Went here on a Saturday right around opening and it wasn't busy at all. My drink came out quickly and the person working was very helpful. They were out of a couple of drinks when I was there but they still had the one I wanted to try. Also parking is kind of a pain but the inside of the boba place looked cool. I got the Green Grape Tea with Agar Boba. The Green Grape Tea had a nice balance of sweet and tart! Having the Agar boba in the drink was also a nice addition too! Ahhhh this might be my fave boba spot in Buena Park??? Parking SUCKS cus it's right next to a gym -.- but I swear the drinks are so worth I got the Korean Pear Slush with rice cake mochi which was SO FREAKIN GOOD.. literally 10/10 I absolutely luv Korean pear so I had to get it ofc and it was srsly so delicious. The rice cake mochi was a game changer cus I'm not a huge fan of boba but I will die for mochi so I immediately had to get that as a topping. Jumping in with a poppin' and vibrant aesthetic, I would easily say that this is one of the hippest and vibe-ist places you could visit especially around La Mirada AND Gardena! I finally stopped by during business hours, it opens at 12! Also the parking situation was baffling. There are about 10 spots right in front of Podong, but each small business has 2 assigned spots and they also fill up quickly. I had to go further in and find an open spot in the Gold's Gym lot, and then walked for a minute. Two staff inside greeted me and answered my questions about the menu. I ultimately selected the Korean Pear Slush. In a warm and sunny day it was light and refreshing. It's an ice blended drink with pear juice, some pear puree, lemon juice, and a slice of lemon. There is no extra syrup, so the sweetness comes from the pear juice and puree. Sweetness was reasonable as made, though I could see it being 75% and still good. I asked about the l Blackened cookies and cream milk, which has black sesame and peanut powder inside for the 'blackened' aspect. I am interested to return and try that. The Taro Milk Tea is a misnomer, since it has not tea and is just a taro milk drink. Additionally the taro is from a powder, so I am likely to try other menu items before this. read more

Stopped by for a refreshing drink because the photos of the menu on Yelp had so many options that I wanted to try! Unfortunately, the menu totally changed since the photos that I looked at were taken. They seasonally change their menu!!! That being said I took forever trying to decide what I wanted, a lot of the fruity drinks were fruits that I didn't really like. But the server I had was so nice and helpful in offering me recommendations! Anyways, I went with the safe bet and got the Mango Fruit Blast which was a mango slushie kind of drink. It was a basic choice but it was actually so good! Very refreshing for a hot day and the mango flavor was there without being too sweet! There aren't many places that have chestnut drinks so I definitely wanted to try this and added the Seoul rice cake as the add in. On a weekday, it wasn't busy so my drink was made quickly. We came around 6pm and it wasn't crowded! I love the vibes here and the music that they play. It's a pretty good spot to catch up with friends because the music wasn't playing too loud. My friend and I ordered the Korean pear slush and it was refreshing and not too sweet without having to adjust the sweetness level! However, my other friend ordered the green grape sparkling ade and she said it was on the sweeter side. Probs would be best to adjust the sweetness if you get that one. I've always seen this place on TikTok or IG, so I'm surprised it's not as popular right now? I visited on a Monday night and it was not busy at all. The vibes here were really interesting, its street, but also vintage, and their logo is a turtle lol. Seeing the menu, they have very interesting flavors for a Korean boba shop! I was a bit skeptical at first and assumed that these would be extremely sweet drinks, but I went with a safe option as many people (according to Yelp) seemed to like the Jeju Hojicha Milk Tea. I also checked-in for a free topping so I got the injeolmi cream top, don't forget to check in! There seems to be only one worker who is the cashier and bartender, so be patient with your drinks! I got my drink then taking my first sip from top for the injeolmi, it's actually very subtle. I wish the injeolmi cream top was a lot more thicker, but it tasted just like a very thin layer. The flavor was good tho! Then trying the milk tea, it was actually a lot tastier than I expected! I really liked how earthy it tasted and the milk wasn't too heavy at all. It's in a plaza shared with Gold's Gym so the parking lot is always full and I circled for 10 minutes before finally deciding to follow someone leaving the gym and taking their spot. The inside is quite small with only 3-4 tables that were all packed with students on their laptops when I went on a Wednesday night around 6:30pm. They have 1 table outside but it was also taken. There's not really any other seating in this area so unless you come at a very dead time, expect to take your order to go. I ordered the taroreo shake after consulting with the barista and it was very good. She told me it was made with powder, which initially made me hesitant, but I'm glad I tried it anyway since I really did enjoy it. Was