Our new home with Fulton Homes was recently completed. We had met with Leon Orgel, last year to help us design our front yard landscaping. We wanted very low maintenance plants, bushes, small tree. Do you want landscaping that lives and a watering system that works? Do you want your calls answered? Do you want a timely response to requests or questions? Do you want ANYTHING you paid for to matter? Then DO NOT go here. Don't. I can't imagine why Fulton Homes, a company I respect and am happy with, has referred us to such a horrible company. At the onset, I should have checked Yelp or any review. That's a mistake I'll never make again. If I could take out full page ads, and hang banners everywhere, warning against giving them any business, I would. The COVID situation made it all slow and no doubt suppliers and manpower a real problem, but that reason has NEVER been offered by them. Instead, NOTHING is the answer. No return calls. Email replies that promise response and nothing happens. Save yourself grief and frustration. There's no way to give a minus star, but I would give them a minus two. After looking at the problem together, he offered to correct the problem and said when its done you shouldn't have any more issues. The worst! They had 1 guy, that's it put in my front yard along with pavers. God bless the man but one guy! Mistakes were made which intern leads to constant phone calls to have the job done correctly! 2 years later and I'm still on the phone trying to get my tree supported correctly. They planted a red pistachio without any support! I was told they would. Do it right the first time! FYI every tree within 5 miles of me have support but mine! Not happy! read more

I wouldn't give any star rating but in order to give a review I have to give at least one (1) star, but note it's only because I have to give one. I am currently still awaiting plants for my new build front landscaping that I closed on back at the end of April 2017. As of today Poco was supposed to fix my irrigation valves, leak on the main line and replace five (5) dead plants. They have been a "no show" three (3) times for warranty work. I have since fixed the valves and the leak myself and requested from the builder to have Poco leave five (5) living plants on my porch which I will plant myself due to I don't want them touching my landscaping, they are a "no show" for leaving plants as well. I thank the Lord that I did not pay for a upgraded front landscape nor back landscaping. They should not have a contracting license!!!!!!!! read more

Don't use them. We did a new build through Fulton (Closed in Dec, 2019) and Poco Verde is their provider for additional hardscape. They were zero help with design. Once we laid out what we wanted I literally had to lay it out in paint with measurements because Rhonda kept getting it wrong. It was like 20 emails back and forth. She never told us our design was closer to the house than advisable...she just attached a waiver for us to sign that we were having something dangerous built. We refused to sign it and decided to move it. Would have been nice if we had been given that advice earlier. I was hoping to be able to lean on some expertise to help us put our yard together but that didn't happen. She spent barely 15 minutes with us and said whatever we wanted was fine. I wish I had done more research because we literally paid triple what it would have cost us to do it through someone else. On top of it Rhonda contacted us the week before move in to inform us that the travertine we had selected for our built in grill was unavailable and tried to tell us that unless we went with a (literally) home depot option as a substitute our key date would be delayed. (This was not true) None of the colors they offered up were even close to what we had initially selected. We tracked down the local supplier and contacted them directly and caught Poco Verde in the second lie. They had never even placed the order. It could be made available within 24 hours. Our countertop was relatively small so this tells me this sort of dishonesty is cultural for the company and matter of course on their projects. They only stood to save a couple hundred dollars on materials. We had them put in a built in grill, turf border and step pads. The grill was late, they lied about the supplies until cornered, and then the job they did was unprofessional. My six year old could have done a better paint job. The doors were bent, the vents damaged, missing paint, running paint, and they didn't bother to mask the pavers or the travertine countertop and tagged all of the above with paint. The step pads were put in wrong (25 pads in stead of 30 and staggered five feet the wrong direction. The turf border was two months late and they aligned it with the incorrectly installed step pads rather than going off of the design and had to rip out and redo that as well. Throughout all of it communication was non-existent. We never even knew if they were coming back until they would randomly show up. If we had the option to have cancelled our project with them we would have. But because it was wrapped into the build process and had already closed there was no way to do it. I would never in a million years use them for anything again. Overpriced, unprofessional, unresponsive and not trustworthy. Do yourself a favor and go with someone (anyone) else. Editing to add that if you do a search in our neighborhood FB group for Poco Verde you will come up with countless warning posts to stay away from them. A new member generally gets told welcome to the neighborhood and stay away from Poco Verde! Horrible customer service, overpriced, poor workmanship, lack of follow through. Seriously wish we'd seen that information before signing our hardscape addendum. I can only hope their abuse of their customers eventually results in Fulton dropping them as a vendor. Updated to add: After consulting a couple of other companies to finish the backyard - it has become clear we are going to need to rip out everything that was done and start over. The design assistance we asked for and didn't receive made the overpriced/poorly done work a complete waste of time and money. Not only was it insanely overpriced and the workmanship poor - but the placement was entirely impractical. Some design expertise and assistance was needed and what we asked for in the process. It was non-existent. The amount of money and time we wasted with by working with Poco Verde is disheartening. read more

