Pluto's has always been my go to place for lunch. Love their salads and Greek chicken over rice. A little pricey but I loved their food. Last week Friday 9/10/2021 I ordered through Uber Eats a chicken breast salad with extra chicken. While eating my salad I bit down on something hard so I thought it was a pieces of the grilled chicken. Wrong it was a FINGER NAIL !! I bit done on someone's fingernail. Called the restaurant and told them about it they told me the manager was out of town and that they'll contact Uber Eats I am guessing to get my money back ?? Not sure, left my name and number so the manager can call me. It's Wednesday 9/15/2021 no phone call no refund. Issued a complaint with Uber and they said they couldn't issue me a refund but that they'll contact the restaurant. Just so disappointed my daughter and I usually eat there at least once a week. What a shame! This used to be good food but it has turned awful. I've ordered numerous times since May. I noticed the quality go down over the course of the summer. Beef sometimes has flavor and was good, more often lately it tastes like nothing and actually doesn't sit right. The fries used to be good, now they are under cooked. I also question the cleanliness of this place. I called a nicely asked after ordering 24 times since May why the food has been undercooked recently. Fries were just out of the frozen stage. They used to be good. I was met with laughter, like its funny to spend 30 bucks on a beef sandwich and fries and get undercooked and bland soggy food. No thanks. Stopped at Plutos for lunch on a Sunday first time amazed how good everything was from the employees to how clean the place was. We had the gyro and a beef sandwich which was fantastic. Visited this place last night. The Hispanic cooks in the back appeared to be drunk and were making vulgar comments about their female cashier as if no customers understood Spanish.. My son needed to use the restroom and kept knocking on the bathroom door but to our surprise there was an employee in there doing God knows what because when he came out after a looong while he was stumbling. The food here is pretty good, not great, but I cannot eat here if employees are acting like they are working in the street not in a resteraunt. I thought this was a family place. Some time ago I saw another Yelper "check in" at Pluto's and added it to my bookmarks of places to visit. While I'm not often in the South Suburbs, when I was in the general area again I finally made a trip out to Pluto's to give this place a try. Upon driving up to the restaurant I immediately noticed a very distinctive space theme. When walking in you notice lots of rockets, stars and other space related objects decorating the walls. I stepped up to the counter and ordered a hot dog, fries and a drink and waited for my order to be ready. I filled up my drink in the soda fountain which I was pleased to see that they offered Pepsi products. And once my food was ready I then sat in the corner and made a quick video with some notes about the hot dog and fries and dug in. The hot dog here came on a regular non-poppy seed bun. The bun was fairly soft with no noticeable signs of dryness. The first thing I noticed was that the tomato slice on the hot dog was fairly thick. This led to a bit more tomato flavor and a slightly wetter and sloppier hot dog than you'll find most places. The application of relish was light so that flavor was under-represented here while the chopped up onions were a bit more abundant on this dog. The mustard was applied decently, there were three sport peppers on the hot dog which were not initially applied by whomever assembled it evenly on the dog. The sausage here used is skinless and was slightly longer than the bun. Celery salt was noticeable but not excessive, and the pickle slice was on the thin side. The overall combination of ingredients was a little uneven as the condiments were not well spread through the hot dog leading to bites with practically no relish in them. The fries included were thicker steak style fries. There was some type of seasoning on the fries themselves and there was not much of a grease flavor or fried flavor to them. My overall impression of these fries was that they were quite bland and that the seasoning wasn't enough to salvage them. As a result most of them wound up in the garbage where they belong. My overall impression of Pluto's was mixed. The space theme was definitely cool and I enjoyed a lot of the little quirks (restrooms labeled Mars and Venus for example) and nuances they put into decorating it. While the food at Pluto's was far from being "Out of this world" no one would imply that it tastes like something that came from Uranus. I'd say this is an average hot dog joint in the area and will award it three stars. read more