pretty empty inside when we came in. There is plenty of parking in this plaza where Gold Gym is. Ambiance is your typical boba shop with tables inside. They sell merch in one corner with a photo booth at the other corner. There is a gender neutral bathroom in the back for customers. Menu was pretty straightforward. We got: -Jeju Matchango ($6.45): basically mango matcha latte with a cream foam on top. It tastes mostly like mango with hardly a hint of matcha. No adjustments for sugar level (3/5) -Hanok ($6.45): matcha milk tea with injeolmi that had a cream foam on top. Tasted slightly different than your usual matcha milk tea but can't pinpoint the exact taste. The foam was pretty good. You can adjust the sugar level and it's base is oat milk (4/5) -Hojicha latte ($6.45): oat milk base and you can adjust the sugar level. Pretty good tea taste (5/5) They only have one size for the drinks. Staff was friendly and quick at making the drinks. ABSOLUTE W. After going to the original location, I was praying that they'd open one slightly closer to me and GOD HAS ANSWERED MY PRAYERS. Similar to the other location, this one also has a very 90's (?), grunge (?), analog media-esque aesthetic to it (think of a music video I suppose). I love the vintage gas station signs that they have here and the wall of TV's playing random video shorts such as scenes from Poke'mon and Totoro. There is a point system with your phone number, but my friend has a stamp card, so I guess there is the best of both worlds. I got the Banana Savannah with less ice and with reduced sweetness and IT WAS SO YUMMY !! Good amount of creme brulee swirled at the side of the cup, real banana at the top, and even at a reduced sweetness, it was still a delicious drink. I was struggling so hard not to inhale the entire thing in one go. Tastes like a delicious banana horchata if I had to compare it to anything. This spot has been on my list to try for a while now and I was so glad that I finally got the chance to stop by! Podong is a uniquely Korean inspired boba shop with some of the most interesting drink concoctions. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots and you can find it next to the Gold's gym. Once you walk in, you'll be greeted by a modern nostalgic street style type of interior. They do a great job of juxtaposing nostalgic and retro themes with modern and streetwear ones. As for their drinks, they have such a variety to choose from. Wifey and I opted for the Korean pear slush and the injeolmi slush and both were super refreshing with flavors uniquely Korean. We visited a Smoke and Tiger location and they were really lacking on the Jeju Hojicha so luckily Podong Seoul redeemed my thoughts of Jeju Hojicha. As for my partner's drink the Sweet Rice, we were surprised of the taste. To me it reminded of a Milkis, but almost has that oomph like a tea. I really like the vibe of PST. Its a great little hangout spot in the area. If I am not mistaken, there really isn't much bubble tea shops, but Podong still sets itself as a different boba shop with its aesthetic and Korean-inspired drinks. I've only gone once (so far) and tried out their Podong Milk Tea. It was good; I felt like it was more tea forward than creamy. I'll be trying another one of their drinks on my next visit. Podong Milk Tea with Mochi (50% sweetness and regular ice): Podong reminds me of a combination of milk tea and white rabbit cream. 50% is perfect amount for average sweetness. This drink is caffeinated! Wasn't a big fan of their mochi, was pretty starchy and it breaks down really easily. Slight update: Been here 3x now and tried 7 different types of drinks. I think they have super unique Korean flavors like injeolmi, black sesame, and hojicha. However, my friends and I agree that the flavors/teas are less potent than we'd prefer. For me, I think it would be better if the sizes were smaller with more potent drinks (specifically the matcha and the hojicha), or if they added more matcha/hojicha to get that deeper green color. Overall, pretty solid new boba shop, a bit on the sweet side for me but I'll probably adjust to 25-50% next time. :) Loved loved loved the interior and so much thought and time in every detail in the design. I never realized that I did not leave a review for Podong Seoul Tea despite coming here so often. Podong is so delightful in both drink flavors and interior aesthetic. It has the vibes of "Anti-Social Social Club", but if it was mixed with city pop and grunge. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, but it's a really cute aesthetic inside! They even have a functioning photo booth for you to check out. They offer unique Korean flavors in drink form, like chestnut milk or injeolmi shakes! I got their strawberry yogurt blast with boba today and it was really delicious. Stopped by here today and here's my reviews: Drinks: Seoul Taro Milk - has a crème brûlée mix with the drink so even adjusting for the sweetness and the taro, the drink will still be very sweet. It's good if you're a fan of taro and crème brûlée drinks (or have a massive sweet tooth in general). It was a bit too much for me, but I still enjoyed it since I didn't think it was overpowering. Milk tea - my friend's order! She enjoyed it and said it was pretty good, but nothing she hadn't had before. The boba was fresh: warm and chewy. Had a good bite