First off this place is ADORABLE. It's a vast improvement over the literally hole in the wall Alley Cafe that used to reside in this space. There's indoor or outdoor seating, both of which are cute. I had the nachos which come smothered in cashew cheese. As an avid meat eater I was a teeny bit worried about vegan nachos. But ohhhhh man was I pleasantly surprised. Cashew cheese, crispy chips, black beans and other yummy toppings. I'm hungry just writing about it. They offer a variety of bottles beverages and beer too. One of bisbees food gems i love this place. Its amazing because the food is so flavorful the portions are so big and the food is so good. Did i mention it's all vegan. You don't have to be a vegan or vegetarian to enjoy this place though, there's something for everyone. The staff is polite and friendly and for two staff they do a hell of a job getting food out as soon as possible. The wait is always fun too. They pretty much always have love music and it's fun to enjoy whether you are enjoying their teas, mimosas, or beer and kombucha selection. This restaurant is Animal friendly. It's impossible to get through a meal without seeing one of the local dogs stop by for some pets. They serve up awesome Tex-Mex inspired Vegan creations. It's one of those places that trick your taste buds, "is this really vegan"? I recommend the chimichanga which I personally washed down with a cool refreshing kombocha. It's located in a quaint alley that adds to a laid-back atmosphere. You'll pass by some Coffee Roasters and into a covered patio with open seating. This restaurant expresses personality through creativity in food and in the decor around the patio. They even have some interesting thought pieces in the restroom. More importantly, they serve beer! During my visit to Bisbee, Poca was one of my favorite stops for food. They offer vegan Mexican food along with many different drinks (and good beer!). Service is quick and the patio's cute. When I went I got a spicy "sausage" burrito and my significant other got the same but as a burrito bowl. Both were big and tasty!!! Also got a hibiscus ice tea which was pleasant and just lightly sweet. I was really curious to try the nachos but didn't have the room in my stomach. Maybe next time? Such a gem in Bisbee! The space is just wonderful. It's tucked off Tombstone Canyon. You walk past a couple of outdoor vendors and then you'll come to Poco. They have a large menu set up outside and when you're ready you order at the window. There is no indoor dining. There is a nice sized patio, covered and uncovered where you can sit. They have a cooler where you can grab a drink, water, soda and beer (ya!) On this day I went with the ranch'n bowl. Everything is made fresh so it can be a minute, especially if they are busy, which was the case today. The bowl was filled with greens, chicken, brown rice, beans and guacamole. My only complaint is I wish there were more meat because it was really flavorful. The sauce had a nice kick and I really enjoyed that. I really like this place and hanging out on the patio. I just wish they would expand their days and hours. They are only open Fri-Sun from 11-4 which stinks :( I recommend Poco if you are in the area. Bisbee - come for the mining, stay for the amazing vegan restaurant. Or do I have that backwards? I actually came for the restaurant - I was transiting from one area of Arizona to another, and happened to be going through Bisbee around lunchtime (excellent planning, me!). This was to be my first meal in the state, and as soon as I started to read about this place I knew it had to be nothing else. I'm not vegan (I am pescatarian) and I was hoping I would find a vegetarian Sonoran dog sometime during my stay. And here it was, so I went straight for the Poco dog & fries. I ordered at the cute counter, sat outside and took in the surrounding scene. Not that I had much time to take it in, because within a couple of minutes here was my order. And it was beautiful! One of those meals that tasted as good as it looked (and just look at it!). Plenty of jalapenos to make that dog bark, too - just a perfect blend of everything, the black bean base, the faux dog, the enveloping bun. (I'm getting sentimental here.) The only (only) snag was that another table had hogged the Cholula bottles so I ate my fries with the house ketchup - which was really great and provided a slight bit of spice too. And I as a rule hate ketchup, so the fact that I actually enjoyed it shows you that we have some serious culinary arts going on here. I didn't want things to end, so I went back to the counter and got their ice cream bar, a salted-caramel coated in chocolate, for a takeaway. A nice sweet conclusion to that spice, and good fuel to wander up and down the charming old town of Bisbee. Tucson and all of the surrounding towns are known for their cuisine, but dare I say I began my trip with THE BEST meal I had the whole week I was there. I'm still daydreaming about it a couple weeks later. You can still strike it rich in this town. read more

