My dad and I came here on a Friday night for a casual dinner and got seated right away. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and we went with the covered patio. Very lively, lots of kids and families around. more neighborhood hangout than date-night spot. We got the salmon sandwich and the chicken sandwich. Both were solid and really flavorful. The waffle fries were the standout, super seasoned and crispy, and I love that they come with your sandwich at no extra charge instead of being an upcharge like a lot of places. It's a whiskey bar too, so there's a big whiskey list, flights, and milkshakes if you want to make it more of an evening. The burgers get creative as well, Banh Mi, poutine, PB&J so there's plenty to come back for. Service was friendly and attentive the whole time. Would definitely come back. read more

You get what you come here for; fatty, greasy food. It's the place for a burger but an extra $3 to sub the impossible burger if you're a vegetarian. They did have a nice movie and dinner promotion where you get a free appetizer with your main course if you show your movie ticket for that day. Our server was friendly and our food came out pretty quick. The oyster mushroom fries were a bit bland and oily but again what I would expect from a burger restaurant. Situated in The Village at Totem Lake, this burger spot has a very casual vibe. We sat in the bar area and the bartender was pretty attentive during a slow lunch service. The menu consists of some very unique burger ideas, which seemed intriguing, but we opted not to try stuff like a Banh Mi Burger. All the the food we did order fell flat. I ordered the Stuffed Queso Dog. The queso was pretty bland and the hot dog was hard to eat because of how it was put together. My friend ordered the Three Pepper Bomb Burger. He said it wasn't spicy and was very lacking in flavor like it needed some kind of sauce to wrap it all together. The best part of this meal was the Shake of the Month, a Peanut Butter Banana shake. We came on the last Saturday of Seattle Restaurant Week and ordered two of their SRW menus - one with a starter and burger and another with a burger and a drink. The crispy brussel sprouts looked different than we were expecting since they were sliced and coated. They were very crispy and the bacon whiskey jam and kimchee puree paired nicely. The Ruston Mule was also yummy. The PB&J burger was delicious, the peanut butter was the perfect sweet/salty/creamy. The chicken burger was a bit sad as something in it tasted burnt and butter and the chicken was a bit dry and hard to chew so that was a bit sad. I was a little hesitant to try Stack 571 because the reviews were all over the place. A lot of people also complained about the prices, and honestly, I'm not sure what they're ordering. I had the Stack 571 burger, and it was under $20. I skipped a soda because I wasn't about to pay nearly $5 for a Diet Coke, but the burger itself felt reasonably priced. Now, the food... it was delicious. It arrived hot, packed with flavor, and was exactly what I want in a smash burger. Definitely one of the better burgers I've had in a while. I mean if you can't make your signature burger delicious, you should get out of the burger business. The service was what really stood out, though. I wish I had written down our server's name because she deserves the recognition (Young gal serving the tables along the wall at/around 5:30 on 7/31). She was friendly and attentive with us, but what impressed me most was how she handled a situation at the table next to ours. A young woman was ordering a third alcoholic drink without having eaten anything. The server gently suggested she order some food because she was concerned about her driving later. It wasn't awkward, preachy, or judgmental in the slightest. It came across as genuine concern for her customer's well-being, and I thought that said a lot about the kind of person she is. Would I go back? Absolutely. And that's saying something because I usually avoid that part of Kirkland these days--it's just too crowded. We were late to Silverlake Ramen and they were closed. We needed some food and Stack 571 was still open. Yay! We walked in and was greeted right away. The staff is great and nice and attentive. We ordered the stack 571 burger with waffle fries, Black and Blue with waffle fries and the Poutine burger with regular fries. My son also ordered a strawberry shake. I have to say the Strawberry shake had real strawberries in it and it's one of the best shakes I have had. Definitely recommend. The burgers were great but a little on the salty side. The waffle fries are seasoned and also a bit salty. The flavors are there but if they cut down the salt just a touch it would be perfect. I hope next time I can give it a 5 star rating. Went on Friday 7/10 for a late dinner after the rush. Sat at the bar. See the uploaded photos. The $20 burger I received had a patty about the size of a