I cancelled service and mailed back my equipment through the UPS Store in May 2026 and they sent me a bill in July for the equipment for $240.00. I called and told them they were supposed to call me back to let me know they found the equipment and have not heard anything back. *As an employee (as of 7/15/25), they owe me thousands of dollars in expense reimbursements from months ago and nobody seems to know where they are or when I will get them. They require driving 800 to 1000 miles per week with the empty promises of mileage reimbursement. *They also promised a very good income and I've not even made income above poverty level after months of employment because they don't know what they're doing. *There was no protocol for onboarding or training. ** The CRM system that the sales people are required to use sends them to home after home after home of those that are already customers of Point Broadband, which makes them look like they have no idea what they're doing and upsets the customer. The same system sends the sales people to homes that aren't even serviceable in the first place. This same system also sends them to homes of former Point Broadband customers, and I was told multiple times by those former customers that they would never try Point Broadband again because of unreliability. One particular day, I processed 6 sales only to find out PBB doesn't even service the entire area I was sent to. This happened multiple times. *All of the marketing material in my market advertised offering home phone service. I sold home phone service to a lady who went ahead and disconnected her previous Internet and home phone service (on her PBB installation date) only to find out when the technician went to do the install that we don't even provide home phone service in her area *As a customer, they allowed my home Internet service to be down for five days straight over a holiday when I had guest coming that needed to communicate with their children while they were here and Wi-Fi calling is the only way to make calls in my home. *In my opinion, someone at the leadership table does not care or is asleep at the wheel. **To the good people that I convinced to try PBB, I apologize. read more

I have been waiting almost a week for my service. A technician came and said something else needed to be done. So another tech came out with the big bucket truck. He then left an came back and left again without saying a single word to me about what was happening. I have called numerous times trying to get information and each time it was something different. Even telling me that it would be working within a couple hours. So two days later they say... You need an appointment... And after already waiting you would think I would be put to the top of the line but no... I'm now waiting until Thursday. Yes that's two days but this has been a week long debacle with no straight answers. If 2 techs have already been here what is a 3rd going to do unless the first one just decided to go home and not finish the job which is exactly what it's looking like happened. I have now had to spend 60$ on hotspot data just to watch TV and work. If I would have been told what was happening from the beginning it might have been ok but it was just a way to keep someone's business by telling them it would be running at any minute. read more

I tried calling "Point Broadband" or whoever they are nowadays and I was expecting to talk with someone local--maybe Wills Point, TX? Instead, I spoke to a rude, impatient guy in El Salvador named "Jonathan." I was originally told when I got internet with PB that I could go as high on the speeds as 100 mg UP/Down. When I called today to see if they would match what I was being offered from other local providers of a min. of 100 mgs for the same price or even less of what I was paying at Point, $55 for 25-30 mg, the guy at Point almost laughed and said they didn't have 100 mg speeds and I was at the highest data rate possible. He didn't appear in the least interested or even knowledgeable of his products, just keeping his job and getting a paycheck. When I asked him to "release the call" so I could take the survey, he then stated they weren't able to do that and would wait for me to hang-up first. What a disappointment in what was a local provider with "local service" feel! I am paying for the best connections speeds point broadband has. We have a great deal of pixelization on pictures and very slow internet. I called and tried to get help with this. They forwarded me to Technical Support, but no one ever answered. I had to leave a message and no one ever called back. I finally called again days later because I couldn't stand any longer and got some help. We will see how the new advice goes. I have Had Point broadband for approximately four years now it has been on and off the whole time but now it's worse than ever. Something needs to be done. read more