When you order the food it does take a while for your order, but it is all made fresh. I tried a vegan sonoran hotdog. This place is great. First off, beware, it is hard to find as it is in an alleyway off the main street. Once you find it though you have hit the jackpot. You order inside and then grab a table in the courtyard off the alley or inside. They have beer and wine and the wine recommended by the host/waitress taking your order at the counter was great. No pretentiousness, the owner is cooking in the kitchen. The food is delivered fresh to your table, is flavorful, and really good. You would never know that this place is vegetarian. It appears the menu changes based on what is available as it was written on a dry erase board. Prices are reasonable also. We were visiting Bisbee for the Fourth of July and some friends we were traveling with happened on POCO. We had already eaten breakfast, but after seeing the menu we decided to go Hobbit style and have 2nd breakfast. I had the southwest eggs benedict. Vegan eggs benedict...how could that be good? Everything in the original review is still true, with some additional raves - they managed to make a tofu sandwich with actual flavor and texture! Also, the Mexican chocolate cupcakes with cinnamon frosting were to die for - I wish I could have gotten a picture, as they were almost too pretty to eat. The staff are all great folks who'll come ask you about your meal and then actually listen to what you have to say. It's Mexican for sure, but so nuanced and creative that you'll be deconstructing the food to understand how it was born. We were on a short trip to Bisbee and stumbled onto this colorful, joyful spot in an alley off the main street. Each meal was better than the last. The owner even came out and told us about the ingredients and techniques. It's not fancy, it's just delicious. The colorful environment was a blast too. I especially loved the music that was playing. Poco is a reason for me to visit Bisbee. Seriously. I think about it sometimes while I'm stuck with the same old options in Tucson. I want vegan Mexican food! And Poco delivers. The best thing about Poco is that it serves great food. Plain and simple. Several great selections, dessert items and drinks. This place is the shit. Don't delay on the nachos. So good and hot and comfortable. Really well done. If I was going to offer any constructive criticism it would be that they don't need to use so many fake meats (as good as Gardein is) as these are a bit of a turn off. Vegan food doesn't have to replicate meats to be awesome... for example, they have a killer brussel sprout burrito that is genius. Also, fresh salsa would be a nice touch with each meal. But I'm nitpicking here cuz I love Poco and would love them even more if they weren't so far away. I think they could do very well in Tucson in the right location. GO TO POCO! POCO is magic. My boyfriend and I drove out of our way to come here driving from Tucson to El Paso, and we are so happy we did. It's truly inspiring. I have been a lapsed vegetarian for a few years now, but if I could eat at POCO everyday I would never need meat again. It's that delicious. The place itself is charming, and you feel like you're being cooked for in someone's home. The owner (I think) made our food and she was marvelous. She greeted people and hugged them, and that friendliness really translates into the eating experience. I feel lucky I got to see a special town doing wonderful things. So, every so often in my travels I come across a place that makes me overwhelmed with joy and sadness all at once. This is one of these places. I feel joy at the fact that I found this amazing place, and sadness because it's not in the city, or very close to the city in which I live. Oh my God. That's honestly the best way to describe this place. Oh my God. We started off with quesadilla tacos (It was a special trip and we weren't caring about the calories for the day. So don't judge me.) But they were freaking amazing. We couldn't figure out what was going on with the cheese. We knew it wasn't regular cheese, but we couldn't put our fingers on it and it was still amazing, so we just went with it. Then I got the roasted veggie burrito, because, get this, I didn't want to eat anything that had a face at any time that night. We didn't realize it's a vegan place. My boyfriend got the