I think 1 star is way to good. They tell you one price than your credit card get billed a different price. U-Haul has the same service and is a lot more reputable. They brought the POD to us on North Jersey and we had no problem with pick up and delivery. We moved to South Jersey and when I called to have my POD delivered I was told that they do not come down as far as my location. But they would do a 2 stop drop off to a location closed to me and then another driver would bring it the rest of the way and it was Hugo cost almost a $1,000. We went to the Franklin location and emptied it ourself. The service and person working in Franklin was very nice and helpful. But they advertise they go all over but that's not the case. read more

The worst. I ordered an 18 ft POD. They sent a 14ft POD. Then they called me 4 hrs before earliest pick up time to say they were coming, and it would take over an hour for them to arrive. I said ok, then they told me the driver couldn't do it because they cut back hours. As if moving isn't stressful enough. No one there knows what they are doing. The POD is in the street , and I've been on hold for 30 minutes so far. read more

these guys sent a pod out for delivery 4 hours before the time window, the driveway was not prepared, and they left. Customer service was unable to get a POD to my house, but continued to say that a pod would be delivered at 5pm, then 6pm and then 8pm, 9pm and 10pm. No driver was located, and no driver phone number was given. I am still waiting for my POD to be delivered, and they state it will be here Monday which is two days after the planned order, and actually the day of departure pickup. I am disappointed with the service this company as a whole provided both at the customer service level, as well as at the functional level. I cannot even reach the location at Franklin, and i believe that would make my life much easier to talk to the people who will drop my pod off. read more

Absolutely horrific company. The manager was horribly rude and had such a nasty attitude. On top of that when I asked for our pod to be taken out for us to unpack stuff from it we were given such a unprofessional response of "I'll get it when I'm ready". Once they had decided to get out our pod, they dumped it off the fork lift, which it landed in it's side and almost all our items were damaged in the process. Completely mortified by this. They gave an attitude of didn't care and walked away. My husband, son and I were upset beyond words describing. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE OR USE IT AGAIN. This Company is IMPOSSIBLE to get on the PHONE or in a CHAT online!!! They are NEVER available online and the phone wait is over 10 minutes! I finally got someone on the phone on Tuesday night 6/26/18 and made an appointment for Thursday 6/28/18 at noon, (today). Drove well over an hour to the PODS warehouse, and my POD was buried hours deep!!! They actually have a record of my call to make the appointment, but did NOTHING!!! Now I have to drive home another hour and come back tomorrow! What if I rented a truck, to pick up what I needed today? read more

Customer service- DUH?!?!!?!! As I write this, our stuff is still unexpectedly in storage, as our Short Sale Closing has been pushed back countless times..... we signed up w/ PODS in June, expecting to close August the latest... no luck on that. My mother in law told us she had a coupon for them- but my better half forgot to mention it, big OOPS... I want to stress the fact that NOW, ON THE HOME PAGE, is a link to "coupons". Do NOT miss that, because it could save you hundreds of dollars...we called a couple weeks after we signed up-of course too late- and they refused to back date our bill. The kid told us that even if we cancelled and re-upped, it was useless, we wouldn't save anything. This is almost unheard of in business, but regardless we got this bullsh*t run around and subsequent blow off. Now, the gentleman who ran the Franklin / Lafayette,NJ location was helpful and efficient ....He did our drop off personally, right on time, and was smart and helpful without being condescending. The drop off was smoothly executed, just like the many youtube videos we've seen-down left, down a little lower right, down left, down a little lower right.... like this \ -\--\-\-\ The pickup guy was 2-3 hours late, and a smoking, obnoxious know it all...., guess that is to be expected when you don't have an owner taking care of you!!! Our packed POD went up jerky jerky jerky-like a SeeSaw _ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / When we questioned it, OMG he said we did not know what we were talking about.....all I can say is hopefully our stuff is not in pieces.... The 1-800 people were great at selling us on the initial call- very helpful!!!! But when we called back with the forgotten coupon code they refused to acknowledge us, the coupon, or the unfairness. All PODS had to do was make good on the coupon they offer to everyone else, and (if our stuff isn't broken) we would have forgiven the other crap and been satisfied. But no- Now we are left with a bad taste in our mouths... Lesson learned. When we do construction on the house next year, we'll use a company who values their customers once they have them. We are a hairdresser and a contractor, respectively....and we can tell you- MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY!!!! The power of negative reviews is beyond strong. PODS would have fared much better with referrals from us had we been satisfied. I'm giving 2 stars instead of one b/c of the gentleman who ran the Lafayette / Franklin location...he was the saving grace but of course is moving from NJ to Florida. He even agreed to meet me one night late b/c he was there late waiting for a delivery. I wish I could remember his name and give him credit, because he knows how to take care of people. 10/26/14 I'm updating my review to add a star, because when we did finally move and had our PODS dropped off, it went without a hitch. We had to change dates a couple times, no problems. We expected to see everything broken into pieces when we opened it up, but thankfully, no drama. We spent way way more than we should have, still annoyed by that. However I must say, it was nice to have the PODS delivered to the driveway and unpack at our own convenience. read more

