DO NOT HIRE GREAT MOVERS -- UNPROFESSIONAL, CARELESS, AND DISHONEST…read more On October 30, 2025, I hired Great Movers to remove and store heavy items from my property. Three movers arrived, led by a foreman named Steve. They were instructed to place the sofa and love seat in a designated dumpster area. During the move, the team used our bathroom while working in the bedroom. Shortly after they left, my daughter arrived home and immediately realized that her gold, diamond, and pink sapphire necklace -- a deeply sentimental graduation gift she'd worn almost daily for three years -- was missing. It had been safely in the bedroom that morning, and she hadn't worn it that day due to her outfit choice. We searched thoroughly. It was gone. I texted Steve immediately and asked for his manager's contact information. When he called back, I explained what happened. His first response was dismissive: "Great Movers isn't responsible for stolen items." No empathy, no concern, no sense of accountability. Over the next three days, I called the company multiple times and left messages for management (Saad or anyone in charge) -- not a single call was returned. Zero acknowledgment. As if that wasn't enough, I then received a call from building management saying the movers had dumped my furniture next to a pizza shop's dumpster, upsetting the business owner. I had clearly told them to place the items inside the designated dumpster area. When I called again, the dispatcher promised to contact Steve. Steve later claimed I "never said anything" about a designated area -- an outright lie. He finally returned to move the furniture to the proper spot, but even then, he set it next to the dumpster until I told him to put it inside. When I again brought up the stolen necklace, he was cold, sarcastic, and emotionless. I told him I would be filing a police report and that if the necklace was returned, there would be no questions asked. His only reply was to ask "where it was located." It is now November 5, and I have still received no response from Great Movers management. This experience has been deeply upsetting, not only because of the stolen jewelry and unprofessional conduct, but also because of the company's complete lack of integrity, accountability, and compassion. My advice: DO NOT USE GREAT MOVERS. If you value your belongings -- and basic human decency -- find another moving company. Great Movers = Great Disappointment.

For reference, Intense Movers moved me from a 1 bedroom 4th floor walk-up to a 2 bedroom over 100 blocks away. They showed up promptly at 9am and were done by 1pm. None of my property was damaged and they left no mess behind. Also, it's great to support small and local businesses whenever possible. Highly recommend.

I did think it was a bit strange that everything was done via email and there's really no other way of contacting them. That said, they were extremely responsive to email, which was fine. The movers themselves were personable and worked efficiently throughout the process, which I appreciated. Beyond that - there were issues. Firstly, the team arrived about 20 minutes late. I did appreciate the heads-up text, but on one of the most stressful days of your life, it's worth noting - especially as it was early in the morning. More importantly, I was under the impression that loading the truck was part of the service I hired Intense Movers to provide. Nope. Instead, that responsibility was completely handed off to my partner, who stayed with the truck while the movers brought items down for him to load. There was no discussion about this. In fact, it was initially suggested that I use only 2 movers but I requested another to be more efficient. I didn't realize that they assumed my partner was an unpaid 4th. Items with "this side up" stickers were completely disregarded. They brought everything down however they wanted to and handed them off to my partner however was most convenient for them. Also, a couple of guys who were not part of the moving team entered my apartment unannounced, to say hello to the movers. They did not clearly identify themselves, though it seemed like they may have been affiliated with the company. Regardless, having strangers invite themselves into my apartment during the move was pretty inappropriate. Lastly, when it came time for payment, you can only pay by cash or Zelle - which, to me, is sketchy AF. I had planned to send it via Zelle to their company account as instructed. However, the lead mover was insistent that I send the payment directly to him instead, saying he needed to pay his workers immediately. He was so insistent about it that it made me feel really uneasy. In the end, if I could do it all over - I definitely would have chosen someone else who was more professional.