fork head. Embarassing that a patty this small that this made it out of the kitchen. Regardless of the patty meat mix or if it's intended to be a smash burger (not sure), this is the smallest burger patty I've seen outside of a McDonald's basic hamburger. French fries had that starchy texture. They do have a large whiskey selection if that's your interest. But if there's so little interest in the customer experience that they're sending patties that size out of the kitchen for $20, there's no reason for me to go back. Add to this the fact they charged $4.95 for a diet coke. Yes, the restaurant business is hard and margins are slim. But at what point (between the tiny patty size and the $5 coke) are you making it clear you trying to extract every penny from your customer and don't care about repeat business. Add on top of this that the restaurant was not very busy and many of the employees were concerned more with talking to each other and I don't know what this business is trying to do. Oddly enough, I haven't been in a Stack 571 before. After attending a nearby event, a couple friends and I went to the Stack 571 bar for a nightcap. I had the Kentucky Whiskey flight that allowed me to taste 4 samples of Bourbon. It's a great way to try several whiskeys and compare them. There is a very large list of liquor on the menu and the food looks pretty good too. Our bartender was very proficient and checked up on us every so often. Stack 571 is a nice option for food and drink in the Totem Lake area with lots of parking around. I'll definitely return one day. read more

I am not usually someone who is a huge fan of fries (tater tots on the other hand....) but the fries were DELICIOUS! There are not many places where you can get a good burger and shake anymore. This is the millennial 'elevated' burger experience your elders complain about. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, but I don't really have plans to go back. We say elbow to elbow with another table, there aren't a lot of common burgers you'd see at other places available, and the chicken burger came out on a cutting board. The burgers are pretty good. I had the truffle fries and truffle mushroom burger. I think the food itself was good and definitely juicy burgers. The downside was that our food took awhile to get to us. I think it was almost 45-50 mins before our food was served and there wasn't even alot of people in there and it was already after the lunch rush (1:30-2pm). The other thing that was odd was that our server that took orders had another server behind her that was awkwardly just following our server perhaps she was getting trained(i dunno) it just felt awkward because the other server wasn't doing anything like fill waters or whatever to make herself busy. She wasn't making notes but just awkwardly standing there and i think most of the servers were not very attentive and were just on their phones. I also felt a little disgusted because there were flies inside the restaurant. I mean i think there are easy fix to prevent this. It's one of a weird set up when you walk in. You have to wait to be seated but there is a wood panel faux wall and if there is no one to greet you, you kind of just stand there and hope someone sees you. We peeked around a few times to see if anyone was coming but we finally stood to the side after 7 minutes so we could be seen. After that we were quickly greeted and seated. Immediately after sitting down, our server came to our table and asked if we were ready to order. We said no as we just sat down. When we were finally ready to order, we had to wait a bit for our server to come back. I ordered a blt chopped salad and I was quite surprised by the dainty size for almost $15. And it wasn't even good. I needed salt and pepper but getting our server to table seemed an impossible task so I just didn't eat it. My son did enjoy his burger and the fries were crispy and seasoned well. My husband stated his burger was fine but nothing that was above average. He did ask for a lettuce wrapped burger but it was more of a lettuce topped sandwich. The chicken wings were decent. Flavored and cooked well. The tempura mushrooms was a little bit of a let down. Food was great! I had the grapefruit margarita super sweet unexpected but good I opted for a gin and tonic for my second round. The street corn was delicious same with my burger. Fries were tasty and just enough. The queso was just ok. Service was excellent. The only drawback was the patio wasn't open and a family came in with a very boisterous child that really echoed in the space. The family had initially asked to sit outside. I drove here for my to celebrate my boyfriends first day of work and he had to drive me back. The happy hour drinks and boozy shakes (Washington Triple Berry) had me feeling great. I would highly recommend coming to happy hour and trying any of their apps. We got the loco moco fries which were pretty good. I just wish