Point Broadband sends all of their sub-contractors on our land with unmarked bucket trucks tracking up our property. There were bucket trucks parked perpendicular to the power lines leaving ruts in my grass (November 2022) a month after it was over-seeded. To my knowledge, POINT BROADBAND does NOT have any easement or other recorded instrument allowing their workers to conduct any work or install any of their cables on our land. I know this to be a fact because I verified all the land records with the Circuit Court whom could not verify any easements for utilities. State law for the Broadband Expansion clearly states the workers are restricted to 7.5 feet from the center-line of electric lines. It also states new poles are not permissible for broadband and there is a pole in my yard with broadband cables and no other utilities adding an undue burden to our land. Utility vehicles are parked on our private driveway, blocking our Deeded RIGHT to Ingress and Egress. There are tire tracks from a bucket truck five feet off our road and a minimum of fifty feet from any utility line. Workers were also parking their vehicles behind our mailbox and walking through the mulch/flowers to the nearest utility line. I showed pictures of these vehicles to an attorney and he said these work crews do not have the right to park on your land or block your driveway. Blackout Trail Cameras are placed around our land due to the abuse of these work crews capturing the violations of our RIGHTS and damages to our land. Letters were mailed to: Vanover Communications August 2023, and Point Broadband in September and November 2023 with pictures of a Quanta Telcom Solutions truck causing damages, none of these letters were ever answered indicating the company is unwilling to resolve the property damages and their aggressive sales tactics promising a free service as their Bait & Switch sales pitch. The electric provider is required to replace all the service poles to support the additional cables owned by POINT BROADBAND. This is causing more disruptions and additional damages to our land and we do not get any compensation from this FOR-PROFIT company and assume a monetary loss for all the prior damages their work crews caused to our land and/or any future loss.. SICK of having work crews on our land and DENIED any RIGHT-TO-OBJECT under constitutional grounds of DUE PROCESS. read more

Abingdon and Washington County residents, this is a PSA to AVOID Point Broadband at all costs. This company is as incompetent and dishonest as they come. They will promise you a gift card to try out their service but then keep changing the rules on what you need to do to qualify for it. I have been told something different each time I have called. After I told them there was no line from the access point to my house, they still sent a technician to turn it on...which he couldn't do. They then had to send another crew to run the line and then another technician to install it in the house...3 appointments where I had to set aside my time to accommodate. They left the line laying in the yard and it took multiple calls to get them to send a crew to bury the line. They didn't bother to have the underground utility lines marked and while they were burying their line, they cut my Xfinity line. That crew just left without notifying anyone. I had to make multiple more calls to get it reported and ended up having to work with Xfinity myself to get my cable restored. The service drops out frequently and they bring wifi extenders to your installation but don't inform you that you are charged extra for these...it is not included in the quoted price. They did offer a partial credit of $50 but it took multiple calls to get it applied to my account. TL, DR: Do NOT sign up for Point Broadband service. It is most definitely NOT worth it. read more

