hair looked wet and gross! I came home washed my hair and blew it out myself!! I will never ever go back to this location. For a blow dry only salon they really have inexperienced and unprofessional workers. I suggest going to the rye location for a better blow out and experience this place is not worth a penny! read more

It's strange how all the reviews for this spot are either five star or one star. I found it to be a solid three star. I just moved to Scarsdale and this place is in walking distance from my apartment so I figured I'd give the $30 on Tuesday a shot. It was easy to book and when I arrived everyone was hanging out but they were friendly. I was taken immediately ahead of my appointment time. I had no issues with the shampoo or blow dry. It wasn't spectacular and she didn't really ask me many questions. She just did a basic blow dry. My hair looked good, but it didn't look drybar good. For the price they charge, I don't think it is worth it. For $5 dollars more, you can get a custom experience at Drybar with quality customer service and the use of hot tools. Customer service is pretty absent here and they don't seem to really care about the quality of your experience. It's also really annoying that you can't tip on the card and they don't tell you that upfront. I might come back on a Tuesday for a basic blowout, but I find you get more bang for your buck at drybar. read more

Do not waste your time. We went here as a bridal party of 10 people and noone left liking the outcome. We all got our hair redone by the brides stylist once we got back to the hotel. None of them knew what they were doing and it was bit worth the time or money. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I went with my daughter I'm 54 years old TODAY. And first thing I got was a painful shampoo job. I was told that my hair was dry n I should stop bleaching it. (My hair is so fucking healthy it even makes me sick!) I was sent to the dry girl with a soaking wet head. She then began to literally tear thru my hair. I could see it breaking n flying to the floor. I made her stop n began to brush it myself. This enraged Amanda the " blower " who looked like her hair hadn't seen a brush in a week. She told me she had no time for this. Took the brush n continued to yank it thru mt hair. Hitting my face with the brush until I made her stop. I turned just a bit to get eye contact with m daughter n she used her index finger to shove my face forward telling me to face forward! I decided to just stay calm and never come back. Unfortunately my daughter did see the tail end if this abuse and to add insult to injury Amanda and a coworker began to silently laugh at me over my head. She right away walked outside called the main office and told them what was going on. They offered her free blows but she explained that we would never return and so the free blows would be wasted. She informed them that she paid for the shoddy service but they wouldn't be seeing us again. The promised to have the owner call us back. Still waiting..... This place isn't going to make it in Scarsdale. read more

She didn't put any product in my hair, did nothing to make it look fuller at all which is what I had asked for. I had done an oil deep conditioning treatment at home before going there and they very politely and generously had to wash my hair several times to get rid of the oily residue. I really wanted to love this place. I do not have trouble with my hair but this was something I was going to do for fun as I had an event. I have had my hair blown out plenty in the past and I have my hair cut and colored in the city. I started with shiny hair.....I have long thick hair to the middle of my back. I left with dried out ends and frizz....I tried to have the woman fix it but she was not capable. I went home after spending $50 including tip (bc I felt awful that she spent so much time and was not capable when it takes me 15 minutes to dry my hair well) to have to spend another hour putting leave in conditioner in my hair and fixing it. I have never had a bad blowout until I went here. She put such extreme heat on my hair she damaged it and I now need a haircut for the dead ends I now have. read more

You just have to be clear about what you want. Of course, it also depends on what type of hair you have-- curly won't stay straight in humidity. I have never been to a dry bar before and this place was my first. I have to say they accommodated me with a last minute appointment and I greatly appreciated it. As I walked in all the girls were sitting around chatting , not working and even one was curling her own hair. No one acknowledged me. Once I walked up to the desk and told them I had an appointment they brought me back to get washed. The woman who washed my hair was extremely aggressive and I ended up soaking wet. I then sat in Gina's chair to get styled. She was so unfriendly , did not even crack a smile once. Unfortunately , she did not provide a good service. When she was done doing my hair,she left me in the chair and went to sit in the corner. I have to say this will probably be the last time I go to this site. I usually have a good experience here but today was not so good of an experience. I came in today on Valentine's Day to do my hair since I just had surgery and the receptionist/girl at the front desk was so rude. She mentioned that if I was 15 min late that I would be turned away, luckily I made it just in time but once I arrived I asked my stylist if she had someone scheduled after me and she said she was free after me for the day. -_- So what was all the rudeness for from the receptionist? Customer service should always be key. You never turn away a paying customer, it's simply unheard of. I will continue giving my business to DryBar instead. They are always accommodating and always provide great customer service. They also provide quality hair products and inform you of any deals that they have unlike plush blow. I just found out I could have had a travel size product of I left a review but I guess they figured I would be giving a bad one.
