How about this place? It has a rating of 4.7; that is quite extraordinary in my Yelp experience. Of course, we had to have our weekly lunch here today. We were not disappointed. First of all, they have a "senior" lunch menu. We didn't even have to show our IDs! The prices are terrific. I had the fried chicken sandwich special with the tots and a drink. My buddy had the Denver omelette with toast and home fries and a drink. I took pictures. They were both completely perfectly delicious! The service was friendly and we felt welcome and appreciated! The ambiance is casually comfortable and homey. I tipped 20% and the check was $36. read more

We had a lovely experience at this hidden gem of a restaurant. I went there with my daughter and was quite impressed by the variety on their menu for breakfast and brunch foods. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but the thing I enjoy most about a diner is people watching, banter with strangers, just farting around. Doors wide open at this strip mall diner. Light sea breeze rolling into the seating area. Whitesnake playing on the radio. A 55 Chevy in the lot. Ask the fella about it. All original, and it's easy to tell. Built at Van Nuys. It's harvest gold color and it just gleams on a Sunday morning. Terrific sunrise platter, only $12. Orange slices and lettuce leaf for garnish. That gets you five stars. This little hole in the wall drive by and you might miss it is a gem. The coffee was delightful and the food was full of flavor. The staff was friendly and happy to accommodate special requests. The review that was posted before the one I'm posting now is so rude. Attacking a small business cuz there drowning in orders be a human being and be nice. I just tried this place after looking at on my way home everyday. It's clearly a small business and as you walk in thy great you with kindness with and this place is such a comfortable place to be at. It feels very cozy, th service is amazing and the food is freshly made per order so if you have to wait for a second which I only waited 5 mins be patient. People need to quit being so demanding and rude. These are clearly nice people creating great products. 5 stars. read more

My advice to owner no more excuses! Went in after church for a QUICK breakfast. Well that was a joke. 48 mins in and still no food. When speaking to owner it was excuse after excuse. Oh water polo was here. Yes they left before we came in. Oh soo many orders to go. Then stop taking on line orders! You have customers actually sitting in your restaurant and you are more worried about to go orders? A couple actually asked for refund and left. My plate was served first cold. Waited another 7 mins for others to be served (image my food now). You need to hire a manger that can better run the place WITH NO EXCUSES. People don't want to hear them. We just want food served in a reasonable amount of time with no BS attached. read more

I always wanted to come in here as a customer I have delivered for them many times. I found the bacon cheeseburger and french fries combo for $11 to be very reasonably priced but the meat?! It's so good!! You come in to a tiny diner setting and you will be immediately greeted. He is very comfortable and they have two TVs. I had to try the bacon burger with french fries, which was delicious. It only took me six minutes to get in three minutes to eat. Lol. The ciabatta breakfast sandwich is amazing. The bread is soft and warm. They fill it with avocado, fluffy eggs, lettuce, tomato, cheese, red onions, mayo, and bacon. I've gotten it without the bacon, and it's delicious. The cheese is ooey-gooey melted and brings all the ingredients together. The breakfast sandwich is a nice size, so I eat half for breakfast and the other half for lunch. I've seen this place for YEARS!! And I always wanted to try it but always forgot. So when I found myself waiting for my tires to get replaced next-door, I hopped on over and tried Springdale Café. The service was friendly and she was very patient with me as I looked over a very extensive breakfast menu. I ordered the French toast, platter and French vanilla iced coffee. At Springdale Café you order at the counter first, find your seat and they bring the food to you. The only issue I had was they used coffee mate for the flavoring of the iced coffee. I wish I would have known this ahead of time I would have just ordered a regular coffee other than that the food was great. What you would expect for a café. They had two TVs on if that's what you want to do maybe catch up on your news and or sports. The tables were clean. read more

Wow what a find. Was waiting on my vehicle and walked next door to American Tire to find this hidden gem. I would drive from my home in Seal Beach past several chain restaurants to reach this spot. Ordered a breakfast ciabatta sandwich, fluffy eggs, enough bacon & avocado to keep you happy, red onion, tomato, leaf lettuce & coffee. Both delightful and the sandwich was yummy. Didn't have to season or add the Tapatio! It's nice to find a new spot; even better when it turns out to be this special. I'll be back soon with friends. read more

