This is the best kept secret! Not your typical bar food. The chef is incredible, I love the fun speciality drinks as well.

This isn't typical bar food. Affordable 5 star food without pretentious vibes Handicap accessible, dart board and touch tunes!

This is one of my favorite local spots so I have been quite a few times. The dry rub wings are my go to and I love their fries as well. My friend came once and ordered the chicken sandwich and has said it was one of the best she's had. Overall the food is good and decently priced. The place isn't usually super busy and service is typically quick.

The jalapeño popper burger was great and the fried pickle appetizer came with a lot. It was a convenient place to go before the Orpheum!

Best bar food in MN! Cheese curds are best out there even to state fair. And their burgers are incredible. One of my most visited restaurants in MN. My friends and I love this place

THEY ARE BACK!!! This location had their grand RE-opening earlier this month and out of all of The Bulldogs, this one is my favorite. The atmosphere is lively on the weekends and chill on the week days. You can tell people really enjoy coming in at anytime of the day. The staff is extremely friendly and personable. I alway appreciate the conversations and attentiveness of the employees. They are the best. My go-to foods are the Bulldog Wings (dry rubbed with the Thai chili sauce is the best), and the Hand-Cut Fries (I highly recommend the truffle oil!). Whenever I bring my best friend to The Bulldog, and we order the truffle oil fries, that first bite puts a smile on our face. So good! Drinky Drinks! They have a wide selection of drinks! I love their Cherry Rhubarb Cider! It has a sweet and tart tang to it. They have a nice selection of hard seltzers too. I like the Florida Seltzer brand: Prickly Pear & Guava and their Blueberry. The Blood Orange Hard Seltzer is amazing too! They also have various beers on draft and in cans as well. If you are looking for a spunky, fun place to have a barrel of fun with you friends or just to kick back with a couple of drinks by yourself, The Bulldog Downtown is the place to be.

Bulldog is pretty much across the street from me and I wanted to try it out just to see if it's a good place to chill, grab a beer, and relax. It is! I went on a Sunday so it was pretty dead. It's a bit of small place, but they do have ALOT of TVs around the bar as well as two games of darts. NICE! The service was pretty good. The bartender/server was consistently filling up the water glass I did have. Tthe beer menu was surprisingly diverse considering the size of the place. Foodwise I ordered the 12 wings, half of the dry rub which came with Thaichili sauce, and the other half a flavor called Fear the Reaper that came with Cajun ranch sauce. The dry rub was just okay. Not super flavorful. The chicken meat was pretty quality though in both sets of wings. Full and meaty! The Fear the Reaper wasn't that flavorful either and actually not really hot (but I eat spicy food so...). The Cajun Ranch was really good with it though..!! Overall----Not a bad place.! Food was really meh, atmosphere was slow but it was Sunday. But it's quiet and convenient with a lot of TVs and a nice dart game setup.

I am happy that this place is within walking distance from my work. Having a few options around here is useful. I like the interior, it's dark, but with windows if you want to look outside. I happen to like my bars on the dark side, not to be confused with the dark side of the force. This place is not evil. I had a special where if you bought a hot dog lunch, you had a free beer. In my case, I had a Chicago Style hot dog with an Amstel Light. Food was portioned pretty well. I did not feel like a blimp when I left, yet I did not feel cheated out of food. I thought it was reasonably priced and had a good lunch. I have heard good things about the night scene and will try that out at some point.

WIIIIINGS!! Do yourself a favor if you already haven't and stop in for some wings. Seriously, I've had a burger, salad, soup, a hot dog, nachos, etc. But, I can say that nothing compares to the wings. I always opt out of the chili sauce and instead sub it for ranch. The beer list is decent. They have $4 PBR's, how can you go wrong? Also, they make most of their cocktails pretty stiff -- always a plus. My only complaint is the games that are usually on TV. The staff tries to accommodate everyone and will usually try and change the channel for you on request but it's not always the case. Sometimes one is in the mood to watch basketball or golf instead of watching the Twins get slapped around like a hood baby mama! Overall, Bulldog Downtown has a different vibe from its sister bars -- in a good I want-to-come-back type of way. Now go check it out.