sausage burrito. I tried his and it was so good! It was spicy but not overwhelming, and when he tried a piece of just the sausage and told me it might not be real, I scoffed and said "nonsense!" Now, I feel that a lot of places fail when it comes to roasted veggie anything, but this place nailed it! They were still crispy and seasoned perfectly. So after, what with the sausage and cheese questions in our minds, we asked the server if it was vegetarian. He clued us in to the restaurants vegan status! We were so happy! We were both vegetarians for 14 years, and still eat pretty veggie-friendly. We also remarked that we could easily bring someone who is not vegetarian and they would still really enjoy their meal. The owner came out and talked to us for a while, which was also really nice. The very first time my wife and I ate there we knew it was something special. The second time were were firmly cemented as huge fans. The food is 100% vegan, Mexican inspired, filling, beautiful, and tastes amazing. Each bite is a little taste nova that threatens to rock your face right off!! Amazing, Went to bisbee three weeks ago, was walking around and stumbled in this alley way as I was looking at the Bisbee roaster coffee.... decided to get coffee later and get lunch first. We sat outside, the patio was so cute, i loved it. Went in to order, all the choices looked amazing.. finally decided and I got the local veggie quesadilla daiya tacos...... They coulda fooled me, the daiya cheese was melty and soo ooey gooey. my boyfriend got the carne asada burrito and he thought he was eating meat until I told him we were at a vegan restaurant.. and he kinda stared at me dumbfounded... Visited Bisbee a couple of days ago. A friend and I were looking for a place to eat after being on the road for a while. Bisbee is a very nice little town, with a "vintage Americana" vibe to it. Stopped at Poco based on the good Yelp reviews. Had the lentil soup and a burrito chicken ranchero. Although the food really didnt taste mexican, it was good enough. We had a wonderful dinner for twenty people at Poco on the Saturday night before the wedding of our son and his bride. After inquiring around town and being turned down by several restaurants, we were greatly relieved when Poco said "Yes,"to our large group. The evening was warm, so we sat outside, giving our wedding guests a wonderful taste of Old Bisbee. The food was great, as we knew it would be (having dined their a lot recently), and so was the service. Overall, bisbee is a charming town, and it's no surprise that it would host a spot like poco. Poco has all the elements of a fantastic restaurant, great atmosphere, fast friendly service, and delicious food...and did I mention it's vegan?!? Don't let the fact that there isn't any meat coming off that grill fool you, poco brings the flavor hardcore. I had the America f#@k yeah pancakes (in honor of the fourth and an homage to Team America). The pancakes were perfect , sweet, fluffy, and cooked to perfection. Topped with delicious berries and served with maple syrup from Vermont, the home of delicious maple goodness. I'm not a Vegan, but my allergies to dairy and egg make Vegan food incredibly appealing and Vegan breakfast is tricky to do well. In my group of 6 non-Vegan friends, there was not a disappointed belly to be found. I would have given Poco 5 stars except that it was super warm in the restaurant and the water was tepid. A cooler clime would have been the ticket here, after all, no one wants to be sweating it out while eating America f*#k yeah pancakes. FANTASTIC! Healthy Mexican food that is all vegetarian. We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I went with a burrito with mole chick'n(read vegetarian chicken), black bean, brown rice burrito. The mole sauce was excellent and the portion was more than I needed, and well worth the price. It is all outdoor seating, mostly covered, and located in a small, very well decorated, alley way. The service was very friendly. Not only is the food delicious, healthy, and exquisitely prepared, but it's become my entire social hub. Inside and outside both feel like home, and they often have wonderful musical events. I seem to be only one of many who never leave the house but to go to Poco, so I get to see people I know and like whom I've rarely seen over the years. Best! My Wife and I were on vacation in Tucson and went to check out Bisbee and Tombstone for the day. Saw a flyer on the street and checked it out on Yelp! crazy-good reviews and we decided to check it out. So here is another crazy-good review. The ladies that run this place are awesome, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was some other good A' word.
