I have been to this postal store many time throughout my time living in Point Loma. The location is convenient and I have found the services to be helpful. I have dropped off things many times, as Amazon, and other services have used them as a location to drop of returns. They also have a regular mail drop box for letters. When I walk in, I typically am warmly greeted by staff. I have gone a few other times for various services. When planning my last trip out of the country, I realized that my passport had expired, and I needed to do priority processing to get it quickly. I went to this Postal Plus to get my passport photos taken. It was quick and easy. Recently, I had to have a document notarized. I was happy when I called to find that the owner was a notary, and would be there and available all day. It cost $15 which I believe is the going rate. There was a long line with a few customers before me and a few after me. After all, it was the holiday season. I thought he handled the line well without making people feel rushed, however, trying to get a few of the quicker services taken care of first. Regardless, I was in and out pretty quickly and on my way. I learned that this postal stop is moving a few blocks away due to increases in rent. It is a convenient shop to have nearby. read more

We drop in here often to mail packages. They always find the right service to get it where it has to go for the right price. There is a usps Mail Drop if you need to leave a stamped letter. They also sell stamps and packaging as well as some items you can drop into a box as a gift. Always changes, currently they have hats. Most recently helpful has been the public notary. I will leave out the remaining details, as I'm rather embarrassed. However, I'd like to apologize for my actions. I insulted this kind man after his generosity. I'm sorry. I support, respect and love small business owners. I support local and will continue to do so. This is not my usual location where I do business, but I will definitely visit again. I miss these guys! I now see how good I had it with Quinn and Postal Plus after moving away from this company to another on Adams Ave because we moved up there. Boy was that a u turn in service. Quinn has always taken great care of me and my business for over 10+ years. He never once let me use my key in 10 years but him or his staff would always grab my mail for me. I would have 20 large boxes show up and he would welcome them unlike the company on Adams that I moved to. A current customer and have been for 10 plus years, however I won't be renewing. The employees and staff are great however Quin, the owner, is plain rude. When picking up my mail, I asked Quinn if he would kindly look in the back room to go recheck if my package had arrived. Instead of rechecking (I had other packages) he started cursing at me. He then went on to accuse me of "not trusting him" and started listing a resume of how long he's been in the postal industry. Not paying anyone with the IQ of 10 to yell at me. This place is a rip off. I had a 2oz letter that I needed to mail and he charged me $2.30 for it. After I left, I checked on USPS and the cost to mail a 2oz letter is only $0.70. I went back in and told him and he said that he charges more than the post office. It would've been nice if he told me that at the time of purchase. That's frickin' crazy! I went there to mail a package via USPS Priority Express as it was requested by the recipient. After I told the owner repeatedly that I absolutely needed to ship it via USPS, he continued to question me why I chose to use USPS because "they are the biggest morons" as he put it. Worse, he charged me $47 for the USPS Priority Express WITHOUT telling me that it was more than the post office would charge. Turns out the same shipping option is $28 at the local post office! If you want to pay 70% more than you should, be schooled by a rude, hysterical, and dishonest business owner, this is the place! read more

I have been there twice. The first time was super easy. The gentleman helped me and he seemed to really know what was going on. I went back again yesterday, and this middle aged lady helped me. She seemed unsure and timid. She didn't even think to have me write the address label before putting the slip into the package. Quick and easy. So convenient; it's never packed. They can provide you with whatever service you're wanting from the post office (who doesn't dread the post office) except they are a little bit more expensive. For instance, their FedEx stuff is more expensive since they are a 3rd party service but you pay for the convenience. Definitely rather go here to ship stuff than Kinko's any day. If you have prepaid shipping labels on your stuff just drop it off at the counter & they will take care of you. (Obviously there are UPS & USPS drop boxes down the street; if it doesn't fit/if you're worried about it not getting delivered just drop it off in the store) Very nice, mom & pop place. I tried to buy a stamped envelope with my visa debit card but they refused to sell me a envelope unless I spent a minimum of $5 in the store! That's ridiculous the whole point of using visa is that it's accepted everywhere! Why take that form of payment if your going to punish the customer and force me to spend extra money?? When I told him that's illegal we got in to an argument and then he refused to sell me the envelope... I couldn't believe it. A store can't have a minimum purchase amount, if they are going to take visa they have to take it whether $1 or $100. OMG! WOW! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! Worst experience ever! I went in and asked for something to be faxed and then those documents to be mailed. I was charged for the envelope, the POSTAGE NEEDED, and the fax, which was fine. I waited for the fax confirmation. The guy came back to me and said he needed an extra $2 for postage after he already charged me a dollar for postage. I gave him my card and he said there would be an extra $1.50 charge for the card because it was less than $5. I said, "I've already spent $13 and it was your mistake." I would have already been gone, had I not waited for the fax confirmation and he said, "Give me a *!#@*¤* break!" I stated that cleary it was his mistake not mine, I'd already paid you guys exactly what you requested for the postage. He then continued to verbally berate me. I told him that he was acting extremely unprofessional. Again he continued to insult me! I mentioned to him, "You are aware that there are such things as review websites, is that correct? Is this how you want to handle this?" He said he didn't give a flying*%!#! I took my letter and I walked out. The owner was very rude expressed unacceptable behavior just because I wasn't a paying customer. So in other words what your saying is a paying customer get respect but a non paying customer is subject to you bad behavior. There were several occasions I needed to pay for shipping but most of my return items came with free postage. The Postal Annex here off Midway always so welcoming and never discriminate whether I'm paying or not. Always so happy to help. They are a true example and a successful business not an owner magnifying whether I'm a paying customer or not. You should be more focused on being helpful.