If I could give negative stars for this company I would. We had a work order set a month ago for the sprinkler system for our plants in the front yard. We had a time window set for 8am-11am. Nobody showed so we called at 11:30. The lady on the line calmed the landscaper ran into a landscaping emergency. What the hell does that even mean??? He is not a doctor! Needless to say she said he should be here in about a hour which would make it 12:30. It is now almost 4pm. My husband called around 3pm and spoke with a man that was pretty much useless. He said all he does is transfers calls. Sent him to a voicemail and we have never received a call back. Extremely disappointed with this company they shouldn't even be in business! They don't show up when they say they will. They do shabby work at best. Our builder Ashton Woods used them, but then dropped them because they are so horrible. If you are going to use them, get used to taking lots of days off from work as they will first schedule to come out and see what they messed up. Then schedule a repair for another day. The day the repair is supposed to be, they will verify they it need to be fixed and schedule another day for repair. Repeat these steps until you've missed about 6 days of work and they will have done what they say is a repair. Then you'll get a quote from someone else to fix it right, just to find out that you've over paid for horrible services in the first place. read more

Let me start out with the initial contact. They are really quick about getting the estimate to you and once you pull the trigger they have you scheduled within that week or the following they show up everyday until the project is complete and the coordinator shows up twice a week to over see all projects. If you have any changes or want to add to your plan during construction they are excellent on adapting to it right away. If plants died during construction they replaced them next day! The follow up after they complete the job is THE WORST. We have had plants die and die over and over again since construction stopped. While they were building the backyard if something does it was replaced next day. Our project finished a month and a half ago and two of our trees died and a plant died and it's been like PULLING TEETH to even reach them. We paid a log of money for a very nice back yard and built in BBQ. And they can't seem to uphold their end of the bargain. There is a 90 day warranty on all plants and as we approach it they seem less enthusiastic so make it right with us. We've sent emails and left voice mails. At this point I just want a refund on the dead trees and plants and I'll go the the local nursery and buy them. We know their plants THRIVE as our whole front yard came from them. read more

After seeing many homeowners unhappy with their new "Home Builder packages" which contracted with Poco Verde, I wanted to weigh in. I have hired Poco Verde twice for landscaping design and execution and have been beyond pleased with their expertise and quality both times! They did our original front and back landscape (we hired them privately and paid market price) and have since hired them to come back and add an outdoor kitchen, spa area, and recreation area with multi-tiered pavered patio elevations. Its beautiful. We get so many compliments on our yard. Poco Verde wasn't the cheapest, but they weren't the most expensive either. And when we pointed out something we were less than pleased with, they worked with us to correct the issue and assure our satisfaction. I have to say after reading all of the negative reviews we were hesitant to go forward with this company. We worked with designer Cody Tracy and he went above and beyond for us, we bought a new home and changed the design several times. Cody was always willing to work with us and gave great advice for our landscape as we are new to Arizona. We had a few plants and a tree that didn't make it and they were replaced very quickly. Overall it was a positive experience and we are very happy with the finished design. read more

