I chose a large bowl with half white rice and half spring mix. I could choose 4 proteins: salmon x 2, ahi tuna and scallops. I was tempted by the octopus, but my server said it can be tough sometimes. You pick your heat level and whatever sauces to flavor the bowl. I like the fish being unseasoned so you can dressed it up to your mood. The serving was generous and flavorful. I picked spicy mayo and miso dressing. The total was $20 including tax. Great, fresh poki with lots of toppings to choose from! It is located in a strip mall near Ross in Encinitas. The co-habby and I had late lunch plans but were starved while running errands prior so we decided to split a poke bowl. We opted for a half rice/half salad option and chose all of our fixings. You get a choice of white or brown rice. Then you pick your proteins. You can mix them up or get one, which I did. I like salmon so I did salmon for my protein choice. Then you can choose all the toppings that range from crabmeat to edamame to seaweed salad and wasabi. You can choose sauces and sesame seed and dried seaweed. Since Andre already banned me, here is my experience. My tuna was frozen and the rice under cooked so I returned my bowl after 2 bites. When I asked for a refund, André said if I insisted on a refund I wouldn't be allowed back. I was obviously devastated but I agreed to never darken his door again so I could get my $19.53 back. 1 star for those who like tuna popsicles and hot Al dente rice. This place is for you. Gave this Poke place a shot based on high Yelp rating. It's off the beaten path, in a strip mall. Can't sit inside (not sure why, they would accommodate 2-3 tables and still maintain social distancing) but they have a couple of tables outside and that was good since we used them. Typical Poke place where you can order a bowl and choose your choice of fish, toppings, sauces etc. A welcome addition to the menu was the sushi burrito which has always been my favorite in other places so I ordered that one only to find out that the machine that rolls out the bed of rice on top of the seaweed was broken or couldn't be started. What a downer. The bowl I ordered had tuna and salmon; topped it with spicy mayo and sesame oil plus ponzu sauce. Added imitation crab meat, seaweed salad, tempura crumbs etc. Fish was decent, rice was good but didn't have that vinegary taste that makes it more palatable. For $13 once gets a decent size bowl with lots of fish and quite a few accoutrements. One tip (and that is the same for all establishments): make sure the workers change their gloves in between customers. Many don't or will change only one, on their non-dominant hand. Did it happen here? I will stop at this. Just keep your eyes open! :) Overall, a good value, I hope they fix their sushi burrito machine soon and I would definitely come back to give it another try. This is my favorite poke shop in Encinitas. It's great because I'll grab a poke bowl while the hubby goes next door to grab something else. I always get the same thing and go rogue on occasion by getting a rice bowl instead of a greens bowl. Always start with greens, tuna, seared ahi and ebi. Then yes yo the onions and radish with a medium heat sauce and add spicy Mayo that they toss everything in. Next I top it off with crab mix, avocado, garlic crisps, edamame, ginger, sesame seeds and dried nori. They usually give me soy sauce and wasabi in the side, which I like dipping the seared ahi in. Check this place out but expect to wait. It's a hopping place but we'll worth it. read more