The company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever interacted with in my life. They lack the faintest hint of integrity and are wholly unprofessional. Do not ever do business with this company, you will regret it. If I could give zero stars I would. I emptied my pod at the end of summer 2017 and subsequently requested my account be closed; I had paid all my bills in full and had zero balance at the time of my request. Their representatives promised me on multiple separate occasions I would receive confirmation of my account closing via email. Then after my request to close the account, the company began sending me past-due balance notifications. I then followed up with their customer service multiple times and received similar promises that I would receive confirmation of my account closed status. Every promise made to by their representatives was broken. It was not until four months had passed that I was able to talk to one helpful person. She was able to send the confirmation I requested and finally after four months I received an email confirmation stating the account had been closed. read more

Do not use this company. I had a reservation made on June 18th, it was confirmed via email. 2 days before the scheduled delivery, PODS send another email, confirming the delivery day of June 28, anytime after 7am. Day of, Thrusday, June 28, I call the Customer Service line, they confirm , should be there btwn 12-3pm, 330pm, NO POD delivery. I call the customer service line again.. they tell me that there is no POD available today, and can not guarantee a POD till end of July. We canceled the order, we could not get a direct answer or resolution to this issue. We hired a local moving company that has storage available. I would think twice about calling a company that doesn't honor a reservation, esp when it's as important as moving out of your home. read more

Tom Letizia , was extremely helpful and informative and eased so much of my moving concerns and needs . THE worst possible way to move long distance is with PODS. They over charge, under quote and over bill, their cusotmer service department has hold times longer 30 minutes (probably all customer complaints). Its a scam, and they really should be regulated by the governemnt. They get your stuff and go silent on you...just sending more and more bills. I will do everything in my power to see that the AG gets ahold of my case and incident number, and that they are held accountable for their actions, so this doesnt happen to anyone else. Their delivery dates are at least two weeks off...just to stab you with more storage fees. read more

I set up a pod last week for a very important move on line. I was told there was a 3 hour window. Don't believe it ! 4 hours after the 3 hour window, still no pod. And CS is a joke, yes they say I'm sorry , but the 3 hours is only an estimate . asking for a manager does not help! The manager said to me very rudely , it's my fault for booking on line . Had I called in the order they would have told me the web information was inaccurate ! There tardiness cost me $400.00 in help sitting around waiting for someone that showed 5 hours late ! I am not a fan! They moved my stuff to a far away location, when I asked to have my stuff moved to the original closer location (Boonton, NJ), they refused. For weeks I asked customer service to have the people running the location call me, they promised me several times that I would receive a call, but I never received a call. When I complained about that, they said why speak to anyone there first, just go up there (???). When I made an appointment to visit my stuff in the far away location (Franklin, NJ), they did not have my container outside, and the sign on their own door said that they had closed three hours earlier - so I wasted a trip of over an hour long for nothing. Again after arguing with customer service about the location's hours (posted differently on their door than what I was told by customer service), I was finally granted a call by the location's manager, which was all I had been asking for in the first place. The manager gruffly refused to relocate my stuff to the original location, but said that they will honor future appointments - based on my experience, I'm skeptical. Total stress, total aggravation, total lack of respect, yet they still want to be paid every month. read more

Don't know how to make this reflect the PODS 800 service center -- because that is what I am reviewing. They ROCK it! Using PODS services has been a stress reducing experience. I had to schedule an initial POD delivery across country, then needed to load it --oops had to change the pickup date for the loaded container - boom - done easy as pie. Fast forward a number of months, and a multitude of various emergency events -- got a recorded message (actually a few of them) saying my delivery of my loaded pod was for tomorrow -- but hey -- recall those emergencies -- I am no where near the location for delivery... and today is a Sunday -- not a chance to get a live person to help me cancel the delivery and just hold the POD in storage -- SURPRISE - not only was their 866 number answered, but the gent who did answer -- made my change of delivery -- and was as pleasant as can be. Turned a stressful situation for me, into a walk in the park. Thank You PODS! Yes, they may be a bit more expensive that the other similar services...but for long distance scheduling they are TOPS! read more