I had a pool and landscaping done by Poco Verde. While there were several external factors going on in the world, Poco Verde had horrible communication and delayed work several times without letting me know, then they would show up unannounced at 530 AM even on weekends to complete work. When I attempted to reach the field coordinators about this they did not respond, then I complained about the lack of communication to Bill at the office and he complained about his own personal time, heat restrictions, and other things that had no bearing taking care of me as a customer and even cursed at me and threatened to have his crew leave the job site causing extended delays. This was a very negative experience that could have been completely avoided by the company honoring their commitments and communicating with me upfront. We had a pleasant experience designing our backyard prior to moving in, until seeing the quality of their work when we moved in. They didn't do any of the upgrades we signed on and our package included eight 5 gallon plants, however it looks like we have mostly 1 gallon plants. Not impressed with the customer service aftermath. The person that put in the yard and plants did good. However when I called to find out where the person was that was to come between ten and 2 to investigate why my watering system which was watering 3 to 4 times a day.... no one showed nor called. Also i had to call prior to confirm when they where to come out. I was never notified. They also input my information under the wrong person and they had to check the paper record to confirm i even existed. When I inquired as to where they where at 2:30 I waited a half hour for a response and I was told that they would call back within 5 minutes. I actually had to call then back and guess what went to a voicemail. When they called back they said two other situations came up in the mean time which apparently where more important then mine. So they said they came out and decided it was due to standing water from the rain. Funny thing is one it had not rained in two weeks. Second it was regarding the backyard. I was told they assessed the property, however I have a gate to the back yard which has a lock on it and two i have four dogs that would have alerted me to someone on the property, so clearly they never did come and fed me complete bull. I took the day off specifically to touch basis with them regarding the system yet no one ever showed up nor rang my door bell. I had a flood of water in my backyard unless I turned off the watering system. So now comes the time where I told them I would not be home on Saturday yet they still sent out a crew on Saturday to see what plants needed replacing. My fiance happened to actually be home when they came he told them which plants needed replacing... They returned Monday with new plants while we we're both at work. They replaced a plant with one that was more dead then the one they took out. Left the Gate open to our backyard left dirt on our rocks from up rooting one of the plants and I now don't have a watering drip to one of plants they replaced. They didn't even fully dig enough to fully place the plants in the ground. I have 4 dogs. If my fiance came in from one direction he would have never seen the gate open and would have let the dogs outside to pee and off they would have been down the neighborhood. I emailed these problems with pictures to a customer service Representative and his attitude was not worth a dam. He never even responded to me email I sent with pictures showing him the dead plant that crumbled add I touched it. I also called him at 945 in the morning speaking of what went wrong and have him an email address to reach me since I was not going to be available by phone and I heard nothing. I had to call on my lunch break at 2 to touch basis with him and he had to ask for my email again in order for me to send the pictures because he couldn't bother checking his voicemail. Nor did he reach out to me prior. I work in customer service and I'm very appalled at their work ethnic. Not acceptable. read more

We love our landscape re-model on our 30 year old house. Coming from the mid-west, we were not familiar with Arizona plants and needed help. Mandie Smith was great to work with and she patiently helped us through the care and feeding of all of our new plants and plan. We love the design and feel confident that we will receive the support we need after the project is done. The installation team was excellent and worked with us to make everything right. We worked with Rhonda for our design and she was very helpful. However, the installation was a different story. What should have taken 4 days actually took 6 weeks and 4 days. The installers rarely showed up on the days they were supposed to and NEVER came at the time they were supposed to. I had to place numerous calls to the supervisor who would then call the installers to "find out where they were". I would think the supervisor would be directing where the crew was supposed to be. Many others in our Meridian neighborhood have had similar experiences. I would recommend using a different landscape company. read more

We went with Poco Verde because they gave us the cheapest quote but had I known what a tremendous disappoint this whole experience would be, I would have paid more to work with a more professional company. They started 4 days late (after I had to call and ask what happened), ran out of rock (and didn't tell me, I had to ask why an entire side of our house was left empty) and then had the nerve to compliment their own work. This company came out 1 year ago and installed an irrigation system and landscaping at our newly built house. There was issues from the beginning. They did not follow design plan, tried to plant a 15 Gallon tree when we paid for a 24 Gallon Box tree. That being said, we had been telling them that there had to be a leak because our plants were dying and we kept seeing wet spots. After many phone calls and complaining they finally came out. When they came out and "inspected it" they assured us that nothing was wrong. Well conveniently after the warranty was up we had a full blown rupture of our poly tube line and front yard was flooded. This polytube is real cheap and flimsy, the wall on it is maybe a 1/16" thick, like I said cheap and flimsy. I called to see if they would come out since we have had previous complaints and the secretary said that we were out of our warranty and to hire a plumber. If you are looking for a reputable landscaper that takes pride in their work this is DEFINITELY NOT the company you want to hire! read more

