If you dont know, it takes a lot of work to ship a pet. You have to book a flight, get the right size crate, make sure they have their vaccines, a certificate for them to fly out which expires after 10 days so you have to make sure the certificate is going to be valid when you take a flight out. With little time for me to figure out(2wks), they helped me with everything... they did everything! With me having to still go to work daily, pack up the house, figure out shipping my car,this has saved me. Not one bit of stress. They have a company called Tail Movers and Jessica arranged and did EVERYTHING for me. She was amazing. It was such an amazing experience. My dog had to fly into LA and taxi drove her to Las Vegas. This service was worth the money. They constantly communicate with you, text and send you pictures. Thank you Tails of Hawaii and Tail Movers for such amazing service. I will definitely recommend 100% to people I know who plan to make the move.

As I accurately surmised, they offer locally sourced pet food and treats and specialty accessories in a friendly and inclusive space. Some of the treats looked appetizing enough for human consumption like ahi tuna jerky and dried duck necks (Photo 7). Of course there were Spam musubi squeaker toys and a variety of leashes in a multitude of colors (Photo 2). They even offered merch for non-pet owners like us. While I sadly bypassed the "Heated Rivalry" stickers (Photo 10), I couldn't help but get the rainbow toothbrushes (Photo 9). Wouldn't you? No surprise the staff was a kick. They had a great selection of sizes of cakes. We just needed a small cake and decided to go with the cupcake with the doggie cookie on it. Was soooooo cute!! Also got some Japanese Okinawa sweet potato cookies shaped as hearts. They were super friendly and helpful! Got home and omg my furbabies devoured the cupcake ( I gave them portions and saved them in the refrigerator) they also enjoyed the cookies immensely! After her "Bath Spaw" here, that stubborn smell was completely gone, and she has stayed fresh and clean for so long. They did an amazing job! It's all there. I was looking for more aquatic plant additions, shrimp, and loaches for my tanks when the owner informed they get re-stock and new shipment every Tuesday. I ended up leaving with male guppies, Molly's, and some homemade beef jerky (which was 10/10 btw) that auntie at the register offered instead. Don't know anything about the "smell" mentioned in earlier reviews because there wasn't one, not even the pet store kind that's expected. On the subject of earlier reviews, as far as service goes - it was busy since it was a Saturday and no one was rude or unhelpful to us considering we came in a big group with teens and kids, an age range famously known for wandering around with zero spacial awareness for others. They could have been annoyed or impatient about that alone, but they were accommodating given the size of the store. One staff member entertained my kid-sister's questions and requests while simultaneously helping others and cleaning the tanks. An example for you. For being a local family owned business since the 80s, I don't think over-the-top service is necessary. But I have a soft spot for small local business owners, so what do I really know? They keep the community alive. It gives them their own character. I doubt a 3 or less star review would negatively impact these long standing businesses anyway. But that's because I live in reality. I'll be returning every other Tuesday after they've acclimated/quarantined the last weeks new shipments. The location beats having to go Kalihi or Town if you live in nearby neighborhoods.
