Stumbled upon this midtown gem which caught my attention because of the happy hour poster outside advertising a $10 combo from 3-5p. Upon entry I was greeted with a unique aroma of spices and a bright and clean dining area. At the back of the restaurant on the self-service kiosk, I ordered two dipped and dusted chicken sandwich combos with fries for one order and the desi kimchi for the other along with the mango lassi drinks. The chicken on the sandwich was juicy, flavorful and paired well with the crunch of the lettuce and tanginess of the kimchi; not to mention the soft potato bun. The fries were seasoned well and tasted good with both the delicious and naughty sauces. The mango lassi was also good but interesting with a thick consistency and a pretty sweet flavor. Fun chicken shop with a strong identity. Pricing and portions are fair. Love the Indian-inspired flavors and that they stay open late, 10:00p on weekdays and up to 11:00p on weekends. They share the space with Bol, which looks like an Indian food "make-your-own" bowl bar. I didn't try Bol personally but there are lots of options here if visiting with a group. Interior was very modern and clean. Lots of board games stocked. The occasional solicitor poked their head in but the vibes were good overall. Ordered via self-service so I didn't notice the actual human service too much, but it was prompt. I had the Kathi Roll, which was a fried chicken thigh strip rolled up with onions and sauce in a paratha. The chicken and sauce was flavorful, but the paratha was amazing and I wish I could have gotten a side of just the bread! "Delicious Sauce" was very good, mostly tasting like butter chicken sauce. I tried my friend's Balle Balle fries which were super flavorful, and washed it all down with a Mango Lassi. The lassi here is a bit turmeric-forward, which was fine by me, but could be noticeable to people who aren't used to it. The woman at the front was so bubbli and kind, let me try anything I wanted and then some, and was honest with her reviews. I loved the design of the packaging; really adds to the quick food feel. This is definitely the best for quality since you're guaranteed hot, fresh, juicy chicken. Ambiance wise, the place is pretty nice. Lots of natural lighting, spacious, plenty of tables/bench seats, and it's connected to their other fast casual concept, Bol, which is like the Indian version of Chipotle. For food, we tried their loaded chic fries w/ naughty sauce and a mango lassi, and their loaded rice n shine topped w/ delicious sauce and yanch sauce on the side. I really enjoyed the chicken sandwich, especially the desi kimchi that was on top of the chicken. It had the right amount of acidity and crunch that went well with the saucy nature of the sandwich. My only gripe was that the chicken to bun ratio was slightly off. I felt that there was more bun than my chicken halfway through my meal. I was feeling pretty hungry so I got the rice bowl and the sauce it came with, which is a little sweet, pairs really well with spicy chicken. The chicken itself has a good peanut after taste, which made it very delicious and aromatic. I later confirmed with the chef that they fry their chicken in peanut oil by default but you can request a different oil (I believe she said sunflower seed oil) if you have a peanut allergy, though just be warned that the peanut aroma will be all over the restaurant. The fries is where this place really shines, each fry is coated with a layer of spice blend that makes it delicious without any sauce. The combo also comes with one of their signature sauces. I got the green one, which I was told was very spicy but even as someone who does not eat a lot of spicy food, I didn't find it overwhelming. Lastly, the mango lassi was nice and thick but also very heavy on the turmeric taste, which can be polarize for people.
