I have ordered from here before and the food is good. I even order while at work. I ordered for delivery and received the text that it was on the way. Tracking the delivery it was going away from my house. Minutes later, the text said "delivered contactless". There was no food, I contacted the restaurant and Jose said, when did you order. I gave him the time and he said it was for pick-up. I said no it wasn't and he proceeded to argue that it was for pick-up then said to call Grubhub it wasn't his problem. I said so who sent the text that it was delivered and he hung up the phone on me. I will no longer patronize them. I did receive a refund! read more

I'm glad that I decided to give this place a chance, because it turned out to be so much better than I'd thought it would be. Oh, don't get me wrong - they still have some kinks to work out, no question of it, but if they do, this might even vault to a 5 star rating. As it stands, it's definitely a solid four. The place was pretty busy when we walked in (Saturday night about 6:30pm) - all of the tables were filled but for two, and there was a steady stream of carry-out customers, so apparently the word's gotten out. I was slightly amused to see some of the old Quiznos decorations still in the place and being used. I don't think that it's fair to compare this place to Chipotle, exactly. It's the same general concept - burrito vs. bowl - and there are a few different things such as quesadillas and fajitas available as well. It's a similar execution, too - build your meal from the choices available (rice, peppers, onions, beans, cheese, etc.), pay, eat. But there's differences that make this place stand out over Chipotle - 1. The ingredients tasted MUCH fresher than anything I could have gotten at the big C. The peppers and onions were not grilled, but raw - not sure what that was about, actually - but in a way, I actually preferred the taste over the limpness of the grilled version. It was a lot "healthier" tasting to me and the flavors actually made the bowl shine a lot brighter, so in this case it wasn't at all a bad thing. 2. The spice level here will NOT disappoint, not even for the "milder" verde. They will let you taste the sauces upon request - and believe me, I'm VERY glad I did, because if I'd gotten the red sauce like I'd planned, there's no way I would have been able to eat my dish at all. The red sauce is EXTREMELY spicy - my tongue was actually burning throughout the meal, so if you're not a fan of spicy food, stick with the verde sauce - and be warned, even that has a kick to it. 3. The service was a lot more personal and friendly than any Chipotle I've ever been to. This is a small business, with a small business atmosphere, and it shows. 4. The prices are unbelievably reasonable. We only paid 17 dollars for two bowls and two big drinks, and the portions are VERY generous. Mind, this place does have some drawbacks - my bowl was actually not that "hot" temperature-wise, and I would have maybe liked it to be a little warmer, but it didn't detract for me. If this matters to you, though, it might be a problem. Also, the salsa bar was a bit lacking, but this could have been because it was getting toward closing time. They were out of some flavors on the soda machine, but nothing we wanted, so that wasn't an issue for us. By the way, the hours listed on Yelp are incorrect - the place is open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 8pm. Not open on Sunday. I confirmed this with the owner. I think that Poblano might have had a bit of a rough start, but it's quickly turning out to be a very popular place in Mt. Vernon/Seton Hill, and I for one welcome it. I honestly thought I have written a review for Poblano. Hands down I will go to Poblano over Chipotle any day. Best burrito bowls and tacos ever. This is always my go to spot when I am feeling a little Tex Mex, I usually will get the burrito bowl with chicken or shrimp, and the tacos are amazing as well. (9/23/2014) The cursed spot vacated by the Quizno's at the crazy intersection of Chase/Park/MLK has been filled by Poblano, a very obvious local Chipotle knock-off. Got a burrito wrap (is that redundant?) like I would normally get at Chipotle (these are Mission style burritos from San Fran) and had it filled with approx. the same things (cilantro-lime rice, black beans, cheese, pico, salsa verde, guac, hot sauce, lettuce, didn't see any, nor was I offered, any sour cream). Steak was likely Tyson Grilled & Ready® Fully Cooked Frozen Seasoned Steak Strips, no antibiotic or hormone-free, tiptoeing through the tulips, hand-massaged, beef here. Rice is overcooked and gummy. I did feel like my fajita vegetables might have been chopped fresh, though. It's nice they throw in some chips (literally), but I could do with out the grease coming through the bag. They're def working out some kinks in the operation, including how to run a register (check your change, I was shorted), how to build and wrap a burrito, how to run food (tripping over each other on the line). Everything about the place is like a cheap Chinatown Fendi handbag: at a passing glance, it might look the same, but with a weird feeling of being just a little off. Went back for the nachos, again, just to round out my experience. I was hoping they would taste as great as the first time. They were certainly better than the second order, but did not match the flavor and freshness of the first visit. This time I immediately noticed that the nachos were not covered on lettuce. A plus. There was an abundance of cilantro and white onion. I did get more corn and chicken. This batch was noticeably spicier. The chips were so -so. Some tasted fresh while others seemed stale. Poblano is one of the few authentic Mexican restaurants here!!! I was so excited to find it. Growing up, one of my favorite things to eat was a carne asada quesadilla, and I haven't been able to find good carne asada since coming to the east coast, but Poblano actually does it well. Aside from the quesadillas, every other dish I've gotten here is wonderful, very flavorful, and reasonably priced. So I drive past this place everyday on my way from work, today was the day I finally decided to stop( available parking out front played a big part in that decision). The place is small and quite and appears clean. They don't have an extensive menu; burritos, tacos, bowls and nachos. I went with the chicken tacos. I don't like corn tortillas so I knew right away I was going to be disappointed. I prefer the flour tortilla but most traditional places use corn and that's why tend to stray away from authentic Mexican tacos. They do ask you what would you like on taco. They have a variety of fixens, you can put a little or a lot....its up to you. You get a choice of brown or white rice an a choice between black or pinto beans. I ended up ditching the tortillas (can't stand that after taste of the corn) and tossing everything together to make a mock salad. There wasn't really much flavor in anything. A few of them were talking about "stale chips". I tried them today. They're homemade tortilla chips made from ACTUAL TORTILLAS. This place was a letdown and it's sad. It's a small business and the people there were pretty awesome. My suggestion is some quality control of the meat; my steak was old and it tasted like leather. I did not have breakfast and ordered some food, steak quesadillas to be exact. I threw it away half way through. There is no doubt these guys work hard, but the quality needs to be moderated. I see that there are great reviews and bad, but the question is, why do we have to gamble what experience we will have? Got chicken quesadilla, beef burrito and fish nachos. Quesadilla was the best of the three and well worth the money. It came with sour cream, lettuce and diced tomatoes too. Burrito was huge and filled with stuff such as rice, black beans, meat, etc. but beef was low in proportion to the rest of the filling and it was chewy and rubbery. I couldn't swallow it. I advise against beef burrito. Fish nachos were good. Fish had a strong smell and could be better prepared but rest was great. Lots of veggies, cheese and crispy nachos. Who needs Chipotle when you have Poblano Mexican Grill?! Poblano's prices are much more reasonable and has more toppings to offer, fresh cut lime, yummy cilantro and guacamole!! Not only were the people who work at Poblano Mexican Grill super nice. There was not a super long line like Chipotle. Poblano's is more authentic and overall a much better place to eat. It is in Mount Vernon by Monument Park. You can get it to go and sit in the park and enjoy a delicious feast. Baltimore now has a new place to experience, so go and enjoy! read more

