I am extremely disappointed with PODS Moving & Storage. My POD was scheduled to be delivered on a specific date and time, and after waiting all day, the driver canceled after telling me he was already on the way. This completely disrupted our move. Because of PODS' failure to deliver as promised, I now have to reschedule movers that were already paid for, and family members traveled to help unload everything for nothing. To make matters worse, I am currently sleeping on the floor because all of my belongings are stuck in the POD, and my elderly mother now has to spend extra money on a hotel due to this delay. This situation has caused unnecessary stress, financial loss, and hardship for my family. Communication and reliability were extremely poor, and I expected much better service from a company handling something as important as a move. read more

We were told our pod, which had been sitting in the local warehouse 5 days, would be delivered on Saturday as planned. The timeframe was 7am-10am. Seven people planned for the day to help move my son and daughter- in- law move their belongings into their apartment. As the day wore on, the national contact told us repeatedly what the updated times were according to what the local warehouse was providing on the computer. The warehouse people reassured us it was out for delivery and the last estimate was now 2:30, next delivery. They never came. When the national people tried to call the local office they never answered the phone for them. Obviously, the local warehouse people took the afternoon off and lied all day. They never intended to make the delivery. So seven people wasted their day and now we have been scheduled for Monday when not everyone is available. The 30% discount doesn't seem worth it anymore! read more

Fill out basic information on there sight looking for a general ideal for cost from zip code to zip code (20 min) only to hit submit and in addition to the e-mail address I already provided you have to call them to get a basic quote. What's wrong with that you ask! They share your information even if you don't use them! read more

If you read the reviews, you'll see this one company you should avoid and IF you decide to still use them, definitely avoid this location at Romulus, MI. What can I add that hasn't already been said in the other reviews? The employee at this location wanted to close early so he could run a personal errand which he shared with us, so he pushed my elderly parents to help the movers they hired so they could finish faster so he could leave work more than 30 minutes early to run his errand. The following day, someone from this location called to ask about our POD container and the status, which struck me as odd since it was apparently fine and good to go the day before with that particular employee. I expressed my concern that perhaps their tracking and logging might be incorrect and to verify but he kept assuring me that it was all good to go, despite calling me the day after. Fast forward two weeks and one reschedule, they call less than 24 hours notice that our POD that was supposedly in transit, was possibly still at the facility in MI and was not in fact on its way to be delivered in CA. Apparently their national updates are not accurate as the only reason they even knew there was an issue was the local facility where it was being delivered to notified them that the container was not there to be delivered the next day. They still cannot tell me where my POD is and when an incident report was filed and assigned to someone, that person would not return ANY voicemails or calls, nor respond to any email questions despite stating clearly in their email that they are available at their direct line for any questions and/or concerns. This is a company that does not stand by their services and will go out of their way to make things worse when you try to find a remedy. My POD is still missing and still trying to be located. Putting aside the inconvenience of having to take days off of work because of this debacle and rescheduling movers and losing deposits because they kept rescheduling and now have postponed it indefinitely because the POD is lost, we just want our stuff. I will say one humorous thing is they keep telling me it's not lost, however when I ask them where my POD is, they say they honestly don't know, which by my definition is lost. read more

My husband and I just had a HORRIBLE experience with PODS and I would not recommend anyone use them. We moved across the country and were given a quote, which is how we decided to go with this company in the first place. Once we gave them the location where we would want the POD delivered they said that it would have to be transferred between franchises and that would lead to additional costs. This turned out to be OVER $1,000 in additional fees that we were not expecting. They said it was because we were moving outside of their delivery zone, but we had explicitly told them the area we were moving to when we originally got our quote. They said they would review the calls but we would have to pay upfront and then there was only a small chance we would get our money back. We decided to get a U-Haul, drive to the POD location and just get all our stuff out. I feel like we were totally scammed. Beware the fact that each POD location is a franchise, and if you say that there was a mistake they'll just blame it on the other location and say there is nothing they can do. read more

Do not use this company..judging by the other reviews listed here it's standard practice with this company. Can't get your pod delivered because its out of their service area. Of course the sales rep does not inform you when you book the move, there is a chance of this. I filed a dispute..to date have not heard a word back from pods. I am sitting in my new home without my things. I am senior citizen and I cannot go to the warehouse and unpack the pod and move it myself. Now I will have to pay a lawyer just to get m things. read more

This place is a total rip off/ scam. They take your stuff and hold it hostage until you agree to pay more outside of your contract that you have with them. I filed a complaint with my credit union and got most of my money back. I left several messages with someone that takes care of complaints and never heard back from anyone. Save your money and pain and suffering that you will receive from dealing with this place. Poor customer service. I think they need to fired all the top management and start over. read more

Do NOT use this company under ANY circumstance!! After arranging a move for my father a WWII Veteran weeks in advance we hired PODS to deliver and pick up pods in a timely fashion. They failed miserably to deliver and pick up the pods in a timely fashion. Pods was 9 hours late delivering and picking up. We had well orchestrated a moving plan and had movers scheduled to load, but PODS was 9 HOURS LATE delivering the pod. Then the next day was supposed to pick up and pod and its now 2 DAYS later we are set to close on our home this morning and the pod thst was suppose to be picked up 2 days ago remains in front of our old home. I contacted company and they dont do refunds and informed me that the 3 hour delivery window is ONLY an ESTIMATE. ITS THREE DAYS LATER!!! This company is untrustworthy and NOT reliable. read more

The entire reason I stored with PODS instead of somewhere else was so that I wouldn't have to move everything myself when changing apartments. I was just informed that PODS doesn't service my new zip code in the same city, so I was just charged an extra $100 per month of storage to have to have to move myself in the end. This service is entirely pointless and just charges you an exorbitant extra fee while not offering the service they advertise. USE A DIFFERENT STORAGE SERVICE! read more