Absolutely a disaster to work with. Hired them to do backyard landscaping including a large travertine patio, and a wall to contain our trash cans. Their workers were not supervised at all by Poco Verde. The wall when done was off by 4" from front to back in an 8' span. They had to tear it down and start over. The 2nd time it was straight but too short to completely hide the trash cans. They had to add another foot. A year later I find they also should have put a couple of airflow/water vents according to building code. The travertine patio when complete was not close to level. They sent a new worker out -- he took one look -- and said it had to be ripped out and completely redone. The redo went ok. But now a year later 10-15 of the travertine tiles are developing pits in them and turning to dust. I question whether they even used "real" travertine. Issues with shrubs/trees were just as bad. For instance, we requested 3 dwarf citrus trees, an orange, grapefruit and lemon. First try they planted 3 lemon trees! They replanted the correct varieties but then I noted 2 of them were full size trees (not allowed by our association). So, replanted a 3rd time. I wont even go into detail about the drip system they installed but suffice to say many problems. I strongly recommend not using this firm. As others have suggested you will have to supervise your entire project and even then you will not get get a decent end product. read more

My wife and I had a fountain and pergola done in our back yard by Poco Verde this year (2019) . While the end product turned out nice, the communication all the way through was horrible if non existent. There were delays and excuses through out the whole project .We gave a 50% deposit in March yet the project did not start til mid June and was completed in mid August (after we were told it would be a couple of weeks to complete the job). The follow up and progress from them was very poor. The workers doing the work were nice and did good work however they had to come a few times to complete things because the lack of communication from their bosses. She worked with me quickly to nail down a design that would work for me and meet my needs and they started the work about 1 week later. I had gotten other bids and found their pricing to be competitive too. They showed up daily, finished on time, and I was happy with the finished product. However I did receive an email from Rhonda at Poco Verde which was great. I thought I'd be able to actually speak to someone. She also never got back to me. It's email. You can pull it up on your phone. At first I thought it was just a mistake but when two different people at the same company make a point not to get back to a customer.... That's an Issue. I would STEER CLEAR of this rude and uncaring company. Customer service? It's a joke. I had a house built and the builder had the front yard landscape completed through Poco Verde. This is the second house I have built and let's say the experience left much to be desired. I started with getting the plan drawn for the yard, this was an experience. The plan was sent back and forth several times. When I advised them I had a gate on both sides of the house I was met with rudeness and a snotty "Your plan does not have this on it." The builder provides these to the landscape company, this was not my mistake. After going back and forth I just drew on the plan and sent it back so it was the correct way. Once our house was complete it came time to get the rock, plants and irrigation (drip system) installed. The rock was delivered along with boulders. I did not order boulders, I ordered river rock for a river run. I called and told them this and they stated they would fix it. The irrigation was put in and the rock sat in the roadway. I called and was promised several installation days, and those days came and went with the rock still sitting in the roadway. The plants were delivered and they asked to put those in my backyard. So in my backyard they sat, for days, without being watered. I called and spoke with the company again and the female I spoke with was very nice. She told me the crew would be out to get the rock installed. When I asked about the river run and getting rid of the boulders she stated they were out of the river rock and they were ordering more. After several promised installation dates the rock and plants were put in. The wrong plants were put in. Again I called and they stated they would correct this problem. They brought more plants out and switched the old ones out for the new ones. This would have been great, if Poco Verde would have brought the correct plants this time, but they did not. I did not want to deal with this again so I fixed it with getting my own plants and putting the correct ones in. I started to notice big water spots in my yard and only at watering time. The ground always seemed to be wet. I submitted a warranty request and Poco Verde ended up sending out a worker who came out and looked at the yard. He did not dig to see if the line was broken or leaking. He stated, "This is not our problem." Really? I never had water issues before you put the irrigation in, so I know it's not another issue, it has something to do with the irrigation. The worker (installer) was rude and the conversation escalated until it was no longer worth talking with him. I had the builder's customer service come and look at the issue. They dug up the area, because they saw this was abnormal as well. They saw the line was intact and believed Poco Verde was watering the plants too much when THEY set the initial watering schedule. This could have been taken care of by just saying this instead of "This is not our problem." So the builder was more knowledgeable about landscape than the landscaper. I called and spoke with the manager at Poco Verde who was just as uncaring and seemed to think it was unreasonable to believe his worker would say this and I was unreasonable for thinking this was an unacceptable way of doing customer service. Ultimately the call to the manager did not change anything and showed me this is standard operating procedure for this company. You get what you pay for, and in my opinion and experience, I would use a company with a better attitude and cares about the customer after the job is completed. read more