Sat down for breakfast while by truck received 2 new tires next door. I ordered 2 sandwiches, Breakfast Brioche and Breakfast Croissant. Both came out within 5 min of ordering. Eggs are thick and fluffy like a pillow. Cheese and bacon are spot on with a hint of spicy Mayo brings both to another level of goodness. Tater tots are crispy and held a warm temperature for 20 min until they were consumed. The menu is simple and wonderful when you need to come in and chill for a minute or grab and take home. I stumbled upon this restaurant after arriving to my destination early. I wanted a hearty breakfast and I got one here. The place is clean. It has a comfortable and warm feel. The portions are plentiful. The coffee is delicious, and the service is provided with a welcoming smile. I regret that I can't come often, as I live over 50 miles away. ABSOLUTELY Delicious. I haven't tried anything from Springdale cafe, that I didn't Love. Great fast service. Always greeted with a welcoming smile and hello. I go crazy for their breakfast burritos but I'm on a High protein low carb diet now so I go in for their protein platter absolutely delicious 4 times a week after workouts at the gym. They start cooking after finishing an order. Their burgers normally comes with patties, cheese, fresh crunchy lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles and other veggies. If you combo it, it comes with crunch mid thickness sized fries.....sooo good.... Price is decent, too. They also have breakfast menu as well as salads. They are all yummy! The staff was a 3 man crew. They were busy. A lot of orders going in and out. We had a whole soccer team there and there isn't much room for sitting, but we just snagged tables as we could. I was about To give them 3 stars because the food took over 30 minutes to come out. Once we got the food though, you can tell the ingredients are fresher and it's more of a scratch kitchen vibe. Always fresh, always delicious! Had the breakfast ciabatta and was not disappointed. The breakfast burritos are always a favorite and I just tried the Premium Iced Coffee and it is worth trying. Diverse menu, but not overwhelming and the staff is always very friendly. Killer burgers too! read more

Brian - is the co-owner of the diner, but is also part of "old-school" Little Saigon culinary royalty - a descendant of the family that founded the OG Song Long restaurant off Bolsa Ave. that has since shut down (known for their Cha Ca Thanh Long dish - which sadly, you can't get here). He is incredibly warm, genuine, and easy to chat with. After trying to decide between their Bo Kho variations (which is my favorite Vietnamese dish next to pho) - I settled for something new for me - their Five Spiced Chicken Fried Steak - which also comes with two eggs your way (I picked "Sunny Side up"), tater tots, and a Diet Coke. The wait was minimal - and the food was awesome! The tater tots tasted fresh - was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and yummy on the inside. I found myself eating those first - while letting the gravy seep into my chicken fried steak to soften it up a bit. The chicken fried steak was perfectly flavored - you could almost taste a bit of pho spices with each bite. The homemade gravy was out of this world amazing - making the chicken breading soft enough for me to eat comfortably. Springdale Cafe is absolutely amazing! I work in the area and have been a customer since they opened. I can tell the owner has a passion for his business and the food reflects that. All the meals are reasonably priced, especially when considering the quality of the dish. I can honestly and without hesitation say I have never been disappointed with my meal. Anthony, the owner, is an amazing chef and very friendly. He is constantly upgrading the menu and perfecting his dishes. The mall had a lot of surface, uncovered spots, so parking wasn't a problem around lunch time. One orders and pays at the counter, and the sandwiches are brought out to you when dining in. The menu consists of both cold and hot sandwiches. There is a self serve ice water jug, along with a self-serve pickles (sliced kosher dills) and peppers (both pepperoncini and cascabella). It's a really nice touch and we took advantage. One thing that made me do a double take was the offer of $3 anytime pints of the house lager on tap. It was confirmed by the owner that it was correct, and each of us got a glass. Clover is the payment system used here, and was able to get a text with the bill. It took a bit of time for the sandwiches to come out. Our friend and I split two hot sandwiches. First being a Mock Ruben ($12.50) consisting of Corned beef, swiss, sauerkraut, and mustard on rye. I thought it was good, with a nice meld of flavors and well grilled/toasted bread (not a strong rye). Friend thought it was dry. We both agreed my sandwich was much better, Cousin Eddie ($14.25) consisting of pastrami, swiss, deli mustard, 1000 island, and pickled red cabbage. For some reason, a custom item charge of $0.75 was put on the bill (thinking it was for the side of chimichurri), and unfortunately there was chimichurri on the sandwich which my wife gamely tried to pick off. None of the sandwiches were large, nor were any of them stacked with that much meat. In fact I was able to eat half of each of the sandwiches, but for the price, I thought it was very reasonable. The pickle and pepper bar is a great idea, letting anybody add some zing to any sandwich. The service was friendly, as the owner genuinely seemed to care what we thought (though my wife didn't feel like complaining about the chimichurri). And the pints of the house blonde on tap was a bargain. They seem to have a pizza night on Thursday, and the beer would absolutely hit the spot then.