It's really hard to tell which fast food place is worth going to on the south side since there are about 3 or 4 of them on the same block all serving the same s---. Pluto's is one of the few worth visiting. Freshness and high quality ingredients are their big selling points, and I can vouch for them. They have daily specials, a vast menu, and usually about 2-3 cop cars sitting in their parking lot. On my first and most recent visit, our party of 3 ordered the following followed by a short review: Pizza Puff - Why does anyone order these abominations of pizza? My fiancee still can't explain why. But I had a bite, and it wasn't bad. Freshly fried, not too salty, not too greasy, nicely sized, you'd think Pluto's made it themselves. At Pluto's, that may very well be the case. Turkey Sub - Highly recommended by family friends, I got this sandwich, and was fairly pleased. Good quality deli meat, albeit a little skimpy on the amount of meat (think Subway portions), trimmings of your choice, and homemade dressing all on an 8" fresh white sub roll. My reaction to their homemade dressing was similar to that of Capt N Nemo's. Even though I don't exactly know what the dressing is made from, it's tasty. This sub doesn't touch Capt N though. Fries - Mmmm. According to their menu, Plutos' fries are from Idaho and are cooked in 100% pure vegetable oil (no trans fat). The fries tasted like they were cooked in fresh oil, and had an interesting and delicious seasoning salt blend on them. They are the thickness of steak fries. Chicken Noodle Soup aka Chicken Shells - I anticipated disappointment, but my fiancee and I were cold and wanted to warm up. This soup tasted homemade. And some friends told me all of their soups are delish as well. Not too salty, a ton of noodles, a fair amount of chicken and carrots, and dayyym good. Hot Dog - They serve 100% pure Vienna Beef here. And the trimmings are essential Chicago. If you're in the area, it's worth the stop! read more

Worker took down my card wrong, after 30 minutes passed they got a hold of me and told me that they needed my card number again. During that time, my food sat there. I was told the food was going to be remade ands delivered immediately. They heated up my food and gave me new fries. You really fooled me. Waste of money and time. In Oak Lawn, there is a bevy of fast food choices on Cicero Avenue between 95th and 111th Streets. Should you choose Pluto's, you will have made a good choice. I'll admit that it is not cheap. However, the quality is excellent. Get the turkey sub, Italian sausage, or classic hot dog. All of them are great. There are a bunch of places like Pluto's here on the SW side. Youve got Mickey's, youve got Fatso's, Dabs etc just to name a few. They all have similar menus. Pluto's is pretty good though. I dont go nearly as often as I have in the past as I live a little bit more north west of there now and I find myself going to Fatso's which is closer. Looking for a Chicago classic...deep fried fatty pizza puff? Pluto's has one. A Chicago Style hot dog? Pluto's does Chicago Style to a T. Vienna hot dog with that snap casing, poppy seed bun, relish and my favorite sport peppers. They make a pretty decent burger as well. I particularly like their fries which are simple but good. Sorta like Wendy's fries before they changed them. Also a fan of their Maxwell St Polish and their home made soups. read more

I'm giving this place 1 star not because of the food because of the rude drive thru service. The girl that works the window in the evening is rude and the older woman who I believe is the manager is just as rude. I stopped coming here 6 months ago because of the service. She opensthe window gives me a total $18 and change for 2 double cheeseburgers with bacon NO fries and NO drinks. I didn't want to argue the price because me and my son were hungry so I paid it. Never again. Sure the burgers were good but weren't worth nearly $19. Besides they were rude two previous times and this was the third and final time. I will definitely be doing my business elsewhere and will be letting my friends and neighbors also know to avoid this place. This is my second time trying Pluto's. The food is hot and fresh. Medium order of fries is bigger than a large in most places. They also had steamed broccoli if you want a healthier side dish and it was also hot and fresh. Slightly pricier than other similar places but worth it in my opinion. The only downside is I don't like Red Gold ketchup as much as Heinz but it's acceptable. Well, this was my first visit, and everyone was saying that they've got great Chicago Style hotdogs. So I did the Galaxy special, hold the sport peppers, and an extra side of onion rings to go. Got my order quickly and headed home. And to my surprise there's no onion rings, they gave me cheese sticks instead. They were pretty good, but of course I got no sauce, because I didn't actually order them. The fries were just there, nothing to write home about. Loving this restaurant here. When I first moved to the area, this was one of the first places I visited. I love the retro feel of Pluto's and the service is above par. In a nutshell, this restaurant deform delivers in their quality and food selections. I enjoy their Chicago style hotdogs and milkshakes. The facility itself is very spacious and clean. I was expecting the worst when I pulled in to an old Burger King. But I was pleasently suprised. They have 6 specials that include fries. Everything else on the menu has to be ordered seperate. I had a gyros with the add on fries and a soda for almost 9 bucks. That is the only down side. The gyros came on a small pita that was covered in meat. So how am I suppose to eat this without looking like a pig? It was huge on the garlic and the meat was very good. the fries were half cold and half hot? They were seasoned with something that I couldn't even taste with all the ketchup I had put on them. But they were crispy. They have a big menu and I would like to try some of their other fair.
