Love this place! Total hidden gem inside Jalagachi. The interior is sleek and the food was delicious. Our favorites were the beef ribs, the salad, the japchae and the tteokbokki off the kids menu (trust us! Just note you have to have a child under 12 with you). I would skip the miso cod, some bites were delicious and some were a little fishy. Our waitress was also 10/10, SO NICE and helpful. I will be back!

We liked the ambiance and the food. Service was ok. We really enjoyed the presentation and the seafood. The Grilled Flounder turned out to be fried but was nonetheless tasty. The seafood soft tofu soup is definitely up there as well. The portion and price could be better but we would return if in the neighborhood and craving Korean food.

My gf and I had reserved a cozy table today 6/27/26 for lunch as it was our first time us both. We ordered several dishes: 1 Lg Kalbi - thin cut but was tasty. 1 Japchae - small portion and flavorful. 1 HweMuChim- Outstanding and so fresh! 1 Grilled Black Cod- tasted rubbery and we didn't care for this dish at all. I ordered 2 Blue Soju Paradise- Wonderful! Also ordered the side of Asst Ssam which was fresh with tasty Perilla leaves, lettuce radish. We enjoyed it overall and the server brought out a mini sponge cake with matcha and fresh strawberries but lacked flavor and the cake was dry. Service was great and the disappoint here was truly the Black cod and dessert. Next time I'll try a different seafood entree and soup,

Wanted to try this place out for an early Father's Day celebration. Ordered the Set B menu and it was very good. It was more than enough for the 3 of us with us being able to take some home. The dishes that stood out to me were the: - seafood salad - spicy tofu soup

I went to check out new Kkori-Jjim (Braised Oxtail) that is available at their POGU restaurant!! We went at 5pm and there was no wait. The meat is so tender and juicy and they braised it for 5-6 hours. The meat easily falls off the bone !! This feeds 2-3 people for $88. The dish comes with beef tendon, jujube, ginseng, and seasonal vegetables! One of the best braised oxtail I had! We couldn't finish it for 2 people, so we took the rest to-go.

Date of Visit: 5/22/2026 We visited POGU the Korean restaurant opened by Michelin chef Tony Yoo on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. We visited without a reservation but were seated right away. The side dishes were very impressive! With the Korean puff bread with seaweed butter, kimchi, seaweed, egg roll, and salad. Jagalchi Old Fashioned $16 I ordered the old fashioned made with bourbon stirred with hazelnut liqueur, barley syrup, and bitters. The overall taste was strong with layers. Las Jaras Wine Glou Glou $14 Husband got the red wine from Sonoma county, mostly with Zinfandel, Carignan, Grenache and Petit Sirah. Shrimp Scallion Pajeon $20 For the appetizer, we got the Korean pancake with shrimp, scallions, and egg. Freshly cut tableside, with two different sauces to mix with. Grilled LA Galbi $35 And for the Korean BBQ, we ordered the marinated beef short ribs. This one was very tasty and juicy. Highly recommended. Tofu Kimchi Jjigae $23 And we also got the kimchi stew with tofu. It was spicier than we expected.

I've been here multiple times and this place always has great and quick service. The food here never fails to hit the spot either. I always try to get something I liked in the previous times I've been here and something new to try whenever I come here. Galbi scallion pajeon (10/10) -- I always get this when I'm eating here because it is so worth it. There is so much galbi in this pancake and the scallions are so fragrant but not overpowering in the slightest. I also love how even though there are full scallions in the pajeon, they are more so aromatic than overpowering. The Chicken Set (9/10) -- I really was surprised by how tender the juicy the chicken was. The chicken was not dry at all! The only complaint is that there could've been more chicken. The Galbi Set (7/10) -- The galbi in the pancake was very tender but the galbi in the set was a bit tougher to chew. I would say that the flavor is always up to par though so no complaints there! Both the sets came with ample food and side dishes so I was very happy with my selection. They also gave us a complimentary dessert drink at the end that is also supposed to aid with digestion. It was much appreciated! Also, this place is inside Jagalchi which is great because i love to explore the supermarket and do a little shopping afterwards.

    Kalbi lunch

I stopped in for lunch to try out POGU. No wait and there were a few options for May's lunch specials. Food came out quickly. Kalbi was good but not exceptional. Maybe I am used to it being served sizzling on a hot plate. Portion was small even for lunch special pricing, and 15% of it is bone. I think most people would be left still hungry. Sides were delicious but few offerings and not much. Rice was a bit mushy for my liking. Salad was fine. Tofu soup was good but a little bland. Ambience was upscale nice in a Chipotle feeling architecture, but you're in the center of a grocery store. A mix of elderly couples, family, and friends eating out. Service was quick and easy. Parking is also plentiful. Compared to Han Il Kwan, which is also $23 for a Kalbi lunch special, and it comes with 7 generous portions of banchan sides and a full portion of kimchi stew and more Kalbi (served on a hot plate). I enjoyed my meal and experience but don't think the value is there.

    Tofu - Excellent!

Surprisingly affordable for lunch and the food and service were terrific! Stopped by here for a light lunch midweek. I just wanted something light so I had the tofu with a smallish side plate of Japchae (clear rice noodles). Tofu tends to be a rather plain bland dish, but not here, they gently fry it and serve it with some fried bits on top with fresh sprouts. It was delicious! Expansive interior with subdued lighting makes for a calm dining experience. Loved it here. Will be back!