SCAM! Do NOT use! BBB Complaint has been FILED!…read more We moved from NJ to NC in March & used VIP. Such a nightmare! We used other movers in the past & had great experiences, so I was shocked by VIP's lack of professionalism. They lied, demanded more money, misplaced parts of our furniture, & damaged many items. It is now August & I STILL have not been paid for hundreds of dollars worth of damaged items. We wanted a flat rate for loading, storing our items, & delivering them to our new house in NC. Diego came to our house to quote us a flat rate price. We agreed on a moving date & paid the deposit. On moving day VIP arrived 2 hours late for pick up; not a good first impression. After loading, Diego said there were more items than they thought & we had to pay more money. I couldn't believe it! There were less items in the house than when he came for the quote because I sold stuff before the move. VIP mentions on their website, voicemail, & when scheduling that they offer flat rate moves. This is a LIE! They made us pay hundreds more the day of our move. Drop off was scheduled for 5/8 at 8 AM. My husband took the day off from work. They never said the drop off date could shift after it was scheduled. On 5/7, Diego called & said drop off was no longer on 5/8. They loaded 2 moves on the truck & the people scheduled for 5/7 weren't available, so now their move was on 5/8. Since our stuff was blocked in by their move, they couldn't deliver our items till 5/9 at 8 AM. Instead of being apologetic, Mark gave attitude & said drop offs had a 5 day window. This was NOT advertised! At noon on 5/9 -still no movers- Diego called & now the movers would be there by 3. At 3 PM Mark said they would be there by 5. At 5 PM they said just another 30 mins. At 630 PM, 32.5 hours late, the truck pulled in. Mind you I have a baby that goes to sleep at 7 PM! When they finally arrived, it became clear that what we were told was a LIE. First, the truck came fully loaded. It was so full that they strapped MY BRAND NEW MATTRESS, large artwork, & cargo dolly to the outside of the truck. Our mattress was covered in dirt. Our artwork had puncture holes. There was never another move on this truck, so the delay from Mon to Tues was a total fabrication. Of the 3 movers, only 1 spoke some English. Communication was nearly impossible, a lot was lost in translation, so boxes (though color coded) were placed in the wrong rooms & in the most precarious way possible (giant boxes stacked on smaller boxes). I also noticed large items, wrapped by VIP, that were damaged. This included our Tv, brand new carpet cleaner, side table, lamp, decorative suitcase, antique baby rocking chair, queen bed frame, etc. VIP said if they disassembled something they would reassemble it. They only reassembled our kitchen table. Everything else (crib, art tables, baby jumper, chaise lounge, etc.) was left strewn about with pieces missing. I have furniture missing legs currently. Also the baby rocking chair was broken exposing a sharp piece of wood. This was placed in my son's room without my knowledge & my baby cut his finger on the exposed edge. They finished near 11 PM & the English speaker made it obvious he expected a tip. We tipped on loading day & that was supposed to be split among all the movers. When my husband made it clear there was no extra tip, this guy started asking about some of our belongings, hinting that we could give him those as a tip instead. It was an extremely uncomfortable situation. When I told Mark about the damage there was no apology or accountability. He asked for pictures which I sent. Then he said I had to file a claim through their insurance which I did. Mark assured me that we would be reimbursed for the damages. Welp a few weeks ago, I received notice that the claim can't be completed because VIP won't authorize payment. So I called & emailed repeatedly. It has been weeks & VIP will not respond. I wish I had never used VIP. Mark is the king of excuses; will promise you the world but deliver a dumpster full of your broken possessions. Don't move with this joke of a company!

We were supposed to have our things delivered by Aug. 3rd and we've. Been getting avoided and they've been non responsive to voicemails. We were manipulated to pay the balance (in good faith), under the assumption that all of our things were being delivered, only to receive a fraction of our belongings (damaged) delivered to us and the rest still in there possession in Jersey. Our 2 children started school and we were forced to re purchase things we already ordered for them so they could be prepared for school. Even after all of this my wife was immensely patient and understanding. But at this point we are taking it to the next level. Moving to a new home is supposed to be an exciting and enjoyable experience and hands down this has made our experience harder, unnecessarily expensive and emotionally draining. Bottom line they have breeched our contract, our money (that we paid in full) and our peace of mind. It's plenty of places to choose from don't choose VIP Moving & Storage Worldwide. Hopefully this save someone the headache we're going thru.
