Me and my surf friends love going here after a long surf session. Today I rode my bike from Bolsa Chica state beach, past the overpriced restaurants and fast food joints along the beach boardwalk, and straight to The Pocket. There's 2 parking spots right in front if you decide to drive here, and parking in the back as well. As far as seating goes, there's 3 tables outside and a few more inside. If you come here around lunch time or later, there can sometimes be a very long line (because the food is freakishly amazing). Today I decided to try the bbq burger and their garlic fries. Both were delicious, and the burger comes with 2 big onion rings inside. The business itself is family owned and the entire family is always very friendly. I opted to not purchase a beverage with my meal and the owner offered me a water cup. They have a water dispenser in the corner near the door for customers. I highly recommend coming here if you're craving a burger. I haven't tried their other menu items since I'm such a burger fiend, but I'm sure no matter what you try here, you won't be disappointed. read more

Pocket burger has a lot of stuff in between the buns - Angus beef pattie, bacon, avocado, eggs, lettuce, tomato, and the yummy sweet BBQ sauce. It was messy but so good. The fries that come with it are crunchy and good! California burrito is a beast. It has French fries inside the burrito...! Meaty and cheesy, it's so big that you may not be able finish it even! There are other things on the menu that also looked good. There are two tables inside and a few tables outside. We went as late lunch so there was only a short line. This family-owned restaurant had local regulars supporting the business. There is a tattoo shop next to it so some people come here while someone is getting a tattoo too. I came to this restaurant per a friend's recommendation a while back and I fell in love with their signiture pocket burger. It literally became one of my favorite burgers. I came back to this place again and my feelings have not changed. I ordered the same pocket burger. The burger is so flavorful and filling with a teriyaki taste to it. The burger has a friend egg, cheese, bacon, beef patty, tomato, avocado, tomato, onions, lettuce. The beef patty was very juicy and tasty. Just the blend of all those favors is what really won me over. The fries is complimentary with the burger order, which were fresh and crispy. I barely was able to finish my order. It is very filling. Two of my other guy friends with me also struggled to finish it. With the size of the burger and the fries, the price of this is similar to other fast food burger joints but the quality of this place is so much better. Found this local burger spot and decided to try some of their yummy food. I called in my order and spoke to the owner who was friendly, nice and very helpful. My husband had the tri-tip burger with garlic fries and it was so delicious! The burger was moist, it had mushrooms and caramelizas onions it had a great steak flavor & the garlic fries were amazing! I first met Daniel in Home Depot on Warner and Golden West, where I worked in the electrical department. He was wearing a shirt which I believe had the hot dog races on it, and I told him I liked his shirt. I think he said it had to do with a baseball team (Milwaukee Brewers??). As an Angels fan, we talked baseball for a few minutes. Then I asked him what he did. He told me he just bought Pocket Burger and was doing some maintenance on the place but wasn't open yet. I told him I knew of the place. My girlfriend turned me on to it several years ago. I said, "They had the best date shakes in the world!!" Dan apparently didn't know that, and they weren't on the menu he was planning. A little while later, he was back in the store, saw me, and went out of his way to come up to tell me, "Hey, I'm adding date shakes." Come see us. Came in a few weeks later. OMG!! Even better than I remember! His wife lovingly makes him in the back room. It takes a little while, but, boy, are they delicious!!!! Even better than I remember! Served with an oversized straw so the dates don't get stuck. Honestly, I can't even comment on the food we've ordered. Always up to snuff, but the date shakes just turn my mind off to everything else. Drove by today at 5pm and was disappointed they were closed. Currently close at 3pm. It's understandable as it's early spring. Wish they opened at 6:00 am so I could pick up a breakfast burrito before work. Might even be able to swing 7am if I can call in an order. Haven't tried them, but the reviews are great!! The burgers take a while to cook, but they're fresh, and the love that's put into them are epic. Fabulous little burger shack near Sunset/Bolsa Chica beach surf spots, along PCH. Family-owned. You're attended to by the super friendly father, mother, and often their grown kids. Every order made to order right then and there in their small kitchen, so there can be a few minutes wait when they get busy, especially with hungry surfers after a long session. But it's so worth the wait. I've had the delish Salmon burger and breakfast burrito, but I almost always jonez for the Pocket Burger, a giant, jaw-popping, stacked burger with everything but the kitchen sink in it: lettuce, tomato, house-made sauce, what seems like fully 1/2 a large avocado, and a fried egg, STANDARD. And it comes with fries! It's a giant burger, with no component skimped on, and utterly delicious. The hardest part is getting your mouth around it and holding it all together while you're eating it. All of which, including the fries, at the price of a single "gourmet burger" in many trendy restaurants (and without all the extra components, for which they'd most certainly charge you). Honestly, knowing what the cost of avocados and eggs alone are nowadays, I don't know how they can stay in business. Parking is limited as they are tiny and right along PCH, but it's not that hard to find street parking around. Seating is outside on a few tables and benches. This place is a gem. The staff, especially Lori, is so friendly and it feels like home once you walk in because they all go out of their way to make sure you're happy with your meal. Lori recommended the Agua Fresca that was made of mango and passion fruit. I'm not a big fan of agua frescas but I couldn't help but steal a few gulps from my girlfriend's drink.