I'm with Deb F., I didn't want to give any stars either, but you have to. If you need to use Poco Verde Landscaping for your project, please reconsider your choice. I didn't have a choice because they were the company that our developer uses for landscaping/irrigation. Since my wife and I moved into our new house on Aug. 21, I had to have them come out and repair a broken valve manifold. Now, our developer does the scheduling and it took three times to get them to come out. The first two wasn't that they were late, but they were NO SHOWS in the time frame. The third time they finally made it. Now, I asked that they come out and look at the front yard that not only is the tree they planted looks like it is dying but it looks like there is a broken irrigation line. I also turned off the controller to System Off yet it stills water. Controller must be faulty. Anyway our developer scheduled them for this morning Nov. 16th between, 8-12. Guess what? They never showed up. Totally unacceptable. Again, if you need a landscaper, think again before choosing Poco Verde Landscaping. It's just not right for a business to operate like this making clients wait and wait and never show up. Thank you listening. read more

This is only the second time I have written a review online. The service/product has got to truly impress me. I worked with Gretchen Jacobs from Poco Verde in designing and picking trees/plants for our backyard. She did an awesome job and stayed on top of things. Justine who works in the office kept the communication lines open and would direct me to the correct person I needed to deal with when I had a question. Their landscaping crew is top notch. They were on time, friendly, and their cleanup was impeccable. Would definitely recommend Poco Verde Landscape for landscaping. read more

** Unless you are comfortable wasting 18,000 gallons of water per month, stay away from these people -- Their quality of work is low and their customer care is worse! *** Poco Verde was hired by my builder (Meritage Homes) to install my landscaping and drip system -- I had no say in that... The plants and quality of installation was sub-standard, but that is not why I am unhappy with them. It is the drip system they screwed up! The short of it was that the drip system they installed for me and several neighbors never worked right. They came over a few times to look it over and presumably check things out, but the answer has always been "This is normal. All the wetness that you see is normal -- It is condensation". What I realize now is that they were just "riding the warranty clock". Last month I got a water bill for 18,000 gallons (!!!!!!), so I started to check all the drip lines myself... Sure enough, they were running constantly even when the system was on off! Of course, now the warranty period is over and they refuse to fix it. They want the builder to pay them, and the builder refuses to. Stay away from these people -- Their quality of work is low and their customer care is worse! read more

We hired Poco Verde Landscaping almost a year ago to design & landscape our backyard. Gretchen was our designer, she was so wonderful to work with (we still keep in touch). She listened & heard our ideas for the yard, added her expertise & we are loving our outdoor space to this day!!!! We did have 3 other landscape businesses come out for a design plan & bid, not one hit the mark. They either didn't see our vision or hear the budget we put in place. The only reason I am giving Poco Verde 4 stars instead of 5 is that there were a couple of scheduling glitches that were weather related. They certainly couldn't do anything about the weather, however they could & should have communicated. I was the one who had to make the calls & was passed on from person to person until someone had information. We are now considering having the front yard redesigned & landscaped (from the builder bland). Poco Verde & especially Gretchen will be the ones hired to do the work. read more

Well here I am staring at the pile of mud in front of my house while I look down the street at my neighbor who moved in 2 months after us at his lovely landscaping. They were in charge of the landscaping at our new build. They did a terrible job at the sales appointment (I knew more than the sales guy about pretty much everything, and I'm no landscaper) and it has been downhill since. Of the 10 plants they installed, they only got 2 of them correct. I asked them to fix 3 of the incorrect plants (of the 7), and only 2 were corrected. A month later, I'm still trying to get them to correct their own errors. It's not that hard to pick out the correct plants and stick them in the ground. read more

Poco Verde has been the most negative experience I have ever been thru with a landscaping company. He will nickel and dime you and never come out to look at the project.
