An actual text from the president of PDP
Blake D.

I'll start off by saying that I think it's probably a good place. They probably do good things. However, the owner is not nice. In the messages she just started swearing and all caps at us through text message. I think it's pretty telling that she has reviews turned off on facebook (because they would probably all be negative). My experience was she didn't know enough or didn't ask enough before agreeing to help an injured stray we found get adopted. Our agreement: We foster the stray, PDP would pay for the vet and try to find (a) - a forever home or (b) - another foster to take over if the stray is not ready by the end of May. Well I guess things weren't moving quickly enough for her because she lost her temper, she gave up on us and this stray. Should have agreed to help us, but she did and she and the problem is she didn't follow through. Not even close. She told us we would need to abandon the stray to where we found it. At this point we've started to look for other animal welfare organizations to step in and help with finding a foster, however, Alicia wants twice the adoption fee to transfer the vet records to another organization. We had tried to communicate with her frequently, maybe as much as every other day, yet we would not hear back from her for days. At the end of it all, she called us losers and pieces of shit. Dropped a few (okay a lot of) F-bombs. You could not pay me enough money to spend time around this lady I swear. My advice? Don't get on her bad side. Or else she'll treat you like dirt. How to not get on her bad side? Pray, maybe?

I tried to reach out to surrender a friends pet that left island and was immediately hounded before there was an understanding of the entire situation. The business, although attempting to do something good for the community, lacks professionalism and the care needed for these particular situations.

We fostered three puppies and adopted one of them from Poi Dogs and Popoki. The owner was easy to work with and very friendly. Very grateful for the work they do. Highly recommend checking out animals from them.

We called them to see when was the next time they would be in Waipio CORPS and showed up between the time they said to be there on a certain Saturday 330-4pm. Brought all my dogs here to get chipped for an affordable price. Lady we encountered was friendly. Back story: One of my dogs ran away and even though I called Hawaiian Humane society, someone put him in Oahu SPCA in Wahiawa, ended up chucking out some scripts to get him back (paid for room and boarding? Something like that). Lesson learned. I didn't even know that place even existed. Poi dogs is a non-profit and I have heard a positive review from my coworker so we gave them a call. Prices are much more affordable than at the Vet. For instance, your not paying $$50+ just to see the vet and more $$ to get chipped/spayed. Minuses a star because she must've sprayed something on my dogs because they were awefully stink after getting chipped. Also, we're still waiting for them to email us that they were registered.. I'm going to give them a follow up call today.

I'm Aware that there is no appointment fee but I'm not sure about the treatments. they said to treat minor diseases and even provide an exam though no price are listed. anyone know the general cost? so i can bring the exact amount. thank you.

The prices for the wellness visits is on their website. I'll post a picture in my review. It depends on what your four-legged friend needs.

We boarded our pet lovebird here for 20 days while we were on vacation. Previously we had house…read moresitters come to take care of him in our home while we were away. Each time we came back from vacation in the past, he was depressed and would hide for 1-2 weeks. When we picked up our baby from Deirdre - he was so cheerful and happy! He had been housed with a cockatiel for company the entire time. He wasn't sad or depressed at all - there was no adjustment period. He seemed eager to tell us all about his new friend and all his good experiences. It was obvious they took excellent care of him and made him feel taken care of and safe. They sent us photo updates on him periodically. We will most definitely be bringing him back to pampered pets each time we go on vacation from now on!

Last December I had my two feline fur babies, Joji & Tabioca stay with Julie for about a week. Joji…read morewas a little over a year old and Tabioca was still under a year old. We recently found Tabioca in our garage in August, got all of her vaccines, shots, and tests all cleared before boarding her. I was a little worried because Tabioca has never interacted with other cats outside of her social circle in our house, but she didn't really well! She was able to get all the socialization as a kitten from her stay here. Julie was amazing! She had clear communication of what was needed and what was expected prior to boarding my two cats. She required documentation of all recent shots, flea medication, and any other medical history, which is something that I appreciated a lot. My cats and other cats safety is our number one priority. She was also very welcoming when we dropped my cats off. She showed us around the cat house, I felt very safe and secure knowing how much love and care was put into the area. There were so many different cat trees, cat beds, toys, and individual areas if some cats preferred to be alone. She was very thoughtful and explained the introduction process with our cats and the other cats. She explained that the first day our cats will be in their own space with a safe divider just so all the cats can familiarize themselves with each other. Then she goes off based on the interaction. If they react well then they open up the space for interaction. It it wasn't so well, then they can remain safely and comfortably in their own space! All the other cats staying with her were so sweet and you can tell that Julie showered all of them with love and really took care of them. Julie also kept us updated with pictures and videos of how our cats were doing and it really kept our piece of mind especially because we were out of the country. We live in Waianae so the drive was pretty far, but so totally worth it! I would recommend Julie in a heartbeat! I was referred to Julie from my coworker who also had a very pleasant experience with her.