4 Stars for Food, 2 Stars for Service This location is right across from my apartment and I wanted to grab dinner before the Twins game. I had heard about some really good food here and I was craving a burger. They have a huge variety of bar food and be aware, that every location of Bulldog has something different so your favorites may not always be there! My friend recommended the Hawaiian Volcano, a burger topped with bacon, grilled pineapple, jalapeño and smoke gouda. Amazing burger! It was a great combination of salty, spicy and sweet flavors, but be aware, I love spicy food and I could taste the fresh jalapenos. I would def. get this again! My friend got the Danger Dog, which is a hot dog, wrapped in bacon, deep fried and covered in cheese and onions. I had a bite and it was good, but it was a smaller portion and I think that the burgers are a better deal. Now to the service, I was so disappointed! The bar was 3/4 full and our waitress was so rude! She didn't want to answer our questions and gave us a lot of attitude. The food was brought out in a timely fashion but would it kill to get a smile here or there? Either way, the food was great so now I want to try even more of the burgers and also their cheese curds.

I am a big fan of Bulldog in NE because their food and drinks are better than the other locations. I heard they have different owners. This location is alright. I like their happy hour drinks though because it is cheap. Their food is alright, bar food. The staffs are friendly. Parking might be a problem since it is located in downtown. There is a ramp parking behind the building for 5 bucks.

I was a little concerned when I walked in, but I had heard good things, so I sat down at the bar. If you know anything about Happy Hour in Minneapolis, you know that most places fill up quickly with after work drinkers. The Bulldog Downtown was empty. I sat down and asked the bartender to recommend a beer and he looked at the taps and shrugged his shoulders he started listing the beers and I took a red IPA. I ordered the Humpty Dumpty burger while not feeling very good about my experience. The burger saved it. It was amazing. One of the best burgers I've ever had. I know it's kind of hard to mess up tater-tots, but those were also absolutely delicious. I'd go back for the food, but as a solo diner in town for business, the atmosphere is a little intimidating.

The interior has that classic vintage pub feel with lots of character and natural light. There are tons of booths and different seating areas that could accommodate parties of all sizes. I especially liked the glass dividers between some of the booths, which give you a little extra privacy without making the space feel closed off. My booth also had coat hooks and easy access to outlets, which I appreciated. I could definitely see myself coming here for a working lunch. My server was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially as I was trying to figure out how to use a couple of rewards I had on my account. I specifically came in wanting to try the fish and chips. Their lunch menu offers smaller portions of several dishes from the dinner menu, including a fish and chips option for around $15. I really wanted to try the walleye, though, so I ended up ordering the full dinner portion for around $28. The fish was absolutely the star of the plate. The breading was fantastic--crunchy around the edges while still light and fluffy--and the fish inside practically melted in my mouth. The tartar sauce was also really good and paired perfectly with it. The sides, unfortunately, didn't impress me nearly as much. There were plenty of fries, but they were pretty average, and the coleslaw was mostly cabbage with a light dressing. It felt like it was missing some acidity or lime to give it a little more personality. For almost $30, I also expected the meal to be a bit more substantial. I left satisfied, but found myself hungry again a couple of hours later, so I'm not sure the dinner portion felt worth the price for me. If you're mainly curious about their fish and chips, I'd probably recommend trying the smaller lunch portion first rather than committing to the more expensive dinner version. Would I come back? Absolutely--the atmosphere, service, and location alone make The Local worth another visit, and I noticed several other dishes on the menu I'd be interested in trying. I just don't know that I'd order this particular meal again. The fish itself was excellent, but for me, the sides and overall value didn't quite match it.

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Take a long moment to allow your eyes to adjust if you're coming before sunset; this space is DARK. It's also perfect. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Savory cocktails and friendly service will stand out and make you want to return. I know we'll seek it out if we return to Minneapolis again. I hope so.

It has Prohibition-themed decor, but I wouldn't quite call it a speakeasy, as there wasn't any guise to entering or accessing the space. My only critique is that the space is quite dated, but not in a cool way. It could really use an update to the paint and interior to maintain itself as a "destination" versus just another hotel bar with a view. The bartenders were quite friendly and helpful during our visit. We had an Old Fashioned and a Paper Plane during our visit! Both cocktails were absolutely delicious and perfectly made.
