Definitely been wanting to try this location for awhile! But for whatever reason I forget or get lured in by the In and Out next door. That grilled onion smell just controls me! Finally I was able to get it together and put in an order: Make your own bowl: by far the standout. Come here for poke bowls point blank!!! They were generous with the toppings and there was no way on this planet I would ever be able to finish one in a single sitting! I got shrimp (perfectly cooked), spicy tuna. (Tasted standard and zero fishy taste), spicy Krab (eh, it adds some creamy goodness to the bowl, and seared tuna (again fresh tasting). I got the various mix in and my bowl was just loaded up! Butterfly shrimp: tasty snack that goes well with the spicy mayo dip. Reasonable at about $1 per shrimp which were crispy without being battered to hell and back. Seaweed salad: again they filled the container! For whatever reason this once cheap dish has gone up in price drastically the past few years, and here you get a really generous amount! Yay! Others in my group got Poké bowls and all loved them. The only murmurs of discontent was with those who got the chicken katsu and the garlic shrimp. They said their dishes were pretty dry. They did load up the potions though... so ... ya know, if you do like it, there will be A LOT of it. I noticed they have a happy hour which is cool. Cheaper Poké bowls and half off apps. Tried Poke Chop after a hike for dinner. I ordered a medium custom bowl with marinated tuna, salmon and scallops and my friend had the crunchy bowl. My medium bowl was $18 but good portion of fish. I did half half salad and sushi rice, they could have given more salad and less rice. The sides, toppings and sauces were a smaller selection than Poki Poki but enough selection overall for a nice bowl. The fish were cut into bigger chunks than Poki Poki. My friend liked the tempura shrimp, frozen and fried, but didn't care for the rest of the bowl. Parking and seating were plentiful. Staff was welcoming and helpful. You can build your own bowl or burrito. You choose the base which is either sushi rice, brown rice, salad, or burrito. Next, you choose preferred sides, then yout choices of protein. Finally sauces and toppings. They also have chicken katsu, gyoza, fried Calamari, and their specialties. We got five scoops poke bowls, fried Calamari, and macaroni salad. The poke bowl was very fresh, savory, and really delicious. They added generous quantity of base, protein and toppings. Their macaroni salad was creamy, rich and flavorful. Super stoked to have found this little poke spot! Had the sushi burrito with salmon, tuna, marinated tuna, spicy crab, seaweed salad and all the other fixings! Wrapped and ready to go! Poke was really good but when it came to putting sauces on the bowl, I asked for sriracha on my bowl and the woman behind the counter initially refused to claiming they don't put sriracha on the bowls even though there was clearly a bottle of it there. I asked why not and she couldn't give a good explanation and I said literally every other poke place I've been to puts sriracha on my bowl. She eventually did. The Hamachi collar was overly fried and dry; texture was too dry. Fish is always fresh here we like the salmon and the Hamachi. We like the sides. I wish they would add some Japanese pickles like dikon or pickled ginger or any of the pickled vegetables that would be a plus. I came with the kids. They like being able to get their poke how they want it. I paid for two medium bowls and a burrito. They offer 3 sizes. The two employees were patient and kind as the kids told them what they wanted through each step or stage. The kids did a pretty good job of putting together their bowls. I had to dad tax them so I could try them. The burrito is basically a bowl wrapped in a sheet of nori. It was too much nori for me. BTW you have to get at least a medium size bowl to make it into a burrito. Everyone seems to take their food to go. They have two interior tables and a patio. We are on the patio and watched the traffic circus at the near by In n Out and Crack Shack. read more

My kids love this place, and so do my husband and I (especially during happy hour). Their appetizer deals during HH are seriously incredible: $3 for gyoza, calamari, butterfly shrimp, $1.50 for miso soup, $5 for draft pours. There are other things but we order those literally every time we go. Poke bowls are generous and I love their Thai chili sauce. I thought I had tried every poke place within 20 miles but I obviously missed this fantastic spot. Personally, I prefer buying poke straight from a fish market, without any rice or veggies or whatever. But if it must be in a bowl, so be it. This may be the best poke bowl place in North County. The poke itself is extremely fresh and delicious. The veggies are also crazy fresh. I am not sure I have ever had better or fresher edamame or cucumbers. The sushi rice is also real sticky sushi rice, not just white rice. The attention to detail here is outstanding. Like others have said, the marinated tuna is particularly good. The salmon is also very nice. You can build your own bowl or select from one of their own creations. The so-called "small" bowl gets you two proteins and the portions of the toppings you add are very generous. My small bowl easily weighed three pounds. They also offer a handful of Hawaiian plate lunch-style dishes, like chicken katsu. We tried the chicken teriyaki plate with macaroni salad and it was very nice and comes with an egg roll and gyoza. Wanted poke to eat in the car on the drive home and found this place on Yelp. All sizes offered are done by using the same size bowl but different number of protein scoops. I thought that was kind of weird because the proportions would be off with five scoops of protein and same amount of rest of food in bowl. Regardless, I got everything except for jalapeños and salmon only as the protein. Got the citrus ponzu as the dressing and I don't recommend this alone as it was very sour and not balanced. Next time I'll mix two different sauces to give depth and a bit more flavor. Prices for bowls were $15.50 2 protein scoops, $17.50 3 scoops, $20.50 5 scoops. You can either get a bowl or burrito. The shop, although small, they had some tables and even a bar that overlooks the outside (even if the view is the parking lot LOL! They briefly went over the menu and how to build a poke bowl. We decided to choose a bowl off of the menu called the "Up in this Beach". The protein in this bowl included tuna, salmon and shrimp with ginger shoyu, sweet sesame sauce. For the base we chose half brown rice and green salad. To top it all off we added all of the free sides, cucumber salad, edamame, seaweed salad and shiso corn. Let me tell you...this bowl was delicious. The mix was perfect. Each bite of this fresh, sweet and savory concoction was pleasing to the palate.