So I did switch to Point thinking maybe they have worked out their issues. This has proved a big mistake. They contracted with me for service knowing they could not provide that service. This is fraud to my mind. They have an issue with the Sierra modems in a very large area. The service deregisters every 15-20 minutes and if I get 100 Mbps, I am thrilled. I have talked with the techs that came and out and they are aware and said this has been like this for six months. Also, my modem logs show all this. When I call they try and say they will fix my issue knowing they cannot. Then I get calls saying this is a new issue. I am seriously disappointed with Point as they have no transparency with their subscribers. They have never addressed the issue in an email or anything. I have been told they are working on it and do not know when or if they can fix it. I asked for my money back and they said they would give me half back. They have never given me the credit they said and logged in the notes on my account. Also, they figured that as the service is intermittent. It is not useable. It deregisters and then takes time reaquire. This messes with all wifi devices and you cannot work with a connection dropping all the time. Also, 100 Mbps is not useable. I pay for 300, but have never got that. I am filing a complaint with the State Attorney General consumer issues. They contracted with me knowing they could not provide service. The internet service is great, but the lies are getting a little excessive. I was first told, by the sales reps, that I would get one month of free service, that the months following that would be $50 per month, and that my installation date was scheduled for July 15th. Then, without warning or permission, someone comes and attaches a box to the exterior wall of my brick home, around the end of June. I call and am told that nothing else will be done without my permission and that nothing else will be done before July 15th. After that, I receive a text from the technician stating that he will be here on July 3rd. He comes and installs my internet, and I hear nothing else from anyone, until I receive a text stating that I have a balance of 22 dollars due on July 30th. When I call to ask what this balance is for on July 28th, I am told that it is for the first month of service. I ask to dispute this and am told that the dispute with the billing department has been put in and she will call me back as soon as she receives an answer from the billing department, hopefully by tomorrow (July 29th). Also during this call, I am told by her that if the payment ends up being late because of a dispute, it will not be assessed because my account is in processing. Then, after not receiving an answer the next day (July 29th), and knowing that my bill is "due" on July 30th, I call again on the 29th. I get the same lady who tells me that the I owe the $22. Then, when I ask her about the dispute and how she didn't call me back, she tells me that she received the answer as soon as I called back. I asked for the billing department and she tells me that she cannot transfer me to anyone and the only person I am allowed to speak to is her. I end up paying the bill just to prevent having a late fee, since she told me that it wouldn't be assessed since my account is processing. Fast forward to mid-August and I receive another text saying that I have a balance of $94, of which $15 is a late fee. I again paid that bill because I was afraid to get, yet another, late fee. In summary, I now have an internet service provider who continuously lies to me and who I cannot trust with my money. read more

I would not recommend this company. The only reason we use them is because we literally have no other option. I guess that's why they get away with such poor service. This is the third time that we have been randomly removed from auto pay with no communication from the company. Then after two months of our bill not being paid they turn our internet off with no warning. We didn't get an email, phone call or even a letter in the mail. When we called they said "oh your auto pay was turned off, we don't know how that happened". I got off the phone with them at 9:30 this morning, it is currently 3 in the afternoon and we still don't have working internet. I called for an update and was told "it will come back on whenever the system decides to turn it back on and currently it's still pending in the system". I will say they waived the late fee and didn't charge us the start up fee but honestly that should be expected if we weren't the ones who were at fault. We are looking forward to the day that we move out of this house so we don't have to deal with this slow and expensive internet that randomly stops working all the time. Installers did not show up on time. Instead of the 8-11 a.m. window on Friday as scheduled, they showed up at 3:30 pm. They did call around 11 to say that they would be an hour late. 2 promises broken. When they did show up, they did not have a long enough drill bit to run the cable through my wall. That meant a two hour drive to the closest big city to get the right-sized drill bit. The installers left at 8:30 pm. The new internet was not functioning. The installers were independent contractors. They said that they could not make my internet operational but the company would get it running in a day or two. The cable was strewn across my yard forming almost a 270 degree arc. Needless to say, it was not buried either. That apparently is another independent contractor. The installers said that I would be contacted in a couple of days to schedule the bu of the fiber optic cable. Five days later, no call re burying the cable. The internet was connected yesterday by a Point technician who was checking the work of the independent contractors. He said that the fiber optic cable was improperly connected to the junction box in my yard. The technician also stated that if the cable had been connected properly, it would have been on on Friday. The internet did work for a couple of hours. Then it stopped. It got started again when I called customer service. It ran at near the advertised speed. Until it didn't. That was in the evening when I tried to watch tv. When I called customer service, the tech side was closed and I had to call back today. It turns out that the company provided modem is "known to have issues " which have been remedied by installing my old modem. Now I have an appointment next week for a technician to bring me a new modem. What are the odds that he will show up during the scheduled window? Last thing. The salesman who told me to call him if I had any problems, when called said "I can't help you with any of that." Not a great way to start out. Be forewarned. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with they are extremely rude on the phone and it's all women.. they lie to get you signed up the service sucks bad and they always have outages. I don't recommend getting them as a service provider at all.. they charge late fees when it's there fault and they will turn off your services if you're offended them. We'd been seeing their vehicles in our area of southwestern Virginia for perhaps a couple of weeks, with workers putting out signs on the road, but were unaware of who they were or what they were doing. This morning we were awakened by a great deal of noise outside our residence. When we looked outside, we noticed that there was a marked Point Broadband truck parked in the intersection right in front of our residence, with the signs put out on the road. Within only a few minutes, there was a notable gathering of workers in the area. There were vehicles parked in our driveway and also in the driveway of our adjacent property. The workers offloaded at least two four-wheelers and took them through our front yard and onto our back property. After putting up with this for a couple of hours, my wife walked out to one of the vehicles parked in our driveway to ask what was going on. She was told, "We're with Point Broadband. We're hanging fiber optic cable." When asked why they felt entitled to park in the driveways of both our adjacent houses--- without once even asking permission to do so--- we were informed that they are entitled to access 'right of ways' to get to existing cable/telephone lines. When we remarked that it would have been appreciated to have the courtesy of a knock on the door to request permission to do so, and to arbitrarily run their 4-wheelers and vehicles through our front yard and onto our property, the response was, "Well, we didn't know if anyone was at home and we didn't want to knock on the door and maybe wake anybody up." As if the general noise created by all their vehicles and activity would not do the same?! We never asked for Point Broadband, nor did we ever agreed to allow them to access our property....... but a simple 'by your leave' , beforehand , would have been appreciated! This ISP is run by incompetent people. The only "value" Pont Broadband brings to the table is collecting the money from your local community and sending out of your local community. Of course, Comcast does the same thing. So if you have a choice between the two, you might as as well go with the company that provides the best service. That's Comcast. Regarding the money thing... with Point Broadband, the majority of customer payments (YOUR MONEY) are not staying in your local community. All that money is going to Rackspace in Texas. Point Broadband outsources all major services of your Internet service to Rackspace. You can verify this by traceroute-ing their major service end-points. Point Broadband acquired our previously reliable ISP (BVU Internet) in the Bristol VA/TN and surrounding areas. Two years ago, Point Broadband disabled the ability for residential customers to use private domain names in their e-mail configuration. In other words, a customer cannot set the reply-to address that they want recipients to use when responding to their e-mail. So, if you want to conveniently run your private e-mail on a private domain then you will need to find another ISP that will allow this. Comcast is not so rude to prevent you from doing that. I had been a customer of this company (and all the companies they acquired) for more than 10 years. read more

