As a Houstonian foodie, this place is complete trash! This was my first and last time spending money and time at this whole in the wall of a "restaurant". Initially, I the noticed a very disgusting dust-filled fan, which threw me off. After receiving my order of unseasoned chicken wings and an assortment of "shrimp fried rice" I was disappointed!! Please people, eat here if you want to be let down and disappointed - this place is trash

Best. Chicken. In. Houston. And I stand by that 100%. Chicken wings are always crispy, flavorful and keeps you wanting more. Make sure to bring cash.

It's been the same way for last 30 years. Happy they still consistent these many years later. Something about that triple crispy, lightly seasoned chicken wings that has it in business this long. Service is cool. It will take some time as they usually business but order is mostly always accurate. Will return for more soon.

Service is whatever, but the food makes up for it. We ordered the 3 piece chicken and 1fish 3 shrimp meal which was ready pretty quickly! The only con to this place is that they only take cash. It's 2021, it's time to take credit cards/ Apple Pay.

Simple and Sweet They are a mom and pop shop doing fried chicken really well! I didn't feel like waiting so I phoned my order in and got a 3 piece chicken dinner with fried rice and a fish burger. Everything was really good. All of this came in at about $9.50 which is quite affordable considering how much food you get. The fried chicken was moist and seasoned beautifully. The skin is quite crunchy and not too greasy. The fried rice is good but somewhat bland. I would recommend adding soy sauce or salt to it. The fish burger was also good but some additional tartar sauce would have been appreciated. This place is somewhat hood but it's alright. The staff are there to get you in and out so don't go expecting a huge welcome party with smiles on their faces. The place smells like fried chicken grease and you'll probably smell like it too after setting foot in there. Last tip is CASH ONLY, no card. Would come back!

Crunchiest Fried Chicken in hot, plentiful servings, accompanied by fresh bread rolls. Fried trout was served with fried rice, salad and rolls. The main dishes were perfectly fried and still hot when we arrived at home. Recommend ordering in advance for pickup. Got to try the pork chops next time.

I haven't been here in years, and this is what I get. What a disappointment!!!

Make it an entree. :: And of course, their oysters. I'm an oyster happy hour girlie! I don't fully rec the the jerk fish collars, as this dish has a lot of bones and it's hard to eat. They have indoor and outdoor seating, a great cocktail list--they've got frozen margs and frozen sidecar.

Mixed perfectly for both. Loved the zest on the paloma glass. My husband loved his smoked octopus entree. I loved my crab cake. Not much or any filler, just pure crab and maybe a binding agent (egg?). Different from the east coast crab cakes I've had that use a loooot of bread crumbs and the cake can sometimes be dry as a result. This cake was moist and flavorful and paired with a perfectly made hollandaise. For dessert we got the basque cake, which is like a crispy pound cake surrounded by cherry preserves and crushed almonds. It was topped with a wonderfully decadent yet light cream cheese ice-cream. 11/10 will come back (and bring friends)!

Something simple that should be an easy win. Unfortunately, everything leaned the same direction: either it was heavy, over-sauced, or overly garlicky. It tasted more like dressed-up frozen food than something thoughtfully prepared. And listen...I don't mind indulgent. But there still has to be balance and fresh food. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. And with seafood, that's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is friendly, great music, and the service was very attentive. Even the presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't enough.