they were a little more melted/warmer. As for sliders I'm a big back so we got 4 in order to try them all out. Pb&J: By far the best. You wouldn't think it goes well together but the sweetness and nuttiness complimented the burger very well. Fatted Sow: Was really salty. If they toned that down this would be a solid burger. We come here often now that the Bothell location closed. We normal have alright service, not that great. This last weekend we returned and they said new policy is they cannot remove cheese on burgers (we're lactose intolerant) and we were told to order something else. When we went inside to use the restrooms as we sat outside, there was only 1 table taken and yet under the remaining tables in the restaurant was food, half eaten sauce cups and silverware under multiple tables. When I looked around staff was just standing around on their phones. Delayed review from a December experience I meant to write this sooner but the holidays got busy. In December I reached out to Stack 571 Totem Lake hoping to celebrate my daughter's birthday with our family. Our group was initially around 18 and then reduced to 16. I understood from the start that reservations are not typically accepted, so I asked if there was a time that would make seating easier or if arriving early might help. In the email exchange, I was told the only time they could assure seating was between 11:30am and noon. When I asked about coming earlier in the evening instead, I was advised multiple times that our group size and requested timeframe were "overwhelmingly prohibitive" and that it would be best to seek accommodations at a larger restaurant. I appreciated the responses, but the overall message was clear that our group should plan to celebrate elsewhere rather than attempt to dine there. We did make other arrangements and had a wonderful experience elsewhere. However, before heading to dinner, my daughter stopped into Stack 571 just to grab fries to go since that was what she had really wanted for her birthday. At the time, the restaurant appeared to have plenty of open seating, which made the earlier guidance feel confusing and disappointing. This was especially frustrating because we had been willing to be flexible with timing and seating arrangements. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've experienced service here that felt unwelcoming. In past visits I assumed it was an off day, but this interaction felt consistent with those earlier experiences. This place is spacious and in the center of totem lake right across from the playground. The interior reminded me very strongly of being seated in the 1970s at a wealthy cowboy's million dollar bathroom. From the tile wall, to the bright white lights to the hill painting over the bar... Service was good here. No complaints. Very mid tier restaurant quality. The menu is classic burger bar. Larger whiskey options than an American restaurant, definitely a full bar menu inclusive of a cocktail menu. They have their own stack sauce that they serve with everything, and which was actually really good. Pricing is average for the area, portions are average for an American burger restaurant and the options include meat free (beyond burger) and gluten free substitutes. Food was good. We have been there twice in a month so that says something good :) Burgers are different here. I tried their Burger dip the first time. It was tasty but I don't believe is the best one. For me it was like a tasty sandwich on plain bread. The dip was good but didn't match dipping it. So on my next trip I tried the Jimmy Bruger and it was great!!! Meat was soft. Burger was huge. The PB&J one is next on my list. Shakes were good! I had the blackberry non alcoholic version but my party had the regular ones and were satisfied with them. They have monthly specials so ask for them. Ambiance is nice. Not that noisy even being aside the playground.. It is cool and nice inside but I like being outside better. This place has loud acoustics with overhead music louder than the talking patrons' voices bouncing off the concrete. Wouldn't recommend for a date or business meal. I had the burger of the month which had blue cheese and mushrooms. Smallish burger, lacked seasoning. Waffle fries were hard and dry on the edges so ate the middles. I thought the staff was the best part about our experience here. They were friendly, quick, and helpful with the menu and seated us rather quickly, The food was good. Nothing groundbreaking, but tasty. I liked that they had the option to sub in chicken breast instead of ground beef for the burgers. Bartender was fine, kind of in his own world, but we got our beers and ordered our burgers. Aside from a bit more slaw than I would prefer, the burger was really good. Waffle fries were delicious and always a welcome bonus when a burger place has them. The Stack Hefeweizen was also surprisingly good (and a less common find these days). Food and beer, very good.