We've been waiting awhile to try POGU given how busy it could be. We should have gone sooner as it was a great dining experience. Our server explained the menu and we decided to get a meal set for 2 people. It was the Set A. The banchan came out first which has a few small dishes. They were tiny and I am sure we could have asked for more but most Korean places don't skimp on the banchan. A special treat was the bread with a matcha butter. Bread was warm and went well with the butter. The Set included japchae a beef bulgogi pancake which was unique, tofu stew, and pork belly. Loved all the dishes except the tofu stew. It was watery and not as rich as other places. Nice interior with tables spread apart nicely so you don't feel like it's crowded. Definitely a great option for upscale Korean. Can't wait until our next visit.

Went for lunch on a Friday so we didn't have to wait. Yay. I've being waiting patiently to try this place out for sometime. So was super excited. Staff were friendly and were happy to explain when I had several questions. Very spacious and clean restaurant. At one point I forgot it was in the middle of a grocery store. I really loved the high quality table wear that added to the ambiance. Complimentary rice bread with the matcha butter was so good Tasty banchan made with good quality ingredients. We ordered: Black Cod - It was beautifully cooked. Slightly crispy in the outside and moist and fatty on the inside. My only complaint is that a couple of the Pieces were chewy. But overall good. Bimbimbap - was good. Veggies were fresh. Kimchi soup - was very tasty, the broth was absolutely delicious. Bulgogi with rice - the beef was perfectly seasoned with the right balance of sweet and salty. Unlike other places where it's usually too sweet. Toedboekki - Was ok. Will be back to try kimchi pancakes. The table next to us ordered some. They looked really good. Thank you! Will post more pictures later.

    Sulpang with matcha cream

I'll start by saying we love there bakery and market. But POGU, the restaurant in the middle of this beautiful store was very disappointing. On a positive note, the small amount of banchan we are very tasty and the rice bread, sulpang, was good with the matcha cream. The kimchi was crisp and tasty. But sadly, everything we actually ordered was only OK: 1. Got the tofu appetizer. This was probably the best thing we ordered. The tofu was pretty good, but the kimchi it sat on was unlike the kimchi on the side. It was ground up into small pieces and not very good. 2. The noodle soup with the bone broth was very plain. 3. The seafood jigae was definitely our least favorite. Just sour and not that good. Serivice was excellent, but this place can definitely go with upping the quality and taste of the food. We totally didn't expect the restaurant to be this disappointing in such a cool location within the market.

    Feast for 3!

We were seated right away and decided to share the gal bi ribs (dinner size portion), the bibim naengmyun cold noodles, and a portion of purple rice. Our server brought out a kettle of hot tea and array of banchan, which we grazed on while we waited for the ribs and noodles. The ribs came out first, served sizzling hot on a ceramic dish. The dinner portion appeared to be way more meat than the two of us could finish, although our server had recommended the dinner portion would be more appropriate for two people. Some of the ribs didn't have much meat on them, but we still had plenty left over once we'd eaten our fill. The bibim naengmyun was served about 15-20 minutes after the ribs. The noodles were coated in a sweet and spicy sauce, but the cooling texture of the noodles helped temper the heat. I also really enjoyed the sweet potato, cucumber, and Asian pear toppings, which added freshness and crunch. We had tons of leftovers after our meal, so next time, we'd stick with the lunch-sized portions.

You can also park in the residential area which we did in the past. This is our "Go To" for Korean Tofu soup. This is our fifth time here. We came in and the ladies sat us right away. Very friendly as always. Gave us a tea kettle after we sat down and had some warm tea before we ordered. That was nice. They also gave us a pitcher of cold ice water. When we were ready to order they came to us right away. We ordered 2 Pork dumpling tofu stew soup and bul go gi (marinated rib eye beef). First they served us the ban chan which consist of jap chae (glass noodle with veggies), marinated broccoli, sprouts, Kim chi, cucumber and potato(savory, very good). They also gave us the purple rice and 2 eggs for our tofu stew. All the banchans were fresh and delicious!!! I love the jap chae. It was cooked perfectly. The rest of the ban chans were seasoned just right! It was hard to stop eating them before our meal arrived. I look forward to coming here for their ban chans as it is a treat. Next came our Bul Go Gi on a sizzling platter. Yes, it was not sizzling but I prefer it this way as the meat was tender and great with the ban chans. Before when it came out sizzling the bottom meats would be crispy and dry. But this time it stayed moist and delicious!!! Love the onions with the marinated sauce. Next our tofu soup came and it was very HOT and sizzling. We dropped the egg into our tofu soup and dig in. The soup was very tasty, full of umami flavors. The tofu was silky to your mouth. The pork dumpling soaked in the flavors from the soup and was sooo yummy!!! We put some of the bul go gi and kimchi in the soup and that elevated the flavors into a different level. The ladies asked us if we were doing fine and replenished our ban chans. I felt like I was eating home. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the food was outstanding. Last time we were here was last year and our experience was the same...,Full and Happy with their delicious food. This place is a gem with real authentic Korean cuisine. Thank you for filling our hearts desire yesterday. We can't wait to come back.

My lunch started with a shrimp dumpling appetizer $15. This was a clean tasting dish with a good ratio of pork and shrimp filling. It was served on a bed of cabbage and came with a side of soy sauce, top off with cilantro to add flavor. Lighter dishes pair well with the heavier meat dishes like their double fried honey chili Korean fried chicken ("KFC".) They use a secret recipe batter that keeps the chicken crunchy when coated with the honey chili sauce. The meat was juicy and soft inside. This was a semi-sweet glaze with slice amount of spicy heat. My guess is they used Korean gochujang (fermented red chili paste) as part of the glaze. When my Hong Kong style crispy noodles shrimp $21 arrived, I knew I had to take some of this home. The chef knows how to make this dish well. Some places will saturate the noodles too much making it not crispy. I love how they put a medley of bok choy and choy sum vegetables in this dish to make it healthier. Service was excellent.