Sorry but this is not chipotle or any derivative of chipotle. Nothing close. When I came here for lunch yesterday both employees were eating their lunch out in the middle of the cafe. That's unprofessional. I felt like I was interrupting their siesta. One of the guys got up to prepare my fajita. The chicken was not good... overcooked and under seasoned dark meat. Blah. The peppers were simply grilled and the black beans were nothing to write home about. On the positive side. The kitchen seemed clean and our cook/ordertaker did wear gloves which was good to see although he spoke very little English. The place was empty at 1pm which is not a great sign. I think what poblano needs is direction and a much more captivating menu instead of just fajitas and burritos. I can just go to chipotle for that. Poblano also needs organization. I will say that the redesign of the dining area is nice compared to the Quiznos that used to be there. I also like the color scheme. But you know what... this is a far cry from the efficient quick serve Mexican restaurant poblano wants to be. Although the ingredients were fresh There's nothing here I couldn't prepare at home. This spot is a nice little place for lunch and certainly beats the Quiznos! It's structured like Chipotle...essentially a taco/burrito bar with salad, bowl, and fajita options. The ingredients are fresh - you can see them chopping everything up - and you get a lot of food. The platter includes rice, beans, and then homemade tortilla chips (which are GREAT.) THere's a small salsa bar too, although they were running low since we came at the tail end of the lunch hour. However, there aren't that many salsa options, so it would be great if they added a few more in. (I'll mention that to them next time I go in.) My co-workers and I got tacos and a fajita order. They use corn tortillas here and they're really good. The meat is not necessarily as flavorful like you might get at Chipotle, but it still made a good taco. We left FULL. Not one of us was able to clear our plate completely. The owner also came out and talked to us for a while to make sure we enjoyed our meal. He was very friendly. He said that all of the recipes are his own and seems really proud of his establishment. We'll be going back there for lunch again. read more

Came here & used a restaurant.com voucher (5$ off when u spent 10). Pretty good food with decent prices, similar to chipotle's style. I got the shrimp fajitas to go, with everything.