to it! Staff offered to remake my friend's drink if she found it to be too sweet (she told them ahead of time she doesn't like overly sweet drinks). I didn't ask about the taro drink since I knew it would be sweet. Parking is abundant, but you might struggle to find super close parking. Staff is great and the storefront is cool. Someone actually asked about buying the clothes they sell in there. Not a ton of seating, but good spot to catch up with someone and i'd say a good spot for a casual first date. I came by here on a Saturday afternoon and I really love the aesthetics of this place! The ambiance is such a nostalgic Korean cafe feel, it was really cute and nice! My boyfriend got the Seoul Taro Tea, and he adjusted the sweetness however, it was still sweet. The drink itself was still warm when he drank it, which is why I docked off one star, he had to take off the lid and mix it for a while for the drink to reach to a cold temperature with the ice inside. So happy I stumbled across this place! There's not many boba places near La Habra so I'm happy this opened. My boyfriend and I circled around the plaza twice before realizing it's the store with the "Cleaners" sign. They currently have a 15% off coupon but you have to show them a flyer to apply it. My new favorite boba spot. I love the unique Korean-inspired drinks. My favorites are the sweet rice milk tea and blackened cookies and cream. The sweet rice milk tea is made with shikhye and jasmine tea; it's so refreshing. The blackened cookies and cream is basically black sesame oreo brulee. I also really enjoy the hojicha milk tea and strawberries and creme. I usually get my order with light ice and either 25% or 50% sweetness. For the creamy brulee drinks, 25% sugar is perfect for me. For lighter drinks, I get 50% sugar. Note that if you order light ice, they don't top it off so there is a gap between the cup rim and the liquid level. The drinks are on the pricier side, but I keep coming back because of the quality and uniqueness of the drinks. If you have a feeling you're going to go back, don't forget to get a punch card. You can get a free topping after a few drinks, 50% off after a few more drinks, etc. Service here is always prompt and friendly. The first time I went, I accidentally dropped my drinks after a few sips, and they spilled everywhere at the parking lot (including on my dress and on my car). The staff was kind enough to make me new drinks free of charge. I love this place. It may be a little tough to find parking right by the shop, but it shares a parking lot with Gold's Gym and other businesses. I always try to get something different because i love to try their seasonal flavors; this time around i ordered their Chestnut Milk with Seoul Rice Cakes and my partner ordered Green Grape Blast with Lychee Jelly. Chestnut Milk was super super yummy! That being said, I do have a HUGE sweet tooth and found this drink on the sweeter side (be aware that sweetness level cannot be adjusted for this drink). It's a very rich drink that is ice cold, but somehow makes you feel like you're getting a warm hug. It's very rich and very full. Green Grape Blast was such a refreshing treat. It was tart, sweet, and cold! Definitely recommended to drink with Aloe or Lychee Jelly. I will always find myself coming here if they're open for a dessert after dinner. Always wanted to check Podong tea in Gardena but I was never in the area so was happy they opened one closer to home! I got the Korean pear slush and it was so refreshing on these hot summer days. The employee recommended 75% sweetness and it was perfect. There's some seating inside but not too many (I can see it getting crowded on the weekends). There's also no sign yet so it's where it says CLEANERS haha Parking is a bit difficult in the plaza cause it shares with the gym but worth trying it out once for yourself! read more

Stopped in on a hot day looking for a refreshing drink. I ordered the Hallabong sour with lychee jelly and my sister had the Green grape fruit tea. They were both super refreshing but the Hallabong was my favorite, perfectly sweet and tart. I'll have to stop by again before my trip ends. Establishment was clean and had enough seating. I heard lots of great things about this place from my friends so I decided to come here, it was a few hours until closing and they weren't too busy. Their menu is pretty limited compared to other shops but I prefer that because there's a lot more unique options and none of the ones I've tried so far have been bad! I also came during their promotional period of free photobooth pictures so that was really fun, there were lots of props to use. It's a super cute little place and the design is all very quirky and cohesive, very friendly service and the employees were very good at explaining some of the more unique drinks. The drinks came out pretty quickly and were all really good. My favorites so far are the korean pear slush and the sweet rice drinks, both taste exactly as expected and very non-artificial. The vibes of this place were so cute!! As soon as we stepped in, it was trendy and very aesthetic. So many cute photo opportunities! They also had the cutest photobooth (which was free!) and was such a cute bonus. The drinks we got were the Seoul Matcha (so creamy and delicious) and the Strawberry Milkis Tea (so fruity and light).
