My spouse and I went there for the Easter buffet today. The food was good. The service was great. What was not so good was watching a lady laugh and keep triggering someone's PTSD to the point that the lady had to leave without finishing her meal. That was pure disrespect. To start this restaurant allows smoking EVERYWHERE, so the whole place smelled like smoke. We asked if there was a no smoking area and were told no, so we sat as far away from the smokers as possible, only to have someone come in and sat very close to us. We decided to take our food to go because we couldn't stand the smoke any longer. When we got home the food was not bad, but not great either. The server acted like we were a burden, and then expected a tip. I felt like I had to leave a tip, but not sure for what as there really was no service. read more

First of all this is a smoking establishment! I have an excellent service here, I do smoke on occasion I Vape whatever. I understand some people are put off by the smoking and vaping! Otherwise this establishment I had excellent customer service they were very friendly very accommodating. I thought the food was oh average. It was a visit back home after 30 something years so I have some nostalgia on that. And I believed the visit was good the staff was friendly super friendly! And I need to do another! On that one toy!!! it has been in business for many years I know it's got new owners but I really enjoyed my time there but if you are sensitive to odors or smoke it may not be a police are you or your family to visit. Some of the comments heRE make me laugh. It's a walk in and seat yourself kinda restaurant and you usually get a waitress or waiter after a few minutes. After you order they cook you exactly what you ask for, but it's all fresh and home made beautiful nom noms so it takes a bit. And its got breakfast all day, so if your whiny little cry hole wants egGs and toast for dinner than there ya go. Speaking of breakfast, the coffee is AMAZING. Great, casual atmosphere. Full bar so you can enjoy your fave alcoholic beverage. The women's restroom could use some remodeling. There's lots of cigerettes smoke, so may be isn't family friendly. Comfort food, which is fab, that, you can't find at comparable places. read more

We have had lunch and dinner numerous times here. We love it. Buffet is hit or miss but made to order food is always great. Would have 5 stars but the wait time at lunch is holding it back. All in all, satisfied customers read more

Tell me why... after reading several reviews mentioning the "smoke" smell and chain smokers galore, I still went ahead and tried this place out, and that is why I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of the 2 it kind of ish deserves, only because literally the smoke will take you away. Literally! Look I get it. This is a smokers paradise, so with all that being said, it really is for that purpose. The food was at best great for the typical diner style eats. I had the Texas SOS with biscuits and gravy and everything tasted within par of what you would normally assume the dish would taste. It wasn't cold or short of flavor, nor was it a small portion. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak and it came with a salad first. Again, nothing to gloat about, just your average greasy spoon good eats. The waitress was attentive and talkative and it made it more enjoyable. Was completely ignored by the staff the entire time I was there. I stood awkwardly at the front waiting to be seated. After several minutes a customer, regular I would guess, told me I could sit anywhere. No sign, no service. I sat at a table for 15 minutes and was not once acknowledged by any type or staff who all seemed too busy laughing and visiting with the folks on the other side of the place. Absolutely disgusting place . The woman working the cashier tonight was literally coughing everywhere . There was hardly anybody there and we still ended up waiting an hour and 10 minutes for ONE PLAYE that consisted of a DRY steak, hard baked potato, and RUBBERY breaded shrimp. I enjoy this restaurant! Overall it is my type of place. The food is good and the service is just as good as most places but sometimes it's lacking just like other places... Yes, there's cigarette smoke, no it don't bother me, and I'm not a smoker either. The folks complaining need to grow up in my opinion, jeeze I'm surprised you people survived the 80's! You can come in and relax after a long day or two at work and not be hassled for staying too long, the atmosphere is good and the staff friendly. This is an old school truckstop style diner. Smoking is allowed inside, so be aware of that before you go in. Show up early enough and you'll see plenty of old timers there to smoke cigarettes and drink coffee in the morning. I thought the food was well done. Good country breakfast. I can't even rate the food because we literally waited over an hour, during that time my husband had to go to the front to place our order because our waitress, (literally seemed like she was on something the whole time!!! Making comments like "oh this is the kind of place you have to place your own order hahahah" and we were offput by that, along with her constantly telling us about her masters degreee and not even needed that job. Let me say, thanks y'all. The crew may change but the core of personality makes it mighty fine. Ain't no star system large enough for neighbors, and generally speaking, customers and crew alike lend themselves to that atmosphere. This is your typical 24 hour old school smoking allowed diner. The Philly Cheesesteak was amazing! I ordered a side of au jus. The fried okra is delicious. I don't recommend the queso and chips however. But all in all a great after regular restaurant hours establishment. read more

This is the second time I've gone and both times sucked! Three people came in after me and recieved their food before I did. I only ordered eggs toast and grits. Then when I got my food some was missing. The grits were so dry I could lift the bowl with my spoon in it. There was hair in my eggs. When I went to pay and told the lady she said well you should have told the waitress. I did not pay for that crappy meal and as I was leaving I saw a used hypodermic needle laying by the front door.
