My wife and decided to stop in while visiting old haunts. We both had their iced tea, delicious, while reading the menu. My wife decided on the Turkey croissant while opted for a bowl of chili and a pastrami sandwich. Bothe huge and delicious! They have not skipped a beat! Looking forward to visiting again next year!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cool beach diner. Small inside but very charming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress was awesome, super friendly and warm. You can tell she really enjoys her job, she knows her regulars and it was fun to watch her interactions with them. Our breakfast was really good as well. I had the caprese avocado toast and it was very good. It was fresh and flavorful. My husband had the bacon and eggs which he enjoyed as well. Would definitely return if we are back in the area again.
Stopped by to grab a bite before heading out to Huntington Beach promenade. This place is located right on PCH. It was a Saturday evening and there was plenty of parking. Besides a gentleman sitting at the counter, I believe we were the only other people there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place has a very diner feel. With the counter and small booths/tables. There is an other room over on your right. This is where we sat. The windows are covered almost completely in stickers. There are surfboards on the ceiling and a cute little vintage jukebox in the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was very nice. My husband ordered a cheeseburger with onion rings and I ordered the avocado tuna melt with the beer battered fries. Everything we ordered was delicious. The tuna melt was on a Parmesan crusted sour dough bread that was the perfect amount of toasty, buttery and salty. Sooo good. They were not stingy with the avocado either. And i can't forget about the fries.... They were hot, fresh and crispy ...Thank you!!!! My husband loved his cheeseburger. He also enjoyed the onion rings very much. Only complaint is that he wished there was more of them. All in all, Woody's Was wonderful. The parking, the ambiance, the food, the staff. Everything.
Grabbed a quick breakfast at Woody's Diner Right on the Pacific Coast highway at Sunset Beach. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cute little diner complete with the round bar stools, small booths, and black and white checkerboard floors. There were even little jukeboxes on some of the tables. There's a second room for overflow crowds or bigger parties. Of course, being right near the beach, there were surfboards as decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were super friendly, and the food came up fast. I wanted something basic and ordered coffee, two scrambled eggs, and white bread toast. I was happy my eggs came out perfect. It was a good breakfast and honestly enough food that I didn't finish at all. The coffee was so good without a hint of bitterness. Although I only ordered basic, I'm guessing that everything else would be as good. I think this is a solid place for a bite to eat when you're in the area. I feel like I'm cheating on my usual place for coffee across the street from Seal Beach Pier, but it was definitely worth it.

I think the potatoes should've been a little bit crispier and because they had spinach in it it made the potatoes a little bit soggy, and there was juice running from the skillet. Just an ordinary breakfast place. Nothing I would go out of my way for. Average, although service was good.
After a bike ride down PCH this past weekend, my wife and I stopped by Woody's Diner in Sunset Beach for a bite--and we're so glad we did! She ordered the Eggs Benedict, and I went with the Texas Burger. Both were fantastic! The Eggs Benedict had perfectly poached eggs, a rich and creamy hollandaise, and a nicely toasted English muffin. My Texas Burger was everything you want in a burger--juicy, flavorful, and stacked with BBQ sauce, crispy onion rings, and bacon. It hit the spot after the ride! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The diner has that classic beachy, laid-back vibe that makes you feel right at home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly despite it being a busy weekend morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely a solid spot for breakfast, lunch, or just to soak in that Sunset Beach atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We'll be back for sure!
My big kids and I enjoyed a summer day at Seal Beach and decided to grab some lunch near by. We walked PCH, so we would lose our beach parking, and came upon Woody's Diner. It was perfect, as we were relaxed and beached out, nothing fancy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance indoors gave you a good feel of a Diner experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are table booths, as well as stools at the table top front to eat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean environment and Staff were very friendly and patient with us, as their menu selection is HUGE.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So much to choose from, and breakfast served all day! Prices were medium range, a generous portion, and food tasted as expected from a Diner. An idea of a check amount; four lunch meal plates, a shakes, and a beer came out to $86. A good experience overall and worth a stop if you are all beached out, want something casual, and enjoying family time.

Not horrible but not excellent either. I experienced service that I consider to be good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just one washroom for everyone, inadequate in my opinion though I am glad that paper towels are available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I might come back sometime in the not too near future to try something else on the menu. If I was to assign a letter grade like is done in school, Woody's Diner Sunset Beach would get a solid "C".

