Food wise, this place is a 4.5/5 but the service was incredible. The people at the counter were very friendly, helpful, competent and did a nice job recommending some sauces for us when we gave our preferences. The shop is cute on the inside and had cornhole and a foosball table next to the outdoor seating! I ordered a make-your-own medium with half sushi rice and half mixed greens. I got the spicy crab ($1 extra), salmon, marinated tuna, and spicy tuna. My favorite was the salmon - melts in your mouth! The marinated tuna had great flavors also. The spicy tuna and spicy crab were decent. The portions here are massive. I left feeling very full. Sushi rice is good but I got the citrus ponzu sauce and that left me feeling like I missed a bit of the flavor once I got to the bottom of my bowl. Loved the wonton strips and the fried onion. Great portions, great food, great service and even though my bowl was about $20, for the quality and portion size, I'm satisfied:)) read more

Had Poke Chop last night from Encinitas location. Food was horrible! Old bitter cucumber salad , edamame tasted cold , salmon and tofu was slimy. And to top it off they covered it in garlic flakes, which I never ordered and am allergic to it. I was too tired to go back and get a new bowl. This has happened several times, I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt. However this was the worst as it contained something I am allergic to. I would not recommend them to anyone. Very confusing experience. I walk in with my dog, and baby and am immediately told I can't have my dog in the inside area. Then I ask, how am I supposed to order?? Our favorite poke place in Encinitas! On this latest visit, I shared the Encinitas bowl with my husband, two of my kids shared a sushi burrito, and my son had the hamachi collar plate. If you're not in the mood for poke, I definitely recommend the hamachi collar! It was deep fried to perfection...served with rice, seaweed salad and a fried vegetable egg roll. Easy no-frills, the patio seating area is great. Came here for a quick rub one night and it was a very easy nice experience. We each ordered our bowl through the counter with all the ingredients and everything was fresh. There are 2 sizes of bowls with different number of scoops of fish. Lots of options and the fish is very fresh. We really like the outdoor seating area. It's a good size patio with putting greens. Nice big wood benches to lean back and enjoy your food. I was craving poke after a day of "work" during lunch right before my flight back to Seattle. I saw this shop nearby with good reviews and decided to give it a try (even though I knew it wouldn't be fresh). It's located across of FedEx and Bank of America in the corner of the building plaza on Encinitas Blvd in Encinitas. There's a huge parking lot with ample spaces. I was originally going to get the medium bowl with 3 choices of protein but then I saw how much food there was with 2 choices, so I ended up with a small bowl LOL. I chose my bowl with sushi rice and had a ton of toppings (cucumbers, edamame, daikon, onions, etc.; who am I HAHA) with Spicy Tuna and Marinated Tuna. The latter definitely did not sound good until I saw what it looked like in person. It looked very appetizing like spicy ahi cubes but without the same flavor. And it was delicious! I couldn't quite point out what the flavor was as there was a lot happening, but it tasted quite fresh and really good. No fishiness either. I added Jalapeño Wasabi and Spicy Mayo on top of my creation and couldn't wait to try it! I was kind of suspicious with the jalapeño wasabi as it sounded kind of weird but surprisingly, that and the spicy mayo together were a great combination! I do think that the sauces did cover up the frozen fish taste which wasn't necessarily a bad thing as the entire bowl overall was definitely to my liking. Really grateful that this location is close to where I'd be working during my stay in San Diego in the future. If I'm ever hungry and craving poke (feel like that's always), this spot definitely hits the spot! read more

I've tried a lot of poke places but this one is hands down my favorite. The customer service is always phenomenal and the staff give excellent recommendations. I will also say they are very patient and answer any questions you have when building the perfect poke bowl. This is my fourth time here and quite frankly it was my favorite bowl yet! I had a small size bowl with spicy tuna and marinated tuna over sushi rice. The rice was fresh and the fish had amazing flavor. Let's not fail to mention that they now have beer on tap as well. My husband and I were wanting some poké, so we decided to try this place out as it was close to where we were. They have their specialty bowls or you can create your own bowl. It reminded me a lot like Poki Poki in Oceanside, but with a deeper/rounder bowl. My husband and I both ordered medium, which consists of 3 servings of fish. Crab meat and avo are extra. The total for two medium poké bowls was around $30. All the ingredients looked and tasted fresh, including the fish. They have a good variety of sauces too. The citrus ponzu was not too overpowering. They do not have indoor seating at this time, but they do have outdoor seating. It was a bit chilly to sit outdoors, so we ended up eating in the car. Friendly and fast service. This has become my go-to poke place close to home since moving to Cardiff/Encinitas last year. The staff are always very nice and quick to acknowledge me, even when they're busy, portions are good, and the fish is fresh. Lots of toppings and sauce options (which can be combined, if you like), and the ability to buy sake in a bottle to go just makes the meal more complete. I've never eaten there, but they have a nice little patio. Beer on tap is available, too. I pretty much come here monthly and know I'll get a consistently good meal. read more

I've been to the PB and Hillcrest locations and each locations serves the highest caliber of food. I'm going to get straight to the point. This place has QUALITY fish! I was fortunate enough to come right when they got fresh caught tuna, and I thought for a second I was in poke heaven. The employees were also pleasant to talk to and they were generous with their portions! Quality fish and large portions for a poke bowl is the quickest way to say I love you. This place is absolutely worth the price and time. I think I went around 1 pm so maybe you too can get fresh caught fish during your visit. The poke is really fantastic. The tuna and salmon are great, though I always prefer salmon. Got half brown rice, half salad, edamame, seaweed salad, 2 scoops salmon, 1 scoop tuna, green onions, and crispy wonton on top. I asked for a sweet and sour sauce, and he mixed two sauces together for me. It was perfect, and my friend who ordered the same agreed. Next time I would just do 2 scoops salmon, as 3 scoops of fish was really too much for me. My other friend got the deep fried hamachi. The first piece was perfect, but unfortunately the second piece was inedible. It was a darker color that the first, and seemed as if it had been fried previously and then fried again to reheat it. That was quite disappointing. The guy behind the counter was very patient with us as we were deciding on the poke bowls, which was appreciated. I don't know where they get the chopsticks, but they were incredibly splintery. I've never seen chopsticks like these. They have a nice seating area outside. read more