Point Broadband has the worst service I have ever had. They installed service at a rental I have in 2022, and left the cable laying on the ground where there is both foot traffic and 4 wheeler traffic. I have called at least 30 times asking it to be buried, but it still lays on the ground. Therefore we have had a broken fiber wire there 3 times. What really makes it so bad, is when you lose service for any reason, which is frequent, it takes a minimum of 5 days to get a broken fiber repaired, a minimum of 3 days to send a tech to fix an equipment issue. I had phone service with them, and it didn't work. They said it was my phone. I replaced and it still didn't work. I finally cancelled. The thing about the phone was the tech on site said it was not my phone, but the people in the office would not listen and so I don't have a phone anymore. Have been having spotty service for a few months now. Got worst on Tuesday, in the middle of completing a project for my boss (I work from home). Paying $100 a month for 1 GIG, just so I could have great service. This company knows nothing about customer service. Contacted them Tuesday to find out what was happening, and they told me a circuit needed to be replaced. Told rep I needed to speak to someone else, because she wasn't helping me. She told me she was going to transfer me and hung up the phone. Service came back but was in and out. Called them back to cancel the service, and rep ask me why, told her it was not important to tell her why at this point, no longer needed them, because I was not getting what I was paying for. She asked me if I had any equipment to turn in, I told her no, then she proceeded to explain that my problem was because I wasn't using their equipment. I didn't even let her know that I knew what the problem was based on an earlier call, (a circuit needed replacing, and I was not the only customer being affected).