If you're looking for a classic American breakfast, check out Woody's! Ordered a bacon & eggs breakfast, that came with a side hash browns (ordered extra crispy), four slices of bacon, scrambled eggs, and one pancake (lightly dusted with powdered sugar and a side of whipped butter. (~$15) Eggs, bacon, and hash browns were solid. The pancake was also good but it was on the thicker/denser end of pancakes. Still flavorful, their signature pancakes' batter has cinnamon and vanilla in the mix, but I would have hoped for something more moist. All-in-all, solid spot to grab an affordable and filling breakfast. Parking was a bit difficult to find on a Saturday morning at approx. 10am. No wait to be seated though. Food came out quickly as well. read more

Perfect late night shake stop. I've been here a few times just to get their malts. The blonde girl that works there on Saturday night was super super sweet and very friendly. She seemed to be running the place on her own aside from the cook. We got two malts and two sundaes. Everything was perfect as expected. I highly recommend a butterscotch banana malt, it's life changing. read more
5 stars for a diner? Well yeah. In the class of original American Diners! This is one of few that remain true to the standard. Burgers, shakes, breakfasts and coffee. Check all the boxes. Booths, a counter in front of the grill, check those boxes too. Windows and entrance on an entertaining street. Definitely check these boxes. Service is friendly, check! Locals hang here - check! Nuf said, don't miss it! Just a block or so from Mother's, the most welcoming biker bar I've ever had the pleasure of being in. read more
If you want a classic American diner than you probably shouldn't look any further. Right by the beach and read up one of America's most famous coastal highways since Woody's diner. I had to pop in for breakfast, and I had the woody omelette, which was delicious just sliced avocado toast, bacon, diced bacon, and of course the road toast with with cottage cheese on the side. The coffee is fresh and fast, and I can't say enough good things about the environment if you want a slice of americana! You've got to try all of these menu items that you will be seeing! read more

UPDATED REVIEW: So it's been a few years since the last time I went to Woody's, which was around 2010-2014. Now, things have changed - and may I say for the better? I came here for lunch just yesterday after a nice long walk along PCH from my house, and the hostess/server just greeted me in a snap right when I walked in. I ordered the Picante Burger, and man, did it have a kick to it; but the beer-battered fries were just to DIE FOR! Crunchy on the outside, hot on the inside (but not that hot when it burned my tongue). The burger patty itself was perfectly cooked, yet the amount of ingredients (pico de gallo, avocado, Mayo, etc.) were on point so that they don't fall out of the burger. All in all, my tab was close to $20 (with tax), and may I say it was worth it, after 10-15 years. Thank you, Woody's! read more

A great diner overall! We came in on a Sunday morning and were seated pretty quickly. The menu has lots of great options and I decided on the cinnamon roll french toast while my partner got the chicken fried steak. We both enjoyed our food!! Service is pretty quick too. P.s. They have some alcoholic beverage options for weekend brunch that aren't on the menu, but there's a sign when you walk in. read more

ONCE AGAIN, we could not resist the urge to come back to Woody's dinner! The staff is so friendly and the place feels so cozy and comfortable that you feel like you are a long time customer. You always get greeted with smile and they make you feel welcome. This is important for a business especially in an area like Huntington beach or seal beach. But its not only the friendly faces and good vibes, the food is so delicious and the prices are great for the portions!! Soooo I just found out this restaurant is actually a chain! My mind is blown!! The service which is provided by the staff here is so great I thought they were the owners or at least part owners!! Ne-way we returned as we often do to many places that we rate 5 stars just to see if they remain a 5 star establishment or if they were a "one hit wonder". As I stated before, Woody's did not disappoint! Shelly (our server was very nice and friendly, she took care of us as if we were long time customers. At first I wondered if it was because I wrote the first review and she felt she needed to treat us good, but she proved me wrong as I witness her interaction with the other customers at the restaurant and her demeanor or friendly attentive attitude never changed! She is great! Since we arrived there late and it was not very busy, We also met louisa and chava the cook, great people and also very friendly! Chava has great "sazon" (seasoning hand) when it comes to food, something I consider very important when it comes to cooking, you cannot teach that, you either have it or you don't. Bottom mine is that I have been to many places always searching for that great food, great staff and great prices, woody's has all of the above which is very hard to believe in a chain restaurant (still processing that). If you are in the neighborhood, give them a try, I am sure you will not be disappointed! Ordered the beefeater with beer batter fries. Was pleasantly surprised. Had the same server as yesterday and surprisingly recognized us. The enclosed patio is a great seating area and comfortable. Hopefully, this place is still here on our next vacation. read more

Just finished a hike and wanted some good food the place intrigued us since it seemed cozy and different. Food was great I got the avocado bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. Service was good the only thing I'd say is that she forgot about the extra plate and sauces we asked for once we received our food. But overall great experience. read more

Decided to make the drive out here from LA since the OC is opening up again. They have multiple locations and this one seems to be the most popular. Steps from the beach it seems like everyone was here grabbing a bite before heading to the water. Dining area is small and made smaller from social distancing but kept clean. Staff was extremely helpful and well adjusted to the changes. We tried their famous hash browns and they were the best part of the meal. Mushrooms, bacon, cheese, avocado and sour cream. A firm 5/5. Pancakes were good and we also had an omelette. Omelet was a 3/5. Way to thin and overcooked but still a decent size and tasted good. Had the farmers breakfast which is a biscuit with scrambled eggs and sausage. 3/5 again. Gravy was good but a bit runny and eggs overcooked. All in all a decent place and well worth the visit if you want to grab a bit po read more
Woody's is always a good place to stop for breakfast. Servers are always nice, the food comes out pretty quickly, plus you can get morning cocktails if you'd like. The food always taste good, I haven't had anything bad here yet and I've been coming here for years. Now it is rather small inside but they pump out the food like nobody's business. Just a solid place for a quick bite. read more
